Last visit, got their shoyu chicken ( teri burger as well ) for takeaway - quite good. I remembered to bring enough cash, as it's cash only. Visited just before 500a on a Thursdat. There aren't many eateries that open before 500a let alone at 500a.

Many people have been bragging about this place so I thought I would stop by. The first time I went I could not find it cause it was closed and there was no sign. I then went again and got there at about 11 am and they were already sold out of their food. I really got curious now as I was standing there and saw some people still coming by to buy what ever was left over. Today I came early and bought chowfun & bbq chicken & eggroll and boy was I surprised. The taste was out of this world. The chowfun really had a taste from each of my bite that was so good. The eggroll had a slight sweetness from each bite and blew my mouth and mind. The bbq chicken was moist and soft and I would really taste the quality as it was so good. Now I can undestand why people were keep coming here for their food, which didn't seem much when you are looking at it from outside and inside.

Solid okazuya with the friendliest service and parking right in front. The baked chicken is my favorite. The teri hamburger and egg are both very sweet and flavorful. And I also like the hash and chow fun. Not a huge selection, but you don't need one when everything you have is good :) We usually drop by around 7am for takeout and there will be a steady stream of folks but not a flood, e.g., 1 or 2 people ahead of us and then another 1 or 2 behind by the time we leave.

Toshi's! One of those old school, hole-in-the-wall okazuya places and a favorite among my coworkers. This place has that real family business appeal to it. The food is displayed in the window and there are parking stalls right off of King Street in front of the entrance. Most importantly, the food is good! I especially like the chow fun and baked chicken. The noodles are a bit on the sweet side (not a bad thing) and the chicken is nicely browned which a welcomed change from standard fried chicken. Also very good are the teri hamburger, the egg, and the shoyu chicken. The gentleman that works here is very nice and friendly. Cash only, and be careful if when backing out of the parking stalls onto King Street. The food comes on paper plates and is wrapped in butcher's paper. This is a unique touch that adds to the character of this delightful Kalihi okazuya establishment.

Sooooo good! Chow fun, hash, the egg and musubi. Can't beat the originals. Service is fast. Bring cash because they do not accept card. Parking is alright, normally there is a couple stalls. Right across the street from Osungs.

Always on my Radar finally got to try um. They open at 4:45am so I stopped by before work and I ordered egg omelette, Teri burger, hash, chow fun and musubi. For $13.95 well worth it cash only and I talked to the owner they actually close at 10:00am before they used to close @ 12n. Also they are close Saturday,Sunday and Monday . The selection has a lot of variety to choose from especially they offer lots of fish entrees. From Saba, ahi, Salmon the only down fall I can see is that they don't sell any tempura items. Parking available right in front the establishment roughly about 3-4 stalls . Support local and small businesses

Classic old school local okazuya! This is one the best local style places to get a quick breakfast for a good price! Pro tip, you have to go early as they run out of everything pretty quick! My go to's are the fried chicken, chow fun, teri hamburger, and the shoyu chicken. I've tried quite a few other items but those are my go to's. Parking does suck and is a little hard to come by but it's worth it! Support our local small family owned businesses! Need to keep these places around for future generations to enjoy!

Hands down to delicious, traditional style okazu. Decided to combine my breakfast and lunch in one. There are a few diagonal parking spaces fronting the shop. I no longer see Toshi's sign unless I'm blind as a bat this morning. Look for the yummy delicatessen food fronting glass display. Only can fit one customer inside at a time. Arrived at 7 a.m. to find only plain rice triangles, corned beef hash, tamagoyaki, shoyu chicken, hamburger patty, and a few pieces of saba. All out of chow fun for the time being; however, male worker informed me if I wanted fresh chow fun, wait time is 15 mins. I politely declined because I wanted to arrive early at work. Corned beef hash: More hash than corned beef. So soft. Great from toddlers to elderly to enjoy. Tasty! Tamagoyaki: That's the biggest piece I've ever come across at okazuya or delicatessen. Perfect with diced spam and green onions. Yummy! Must have! Shoyu chicken: Moist, tender, perfectly cooked, and not salty. Haven't had this in years. Brought back fond childhood memories. Hamburger patty: Sweet and salty contrast of sauce for homemade, thick hamburger with minced onions. Love the courteous customer service from gentleman and origami style folding of white thick paper. Legit okazu! Don't expect tempura. If you're an egg or corned beef hash fan, must stop by for a visit. Business is open at 4:45 a.m. Perfect for early risers or finishing shifts in the wee hours.

Old school okazuya...food displayed in the window. Small but simple and sufficient variety of food choices. Friendly quick service. Parking in front. Maybe about 5 spaces depending on the size of the vehicle. Small establishment, I think 4-5 people can line up inside if I remember correctly when I went the last time. Order my usual...egg omelette, hash, Teri hamburger, hotdog and salad. My favorites are the egg omelette, hash and salad. The egg omelette is alittle on the sweet side but not overly sweet. The hash is larger, softer and not as dense as the other places. I think the salad has alittle sweetness too and not a lot of mayonnaise just the right amount. I've had everything they make and it's all delicious but I stick with my favorites unless ordering for family.

Its run by a japanese grandma and her middle aged son. Always friendly, delicious, everything is homemade and very cozy old style Hawaii vibes. There is no dine in, no seating. Because they do everything themselves they can run out by midmorning due to its popularity! The parking is drive-up slanted stalls right off the main road so parking can be linited and backing up into traffic can be tough. The okazuya items are ala carte and put on paper plates wrapped in paper. They offer chilled canned drinks and japanese potato/mac salad and namasu (pickled carrot radish cucumber) they put in mini trays wrapped in paper and foil to keep chill. The items can be seen by the huge picture window by the screen door. They don't use MSG because I'm never thirsty but the food is so flavorful! My faves are the tamago (which has some mest and veggie bits but still sweet), hotdog, teri patty, potato hash, shoyu chicken (so juicy and crisp skin!), namasu, potato mac salad and classic nori musubi! Its all worth it!

the sweetest lady behind the counter- reminds me of my obaachan in so many ways. kind and caring and delicious okazuya for you plates. what you see in the window is what u choose from. dont ask or dont care the price. 100% support these places or they will disappear. soft sweet savory shoyu chicken- meat falls off da bone. lightly floured and flavored fried chicken- one bite took me back to my childhood lunch at grandmas. tamago- slightly sweetened and meticulously slow cooked for that even texture. chow fun- chewy flat noodles with veggies so good teri-hamburger patty- so good with the musubi sweet shoyu mirin sugar hamburger patty. dont forget the potato mac! love this place! clean, small spot, parking right in front, cash only.

LP from Thursday, 5/12. Talk about a nostalgic moment especially since I haven't been here in years. I've been a patron here since elementary school and used to stop by almost every a.m. when I was in high school. My fave was the teriyaki hamburger, chow fun and rice. It's exactly like I remember which I really appreciate. Small family owned shop with quality food. I hope they continue to thrive over the years. Will be back on my next visit :-)

I went to the shop yesterday afternoon and they were closed. Called the shop and the lady said "We don't do night time anymore". This was 7/19/2023.

It feels like one of those places that has become trendy because someone on Instagram popularized it. The sandwich was good but not great. The lettuce was turning brown. In my opinion, a really great sandwich excels because you can taste the quality, freshness, and flavor of its individual ingredients. In my sandwich, the turkey was flavorless and it felt like they used a strong, heavy sauce to give it flavor, which to me does not make for a foodie destination, $15+ sandwich. Māla Market in Hawaii Kai remains, by far, my favorite sandwich. And given how long Sprout took, I could've driven to Hawaii Kai, gotten my sandwich, and driven back in less time.
