    Pad Thai
    Erin C.

The food was a bit pricey for the portion size, but tasted good. The amount of protein was a little disappointing as well. Service was very courteous and our food came out quickly. The restaurant was clean and inviting. We tried the chicken parm, the spicy beef noodles, chicken noodle soup, and pad Thai and all were delicious.

I'm normally a fan of Noodles, however, this trip was a disappointment. Had the Penne Rosa with Parmesan Crusted Chicken. Ordinarily it has a good balance of veggies, pasta and chicken. Today, there were only 4 spinach leaves and 3 mushroom slices in the whole bowl, and the chicken was overdone. My son had the spaghetti with meatballs and the pasta had very little sauce. When we asked for a little more, we were told there would be an extra charge. Also, the water from the beverage dispenser always came out flavored - like the dispenser hadn't been cleaned.

Previous: from 6 months ago--Food is good and fresh. The take out wait is a little longer than some of the other Noodles locations, but I guess it's worth it as the end result is yummy. I'll be back. Friendly workers From today (01/13/19): this place has severely declined. I came in and ordered a truffle Mac, baguette and potstickers to go. It took 2 and a half minutes (I counted) for someone to come to the register. I understand that is a short amount of time but when you have 2 people standing behind the counter (grill area) babbling on with their backs faced to you it's frustrating. The lady who took my order was friendly and all. She actually walked in from the back area. Neither of two turned around until she started talking. Either way. There were stains on the carpets and smudges over the doors and windows. I'd never dine in here. My food was made to order but the tastes seemed a bit off for the truffle Mac. The potstickers seemed okay though. Anyways... I will probably not be back to this location in the future. Other shops are much cleaner and updated. Oh, and that stool in the picture (or lack their of) is not acceptable. And unsafe. What if a kid had walked into it? Not me.

I first came to this location and tried noodles and co for the first time about 3 years ago. The food was amazing and the place looked great. I'm not sure what happened over the years but this place looks and smells terrible now. The food's quality has declined completely and I'm really sad about it. I'm not sure if it's new management that changed everything, but I hope this noodles and co will be restored because I love eating here. This was my mac n cheese from a few days ago... utterly disappointed. You can tell whoever made it couldn't care less.

Food and drink was fine but the staff needs work with customer service. We were rushed and the cashier was rude. Going through the motions and slamming cups down to us. His name was "Brian is Awesome".... Brian wasn't so awesome today.

We both ordered the 8 oz filet mignon, and it did not disappoint -- cooked perfectly and super flavorful. Her daughter got the kids steak and fries -- the steak was great, fries were just decent. Now let's talk about the appetizer... the shrimp with the Parmesan crust? 10/10. Easily the star of the night. We also shared a bottle of Riesling, which was only about $24, making it super affordable. Service was lovely. The staff checked in just enough without being overbearing, and they even surprised us with a birthday brownie, which was such a sweet touch. The ambiance was also really nice -- one of those versatile spots where you can dress it up or keep it casual. I had on a tailored sweatsuit, my sister wore jeans, and we still felt perfectly in place. It's definitely a spot you could come to for a date night, family dinner, or even a corporate happy hour. Overall, our bill came out to around $160, which felt completely worth it for the quality, service, and experience. I'd absolutely come back.

So wrong!! A REAL Chicago pizza is basically a full-blown cheese & toppings filled pie with a thick bottom crust, generous amount of cheese and the sauce piled on top like the grand finale. We stopped at Giordano's in Gurnee and ordered a 14-inch build-your-own w beef, mushrooms, and onions. "Large" apparently means "feeds a small village" because this thing was massive, easily enough for a family of 5!!! Every slice came with that dramatic, slow-motion cheese pulls that make everyone at the table stop talking and start taking pictures!!! The ingredients tasted fresh, the cheese was gloriously gooey, and each slice was hearty enough to qualify as a meal and a half. We also grabbed the mozzarella triangles and buffalo wings bc apparently self-control wasn't invited to dinner. The mozzarella triangles were crispy, cheesy little pockets of happiness, and the wings brought just the right amount of buffalo kick. Both were absolutely delicious and disappeared way faster than they should have. The service was fantastic too!! Drinks never stayed empty for long, and the staff was attentive throughout the meal. We walked out stuffed, happy, and officially educated on what REAL Chi-town pizza is supposed to be!! If you're visiting Chicago, Giordano's is absolutely a must!!!

That may just be my palate changing over the years, but I'm giving it a higher rating overall because the majority of my family enjoyed it, and for most of them, this was their first experience with Chicago deep-dish pizza. Pro tip: If you're planning to treat your sailor here after PIR, come as soon as possible after graduation. The restaurant quickly fills up with sailors and their families, which can lead to longer wait times and slower service - and time during Liberty is very limited.

My husband and I had a reservation on Valentine's night and it felt like our server was trying to rush us out to turn the table. Between sitting down and eating three courses we were in the restaurant for less than an hour. Our server was good though. As far as our food, it was just ok. It looked amazing, and the portions were large, but the actual flavor of the food was just a little bland. Each dish felt like it was missing something. First, they bring you out a fresh loaf of crusty bread but they don't offer any olive oil or butter to dip it in. The bruschetta was missing the balsamic drizzle and also needed more olive oil. The wedge salad was good. The pollo vesuvio was good but was a bit bland, and the short rib raviolis were also a bit lacking. We couldn't really pinpoint what was missing in our entrees, but they were both definitely lacking some sort of seasoning that would have turned them from ok to very good. For dessert we got the cannolis. Big mistake. They were the worst cannolis that I have ever had. The shells were absolutely awful- They were very hard and had a bitter, almost chemical taste. The upside was that the filling was good. This restaurant has a lot of potential with a few tweaks to some of the recipes. I'm not sure that we'll be back though, which is disappointing because I really wanted to love it.

They take longer to make but they are economical and extremely nutritious. You can control the salt and fat content of your soup. Among my current favorites are the Ski Country Chili Mix and the Beef Barley Stew Mix. After a while, you begin to create your own version of these. I'll often substitute a lower fat meat like ground turkey or different vegetables than called for. My variations are a creative way to make the soup mine. Frontier includes the seasoning packets so you don't have to worry about that. I love adding unique twists like wine or sherry to enhance the flavors. My only complaint about Frontier is that they stop making some of the recipes, ones I loved so much. For instance the Red Bean Gumbo or the Wheat Berry Chili are no longer available. The New Mexico Mesa Stew was changed to an "instant" variety and it is not nearly as good! They still have great soups available. Try a few of the hearty ones. You'll love them.

Among the many things we scooped up were two Pacific Rim soup mixes, because I've always been a soup guy. Last month I whipped up a batch of their Pacific Rim Gingered Carrot & Coconut Soup. I had to add 2 whole pounds of cut up carrots, four cups of broth, a TB of brown sugar, and a can of unsweetened coconut milk. It went on the stovetop and an hour later (with an assist from my immersion blender) it was ready. It yielded 8 servings and was pretty good. Today I cooked up my second batch of their soup -this one had the tongue twisting name of "Nebraska Barn Raising Split Pea". I had to add 6 cups of broth and I swapped out some diced chicken from the freezer instead of the bacon they suggested. This time I made it in a crockpot instead of on the stovetop. You can either cook it on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 8 hours. I put it on low in the morning and by the time lunch rolled around at 1:00 i checked it and it was perfect. I was super happy with the way it came out and after it cools down I'll package it into some containers for refrigerating and freezing.
