I didn't know what to expect but OMG good good good. I ordered an asada huarache and what I like was the actual huarache masa was not overly thick like some places do them. It was nice and thin. I ordered something through postmates and I received the order but it was prepared wrong. The postmates driver did not request specially what I ordered. I normally love their posole but this morning I was very disappointed. I purchased posole right before the Dodger game, figuring I would enjoy it while watching opening day, but was disappointed of the lack of meat. It hardly had meat and I mean hardly. To be honest, I aways kinda ignored the existence of Tortilla Grill over the years but I was recently referred by my grandfather. After mistakenly going on a Monday (closed on Monday's) I finally had the opportunity to try them out for a late lunch today. I usually give restaurants a few visits before writing a review but I'm fairly confident the service I received today is consistent across the board. I ordered two hard shell tacos, one chicken and one carnitas ($1.99 each). My father ordered two soft tacos, one carne asada and one carnitas ($1.59 each). We got an order of chips to share as well. I had a mini heart attack when we were given a basket with a very small portion of chips as they are priced at $2. But they do refill your chips if necessary so that was nice. My tacos were very good. The carnitas were incredibly juicy, the chicken had a lot of flavor. I normally have to be in the mood for it but the guacamole they apply to their hard shell tacos was fantastic! It was somewhat thinner and not too overbearing. The salsa bar was average. I would have liked to see more options as far as consistency is concerned. There are four different types but all are watery. A chunky salsa of some sort, even if it were simply pico de gallo, would be a great addition to the salsa bar. The service was exceptional. I was able to quickly place my order and received it promptly. Everything was hot and fresh. A woman checked on us often and asked how we were doing. No one made any obnoxious small talk with us which is a very admirable quality that I wish more servers would acquire. :P As a side note, when I asked my father what his rating would be for Tortilla Grill he said 3.5. So I was especially amused when I read the review left by Matthew G. All in all, I enjoyed my meal here and will probably return for that marvelous guac! read more

Came here for lunch the other day and then after taking a bite of that Carne Asada Torta I began wondering why it took me so darn long to get here in the first place. Tightly packed inside a tiny plaza containing a Liberty Tax and McDonalds, the parking situation can be pretty rough during the lunch rush hour. Featuring a large menu of taco truck favorites, you have your choice of either combo-ing it which will include rice and beans, or you can simply go a la carte. This time around I went for a Carne Asada Soft Taco, a Carne Asada Torta, and a Coke. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and offered me chips while I waited for my order. The sauce bar features three levels of heat, with explanations from mild to super hot. My order came not too long after paying, and after munching through the taco and torta both of them immediately reminded me of the Taco Truck near my last job down in Van Nuys. The items are a tad pricier than what you would expect at a Taco Truck. However, the fresh ingredients, the delicious food, and the fast and friendly service are well worth it. I then found out that refills to sodas are free and they do take credit cards (no minimum charge found). My order ended up costing about $9.01 total. Your mileage may vary but I left feeling very satisfied without that overly greasy feeling. Tortilla Grill is an excellent option for Mexican dining and they are fast enough for those workers who only have an hour lunch break. I cannot recommend this place enough and I hope to give them more of my business before I leave the AV for good. read more

I first visited Tortilla Grill about 4 months ago and have gone at least 6 times since then and I have yet to be disappointed . From my first visit the owners were very welcoming. Since it was our first time there the owners offered suggestions and even gave us a free sample of their green posole! Yes, green posole with bacon. BACON! I've been hooked on that thing since the first time I tried it and get it every time I go no matter how hot it is outside. I've so far tried their chiles rellenos, carne asada, chorizo and al pastor tacos, carne asada gorditas, torta and mojarra frita (fried tilapia) and they were all tasty and would definitely recommend them. Just be careful with the chorizo tacos, they're spicy and you don't need to add salsa unless you like your food extra spicy. They offer regular fountain drinks, Jarritos, Mexican Coke as well as aguas frescas like horchata and jamaica. Their salsa bar is always full of tasty salsas to add to your meal or to dip your chips in that range from mild to very hot. The restaurant is clean, the food is always fresh, and the owners are friendly and care about their customers, which are all reasons to keep coming back. Only downside is that they share the parking lot with McDonald's, a nail salon, a hair salon and a Chinese takeout place so sometimes parking can be a hassle, but the food is worth it! read more

It was my first time eating here and my favorite was the ceviche tostada. Ordered some chicken and steak tacos and couldn't finish it all. They are very generous with the ceviche serving. My wife and I have been going to this place for the last 3 years. Recently the food has been horrible. We were there two weeks ago and the food was so awe fool it wasn't eatable. In the past year the prices were raised and the quality of food went down. They tried to save by collecting cash only, which didn't work. Now a days everybody takes credit cards. We ordered chicken flautas, and torts with a taco and I needed a large coke!. The order was up pretty quick. The salsa bar was clean and really nice. Pickled onions! The flautas are big. 2 big ginormous cut in half. I mean these were 9" x 2.5" x 1.5" stuffed with chicken, BUT glistening with grease. I just couldn't get passed that part.
