Growing up and into my twenties, this felt like one of the nicer restaurants in Corpus Christi. It had a more upscale atmosphere than most places around town, and the menu was extensive. It didn't matter what you ordered because it was all good. Some of my favorite memories are sitting at the oyster bar with my parents whenever friends or family came to town, eating freshly shucked oysters while everyone else enjoyed colorful cocktails. Those days feel like they're gone. The menu has been reduced to a single page and now looks a lot like what you'll find at just about any seafood restaurant along the Gulf Coast. The biggest issue isn't the quality. The food is still consistent, and the service has remained reliable. It just doesn't feel unique anymore. The sense that this was a special destination has faded, and that's the part I miss most. That said, the location is still great, the restaurant is always clean, and the bartenders continue to be one of its biggest strengths. They've always been knowledgeable, make excellent drinks, and add a lot to the experience. I genuinely hope this place finds some of the character that made it special years ago.
