I had to move to the midwest against my will (for school), and decided to check this place out after coming down with a cold overnight and craving some hot soup somewhere. i got the chicken noodle soup with a side of mac n cheese and a drink for $10 and some change. let me be the first to tell you (if you didn't know like me) that this is the absolute most TERRIBLE fast food in existence. the noodles were huge and couldn't even fit on the spoon and they were cooked for less time than al dente (including the mac n cheese noodles). the soup was boring, the chicken was rubbery and hard, there was a total of 1/16 of a carrot in there and was overall disgusting. the mac n cheese had potential if it wasn't for the rock hard noodles and absurd price. i should've known better when i saw a menu item about "korean steak" (!!!? you mean ... bulgolgi...?) at a noodle place. panera is literally across the street, save your money and tastes buds and go there instead. i will never be back. read more

I don't know what happened to this Gurnee location, but it's really gone down hill. I ordered online & went to pick up at the correct time. I had to wait 35 minutes to get my food. The food was room temperature at best. The buttered noodles didn't have butter. They were clumped together & dry. While I was sitting there waiting, I saw an employee tell one of the cooks that a meal had an ingredient that wasn't supposed to be there. I watched the cook dump the order into a pan, pick out the ingredient, & then put it in a container to give back to the other employee. What if that was an allergy? The menu has changed quite a bit over the years since I've been going, but for the better I would say. The menu includes some more fun and unique dishes and the items are easily customizable. You order at the counter, take your number, and wait for your food. Super simple. I would say a great stop for someone looking for a casual and quick pasta meal. I am a huge fan of the mac n cheese with parmesan crusted chicken...pretty much been my go to for years. However, this time I will have to say they skimped on the sauce and cheese a little bit. I'm normally a fan of Noodles, however, this trip was a disappointment. Had the Penne Rosa with Parmesan Crusted Chicken. Ordinarily it has a good balance of veggies, pasta and chicken. Today, there were only 4 spinach leaves and 3 mushroom slices in the whole bowl, and the chicken was overdone. My son had the spaghetti with meatballs and the pasta had very little sauce. It took 2 and a half minutes (I counted) for someone to come to the register. I understand that is a short amount of time but when you have 2 people standing behind the counter (grill area) babbling on with their backs faced to you it's frustrating. The lady who took my order was friendly and all. She actually walked in from the back area. Neither of two turned around until she started talking. Either way. There were stains on the carpets and smudges over the doors and windows. I'd never dine in here. My food was made to order but the tastes seemed a bit off for the truffle Mac. The potstickers seemed okay though. Anyways... I will probably not be back to this location in the future. Other shops are much cleaner and updated. I first came to this location and tried noodles and co for the first time about 3 years ago. The food was amazing and the place looked great. I'm not sure what happened over the years but this place looks and smells terrible now. The food's quality has declined completely and I'm really sad about it. So, I used to hate coming to N & C as we ate pasta already within a week and coming here to eat pasta again did not suit well to my already existing obese lifestyle. This recently changed and I really do not mind when my kids mention NC. The reason for this change is cause they have introduced "Zoodles" which is Zucchini noodles. At this visit I had the Japanese Pan Noodles but replaced the noodles with zoodles. It was awesome. Kids loves their Mac and cheese. And we always get their cheesy bread. I Paid 12 frickin dollars for a Wisconsin mac and cheese with the chicken. the mac and cheese was literally dried noodles with not one shred of cheese. they were cold and barely cooked. the chicken was 5 DOLLARS. a few pieces of my chicken when i bit into them, it was ice cold. the bowl was half empty when i got it soooo why did i pay 12$ for a half full bowl??? As an annoying calorie counter these days, I've come to really appreciate Noodles & Company for its fast and healthier options, and therefore am raising my rating from 3 to 4 stars. I could have a Med salad everyday and not get tired of it, and adequately satisfy my carb cravings at the same time, all for just a couple hundred calories. I love it! It's lettuce/romaine, a small amount of cavatappi pasta, feta, kalamata olives, tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers and a slightly zippy yogurt/feta dressing I could put on ANYTHING. :) Even the smalls are a pretty good size and I don't feel like I'm missing out. I've also cut back on my meat intake, so it's nice to have vegetarian options that taste good, and that I can somewhat sell my hubby on. Having said that...My husband started getting the meatball sub and I found those meatballs to be surprisingly delicious. I still like all the soups, and the peanut sauté pasta is one of my favorite pastas there, and there are several more favorites as well. Their website and menu make it fairly simple now to customize your own meal based on your specific needs. And most importantly, I like the food. :) Make no mistake, however, the sodium WILL kill you. ;) So choose carefully or avoid if you're in a low sodium diet. read more

I ate here with a few friends before we went to see a play. It was my first time eating at this franchise. Truffle mac & cheese (around $9 after tax for the regular size) - 2 stars. The portion was enough for two people. It came topped with shredded cheese, bread crumbs, etc. The cheese was an eggshell color, so not the radioactive orange of instant mac haha. But the flavor fell flat, a bland cheesiness. I was bored with it after a few bites. When you order for dining-in, you're given a number, seat yourself, and the food arrives at your table. While we waited for our food I took my daughter to the bathroom to wash up. (The shape of the bathroom hasn't changed since my last review...) We had a weird experience here, but I'm willing to give it another shot. It was *freezing* in the restaurant. Literally, it was colder in the restaurant than it was outside. Everyone was wearing jackets or coats as they ate, which we somehow didn't notice until we sat down. We also must have come in right after a rush because all of the unoccupied tables in the dining area were dirty. We're not shy -- we cleaned one off ourself. The Coke Freestyle machine was out of several options. This is my biggest pet peeve with these machines -- they're fun and people love them, but I get the impression they're cumbersome to maintain. When our food was delivered, my order was wrong. I ordered the Asian Chopped Chicken Salad, but there was no chicken. I pointed it out to the food runner who brought our meal to us, who said he would take care of it, but he never came back to the table. I sent a note to the manager via the company's website, and he was kind enough to mail us some coupons for free meals. We'll try it again and I'll re-review. read more

I Ordered curbside pickup through their website for my lunch break. For some reason when I submitted my order it said an error occurred but I got alerted from my bank I got changed 2x. I called and spoke with Mikey she said just come on in and she would look at the bank statement on my phone. She asked what I ordered and I told her. I got there and showed Mikey my bank statement I was charged 4x by this time. She said the charges should disappear by the end of the day and that she would make my food right away I told her when I was on the phone I was going on my lunch break so I was surprised when I got there my food wasn't already ready. She said they would make my food quickly and I was their first priority. I waited and waited while they delivered food to other customers and finally started my order. I finally got my food and went to the car to quickly eat since I had to head back into work. I opened my food and saw my order was wrong and it had mushrooms in it. I called and spoke with the manager above Mikey and told him the whole situation and I couldn't have them remake the food or go somewhere else since I was out of time on my lunch and I would just have to eat around the mushrooms he apologized and stated he would mail me some free food cards. I ate around the mushrooms and within 5 minutes had a tingling sensation on my lips and they were swollen this lasted 3 hours. I waited in line to place an order and walked out not because of the wait but rather because as I was waiting the guy manning the cash register Brian was also finishing off the orders that were transferred to him. Which is fine, they are probably short-staffed like every other place. The issue I have is that he is handling money and then turning around walking past the food prep disposable gloves and reaching in to the dishes to grab them and add the last items and then putting on a lid - again all of this without gloves. The food will be placed on a sanitary rack for pickup but what about his dirty hands that just touched the food.
