IMHO I love Mexican food and was very excited to try Casa Villa, another InKind app restaurant, which gives a 20% discount when paying with their app. Our friends had dined there before, recommended it and asked us to join them last night. You bet! Decor was colorful. We had our choice of tables at 5:30ish and picked a comfy booth in the next room. Music was lively, BUT a little too loud. My recommendation is to turn it down just a tad. Service was friendly and helpful. Just one lady to take orders and serve. The guys ordered beers, $6.50, and the ladies ordered guava & passionfruit mimosas, $10. My mimosa was refreshing and tasty, and it immediately went to my head, if you catch the drift. We started with the Nachos appetizer, $13.99. Delish but pricey in my opinion. The menfolk ordered Fajitas Trio Chef's Special, $32.99, and Shrimp Fajitas, $24.99, while the women ordered Quesa-Fritas, $18.99, and Asada Street Tacos, $16.99. My Asada Street Tacos came with three little cups of guacamole, onions/cilantro, and a spicy orange sauce, plus rice and beans. I took a little taste of the orange sauce before putting it on my tacos and quickly realized it would be too spicy for my tummy. I probably should've asked if they had pico de gallo, which would've been perfect for these tacos. I liked my tacos, but thought the rice was dry and beans needed more flavor. Overall, everyone liked their entrees, but we had leftovers to bring home. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't offer combo plates since I like to enjoy a cheese enchilada and taco. They didn't even have a cheese enchilada on their menu. They are open at 9 a.m. for the breakfast crowd and offer breakfast and vegetarian options as well. Will we return? Sure. Yum to the shrimp tacos! This Mexican restaurant is located in a tiny, rather nondescript strip mall in Willow Glen, but its modest exterior belies its delicious offerings! I visited on a Sunday evening when FIFA was still going on, and they had games on display in Spanish with all of their tvs. The inside was spacious and it wasn't too busy, but there were a steady stream of local visitors stopping by for dinner. I ordered chicken enchiladas with rice and also shared an entree sized order of shrimp tacos with my dining companions. We each got to eat one of the three shrimp tacos, and honestly, this was the best thing we got! The shrimp was perfectly cooked. The cabbage slaw and salsa were fresh and crisp. And the creamy drizzle of aioli had a nice kick to it. Altogether, each bite was a feast for the senses. Service was friendly, fast, and efficient. The carne asada plate was okay, the carne asada itself was missing that smoky char flavor. It was also my first time trying nopales, and they were a bit sour for my palate. The refried beans were decent. The rice was soft and fluffy. The tortillas were hot, fresh, and homemade. The shrimp ceviche was decent. It wasn't as lime-forward as I prefer, and the red bell peppers caught me off guard since I'm not used to having them in ceviche. Hey there Party People I would say that Casa Villa qualifies as a "hole in the Wall" joint. It's a no frills kind of place. They charge $4.50 for chips and salsa. The salsa was good the chips are traditional so they are on the thicker side. We had a chicken Quesadilla as an appetizer. It was nicely seasoned with a ton of Chicken and cheese. I had the Tinga Tostadas. It was ok. The seasoning was on the Smokey side but not spicy at all. Hubby had the Chile Relleno. It was also just OK. The rice was bland but the fluffy texture was good. I think that maybe most people would say that Casa Villa is very traditional Mexican food. So if that is what you're after I'm sure you will enjoy this place. I just like my Mexican food to have a kick. Lastly, I hate paying for chips and salsa. It would be like going to Cheesecake Factory and having to pay for the bread....it's just wrong. Had dinner at Casa Villa tonight. I've ordered food from them via DoorDash in the past, but tonight was my first time dining in the restaurant. We arrived around 5:30pm on a weeknight and the place was empty except for one couple. One of the first things I noticed was the music overhead was very loud. The waitress told us to sit wherever we wanted, so we grabbed a booth in the side room. Fortunately, the music was not as loud in there. I decided to try something I hadn't ordered previously and went with the chicken enchiladas with green sauce and rice. My companions ordered carne asada street tacos, chicken enmoladas, and a strawberry margarita. The food arrived quickly. My dish was nice-sized with three enchiladas, and while they were good, they were a bit too spicy for me. I could only eat about half of them. The rice was delicious and I would have liked more. Everyone else really enjoyed their food and kept commenting on how good it was. I asked if their food was spicy and they said no. They liked their strawberry margarita, too. I tried to order tres leche for dessert for us to share, but they were out. I've had it before at Casa Villa and it is scrumptious with lots of strawberries. The waitress then surprised us with a tiny piece she found in the fridge and three spoons. She didn't charge us for it. Overall it was a good dinner and I highly recommend Casa Villa. Warmly greeted, then pick your own table/booth. Each breakfast was fresh and hearty, including the guacamole. Fresh is important for my dish, otherwise, it can be a soggy mess, as I opted for the Rojo Chorizo Chilaquiles, Eggs Over Easy. I love me some chorizo, so I was clamoring for a little bit more, but the dish was incredibly delicious nonetheless. Their Mexican Coffee is unique and a must for me at breakfast time. Here is my Delish experience!!! We recently discovered this hidden gem in San Jose after our family friends recommended this spot. This restaurant serves amazing authentic Mexican food with great service and a pleasant ambience. The frescas and mocktails were especially flavorful and refreshing. I really liked their kids menu options and ordered pancakes with fresh strawberries along with a side of fries. It may seem like a small detail but we absolutely loved the fries, they were perfectly crispy and not thin or soggy. Coming to the food, our favorite part was the molcajete which is a massive platter with multiple items and very filling, definitely worth the price. The spicy sauce that comes with the platter is incredibly delicious and adds so much flavor. For those with a smaller appetite, they also offer smaller portion options like the pollo quesadilla which did not disappoint at all. Overall this has become our new favorite spot every time we visit the Bay Area, an authentic Mexican restaurant with great food, great service and a welcoming experience. read more

Ordered the quesfritas, red-sauced chilaquiles, and enmoladas de pollo (mom ordered a veggie omelet, but let's not talk about that). Everything had its own unique flavor and the plating was subtle but skilled, with generous portions to boot. It's a hit and miss finding good Mexican food in San Jose, but Casa Villa struck three for three - and that's not including the rich flan and tres leches cake served fashionably on a black tiled plate shared between the four of us, or the free refills of cafe de olla. Casa Villa is a small Mexican restaurant in a willow glen strip mall. They are expanding soon but for now they have less than 10 tables. The facility itself is in decent condition, well decorated and about as clean as you'd expect. The service is really friendly and the prices seem reasonable. We got the molcajete to share. It's pretty big and served very hot in a volcano rock pot. There were generous amounts of beef, chicken and very flavorful sausage. It all seemed fresh and well cooked. But it was lacking something in flavor as most of the ingredients seemed sliced and basically boiled. It needs more seasoning or something to elevate the flavor. It look unassuming from the outside, but you step through the doors it has a warm and friendly vibe. There is enough Mexican decor to give the place flavor, without being kitschy. Service was fast and friendly, and our waitress was very helpful. They've got a large menu with lots of interesting items, including a large breakfast menu. We got chips and salsa - the chips are homemade, and the salsa was really good. I ordered the shrimp empanadas, and they were amazing. The crust was flakey and flavorful, and the shrimp filling was perfectly cooked. It came with a cucumber salad, which was very refreshing. My friend ordered the Camarones Al Ajillo, and said it was delicious. I had a Tres Leches cake for dessert. The presentation was beautiful, and the cake itself was perfect. We finished our meal with cafe de olla. It was freshly brewed, and the wonderful smell filled the room. And of course it was served in clay mugs, as it should be! The only downside of the meal was the margarita I ordered. The presentation was really nice, but the drink itself was just OK. There were no premium cocktails on the menu, so next time I might stick with a beer or Michelada. We been here for breakfast, as o we decided to try it for lunch. They expanded to the next door since the last time I've been here. I'm assuming that means business must be good. Not much of a crowd for lunch,it's usually crowded for breakfast. They have a nice variety on the menu, pretty much something for everyones taste. I got the mole enchiladas. I know it depends on who makes the mole. I don't think I've had the same tasteing mole. Here the mole is slightly sweet,not at all spicy. Not my favorite,but not bad. Been wanting to try Casa Villa for a while because I love trying out new spots close to Willow Glen. Casa Villa is in a plaza around the area and is a really small restaurant with only about 8 tables in the indoor area. The place is decorated really nicely but the service wasn't really as welcoming. We came here specifically for the pozole and ceviche. Pozole was good had lots of flavor but was really spicy. Ceviche was super weird and I didn't like the taste at all. Super sweet not very favor. The chunks were too big and not like your traditional ceviche. My boyfriend ordered the enchiladas which he liked because it came with rice and beans. The horchata was super yummy as well but was mostly ice inside of the glass. Was a little let down by the service just because it took a little while to even get our order taken and no one had checked up on us after receiving the food. The few times we needed something we had to call down a server which took a really long time which is unfortunate because the place didn't have many tables so I assume they prioritize take out orders. Overall, I don't think I will be returning. The food is mid and prices are still high for what you get. Total came out to be $70 for everything with tip which is decent for all of the food but the service and food just didn't meet our expectations. read more

After waiting well over 15 minutes at our table the waitress brought us a menu and said she would be back to take out drink order well another 15-20 minutes went by she sat a party of 6 down after us not only took their drink orders first, she brought them their drinks AND went ahead and took food orders meanwhile she never came back to at the least take our drink orders! Quaint little restaurant in a quiet area of the town, parking right on the parking lot of plaza. They have nice drinks and the food is fresh. I was expecting a traditional clay bowl for my pozole, but I got it in a regular white bien instead. I suppose it's no big deal since the pozole was pretty good, but for some reason I like the clay bowl better, just for the experience and presentation. The one thing I was disappointed in is that I was expecting (handmade) corn tortillas. I could've sweared that I saw it on the menu. I got prepackaged corn tortillas instead. I went in to get a too good to go bag but the pick up window was 12 hours so asked to be seated for breakfast. instead they took my order and money and tip and told me to sit anywhere I waited an extremely long time for one omelette and a Bloody Mary. The waiter gave me a plate, and drin and nothing else and didn't ask if I wanted a stra or hot sauce or anything. I could not drink a Bloody Mary made of sugar, tomato juice and teqIola because it was disgusting. Also, whole I was seated, they changed my too good to go pick up window to 20 minutes and, if you miss pickup, you pay for the food to go in the garbage. I walked to the counter because my waiter literally never came back. i wish I could've asked for my money and my tip back. instead I asked for my food to get packed to go and for my too good to go bag. They put my leftovers with dirty plates and handed me my too good to go I bag. they just sroof staring at me while I explained 4 times that I was not bussing tables. I handed them the rest of my om because my waiter never waited on me. I asked over and over and over and over again for them to move my left over breakfast away off of a pile of disugaring dirty plates and pack it for me in a to go container because my breakfast cost me $35.20, ev though I can't eat leftovers that they ruined and I can't drink the dr that they ruined. I left and I will never go back again this is the only review I have ever left that has not been 5 stars because I used to be a Lyft driver and I believe that, if I have nothing nice to say I shouldn't say anything at all. also my waiter was very attentive to the other 6 patio diners, and I was nice to him, so I really wanted to demand my tip back for the first and only time in my life. read more

Cozy little Mexican spot! I got the posole and the pork was super soft and tender. The soup was pretty spicy and came with onions and chili oil on the side. We also tried the hibiscus drink, and it was the perfect sweetness for me. December 12, 2025 and our party of 4 came in for dinner. Lots of close by parking. The restaurant is well lit, and the menu is easy to read. The chips and salsa was good, and it is obvious the chips are nuts prepackaged/mass-manufactured. The chicken nachos were thoroughly enjoyed. The shrimp super burrito was filling and delicious.
