    Pork belly and quesadilla

First timer from out of town, went to WKU 20 years ago. One friend brought me here and the next day another friend invited me to Toro. That's pretty impressive in a town overflowing with restaurants. It was fantastic. Our waitress was witty, knowledgeable, and attentive. Dimly lit, casual vibe with a "family" side and a "groovy" side, for the bigger kids. We sat at a high top near the bar. Chairs were nice but a bit clunky, we needed help to scoot up to the table as the legs did not play nicely with the flooring. When we walked in we noticed the daily specials on a board advertising a peach margarita. We each ordered one and it was excellent! Smokey, sweet, spicy... delightfully complex. Kudos to whoever conjured that recipe. We each ordered a second, it was that good. We also ordered tapas to share. The appetizer sampler, empanadas, queso and chips, pork belly, quesadilla, and smashed potatoes. Everything was great, so much flavor and variety. I have a feeling that all the dishes are tasty. I'd definitely return to try more. I understand why Toro was my friends' top pick for dinner... Something for every taste, palate, and price point. Chill atmosphere. Exceptional service.

The menu at Toro is intriguing. It's sort of Spanish but also some other random non-Spanish items. Either way I can 100% say get the clams. They are swimming in a delicious garlic butter wine sauce with chorizo that is perfect for sopping up with the grilled bread that comes with. I also tried the brisket burrito and, while it was fine, I would for sure try something different next time. The brisket was giving pot roast more than smoked brisket. My server was attentive, friendly, and happy to help me decide between a few tapas.

Can't say enough about this place! Have been here probably 8 or so times for both brunch and dinner. Service is always great. I love the vibe in here- Spanish moss, cool lighting, velvet chairs. Food is always delicious. The specials are always changing and are amazing! The drinks are creative and delicious. The Diablo is a fun spicy drink. *I am updating my review a year later to say this place is still great! Love the depth of flavor of all the dishes and drinks. Service is always good and prices are reasonable!

Wow! This place is incredible! Visited here from out of town, and very disappointed that I won't be back in the area again soon to come back. We ordered several things off the menu to share and everything was delicious. I highly recommend the chef special bowl with rice. Our server was fantastic, and very helpful with drink and food recommendations. They have delicious margaritas and fun seasonal drink options. We went on a Saturday night, but didn't have to wait for a table which was great. This is definitely a fun place to visit with friends or family.

We were in town with our daughter and friends for a college visit at Western Kentucky. Time for dinner and we wanted to avoid the chain restaurants. Toro turned out to be a good choice. The presentation was great. Everyone's meal looked wonderful and the food was really good. Cocktails were also delicious. Overall this spot was a pleasant surprise. Good food, good service, and all for a decent price too. When our daughter attends next fall we will definitely be back.

Nice restaurant with small plates and a great happy hour. Ambiance is very nice for a college town. Lots of menu options to choose from. Our server handled our large party wonderfully. The GM was very kind and accommodating.

nice atmosphere, great lightning actually not too dark not too bright. Staff is GREAT I was there for 1/2 price wine night -- yay. Tinga and shrimp tacos - great yes gringo flavors, coming from a Mexican palate... Then a ceviche tostado Again yummy. I will say the corn tortillas that the tacos are in was amazing I don't know that they were hand prepared but they were very very good.

This restaurant is beautiful inside. The menu is the most interesting combo of cuisines in Bowling Green. Our server was very knowledgeable about the drink and food menu. I love to ask questions before ordering and you can tell when the owner really cares about his business because the servers have actually tasted the food! The garlic shrimp, fish and potato croquettes, and the chef's special were all delicious. The chef's special came with fries or rice. I chose fries because I love the way they mix up the fries so you get a little bit of every kind (crinkle, tots, curly, etc.) The chicken was fork tender and seasoned to perfection. Add the queso with chorizo on top and it was delicious.

What an amazing place to eat. Visiting friending while on vacation. Our server was Jowlz and he was what made the review 5 stars. He greeted us at the door and sat us at our table. He continued to be our server. His smile was so contagious and super kind. He gave his recommendations and we definitely listened to him. His recommendations were on point.

The food is unreal! Especially for the bowling green area, this food is so unique & tastes amazing! So many different options. The service was fast & food is very decently priced considering how upscale it is compared to the rest of the area. Can't wait to go back & try more!

Great place. Wife and I stopped in for an early evening drink and munchies. Happy hour house margs were perfect, street corn fritters, tostada and garlic shrimp all spot on. Staff was happy, pleasant and excellent! Definitely recommend for afternoon eats and drinks. We will be back for sure! Ask for Michaela, she's awesome.

100% would recommend this restaurant!!!!…read more we arrived right at 5pm when they open back up for the day. firstly the atmosphere and customer service is top tier. everyone is super attentive and welcoming. we started off with mixed drinks, with a very wide selection, each drink we tried was perfectly mixed and balanced. we definitely would recommend the french martini and vette city. as for appetizers, we tried the fried pickles and jalapeños. the batter was light but crunchy and flavorful and the house made ranch paired perfectly with them. main courses i would 1000% recommend the chicken rosa. such a delicious dish with a creamy mash potatoes side and perfectly seasoned and sautéed fresh vegetable side. the lemon caper sauce paired with the chicken was stunning. chicken was cooked perfectly and still very juicy. the basil pasta dish was al dente with a rich, herby, and creamy sauce. the crème brûlée was the most delicious dessert to end the meal with a perfectly crunchy sugar top not too charred and the crème part was flavored very nicely with a good vanilla taste. 5/5 WOULD RECOMMEND

It a hard balance when for some. The atmosphere was modern chic with farm house feel. The pour on my wine was subpar along with my dinner portion of salmon. For these reasons, I can't give them a four star or better review.

We had been avoiding it like the plague since then, because why would I want to give my money to some jerk off who thinks we're "inbreds" (his words, you can look it up). All that said, we were talking to some friends the other day and they said we should try it again because the seafood selection was fantastic, soooooo we decided to hit it up for our anniversary. We got the oysters, and they were some small guys but out waiter Eli (ask for him) said that they were easy coast even though they typically get west coast. It was nice to have a knowledgeable wait staff that was super friendly and happy to talk through anything with us that we had questions on. We got the steak and sea bass and both were great! Creamed spinach and baked potato as sides were a good call as well. We took some friends with us and one of them got the shrimp and grits, and those grits were LEGIT. Soooooo, if you're looking for a fine dining experience in Bowling Green you could really either do Tony's or Hickory & Oak. In my opinion, Hickory & Oak gets my vote because Josh is one of us and I doubt I'll ever read any articles about him ripping off his employees or calling Kentuckians names, but this experience was so good at Tony's that I might swallow my pride here and there and stop in every once in a while for a delicious steak or some really great bourbon and wine.

We tried this hotel steak and seafood restaurant for the first time and left with mixed feelings…read more The online reservation system had no option to select seating when I booked, nor did anyone mention seating when they called to confirm our reservation, so we requested a booth from the hostess when we arrived. We were told they were fully booked, yet those exact booths sat empty during our entire meal. Fortunately, our waiter was phenomenal--incredibly upbeat, knew the menu well, and provided reasonably quick service despite the high volume of business the evening we visited. While the ambiance strives to match the restaurant's self-representation of being a fine dining steak and seafood establishment, the food fell a bit flat. I ordered the Filet Mignon and my husband ordered the New York strip; both were only a few tallies above what you could get at any decent, everyday restaurant. We also both ordered a lobster tail, which turned out to be a bit tough. I will say they do have the largest shrimp, which we really enjoyed, and their cocktail sauce was quite tasty. Ultimately, management needs to remember that they are still just a hotel restaurant. To truly captivate customers and justify their fine-dining labels and pricing, they need to refine their seating communication, make everyone who walks in feel seen and appreciated, and inject real culinary ambition into the kitchen, taste, and presentation. While we still enjoyed our evening, I personally do not see us returning. With that being said, they seem to still be thriving, which is great. It's just not for us.
