    Green Curry Chicken, Dinner portion

Came for lunch for a bday celebration for one of our friends. We came right when they opened and looked at the menu. It's been awhile since I've been here and usually I get a Sushi lunch special or Pad Wun Sen. Today I was in the mood for Green Chicken Curry with rice. Our friend suggested we order and share like Family-Style so I was good with that and ordered the Dinner portion. I ordered the Green Chicken Curry & requested it as mild but there was a slight kick to it which was mitigated with the white rice. I expected more chicken and veggies but it seemed more saucy? My other friend ordered the Sashimi Lunch Special with 9 pieces of Sashimi with 3 pieces each of Tuna, Yellowtail and Salmon. It comes with a salad so she chose the Squid salad with sliced, cooked Squid in a slightly tangy sauce. My other friend ordered the Crispy Pork Belly Stir-Fry with "Chinese Collard Greens" in the description. The leaves tasted like Bok Choy and the stems tasted like Asparagus. There's a brown sauce so the Pork Belly is no longer crispy in case you're expecting it "crispy". For dessert, my bday celebrant was able to have a free Mango Sticky Rice decorated with a Happy Birthday greeting I think from a Chocolate drizzle, Orchid flower and a candle! It was very tasty with the sweet Mangos and coconut milk topping the warm sweet rice. Very comforting and perfect! I would order that on it's own again! For drinks, my friends got a Thai Iced Tea that looked very refreshing. Service was quick and prompt. The Women's bathroom was out of order during this visit and I didn't want to use the Men's restroom.

We went here for dinner to celebrate Mother's Day. There were 7 of us and they charged 22% automatically for gratuity. The food is delicious and nicely plated with orchids. We ordered papaya salad (Lao style - comes with pickled crabs), crispy pork belly, Panang duck curry, chicken pad Thai, Thai fried rice, and fried pompano fish. The staff was attentive and the decor is beautiful. We will definitely come back.

Kin is always highly recommended to us every time we visit Texas, so we knew we had to stop by during this trip. We started off with some Tom Yum Shrimp Soup and Salmon Sashimi. The Tom Yum was delicious. It came out in a bowl that remained hot throughout our meal. It had great flavor and a really generous amount of shrimp and mushrooms. I just wish it was a bit spicier, but that's just personal preference. The Salmon Sashimi was really fresh and had great flavor. I also got the Masago nigiri, Yellowtail nigiri and Crab nigiri to start. They were all great, and tasted fresh! My favorite was the masago and I loved that they gave me a few extra pieces. I tried the Veggie Tempura Roll, but by that time I was super full from the starters. From the few pieces I was able to eat, I loved the eel and spicy mayo sauce that was on top. My dad says Kin's has the best Spicy Tuna Handroll he's ever had. So definitely put that on your "must-try" list when you visit. For dessert we got the Mango Sticky Rice and their Tempura Oreos. The mango was perfectly ripe and paired so well with the coconut sticky rice. The oreos are out of this world. Great crunch from the tempura and it's plated with vanilla ice cream. Definitely will be back!

Easily accessible to the 1604 Loop but find this can also be a very busy intersection. Wonderfully clean and has a moderately upscale vibe, sunny windows and seating is comfy. Available sushi bar option if you enjoy conversation with the sushi masters! As most Asian restaurants have become more of a fusion of Asian cultures, this is one I most enjoy, Japanese and Thai cuisine because you have the best of both warm comforting entrees and then there is the fresh cold sushi or poke. The variety ought to satisfy everyone in the family! I am eager to return and try something else pictured on their menu board - all of them look amazing! Nice dessert and wine options as well. The outdoor patio seems just as inviting as the inside. Waitstaff was very attentive and helpful!

Stopped in and had an amazing lunch! We ordered so much food, I swear I rolled outta there Fried skinny spring rolls. I really enjoyed these. A small cup of chicken and rice soup! I loved it. This would be the perfect soup on a cold day. It hugs you My son had the pho with extra chicken. He said it was really good . The broth was spot on I ordered a green chicken curry and a spicy chicken pad Thai. Wonderful! The portion sizes are good. We definitely brought leftovers overs home.. I'll definitely be going back

My husband I came here one time on a Monday, not realizing it's closed on Monday lol just fyi! We live nearby and drive by all the time. We decided to stop again another day and our overall experience was good. There was a good sized crowd which to me is a good sign since these days we live in a world of instant gratification aka instacart, DoorDash, Uber eats.. you get my point. I personally don't like when restaurants fuse different foods/cultures because I feel like the quality/taste of one is compromised. I've had this experience at several fusion restaurants and unfortunately, I felt that at this place. I enjoyed everything we ordered/ate but the sushi wasn't my favorite. I liked the curry a lot. Overall great service, reasonable pricing, good ambiance, clean restaurant! Definitely recommend and we'll be back to try new items on the menu!

They did nothing wrong! It was simply a matter of me finding the food rather bland. I was excited to try this place with a friend but it did disappoint overall. Spring rolls - Asked for no crab, add extra shrimp or noodles. They brought rolls with just noodles, carrots, and lettuce. Sushi - It was bland. I picked some of the spicy rolls and it was still somehow lacking in that pizazz that I love about sushi. I also feel like they do too much with each roll and the flavors maybe get lost. Pad Thai - The flavors were there on this one! It just needed a bit more sauce. It was super dry. The photos are stunning! The service was so great! I do think this place is relatively Celiac friendly. They did put something fried with my Pad Thai (it was not listed on the menu) and kindly remade. The overall taste and flavor just wasn't there and I was pretty sad about it.

I didn't get any sushi so I can't comment on that. The take out order was on time and food was still warm by the time I got home. I honestly didn't have anything bad but it felt like all the dishes were missing something to take it above average. For example, the noodle dish was a little bit dry and it probably could have used more sauce. Usually I get higher heat levels for myself but I was sharing this order so I got mild. The mild level had zero spice at all. I will say that the veggies in the dishes did feel fresh.

We tried making reservations but the website said there were no reservations available. We decided to go and wait, knowing there were other good options nearby if the wait was too long. The restaurant was practically empty!! Started with appetizers of gyoza and iko karaage. The gyoza were good but the ika (essentially calamari) arrived barely warm, too heavily breaded, overcooked, and with a sweet sauce that did nothing to enhance the dish in any way. DH got a chicken katsu dish he enjoyed. I got a crispy chicken yuzu noodle that turned out to be a poorly executed chicken piccata. All the elements of chicken piccata were there, minus the balance of a good chicken piccata. So much garlic. Not good. An order of nigiri was also just ok for $16. I ordered unsweetened iced tea with sweetener on the side. All they have is an off brand pink packet. The tea didn't even taste like tea. It was brown sweet water. For over $100 for the two of us, we'll just stay closer to home for better and cheaper, next time.

But my son, bless his heart, wasn't exposed to Officer Whats-his-face explaining to a class of fifth graders how deviously addictive substances like heroin, crack, and hot pot can be. So my kid has had a habit for about three or four years now. Chinese hot-pot barely tempts me these days; I don't need a numb mouth like that. Mongolian...that level of sodium was fine in my twenties, I guess. Shabu proper - served with ponzu and sesame sauce by some fella wearing a headband starts to get tempting. But I'm doing well this year, I've only flown to LA's Japantown for my fix once. And honestly, this is not that anyway. Most of these restaurants, where they expect me to boil my own dinner, are pretty easy to wean off of. I mean, seriously, how lazy can a restaurant owner be. Here's some raw meat, cook it yourself, folks? Unfortunately, Wild Japanese's offering is more akin to the most delicious of the hot pots. Singaporean or Malaysian style, with a gigantic assortment of sauces and a flavorful selection of broths, and the best soup you've ever had waiting for you at the end of your meal. And I hope that helps explain why when we go two weeks without a visit, my son starts to get really antsy and sees bugs crawling under his skin, just like Officer What's-His-Face said he would. I think originally you could get just not-shabu; nowadays, they make you pair the hot pot with some inferior food. We've tried the sushi a few times. That was a huge mistake. The Korean BBQ pairs well, it's just a lot of effort, and not a lot of soup, so we grill a token steak or two but otherwise stick to not-shabu. Anyway, that's a short entomology of hot pots throughout the world, excluding fondue, according to my tummy. I could probably stop anytime if I really wanted. Eating this delicious not-shabu. But for my son's sake, I go.
