Well it was certainly a festive environment but unless you're deaf or a teenager, or you're okay with locking yourself in the bathroom for the evening, the noise level is simply unbearable. This includes speakers, a karaoke singer and a tuba player. We even used ear plugs and you still can't avoid the 100+ AVERAGE decibel level - think of it like having a chainsaw running by your ears constantly which alters your ability to make simple decisions like 'what would you like to drink?' Speaking of drinks, the bar is spacious and showy. We did order top shelf margaritas to dull our senses, and they were solid. After a long waiting period, we also received a yummy ceviche appetizer. They offer different hot sauces too. Unfortunately, we decided not to stay for more dishes and risk damaging our ear drums. It is noteworthy that this was opening night and there's a lot for the management to consider if they want patrons to return. One star plus bonus points for effort and an a generally cheerful staff - so rounding to a 2. That's all...

Me and the wife drove by this place the other day so we decided to spin the block and give them a try. First thing we noticed is that its nice and roomy inside. Plenty of tables and the music was great. Staff was real nice and answered all of our questions. My wife ordered the bbq ribs and our server recommended this spicy habanero shrimp dish for me to try. My wife said the ribs were good, nice and flavorful and the sauce was a great pairing with the ribs. My shrimp dish was delicious, great flavor but not that spicy. Overall we have a great experience and will be returning to try some other specialy items they have on the menu.

Supposedly to be a chicken tortilla soup

We had a very disappointing dining experience. We first ordered a tequila drink, and it was terrible--poor flavor and what seemed to be very low-quality tequila. We then ordered two chicken tortilla soups, which were not good at all. To make matters worse, the soups arrived with meat that did not appear to be chicken. When I questioned the waitress, she responded that it was chicken and that only the condiments had changed the color. Unfortunately, the explanation did not match what was served. Overall, the food quality, drinks, and service were very disappointing. What should have been an enjoyable dinner turned into a very unpleasant experience.

    Having fun!

The food was good. The mango margaritas were wonderful. Jocelyn was our server. She was the best. Family owned business that needs the community support.

Great vibes, but a total service meltdown I really wanted to love this place after seeing it on Instagram, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere is lovely, but the restaurant was severely understaffed with only two waiters running back and forth between both sides of the building. I actually felt uncomfortable and embarrassed for them, but it made for a stressful dining experience. The food arrived cold, and while the Chicharron ($19) was the only tasty thing we had, they only had one left in the kitchen, so we couldn't even get a full order. The "surprise" birthday churro was put together right in front of us (so much for the surprise) and was also cold. To top it off, we had to ask three different people twice for the check before eventually giving up and walking to the front to pay ourselves just so we could leave. If you need a to-go box, forget it; you'll be there all night waiting. All in all way OVERPRICED not coming back

The music was really loud and I couldn't hear the conversation of the person with me so the Asian bartender helped us turn down the music a little. Tried two of the cocktails at Alter Ego. Overall, both have different vibes. Alter Ego is good for a more intimate dark setting date vibe. Service was pretty good at Still OG! The Asian bartender checked in several times and was really nice as well as provided some recommendations on which happy hour specials were most popular which helps since I'm indecisive. The back does seem like a more classy environment and I'd choose this setting over a dive bar any day. I was even wished a happy early birthday. When going into the bar, you walk down a staircase into a space that makes you forget you're in downtown San Jose with beautiful reds and burgundy decor. The staff is all smartly dressed; the bartender and bar back were both sweet and funny. I ordered a jack rose (my all time favorite), their seasonal watermelon waltz (this may be a new favorite for me, nice and refreshing) and one of their zero proof cocktails called a Mariposa which was soooo good as well. Final Thoughts: 4.20/5.0…read more Contrary to many other opinions, I personally really like brunch. It really is more for the vibes and spending time with my friends and family versus the food sometimes. For some reason, this place has always been on my list of to-go brunch places, but I've just never had the chance to go here. After our matcha run, my friend and I decided to go here for brunch. It was around a 45 minute wait today. On their Yelp, appears to be quite the quaint place to to get food and relax. Will definitely be a 4 star for me. Food: Jumbo Crab Bene with seasonal fruit: 4.0/5 This is their fresh lump crab with sliced avocado, whole grain mustard and poached eggs stacked on lightly toasted English muffins, topped with scratch made Hollandaise sauce and garnished with locally sourced microgreens. This is served with either house potatoes or seasonal fruits. The lump crab is actually fresh crab I believe. There are some pieces of the shell that were still in there. I'm honestly not even mad because that's a pretty big indicator that it's the fresh crab meat picked out. The egg is nicely poached with a runny yolk. Hollandaise sauce is quite nice and light. The Dijon mustard was quite strong for me and did overwhelm some of the other flavors on the plate. It does add a nice flavor, but occasionally, it was too much. For the English muffin, it was quite thick, so it felt kind of dry. It's noted to be slightly toasted, but its somewhat hard to tell with the mustard, crab meat, and poached egg on top, which are mainly wet items. Avocado is perfectly ripe. I'm not an avocado person, but this one did it just right for me. The fruits came with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Very refreshing and needed after the savory foods. Philly Steak Sandwich with garlic fries: 4.0/5 This sandwich has grilled steak with peppers, onions, and mushrooms topped with provolone cheese on a toasted baguette with mayo and a light teriyaki drizzle. Will come with either a side of house salad or garlic fries. I really liked how they caramelized the onions and peppers inside of this. There's that additional sweetness from it that works well with the steak and cheese. Very tender meat. The bread also seemed kind of big and just almost dry too. Not too big of a concern given the amount of filling that they give. My friend choose the garlic fries and those were amazing. The cut is just right and the crisp on the outside is just so good. You can taste the garlic, but I could do with even more garlic to it. --------- Quality: Fresh Something I really like is that they use real crab in their jumbo crab bene. You can actually feel the tiny pieces of the shell in it, which usually means its fresh. The food did take a second to come out, but both were piping hot. My friends onions and veggies were quite caramelized, which is nice. Brings out a lot of the flavor component in the sandwich. The fries were actually so good too. I wanted the side of garli fries, but it was convenient that his came with it. Super crispy, nice size, flavor is good. May need a little more fresh garlic, but overall, really good. Price: Reasonable Prices seem reasonable for what they give. Initially, it does lean more on the expensive side, but their portion sizes are larger than your average brunch place. Prices will range from between $18 to $24, with a few outliers. Service: Very sweet workers Very nice service here. Everyone was sweet, greeted us, and checked on us. Our food did take a little longer than some others around us. For us, it was around a 25-30 minute wait after ordering our food. Even the table next to us that were seated after got their food first. The food did come out fresh, so I'm not really complaining. They did let us know and give us little updates about our wait and food though. Ambiance: Classic Brunch Spot The space is nice and looks slightly cramped inside. It was just my friend and I and they gave us a seat right in the corner next to the window. Honestly, probably the best spot for me and the person who seated us also noted that it was his favorite spot in the house. I didn't see much beyond from what was seen by the door. The space looks fairly small, but fit a decent amount of tables with walking space in between still. Always love the open kitchen. It's fun to watch what happens behind the scenes. Location/Parking: Large space It's located right on Saratoga Avenue. There is a Lucky grocery store here, so there is a lot of parking around. We really didn't have any concerns finding a space at all.
