Late review... We expected this to be a cool place. The music was spot on, but they have poor service. We waited a long time to receive our food and check. Food was cold and one plate was missing the cheese. There was also a lack of communication between our server and another staff member who kept checking in but wasn't able to assist or follow through with anything we requested. The food quality and portion sizes were not worth the price we were charged that day.

Supposedly to be a chicken tortilla soup

We had a very disappointing dining experience. We first ordered a tequila drink, and it was terrible--poor flavor and what seemed to be very low-quality tequila. We then ordered two chicken tortilla soups, which were not good at all. To make matters worse, the soups arrived with meat that did not appear to be chicken. When I questioned the waitress, she responded that it was chicken and that only the condiments had changed the color. Unfortunately, the explanation did not match what was served. Overall, the food quality, drinks, and service were very disappointing. What should have been an enjoyable dinner turned into a very unpleasant experience.

Well it was certainly a festive environment but unless you're deaf or a teenager, or you're okay with locking yourself in the bathroom for the evening, the noise level is simply unbearable. This includes speakers, a karaoke singer and a tuba player. We even used ear plugs and you still can't avoid the 100+ AVERAGE decibel level - think of it like having a chainsaw running by your ears constantly which alters your ability to make simple decisions like 'what would you like to drink?' Speaking of drinks, the bar is spacious and showy. We did order top shelf margaritas to dull our senses, and they were solid. After a long waiting period, we also received a yummy ceviche appetizer. They offer different hot sauces too. Unfortunately, we decided not to stay for more dishes and risk damaging our ear drums. It is noteworthy that this was opening night and there's a lot for the management to consider if they want patrons to return. One star plus bonus points for effort and an a generally cheerful staff - so rounding to a 2. That's all...

Great vibes, but a total service meltdown I really wanted to love this place after seeing it on Instagram, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment for my husband's birthday. The atmosphere is lovely, but the restaurant was severely understaffed with only two waiters running back and forth between both sides of the building. I actually felt uncomfortable and embarrassed for them, but it made for a stressful dining experience. The food arrived cold, and while the Chicharron ($19) was the only tasty thing we had, they only had one left in the kitchen, so we couldn't even get a full order. The "surprise" birthday churro was put together right in front of us (so much for the surprise) and was also cold. To top it off, we had to ask three different people twice for the check before eventually giving up and walking to the front to pay ourselves just so we could leave. If you need a to-go box, forget it; you'll be there all night waiting. All in all way OVERPRICED not coming back

The cocktail menu is inspired by records, and you can feel the creativity in every sip. These aren't your standard bar pours -- they're clearly thought out and crafted with personality. If you're someone who appreciates a drink with a story behind it, you'll be in your element here. The live DJ on weekends takes the whole experience to another level. The music isn't background noise -- it's part of the atmosphere, and it hits right. What makes this place truly special is that you're getting two completely different vibes under one roof. Walk into Still OG up front and you get a casual, laid-back energy -- easy conversation, good company, no pretension. Then slip into the speakeasy in the back and the whole mood shifts. Alter Ego is a proper intimate lounge with their full bar, and it feels like a world away from the street outside. The transition between the two spaces is surprisingly seamless and genuinely fun to experience. And they're open late, which puts them in a rare category of places actually worth staying out for. Everything is a shareable size which is nice so you can try more things without breaking the bank. The String Beans were the bomb. Nice mellow spicy kick that kept you coming back for more. The Garlic noodles were cooked well very reminiscent of Pad Thai. The garlic flavor was there with out knocking you over. The Burmese Chicken Curry rounded out the meal. It was a very hearty curry with large pieces of chicken and potatoes. Hubby really liked it but wished it had been spicier. I on the other hand thought it was a bit on the sweet side. We arrived around 5:30pm on a weeknight and the place was empty except for one couple. One of the first things I noticed was the music overhead was very loud. The waitress told us to sit wherever we wanted, so we grabbed a booth in the side room. Fortunately, the music was not as loud in there. I decided to try something I hadn't ordered previously and went with the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and rice. My companions ordered carne asada street tacos, chicken enmoladas, and a strawberry margarita. The food arrived quickly. My dish was nice-sized with three enchiladas, and while they were good, they were a bit too spicy for me. I could only eat about half of them. The rice was delicious and I would have liked more. Everyone else really enjoyed their food and kept commenting on how good it was. I asked if their food was spicy and they said no. They liked their strawberry margarita, too. I tried to order tres leche for dessert for us to share, but they were out. I've had it before at Casa Villa and it is scrumptious with lots of strawberries. The waitress then surprised us with a tiny piece she found in the fridge and three spoons. She didn't charge us for it. Overall it was a good dinner and I highly recommend Casa Villa. The restaurant is cozy with a warm, homey feeling and the service is excellent. I've had the fish tacos and quesabirria tacos in the past and they are delicious.

When I asked to taste two wines before ordering, our server Anthony commented that we "should have ordered a flight." When the bill arrived, he had already selected a 20% tip on the payment device, which felt odd since tipping should be the customer's choice. When we adjusted it to 15%, he told us that he had been nice to us all night and that we had been rude to him, which was uncomfortable and surprising.
