The Japanese owner is so friendly. I'm glad she's still open and operating. Haven't been back in years. She's expanded her menu to include ramens and bowls, not just sushi anymore. And lots of tables and seating. She got my order wrong. It's ok. I asked for a spicy spam handroll but she made me a salmon handroll instead. My son got one extra salmon roll. Everything was delicious and generous. The fish is not the "best" quality, of course, but it is good and oishi for a snack shop.

#43 for 2020 Craved for something light that would bring some energy before NY! Quaint shop offered yummy, light, tasty Cali Maki with fresh rice, nori, sesame seeds, avocado, cucumber, imitation crab, and shredded crab. Perfect to stop by on the way to work as this place opens early. There's also donburi, variety of entree bowls, and sushi platters. Courteous, efficient and quick customer service. Only accept VISA and MasterCard. Score quick one vehicle parking in front of the shop, walk, quickly get dropped off in an adjacent parking lot, find on street, metered or free parking.

Oishī !!! Amazing flavor!!! This place was recommended by a friend who asked me "If I ever had authentic Japanese food?" Told him I have no idea what I know is whatever is here on Oahu, I haven't been to Japan!" . And Let me tell you, Soooooo Ono!! I got the Kim Chee Udon and Takoyaki.

The food quality at this little place is excellent. The owner is super friendly as well. I just hope they can extend their hour to 8 pm.

So happy this place is still around. It's been my first time back this year. Their spicy ahi is always a go to. I always get their spicy ahi nigiri but this time I got their bowl. Never had it before and I wasn't disappointed. It doesn't actually come in a bowl but in a plate. There is a bed of rice under the layer of lettuce. It's topped with the spicy ahi and cucumber. On the side you get wasabi and ginger with a packet of kikkomon shoyu. The spicy ahi isn't spicy to begin with but it's the type of heat that lingers in your mouth and builds up. But still absolutely can't stop setting it and craving it the next day. They do both take out and indoor dinning. They have a lot of grab and go snacks, icecream, two fridges full of drinks. They even offer party platters at reasonable prices. Their menu is very extensive and full of sushi but they do have meat and breakfast options as well. Parking is right up front or on the side of the building is visitors parking although it's a bit tight. Definitely call ahead and just pick up front.

Ordered 2 sushi platters The family variety platter and the spam and Egg. Both platters were delicious and generously portioned. This mom and pop shop is the best place to find some good food...we'll definitely return for more.

During work days, this is my favorite lunch break place to go! My coworkers tease me, because when we decide on where to go for lunch, I'm always yelling, "Blvd Snack!" And my coworkers say, "you not tired of this place?" And I say with confidence! "No!" I can eat here everyday. This little mom and pop store is my casual Japanese eat and go place, especially if I'm on a time budget to get back to work. What I usually do is call in my order and then I give them some time, and then I will leave my office to head over, because they do take some time to cook as each order is made to order. My ultimate favorite is their Chicken Katsu Donburi ($8.95). So delicious, actually now that I think about it, it's my favorite place to go for Katsu Don, it's always given nice & hot (temperature hot), the taste is delicious, and the portion size is pretty good! I try not to eat too much during lunch break, because I may have a Kanak Attack, so only on some occasions I'll treat myself by adding on the Kiss of Fire (Spicy Ahi over California Shrimp Tempura) $9.95, but I kindly ask them to sub the shrimp for California Roll since I don't eat shrimp, and they are nice to substitute it. I enjoy coming here, because it's clean, prices are pretty reasonable, the staff are very hard working and very kind (the man even hands me my food if I'm sitting in the restaurant), and the food are fresh! I love supporting them, because I see them every day super early in the morning working so hard, never taking a break. I am so grateful for them, because they allow me delicious Japanese food to help sustain me at work in the afternoon. They truly make my work days a blessed and happy day! Thank you Blvd Snack!

I can honestly tell you that everything is good here. The ingredients are so fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed my meal here. I had the Tiger Maki and the Cali Maki. Portions are filling. Prices are decent. So ono! Will definitely return.

Generous portion of spicy ahi salad. Fresh ingredients.

Got my katsu fix again today. I love everything that comes with the katsu bento. Generous amount of chicken katsu cooked just right every time. Katsu sauce is good, tonkatsu sauce. Not da overly sweet watery kind. Even the rice is good lol. Cooked perfectly, not hard and dry like some other fast food places. Bento comes with great sides which includes mini spring roll, edamame, potato salad, pickled veggie, and a piece of shrimp katsu. Sometimes they switch up some of the sides and u might get taegu and fish cake instead. But they're all great. AND did I mention this bento includes 2 pieces shrimp tempura! That's why I keep coming back cause it's so worth it for $11.

    1. Location & Parking This store is a hidden gem. Located right across the street from HCC. There's a small parking lot. Entrance is on Dillingham Blvd. 2. Service I came here on a Saturday at the lunch hour and it wasn't busy at all. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by a nice Korean lady. She took my order and it was ready in about 5 mins. 3. Interior There is a very small dining area that can fit about 15 people max. The tables are small hence why the chairs are situated in a staggered fashion. It was a little weird not having my friend sit right across from me. There's also a TV. At the time I went, I was watching a football game. 4. Food Kiss of fire ($9.95) - A california roll with shrimp tempura inside. Topped off with spicy ahi. The spicy ahi was spicier than your average spicy ahi and tasted fresh. The shrimp tempura was nice and crispy and wasn't oily at all. 5. Overall Don't be fooled by the outside appearance (it looks like an old convenience store). This store actually sells decent tasting sushi. Although it's on the pricier side, you can definitely taste the quality in the ingredients as compared to other cheap cheap sushi spots.

BLVD SNACK & Take-Out Sushi is a very tiny hole-in-the-wall shop located across the street from HCC. Amazingly for what little space they have to work with, the sushi is all made-to-order right behind the counter. Contrary to its name, don't expect a vast assortment of crack seed or related types of exotic specialty snacks, but more a selective, yet quite eclectic mix of nationally-distributed candies, chips, and other goodies on the shelf. The prepared Japanese foods are really the featured items here. The Temaki rolls are all super cheap,, running between 99 cents to $1.95 each, yet despite the budget price, really, really good! To note, the sushi rice is done to perfection, while the various fillings come across as very fresh and quite tasty. Note, they open very early at 6:30am Monday through Friday, where you can get the Breakfast Specials of Portuguese Sausage, Eggs, Tsukemono and Rice for just $4.00.

    New dining area after renovation.

+ Decent food quality + New dining area + Convenient especially for HCC students + They open early (sometimes just before 7am) - Staff isn't rude, but they aren't customer friendly - Overpriced I've been to Blvd Snacks a number of times and just came back after they newly renovated. I ordered a variety of handrolls, but I thought the rice had too much vinegar. I also ordered the shrimp balls however, and that made up for it because those were good. Nothing special overall, but still not a bad option.

Complimentary Year of the Pig towel--Happy New Year!!

I love this place! Spicy ahi is what I always get, and it is just the right amount of spicy. Workers are super welcoming and friendly (: The place is really clean and neat, and they have the TV playing in the background. They also give out random, unexpected gifts! Near Thanksgiving, I think, they gave me custard pie along with my order. Today, they gave me this cute towel with pigs on it as a way to celebrate the new year, year of the pig. They give great portions, appropriate amount of selection so that you're not standing there too long trying to think of what you want, and reasonable prices, especially for a small, local shop.
