I've gone here several times and the food taste different everytime. At first 2 yrs ago super salty meat. Then a few months ago, very flavorful good portion. Now a few days ago. Upon reading fellow yelpers reviews, I got convinced to head here and believe me did not disappoint at all. Tried their Al Pastor, carne asada and lengua and wow! So mouthwatering delicious, everything from the flavorful, juicy, meat to the delectable salsas. It's a very generous serving as I dislike places who are stingy. However I'm disappointed at the fact that twice I have Order their Pozole and when I come home anopen it it's more hominy and very little meat. I called the manager he told me to come and he give a new one. That was in Sept today I Order two Pozoles and again I get Hominy, I call to speak to manager he said it's the spoon fault that I should ask for more meat instead of Hominy. I asked for Pozole! Not Hominy soup! In time where your helping out small business they should take better care of their customers. I will say that when we have eaten at their restaurant we had no problem. ON POINT BEST TACOS AL PASTOR and CARNE ASADA OH AND ALSO LOS TACOS DE PESCADO they are so good and the salsa that comes with the fish tacos ah so good! Salsa super duper spicy love it and the pickle jalapeños amazing! In general, all the food is good totally recommend this place. I've been to this place a few times and the food is always solid. The portions are good for the price point. You're looking at about $15 per plate which isn't bad but a little higher than your average fast Mexican food spot. Most recently tried their Cali Fries and was very impressed. These are definitely worth the price for how big the portion was. The fries were made to order and the quac and cheese all tasted very fresh. Burritos are huge here but only come with meat, rice and beans. Service is always quick and it's super convenient to be able to call ahead of time and quickly pick up your order. The restaurant itself is a bit small so take out is often the way to go. Breakfast is very popular here during the weekends and rightfully so. Great menudo and the machaca is some of best I've had. The horchata is also solid - I always order one when I come by. The entrees/meats here always have great flavor but the rice and beans tend to fall short which keeps this as a 4/5 for me. Definitely give this place a try over Mi Ranchito though if you're in the AV for a quick and tasty bite. read more

Since the end of COVID-19 and the apparent sale of the restaurant, the food quality has decreased severely. The last time I was there, I go the normal Asada Taco & Burrito combo with rice and beans. I used to be able to separate the flavors. Now it ALL tastes like beef grease mixed with hot sauce. It used to be a great place, but I will find a local taco stand. The last time I'll ever eat here. For starters, the meat always tastes like it was marinated in sink water. The refried beans also seem watered down. I went for some fish tacos and I was extremely disappointed. I could tell the breaded fish pieces came out of a freezer. It also seems like the cook had torn the fried fish fillet apart by hand and then put a mountain of chopped ICEBERG LETTUCE to cover the cheap pre-breaded, pre-frozen fish. The food here doesn't taste authentic at all. They got to be getting their recipes from Rachel Ray or something. read more

First time here and the line was out the door....this is already a good sign when its during the week at lunch time.People are actually willing to wait! The staff was helpful in answering questions so that I can make the best decision. Their salsa bar was cool, lots of tasty options depending on your level of heat tolerance you have. I also noticed they kept and eye out for people who left tables, staff would go and clean up right away. Talk about being on top of things and taking care of customers. Right on Tortilla Grill you show great professionalism. As for the food.... can I just say YUM! Here's what was ordered for my kiddo and I --- Tacos de asada, my little guy devoured them. Relleno Burrito Mojado, this was so tasty. It was a Chile relleno with all the works that just happens to be inside a burrito with refried beans... OMG!!! Lol. My sister called using her phone and they answered right away and took the order. I was on hold for no reason. Then to top it off, the lady who I spoke to took my order and gave me a total and said it would be ready in 30 minutes. I go to pick it up and they said they have NO order for me, that they don't even have record of it. They said they could take my order now and start making it but I already waited 30 + minutes and they weren't even super busy. I left and went somewhere else. This is a great, authentic Mexican restaurant here in the AV. Their beans are super legit, and you can tell it's real throughout with anything you order. My go-to items are their burritos, and for breakfast their Huevos Rancheros do not disappoint, (just make sure you eat in, the fresh fried tortilla on the bottom doesn't hold up to go). Excellent place. The only other thing I could possibly complain about is that I don't completely love their salsas, but that's personal preference, and they're not bad at all. read more

Money is really tight with most people right now. So when someone decides to splurge and purchase a nice meal you are expecting/ hoping to have a great experience with the food and service. I used to come here all the time and it was an easy 5 stars but I haven't been in a while and the food is absolutely horrible now! I got a wet carne asada burrito and it tasted rancid. Something was seriously off. I was so unhappy, $14 for a burrito (no combo or drink) and it was BAD! I had to force myself to eat it because I didn't want to waste the food or be difficult and ask for a refund! The meat was low quality, chewy, and no flavor. The sauce tasted like it went bad and the cheese on top was weird and didn't melt. The bathrooms are also dirty (which means the kitchen probably is too). I would skip this place if possible, theres so many great authentic Mexican restaurants out here with NICE customer service and GOOD food! read more

This is my very first time visiting Tortilla Grill. I called about 4 times and got what sounded like a personal voicemail, however based on reviews I was determined to get my order in!! Finally I get a nice gentleman who quickly takes my order and quotes 20 minutes for pickup. I get in and out quickly and the staff was polite. I get home and the food looked great! The bottom line... I felt the sauce was too thick or perhaps there should have been sauce or salsa inside of the burrito, because it seemed dry for a "wet" burrito. read more
