Been looking for a good AYCE for a while now as there hasn't been many in Richmond hill I've been enjoying. Soooo I decided to expand my borders and hit up Aurora and check out this sushi joint. Recommend! Had a great dinner here, AYCE, and thought that their selection was great. Quality of sushi was great, their fish/rice ratio was good. Their rolls, sashimi cuts, and grilled dishes were all fresh, flavourful. Wide selection of food items making AYCE worth it. Would come back here again. Doesn't look much the place is located in a strip plaza with ample parking. The inside is cozy with lots of spaces. We were promptly seated and was given a table to choose our orders. I was disappointed that the food doesn't taste fresh and the quality of the sushi rolls are sub par. It's not as tasty as it looks comparing to the other AYCE sushi places that Ive been. I don't know if there is new ownership but Torii has gone downhill. Strike 1: Takeout order was 20 minutes longer than the 30 minute time given when placing the order. Strike 2: I asked for the receipt because I can claim it as a work expense, they ask for it back saying that they need it to pack the order but will put it in the bag and of course, when I get to the office, there is no receipt in the bag. Strike 3: The spicy tuna and salmon rolls were drowning in sauce and the California rolls were almost all cucumber. Tempura was not as crispy as before. Nigiri-Ya, Minami and Mi-Ne are much further but the quality and service will make it worth the drive. 3 Strikes - you are out of the rotation Torii. read more

My favourite takeout sushi place by far. Their sashimi is some. of the best. And they really don't skimp on the fish portions of the sushi and Maki rolls. Highly recommend any salmon based. Sushi or maki. And the sashimi is fresh and great thick slice. The service is friendly fast and efficient and if you sit in than order tempura you won't be disappointed. After reading lots of positive reviews for this place, we decided to give it a try. We went on a weekday nights and it was quite empty which was understandable. We were asked to sit wherever we liked so we chose a corner sofa seat. It was the IPAD system kind of AYCE. The service was excellent, especially that one server (young asian brown hair with glasses), he was super attentive. Always came by to check if the qualities were good, needed water/ tea, etc. He even recommended the tiramisu to us as he mentioned he made them that morning. The overall quality of the sashimi was very good and very fresh. Each pieces were very thick cut, unlike most AYCE where they wouldn't be that generous. Unfortunately the sweet shrimps only offered on the weekends so keep that in mind! The sushi was a little bit disappointing. The seaweed was soft, not crunchy as if it has been with the rice for a while. Another disappointing fact and very important- TOO MUCH SAUCE! The spicy sushi or the hot dishes that came with sauces, they put so much in each that by the time it's in your mouth, you were overwhelmed by sauces in your mouth rather than the flavour of what you were eating. The spicy sushi would have tasted so much better if they mixed the sauce with the diced fish first rather than dumping a bunch of sauce on top of them. Kudos to the plating. They made sure each plate was presentable despite the quality you ordered. If you see pretty things, you would want to eat more. The tiramisu was by far THE BEST one out of so many AYCE I have been. This was the closest to the real tiramisu it could get. The cream on top was not whipped cream and the lady finger piece at the bottom was actually soaked in coffee as it had a hint of that coffee aroma in your mouth. Price was definitely a little cheaper than most AYCE as weekdays only $25 and weekend $27... Now has 10% during grand opening period when paying cash!!!! Ordered a sushi platter (56 pcs) through Uber eats. Yes, it was a lot of food for a minimal price but it was average at best. The rice was too wet and left many pieces of sushi soggy. Because it was wet, all the pieces were sticking together. It became a pretty difficult task just to pick up the food. The ingredients were also very marginal, in terms of quality and freshness. Overall, it was not a great experience for a 4.5 star restaurant on Yelp. When compared to other restaurants on Yonge, I would probably go elsewhere and can really only give this place 3 stars. I understand that this is a sushi buffet location but I've definitely tasted better sushi from a sushi buffet. I will not be returning because of how average my experience was. But if you are looking for a large amount of food for a fair price, this place is for you. read more

I've been looking for a sushi place in Aurora that would be both tasty and cheap and I'm glad I found Torii sushi. Always fresh, a lot of fish in rolls and not so much rice or veggies, great size sashimi. Absolutely love their bento boxes- they come with so many extras that one can easily feed 2. My favourite is spicy roll combo (spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy crab) -24 pieces of rolls for 14$. Always friendly, willing to do substitutes without charging extra, everything is always packed great. You get what your pay for! Tori is an all you can eat Japanese restaurant. My experience with AYCE is you get subpar sushi. That's exactly what we go from our Tori take out. When we saw the prices for take out, we thought, wow what a great value! At $8.99 for dragon rolls that would otherwise cost $14.99 at other restaurants, we certainly got value but not much in the way of quality. The fish wasn't the freshest but it was ok, the rolls all fell apart when pick up with chopstick and the texture of the rice was not the best. Torii Sushi is a new ayce place that you order through iPads. They are currently offering a grand opening discount - if you pay by cash, it's 10% off. The price is really good for Friday's and weekend dinner, it's 26.95. Their menu has a lot of speciality items such as torched sushi, tuna and beef tataki, scallop rolls and sushi, a wide variety of Thai items, and raw sweet shrimp (which you don't find in a lot of places). I especially enjoyed their spider rolls, scallop roll and the spicy tuna avocado roll. Their rolls aren't packed with rice so it's the perfect ratio (rice to fillings). The portions are really good as well so you have an opportunity to try a wide range of items on their menu. They have some 'cool' items on their dessert menu as well, such as the ice cream sushi - rice paper wrapped with ice cream. The service was exceptional, with the waiter always stopping by to check on us, and filling our tea cups. The sushi restaurant is a little hidden- it's located past yonge street on Wellington in a small plaza. I will def return for the great food! read more

Given the cheaper price, I think it's really good value. It's got 90% of the items that most fancy AYCE places have. The kitchen items are pretty good as well as sushi items. The sashimi items are pretty fresh. The overall feeling is that it's not as fancy but given its location and price, I would definitely return when I'm craving for sushi. They've got these special plates for kids and the kids love them. Speaking of kids, this place is very comfortable with a group as there is a lot of empty space because of the way the tables are laid out. The service is excellent, the server was extremely nice and asked for feedbacks so they could better improve. I've been to over 10 AYCE sushi places across GTA, most of them are pretty much the same with the exception of a few where you get some specialty items such as torched sushi. The only time I'm up in Aurora is to visit my mother-in-law. For this particular occasion (and with barely a week's notice) we were looking for a place that could accommodate a party of 11 for a birthday. When The Keg Aurora said they didn't do reservations on Saturdays, we were looking for other options and came across this AYCE place. It also ended up being very close to my mother-in-law's house. The price was reasonable, the menu was extensive enough for those that couldn't eat raw fish and ordering was easy as our table had two iPad to place our orders. Most importantly, the food came out in a very reasonable time after placing our orders and our plates were pretty good. We all left the place satisfied and above all, my mother-in-law really enjoyed her meal and company. Whenever there is an occasion in Aurora, this could very well be our go-to restaurant. read more

This was a great place. The customer service was amazing and the waiters were very kind. The presentation of the food was also good. Everything was delicious. I really liked that the rolls were not only delicious, but they had a thin layer of rice, which is how they should be unlike other places that load it up with thick layers of rice that falls everywhere. I'm giving Torii sushi a 5 star based on the fact that it is an AYCE place. I tend to find that a lot of AYCE places have average quality food and crappy service. My family is super excited that there's finally a decent AYCE place up here in Aurora. As many of the other reviewers have mentioned, the menu here matches a lot of the more expensive AYCE places in Markham/Richmond Hill at a slightly lower price. I love that they have octopus sashimi and torched sushi on their menu. Their cooked food options are also incredible! It was Friday night and I have craving Japanese food as usual but I have made no reservation anywhere, so decided to head a little North to Aurora to test my luck. Arrived at the restaurant at 8pm, the restaurant is not full but still plenty customers. I was greeted by friendly staff quickly and seated. This is an all you can eat restaurant with people I see doing take out as well. The order is taken by ipad. Based on the price $27.99, I didn't really expect anything really fancy but was surprised there are still plenty of variety of sashimi, sushi, torched sushi, and rolls. I prefer these over their hot items as they are just normal to me. I have to mention the staffs are very friendly, I was really full but they high recommended I try the ice cream sushi roll which basically any ice cream of your choice and they roll it in rice paper. This was surprisingly good for an AYCE on the way back to Toronto from cottage country. The hand rolls were excellent, but especially the salmon with mango sauce. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. They have touch screen iPads on each table to place orders. It definitely makes everything convenient. This is a nice quiet place for dinner. Sushi and sashimi are freshly made. However,the grill dishes are a bit disappointing. The taste of the chicken skewer and satay beef are a bit off. The seafood soup is spicy and it is not indicated in the menu. Baked mussels are covered by special sauce but I would prefer if it's cheese . For a buffet dinner, I would prefer more varieties ( with quality of course). Compare to other Japanese's buffet, i would say it's below average. read more

Delighted to say that there is a pretty decent AYCE sushi up in Aurora. I thought we went the wrong way when we turned west on Wellington instead of East.. I had never been in that area before. There is a huge two-story outdoor plaza hidden that has Tim Hortons, Osmow's, Circle K and AYCE sushi! The restaurant was not busy when we entered. The server was very nice and explained the iPad ordering system. There is a large variety of foods available. The sashimi is served on a bed of crushed ice, which is nice as I've never had that at any other AYCE place. The sashimi were cut to good sizes, rolls and sushi were delicious. Many many food options available, though I would skip on the sweet & sour pork/general tao chicken types of dishes.. they were a little soggy. The cheese wontons were deeeelicious. My partner and I love going here! Comfortable booths, reasonable prices, and delicious, good quality, fresh food. A couple months ago they upgraded from disposable wood chopsticks to reusable plastic ones which I love. They have a large dinner menu selection with something for everyone. The lunch menu is also a decent size and includes the desserts. The service is also great the staff are polite and friendly, and the food comes out at a great speed, hot or cold the way it's supposed to be, and very tasty! Nothing to write home about but still a pretty decent all you can eat sushi place. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here as I've had some issues with fish freshness. This is a small location, but fortunately when I went to eat wirh one other person on a weekday we did not have to wait. AYCE ordering is via iPad like many other establishments. A lot of variety of rolls, sashimi, sushi, cooked foods and desserts. I wish I had taken pics but I was too busy eating. What is better about this location is that the food doesn't just come haphazardly placed on plates - they were presented nicely with garnishes. The service was also excellent. One server would always introduce our food and tell us what it was. Our dishes were also cleared promptly. As for the quality the roll were super loose and it won't stays together when pick them up with chopsticks, also they put lots of cucumber and avocado and little tiny fish in the roll....yes it's all about the rolls cuz I don't get enough sashimi and sushi to talk about....they should list the items for each tray so you know it's a ROLL TRAY！will never buy their food again read more
