Stopped in for dinner and to watch the U.S play Belgium. This is a great sports bar environment with TVs up on the walls wherever you look. I ordered the Magnolia salad and added chicken. My date ordered the fish and chips on the recommendation of our server Nathan. We both enjoyed our dinners... a lot. The chicken on my salad was juicy and not overcooked. Drafts were $5 each. Our first time there and walking in, it's a Sports pub with an artsy flair. The atmosphere was lively with a decent crowd and lots folks laughing and having a good time. We were seated quickly and our waiter came right away to get our drink order. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was out quickly and was very tasty. My son enjoyed his chicken Alfredo. My wife had the Magnolia salad was pretty good. (Which I had a bit of) I ordered the Cobb salad which was a twist on the classic, with a nice presentation... but I thought it was heavy on the shredded cheese and tortilla strips for my preference...would have liked a bit more lettuce ratio... On Friday March 21, 2025, my wife an I were passing through Bowling Green on our way to Florida for Spring Break. It was lunch time and we worked up an appetite on our drive. Thankfully my wife suggested Pub By Novo. It was the first Friday of March Madness, but we were there early so we had no problem snagging a table. When you walk in it feels like a sports bar. It is a clean space with lots of metal and concrete. I like the look. When you peruse the menu you quickly realize this ain't no typical sports bar. The menu offers upscale bar food and has something for everyone. We started with the Pimento Cheese Dip, which comes with a generous portion of dip and lightly toasted bread. It was very good. My wife ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown (although here it is simply called Hot Brown). It was on point and excellent. I had the Chicken and Waffle, mine was very good but the Hot Brown was the star of the day. Service was extremely friendly and dripping in Southern Hospitality. Prices are reasonable. I'm not sure I'll ever be back to Bowling Green Kentucky, but if I am I'll certainly stop at Pub By Novo! read more

Food was very good. We were sat by the kitchen??? Why? Open restaurant. Our server was amazing! He was an older man and did one of the best jobs I have run into in a long time. I am working in the area, so I stopped in for dinner at the suggestion of a local friend. This is an upscale sports bar if that can happen. Sports bar feel with an elevated menu. The vibe feels a little weird with the music choices compared to a sports bar atmosphere. I had a local beer, White Squirrel West Coast IPA and the Bang Bang Chicken to start the evening. Everything was very good. Thanks to the bartender that recommended the Bang Bang Chicken. I watched the 3 bartenders make cocktails and by luck of the draw I did not get the bartender I wanted to prepare my last cocktail of the evening. I tried the Prohibition Old Fashioned. The bartender I wanted to make it, was not the one that actually made it and it showed. There is one rockstar bartender in there this evening and unfortunately she did not make my Old Fashioned. I was surprised by the cocktail menu, which is much more creative than your average pub, and stands in contrast to the vibe of the pub in general, which is super industrial, bright, and a true sports bar. I couldn't believe how crowded it was, even on a Saturday-- almost everyone who came in had a super long wait! Every table was full, and I was only lucky enough to be seated because I had a table of one. I had a cocktail that was excellent (can't find which one on the menu online, but I think it was something with blackberry?), and the parmesan salmon which was also great. We had a great meal here! We came with a big group after going to a WKU basketball game. My brother in law had been here before and very highly recommended it. We were with a big group of around 10. It took a good while to get a table, so see if you can make a reservation. My brother in law could not stop talking about the pub nachos, so much so that he got them as an entree. I wanted to see for myself so I ordered them as an appetizer for the table. The hype is real, they were really great nachos. For my entree I got the slinger burger, since everything about it sounded great. I upgraded to truffle fries. I would not get this if I were to come back. I didn't love the chili on the burger, I thought it was way too overpowering, especially for it being wagyu meat that I wanted to taste. Also, this is my fault, but when I read "chili" on the menu idk why I thought of a pepper, like a chili pepper, and was disappointed when I saw chili chili (again, my fault). The fries also were a waste of an upgrade and money. They were below the burger and mountain of chili, completely masking the subtle truffle taste. The staff up front was alright, not sure if they especially cared about us, or listened when we were trying to simplify their job and get us in and out. That being said, we came on a Saturday evening and it was pretty busy, so I am sure they were doing their best. Our hotel staff recommended we try out a local restaurant and we are so happy we did. Service was excellent and food was very good! Beer selection had plenty of options with a selection of seasonal drinks as well. I ordered the hot brown as it's a local favorite apparently. I was curious so decided to give it a try. Came out super hot with hand cut fries. Took most of it back to hotel for hubby to eat later. He ordered southern pub burger which looked good. He said the burger was a little dry but otherwise okay. Stopped in BG for the night, and Yelp! pointed me here. I sat alone at the bar on a busy Friday night, was greeted quickly, and given some suggestions when asked what was good. I got a local beer, the blackened mahi sandwich and upgraded to the onion rings for my "premium" side. All three were excellent: fresh and flavorful. Good service despite the full bar. The spicy chicken sandwich is intense- it is not a spicy flavor but like drowning in straight hot sauce. Was said to see they offer did you need any ranch to then charge for it- better to ask would you like to add which would better imply a fee. I expected more pop, more flavor from the green chili smoothed by the creaminess of the cheese. Bacon was good bun was good too. The loaded tots were bad. The bbq was bad. I understand that there are different styles of bbq but taste wise was bad. It tasted burnt. Tots were perfectly cooked and the cheese was perfect but the bbq was dry and not tasting good. Do you know that feeling of uncertainty when traveling and you finally arrive at your destination, and it's time for dinner... and everyone nervously decides where to eat and hope it's good? Well we did that, but we were not disappointed. We visited on a Thursday evening around 7. It was BUSY and loud (it's a sports bar, you have to expect that) but we got seated within 10-15 minutes. Our server was super sweet and gave us recommendations. We got some mixed drinks, beers, and an appetizer (Buffalo cauliflower) to start. Mixed drinks were strong and reasonably priced. The cauliflower bites came out fast and so hot. The whole table loved them. Everyone in our party got sandwiches, but they have other entrees you wouldn't expect like jambalaya and fried rice, pizza, and tacos. Love the variety! I wish this place was in my hometown so I could try more off the menu. I got the salmon patty blt, and my husband got the blackened mahi sandwich. Huge portions and full of flavor. I wanted to finish mine because it was so good, but I stopped just so I could save some for later. The fries were also really good. Highly recommend this place! Hubby ordered shrimp tacos, he said they were a 4/5 due to the fact it was deep-fried shrimp and only two pieces in each taco. He said flavor was great but the batter became clammy due to the lime juice. We have a fast food place near our hometown that does the VERY BEST shrimp tacos you've ever eaten with fresh shrimp, and tons of cabbage and cilantro. It would be cool if they'd take a page out of their book and at least go the fresh shrimp route. I think they'd be far more enjoyable. Table was terribly sticky but other than that, place was very clean! Bathrooms were decent too. I also ordered a (seasonal) caramel appletini. WAY too much whiskey, so strong it felt like a punch to the mouth LOL! A black Cherry vodka seltzer made up for it tho. Prices are higher than what we're used to paying but was willing to since it was our anniversary. After we ate, we sat at the bar for about 30min while I finished my drink and the bartender was very nice and accommodating. If this placed franchised... I would visit each location. Easy way to explain.. for those not from Bowling Green... upscale sports bar /gastro pub... with a southern twist. Inside- TVs everywhere. Solid bar that seats 25-30? Plenty of space. There is music playing in bar area so don't expect quiet. But it's good Excellent draft beer menu. With everything from Rhinegeist, to Hi-Wire to West Sixth. We tried the bang bang shrimp. Crunchy shrimp, large, and gear flavor. A little more sweet teriyaki vs Bone Fish, but good. My only thing is it's only 5-6 shrimp. As an app, you could go a little smaller shrimp and more I'd a shareable plate. But still very good. So we went random and tried the Lo-Main Fried rice with chicken (it's extra). But wow! So good! Did not exit t that kinda flavor. Of course, feel free to add some hot sauce. I was using Yelp to scope out potential places to eat while I was in Bowling Green to play a disc golf tournament. I saw Pub by Novo was highly rated and I saw lots of good stuff on the menu to try. First of all, finally....Bowling Green did it! They do have sweet tea here because the last two joints I ate at in Bowling Green had the unsweetest sweet tea I've ever had. Pub By Novo passed the sweet tea test. I really wanted to try the chicken and waffles. The waffles are made out of cornbread and it comes with pimento cheese and sriracha honey. Looking back now, I really wished I would have chose it. But I wanted more parts. I went with the Southern Burger. It is made from Wagyu beef and was topped with brisket. The burger was very good but not as good as the sides. The fries seemed to be cut in house and that makes them the best kind of fries. But the best side was the pimento mac and cheese. I paid an extra $5 for it and it was $5 worth spent. The noodles were penne and so cheesy with a hint of spiciness from the pimento cheese. I would go back just for it! I felt like the burger is not the best thing they offer but there is potential for a 5 rating here with the mac and cheese and other dishes. read more
