FREAKING FINALLY a legit, sushi spot to call home to!! Now.... this is more so a To-Go review since I only picked up my order to eat at home type thing since I'm the only person who would truly eat sushi vs my whole family (although my husband would enjoy it every once in a while, but has to be cooked....) I picked up their Spicy Salmon Roll and their Lemon Special Roll, you can tell right off the bat that their fish is SO fresh and it literally melts in your mouth! Loved the flavor combinations on their Lemon Special Roll! The citrus truly pops without taking away from the star of the show, that being the fish! I can't wait to try them out via dine in one day!

The atmosphere here was casual pleasant and welcoming. Our waitress was helpful and explained a few rolls we ask about. We had 2 great rolls-the Mi Cevichi and the Crunchy roll. Both were generously large and yummy! We had Prosecco and a cucumber salad that was dressed just right. We will go here again and tell our friends!

Best sushi in Boerne! (Well technically Fair Oaks) and definitely one of the best in the SA area. The sushi is fresh and tasty, especially the Mi Ceviche Roll and the Lemon Special Roll. Friendly service too!

Food was amazing and the service was great. I've been to all three locations and I love love love this place!

I was excited to see more sushi options closer to home. I decided to go check it out. Also I have been to the other Toroko location which I liked at that time. This location is simply ok. No real complaints but the food is nothing really spectacular. I always have high hopes of new sushi places bringing more traditional Japanese dishes. Technically you are getting the same rolls as any other sushi restaurant in town. The waitress was sweet and attentive One thing I didn't like at this restaurant and I believe it is the same issue for the other restaurant next door is the lighting. They need some shades for the afternoon hours.. you truly cannot look at the entrance you feel you will get blinded

Service was a bit slow but the food made up for it! Definitely affordable and delicious!! I recommend and their sushi is great.

The food is amazing!! Fried combination rice is a must have! Big fried rice fanatic and this is one that sits in my top 10! When it comes to the sushi it also stands toe to toe with some of the best sushi's in town. The margaritas also are quite good. If you are looking for a stronger side margarita this is the place for you! Have made several trips and quality of food is very good and never been disappointed.

Just ordered the Tuna tower and it was wonderful! Very good Sushi, employees are very attentive.

Fantastic! Japanese restaurant just opened last Sunday in Fair Oaks Ranch and is called Toro'KO Sushi.

This is the best Sushi bar in the region! They can make every conceivable item you can think of. Great service. Just a superb neighborhood sushi bar in Fair Oaks Ranch!

The pork was dry and tough (old?)...even the flavorless fat bits., the green onion was a lifeless drab green and it just wasn't as appealing or as tasty as what I am accustomed to. Everything just seemed overcooked or old. The Sushi wasn't too different. I ordered a Chirashi Don with "24 pieces" I guess you can creatively cut two micro sized flat, dry, shrimp to make "4 pieces" , but c'mon. All of the pieces were oddly shaped (mangled) cuts of varied sizes and seemed like pretty cheap cuts of fish overall. the Thai Tea was the only "ok" thing I got for the $48 and change I spent, but even that was a little weak and too sweet for my tatse. If you like GOOD sushi or Thai food, I would NOT recommend this place. It was close by and I'd ordered there before and I wasn't expecting much based on my last experience, but this was the worst and enough to ensure I never go back. There are a very rare few decent Thai places in San Antonio, but if they are closed and this is your only option...make the 3 hour drive to Houston instead.

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

I was immediately annoyed because the music was very loud to me. That could have been due to the empty restaurant, the actual volume or my perception of the volume lol. I was really hoping for a more intimate vibe for conversation. The speakeasy lounge actually looked more like the vibe that I desired but I settled in and placed my order. I wanted some of the showier selections seen on IG, so I ordered the tuna tower and flaming Romeo & Juliet roll and a cute (albeit sweet) cocktail that came in a goldfish shaped glass. When the tuna tower arrived the young server asked me something several times which I couldn't hear over the music, so I just nodded. After she smashed the tuna tower, I figured out she was asking if I wanted it mixed. Lol my bad! I actually did not want it mixed but it was delicious anyway. The Romeo and Juliet roll took forever to stop flaming but once it died down, it was absolutely delicious. My partner enjoyed his roll as well and they gave him a complimentary birthday desert with sparklers. Overall I give service a 3. I would have liked a more professional presentation of the menu, hyping it up a bit. And a less soft spoken server. The food was a solid 5, everything was fresh and scrumptious. Overall I give Uni'ko 4 stars and I look forward to returning. I thought it was a good value given the extra razzle dazzle and food quality.

We were so excited to have this location open up here in San Antonio, but quickly disappointed by the lack of quality overall. First off, the killer beef rib ramen tastes so watered down. TRUST ME. I've eaten so many bowls. I've tried the San Antonio location 4 times and it's let me down each time. The fish also tastes-- overwhelmingly fishy. I love fish, but it just doesn't taste like good quality. The last straw was when my daughter ordered her fried imitation crab sticks. She swallowed something rough but continued to bite through. After the second bite she pulled an ENTIRE PIECE OF DEEP FRIED PLASTIC out from underneath the panko bread crumbs. The waitress was apologetic and took it back. The remade 3 sticks out of the 5 even though the 2 other sticks were left on plates uneaten. We honestly didn't want them after that. I wish they would have just taken them and deducted it from the bill. That's my fault for not advocating for myself, but I was just in shock and pissed that my daughter ate a piece of plastic. They did give us a little plate of freezer burnt chocolate ice cream. Freezer burnt, but free. It's no wonder that this place is ALWAYS empty every time we visit here.
