This was my first time here. My sister brought me here for my birthday. We were passing through on our trip back home. She & her husband had been here before and they loved it. We got the Seafood Melody Bucket (in a Dutch Oven) & Angry Sprouts. Makayla was the 'Best' server that I've had anywhere in, likely, years. I was blown away when not only great service but a friendly bubbly personality & a beautiful smile. There was a little hiccup in which Makayla took to the manager without us needing to request her to do and Sean was prompt to take care of the situation. KUDOS! We tried a little bit of everything and had an overall good experience! The fried lobster claws, and the lobster Rangoon's were absolutely delicious. The lobster Ramen, lobster quesadilla, and dessert were also a big hit at our table. Our waitress was very attentive and also patient with all the drinks we ordered! She made them well. We came on a cold day, so we ate inside, but they've got a pretty good sized patio for when the weather warms back up that will be great for outdoor dining! My only disappointment was that I didn't like the butter that my seafood boil was sitting in. It was pretty flavorless and just gave kind of an overall greasy taste, which is offputting when you're paying $68 for high-quality seafood. I would've preferred something a little more flavorful, like a Cajun butter or something with some more herbs and spices in it, but they don't have anything like that for spicy-craving tastebuds. Wow! We loved everything from the fried lobster claw appetizer (sweet flesh and light battered crispiness) to the totally amazing clam chowder. Seriously, you must try this very old school regional version that is nothing like white gravy with canned clams. This was easily one of the best seafood meals we've had anywhere, including Savannah, where we've visited and dined multiple times. The seafood was incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious.We ordered the Seafood Medley Bucket, a dozen oysters on the half shell, the Alaskan Snow Crab Platter, potato skins, Biscoff Cookie Cheesecake, and Key Lime Pie -- and every single item was outstanding. Not one miss. The restaurant itself is fun, welcoming, and full of personality. We're already talking about what we're going to order on our next visit... which will probably be this week. I do want to mention one thing, and it's not a reflection on the restaurant or staff. While we were paying, another customer walked in and seated himself at a table for six without waiting to be sat. When the hostess politely asked him to move to a smaller table, he was extremely rude to her -- to the point that she was in tears and the manager had to step in. We came here on a Thursday with my in-laws for a birthday dinner. We made reservations, but would probably been ok with out them. We sat inside, but there is a large deck with seating as well as a lot more seating on the ground level. Our server made great recommendations and was a delight overall We started with raw oysters that came with the normal accoutrements. I ordered the shrimp poboy, my wife got the smash burger, and my in-laws got the Korean bao buns and the Connecticut lobster roll. All of the food came out quick and was delicious. All of our meals came with thin, flat fries. I prefer thicker fries, but could not stop eating them with the sauce they came with It was my father-in-law's birthday and they brought out ice cream with blueberry cobbler. There were only a couple tables occupied in that area, but our waitress did a great job checking on us and filling our drinks. While Pinchy's is a welcomed addition to the Boerne scene (definitely stands out in terms of concept) my experience there was disappointing at best. Of course, a newer place takes a while to iron things out but what I experienced wasn't stellar whether it's day one or day 3,000. Having made plans for lunch, my dad called ahead of time (and we have since confirmed he called the Texas location, not Tennessee) to ask if they would be serving crawfish in lieu of the season. He was told yes! There would be crawfish available for boils. We got our hopes up, excited to get there and order. That was when our server informed us they don't have crawfish on the menu that day, nor had they ever. Upon inquiring why they would say otherwise over the phone, there was no more answer than "...I don't know." Whatever though, we were there, we may as well order. Which turned out to be a pretty difficult feat. Quite a bit of what we ordered was sold out (we arrived at open) for the day and I overheard tables around us having the same issue. They should definitely be better prepared. We ended up settling for second and third choices and the food was ok, but wasn't good enough to warrant all the mistakes. While the location is great for a view and to sit outside on a nice day, I don't think I see myself making the drive to town to try again, especially for the price. Maybe it'll be a hit for locals, but if you're coming from the surrounding area I recommend sticking to the plenty of other joints nearby at least until they can figure out their sea legs. read more

A bit underwhelmed. After hearing a lot of hoopla about this restaurant, we finally decided to give it a try on a Saturday evening. We made a reservation a few days earlier.. We seated right away inside. The restaurant was buzzing with activity. The wine menu is very limited, cocktails are varied but nothing too over the top. We ordered the clam chowder which was essentially watered down potato soup with maybe a little clam juice. Very disappointing. The crab wontons were also not very tasty. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the fish sandwich. The fish and chips were definitely not good and my wife was actually very disappointed with the fish sandwich. Both of our fish was very greasy and lacking taste. The chips/fries were thin cut but clumped together and greasy. The bread for the fish was a simple dried bun with some aging lettuce. Needless to say, we left quite disappointed in the food. The atmosphere is great, but overall, the chaos seems to hamper the experience, and the food leaves quite a bit to be desired of. We went to Pinchy's on Saturday 2/15/2025, and it's definitely getting through the growing pains of a new restaurant... I had a reservation for an inside table and when we arrived 10 minutes early I was told our table had been given away!! Our new table was outside where we did not want to be due to the cold... I asked the host to turn on the heater, she messed with it for 2 seconds and walked away never to return... luckily, the sun was shining, and it ended up being nice and warm. We were helped by 2 waiters right away, and we were able to order our appetizers cause we could hear other complaints about not getting their food. Our drinks arrived quickly, and apps 10 minutes or so later. The clam Chowder has hot but not much flavor, and we found like 2 small slivers of clam 4/10!! Also ordered the KFC wings, and they were awesome! Very tasty, juicy, and crispy 10/10!! It was probably 30-35 minutes before our entrees arrived. I got the stuffed flounder. The fish was cooked well, but the dish had no flavor... Asparagus was cooked well, and the baked potato was good 6/10. My wife got the Steak Oscar that was cooked properly to her liking, but again, no flavor. The crab and hollandaise sauce was the only flavor, and it wasn't much 5/10. The steak was delivered with no knife, so she had to wait another 5 minutes to eat since the butter knife would not cut the steak! The Brussels were on point, and the baked potato was good. Finally, we tried to order a slice of the biscoff cheesecake, but there was none and wouldn't be ready for an hour or so... so we got our check and left. We were there for almost 2 hours and left full but not really satisfied... I think they have a lot of potential to be great, and maybe we'll go back in a few months. While the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff very friendly, our experience was poor. We arrived at 5PM snd it was very slow but well staffed at that hour. We sat on the outside deck and it took our poor server ten minutes to get anything ordered brought to the table. The forgotten salad dressing took 20 minutes to get because our server forgot to bring it after we asked for it the first time. Sadly this became the theme of the evening. My partner ordered the smallest but most over priced fish and chips we've ever seen. Which was meh flavor wise, he had one beer. Roughly $40.00 before tip. I had 6 raw oysters with a salad (minus the dressing) and two beers. $50.00 before tip. While everyone was pleasant, the service and food quality for the price we paid means we won't be back. There are better ice house like raw bars and establishments that do warrant a visit back to over Pinchy's operation. It tasted like a normal boiled egg, nothing special. 3. The serving was light considering it cost me $48.... That was the most shocking. The pick of my ramen below was $48 dollars. And it didn't have that much lobster. Infact i also ordered the fried lobster and got way more and that cost me $33. So not sure why the $48?!?!?!? I would not recommend this dish pick something else like the Nashville hot lobster sandwich, lobster ravioli or pretzel, etc. anything else. Second visit and I'm sure we will go back again but it's not 100% every time. The first time we got the crab wontons starter which was delicious. They're flavorful and the sauce is really good. I had the lobster macaroni and cheese which was delicious but very very rich. You can see the sauce separate a little when you let it sit. My husband had the roll and it was really good. The price just feels a little high for the amount of food. This time we tried the nachos without the shrimp and they were okay. My recommendations would be fine/make a thinner chip and add cilantro, onion and maybe beans to really round them out. I had the stuffed founder and it was good but I was not prepared for the massive dose of sour cream and butter, but that's easy enough to pull some off. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Daughter had the fried shrimp and this is very similar to the adult option. This is really well done for a classic meal. My son had the kids cheeseburger which was really good, think more of a smash burger type. Drinks- meh. I would suggest sticking to beer and wine as I didn't feel like the margarita or espresso martini were anything I would order again, but they have decent options for wine and beer. The outdoor space is perfect for kiddos to stretch out and play some while waiting. Ask for the little fan think to keep flys at bay, especially during the high fly season. Everything about this experience was amazing. We started off with the potato skins and crab rangoons. The potato skins were hot, fresh, and so yummy dipped in ranch. The crab Rangoons had lots of crab in them and they had a nice Thai chili sauce. I got Pinchy's tacos with grilled shrimp. The broccoli slaw, shrimp, and corn salsa went so well with the humongous pan fried jalapeño. Took 45 minutes to get our food, the brussel sprouts were burned and the waitress asked the manager to comp us (which he did) because it was a bad day for them. The three times before were all wonderful. But lately the prices seem to have crept up and the quality of food has fallen off. When they first opened I would recommend them to anyone. Attended Pinchy's soft opening this evening and absolutely loved every bit of it! We got seated in the raw bar building which worked great being a bit away from the hustle of the main dining room as we were dining with our infant. You can tell they put a lot of effort into prepping their staff as everyone had major pep in their step and were working great as a team. Now the food: we tried lots of options (we've been waiting for this opening for months) and it did not disappoint. Hard to pick our favorites. Crab rangoons were the best I've probably ever had. Packed full and served with a very nice homemade sweet and sour sauce. The Brussels were PERFECT. Crispy, hot and great sauce on the side to dip them in. The raw oysters were small but mighty (bear claw oysters not golf). They truly didn't need anything they were perfect as is. My husband and I both got the Connecticut lobster rolls. Also amazing. So much lobster unlike some places where you only get a few bites. Overall, we were very impressed with everything Pinchy's has to offer and cannot wait to come back and try more of their expansive seafood menu! It was a beautiful warm winter day and we sat out on the deck overlooking the Cibolo Creek. The staff and owners were very professional, helpful and attentive. But the food should be the highlight and IT WAS! We started out with the brussel sprouts for appetizer. Perfectly flash fried and sweet. I decided the only way to really try out a lobster place was with A Whole Lobster!!! Perfectly cooker, fresh and sweet and meaty! Hubby had the lobster cakes with veggies and potatoes and they were excellent too. Since we had a little room left, we shared the Biscoff Cheesecake which defies description - whipped and slightly caramel-ly but not overly sweet with some magical caramel ganache on top. We ordered raw oysters, clam chowder, fish & chips, lobster cakes and the Biscotti cheesecake and not one item disappointed. The flavor, quality and presentation were excellent. We watching other dishes coming out of the kitchen and everything look on point. Chicken wings, crab legs and the sushi rolls were just a few things that caught our eye.
