The food is okay. The service is not great. It took a long time for every step and she couldn't explain (at first) the discrepancy on my bill. Then she explained that the chicken I added to the soup was a hidden line item on the receipt. Afterwards she gaslit me that she has been complaining about the receipt discrepancies, trying to get them fixed. After I said I could never work somewhere that wasn't forthcoming on the receipts, she told me she gets paid very well. I told her I hope so if everyone gets charged more than the items on the receipt say. The manager offered to remove the hidden charge but my server refused. read more

Serving breakfast and lunch items inspired from Mexico. Chef Bayless has created a menu that is certain to set a new standard for quick-service food. To Go and Dine In options are available. Breakfast served till 11am. Tried the bacon,egg,and cheese torta that was super flavorful. Served on a Telera roll with scrambled eggs,chipotle,jack and cotija cheeses with fresh avocado and a smear of black beans was just amazing. A cup of fresh salsa served on the side. Prices are not bad considering you are in an airport but this is one of the better places to eat whether you have a layover,delayed or just want a good meal. read more

For airport food, this place was pretty good. There's an option to order to go or to dine in. I would say that it took about a good 15 minutes to get our sandwiches, and it's really hard to hear your #. I think everyone was basing off of who ordered in front of you and got their food. I ordered the chipotle chicken torta and the mango lime agua fresca. I had wished there wasn't lime mixed with the mango, and it was a bit overly sweet. More like juice than an agua fresca. The chicken torta, somehow I missed it had black beans, but it was a nice surprise that I would've normally omitted. The bread to topping ratio was pretty good and all the ingredients meshed really well. I didn't care for the side of salsa it came with though. read more

This location is inside O'Hare International Airport. We stopped here for breakfast only because the line at Dunkin Donuts was super long. The only reason for two stars is because of the friendly lady running the register whose name I forgot to get. Otherwise this would be a one star review. We ordered two sandwiches ($11 each) and a drink and ended up paying nearly $40 (including tax) for breakfast. The mango lime aqua Fresca was absolutely delicious but the breakfast sandwiches were sub-par. After waiting nearly 30 minutes for a to go order we received two lukewarm sandwiches. The fillings in the Egg/Chorizo and Egg/Bacon breakfast sandwiches were tasty but the bread on mine was badly burnt which made part of it inedible. Due to the wait we had to quickly scarf our sandwiches before boarding our flight. We will not be back and we do not recommend this business for future customers. read more

Makes travel not-so-bad I hate waiting at the airport for flights. My preference always is to show up about 30 min before in MKE and hope for the best. Not-so when going Intl out of Chicago! The saving grace for me is having enough time and being in a terminal with Tortas Frontera. I love me some Rick Bayless. Nice portion size. Service is always friendly, and you will wait but know that you're not getting something that's been sitting under a warmer for hours. The food is fabulous, don't get me wrong there. I always go out of my way to find Frontera when I am in the Chicago airport. Quite frankly, it's one of the few bright spots in this airport for me. I went there looking forward to ordering an agua fresca and some of their tortilla soup. My dinner companion and I shared some roasted poblano corn chowder and guacamole as well. Both soups were quite hardy and I would not consider them healthy. However, I can't deny that they were delicious. ;) Why not more stars? This particular location within the airport is set up as if you are in a dining room restaurant but there's basically one server for a dozen plus tables which is unrealistic and gives it a weird fast food vibe for being seated and paying a decent price for the food. read more

Sad but true. Look. The food here is tasty. Not just for an airport restaurant but for any restaurant. Sadly the service is second rate -- at least for the pickup. Maybe the bar area ("dine in") is better. My ticket sat at the printer for at least five, maybe ten, minutes before it was picked up and nothing was going on. One of the best airport food options I've ever come across. This trip I had the Cubana. It had, smoked pork loin, bacon, avocado, jack cheese, chipotle mustard and cilantro crema on a telera roll. Even if I have access to a lounge and free food, I search for this place when I go through O'Hare. I actually figured out which terminal had a Frontera Grill (are they now called Tortas Frontera?) before I landed in O'Hare and this one was closest. I'd never been to this one. I ordered my Chicken Chipotle Torta without crema (can't deal with cilantro) and then waited. I didn't realize that I couldn't eat at the tables there, I was sternly told so by the worker serving that side. Rick B would be disappointed. 35 minute wait for food after ordering. Very rude staff. Yelling from across the restaurant to guests who were waiting at the service booth. Bartender was extremely rude. I listened to her routinely mock foreign passengers. A gentleman ordered a Michelado and she asked what beer. He didn't know (because he was foreign) and she just kept asking him to name a beer. The experience felt downright hostile. Visited from 6-7pm on 9/18/22. I go here mainly for their Tortas. I like them a lot. They have a good variety on their menu. My favorites are Cochinita Pibil, Milanesa and Chipotle Chicken. The Cochinita Pibil is da bomb along with their signature habañero sauce that is super spicy but tasty. Also worth having are their Molletes, Soups and Agua Frescas. My favorite Agua Fresca is their Mango Lime. The place is pricey given that it's a Rick Bayless restaurant and that too at the airport. Sometimes the food can be less filling so you don't always get a bang for your buck but it's definitely worth eating here as it's good. read more

Bland sandwich, stale chips way over priced. I expect to pay more at a airport location but that doesn't mean the quality of the food should be any less. Stopped in to have a quick bite before my flight - around 6pm. I couldn't eat heavy foods so opted for some soup. From the two soup choices, they were out of my first choice - the Corn Poblano - so I had to get the Chicken Tortilla (cost extra to add chicken). It was the strangest broth flavors I have ever tasted with Chicken Tortilla soup - almost soy sauc-ish, with a little too much of that one flavor. Don't recall ever having tortilla soup that dark in color but maybe that's normal? It was a decent sized bowl, but after picking at the chicken and avocados for a little bit I gave up. Such awesome food in airport!! They have 3 locations within the O'hare airport located at terminals 1, 3 and 5. My husband flies more often and had been raving about this place for a long time. Recently, when I was in the O'hare airport dint miss my chance at trying this place. Indeed! I've to agree with him! Their chipotle chicken sandwich was so good both inside and out! Outer bread was so fresh and warm. The fillings was equally fresh and so delicious! Its an ultimate sandwich before catching the flight! They have both seating area with bar and a to go counter. There was a line at the to go counter. It took me about 30 mins to place the order and getting my order. As I dint have enough time I could only eat half of the sandwich and had the other half on the flight. The short ribs over rice was really good. The short ribs were perfectly braised and topped with a tasty green sauce. I mixed everything together and went to town.
