I work across the River from the Laura St location located in the Vystar building so I decided to come here for lunch recently as we wanted a healthy option. Enter Tossgreen! If you have a hankering for a healthy light-ish lunch this is it. Before I get into the good stuff aka the food: they validate parking in the building!! The street parking is metered and can be hard to find so take advantage of the free parking! I opted for the curry cauliflower bowl and absolutely LOVED IT. I wish I had gotten a picture but it was so good that I gobbled it down before I even thought of it! I loved the contrast of the pickled vegetables and the roasted cauliflower. If you're feeling spicy you can change the chicken out from regular to spicy. My two colleagues both got the Thai crunch salad which they also really enjoyed. Tofu way too spicy! As vegans, we went out of our way to stop off and have lunch here and ordered the Asian Bowl. First, we asked if there were any spicy ingredients and were told there were not. Imagine our surprise when not only was the tofu spicy, it hurt our mouths and lips. When asked if there was any non flavored tofu to substitute, there was not, and we were offered ranch dressing to simmer the spice. Stopped in for the first time Wednesday and wish I never did. Not only did the tikka sauce taste like pure tomato sauce only, my stomach turned after a couple bites. I went back downstairs to speak to someone but by that time they were busy. I didn't have time to wait in line so I tossed it out and wrote them on Facebook and IG because their site doesn't have a contact us form. No one got back to me. I work in the Vystar building and Toss green is located inside the building! This is a savior when I leave my lunch at home. I enjoy their rice bowls and salads. They taste so fresh and are usually cut in front of you. There are so many health options to choose from. Similar to Chipotle but a healthier and fresher version! They even make smoothies, provide desserts and have quesadillas, rice bowl and salad options. You can also build your own. They have all types of rice substitutes such as quinoa, white rice, brown rice, pita, tortillas and chips. The flavor is absolutely amazing. They have sauces you can order in the side! Big things come in small packages, and so this establishment is no exception to the rule. Maybe because it's in walking distance or nit many places are open for breakfast with healthy options. Maybe I'm a little bias, any woo.. The space is small, however, tables seating and bar stools option as well. There is also a seating area outside, however, it isn't a part of their facility or you can go around the corner to Food Truck Valley, after you get your meal . You can see the menu as soon as you enter the building. Your order is taken and made right in front of you. You have the options to change or add to order. I had the Emperor which is fit for a Queen. I had mine made in a bowl, which comes with romaine lettuce, freshly grilled all-natural ancho chili chicken, brown rice, red and green peppers, black beans, red onions, corn, pico de gallo white extra sharp cheddar cheese topped with sour cream and smoky chipotle ancho vinaigrette;fresh squeeze lemon. The only reason I came to this salad place as opposed to getting a salad from numerous other places was the fact that they would chop and mix the salad all together with the dressing. I am extremely upset! I went to eat at this place (Laura Street location) and wanted to take an order of rice and chicken to go. Once I paid and packed my bowl, I realized there was less chicken than I expected, which is why I approached the person serving the chicken, named Jackie, and asked if she could give me more and that I will pay for the addition. She was very kind and added more chicken. However, when I went to pay, a person whom I assume was the manager started speaking to Jackie in front of everyone in a very disrespectful way because apparently, she made a mistake by adding more chicken. I told the manager that it was my fault and that I would pay for whatever the correct order should have been. The manager continued to disrespect Jackie for NO reason. When I was leaving, I thanked Jackie and honestly told her not to pay attention to that awful person. Immediately after, this person took Jackie to the back, locked her up, and continued to scold and speak to her in a very disrespectful manner. I understand that Jackie might have made a mistake (if she even did), but disrespectful treatment is absolutely unacceptable. This should be called no-vocado. They've out of avocados lately, but are not telling customers. My favorite salad is a key-vocado salad which means the main ingredient is the avocado. They have sold me this salad knowingly that there is no avacados. I've called the restaurant and have gone back. They have acknowledged this, and there is no reason given. After I've made a fuss, I've finally got a salad with avocado. It should have taken this long. read more

Consistently out of things every time I come. Staff is nice enough but paying $11 for a salad with the wrong cheese, the wrong dressing, and/or the wrong toppings every-single-time ain't it. I feel bad for the staff here because they're the middlemen constantly having to apologize. To whoever manages this place- get a handle on your inventory. There are times during my off days during the week that I just crave a delicious and quick lunch. Tossgreen is my #1 go-to spot for this. The service is fast, the salads are delicious and the ingredients are fresh...how much more could you ask for? I always swear I'm going to try something new, but always end up ordering the same thing because it's so good, the Ancient Greek salad (hold the olives, extra chickpeas in case you were wondering). You can tell that this is a frequent lunch spot for a lot of the downtown workers of Jacksonville. There's always a line of professionals waiting for good food. Delicious! And I will visit again. Big salad and a lot of flavor. Very yummy. I had the Steakhouse...and with that being said...if you LOVE steak, probably not the one for you. The steak is overcooked, without flavor and not a lot of it...the pieces should be bigger so the flavor of the steak isn't overpowered by the dressing and onions, but overall a delicious salad. My point, I could have ordered chicken or tofu and spent less. My other issue, is the red and green peppers are already mixed. I have to eat the green peppers or go without peppers altogether. Green peppers are the cheap veggie of the world. Not a fan but I can't avoid them because I love red peppers. My spinach wasn't choppped...made it difficult to eat. This place is amazing!!! There's very few lunch choices for vegetarians working downtown (and one that happens to be a picky eater too ;-) ) I get the classic vegetarian bowl made the old way, before the company completely changed it. As a regular customer, they know my order & start making it as soon as they see me walk in the door :) And there's always great customer service even when they are busy with a line out the door. There's plenty of choices for non-vegetarians as well. But as a vegetarian this is my top fave lunch spot downtown. read more

This place is my go to for salads when I'm working downtown. Their ingredients are fresh and their staff is quick and friendly! I have yet to veer outside the key-vocado salad with chicken. That's my fav so I can't recommend anything else but I'm sure it's all just as tasty! The line can get a little long during lunch but it is worth the wait. I have noticed that more healthy options are coming downtown, which is a nice change from a lot of the greasy and high-calorie sandwich shops. I have heard about Tossgreen from friends who have visited the Tinseltown and Town Center locations. They are correct in that the salads can be gigantic! I would suggest sticking with the regular salad size when ordering, and adding a smoothie or soup alongside if you are extra hungry. I decided on my first visit to stay safe and order the Ancient Greens salad, which comes with kalamata olives, spring mix, feta cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes, and a choice of dressing, which they recommend the lemon tahini vinaigrette. They compile the salad in an assembly line, similar to Kazu Sushi Burrito or Subway, then they toss it in a large bowl before putting it back in your salad container. This makes it nice, since your salad dressing is spread throughout the salad and not just sitting on top. The only thing I would mention is make sure you let them know you want a drink, since I was not offered the option. I was impressed with the quality and quantity of the salad, and I ate the whole thing without thinking! I will be back to try the seasonal options and the other varieties of salad. read more

Nothing special just downtown can't ever find parking so I hardly ever eat here a lot. I ordered a ranchero bowl and it was a little bland I had to use a lot of the vinaigrette for flavor. This is a good lunch date spotthe food options are all light and healthy, but not my favorite. read more

If you're really into salads made with Sysco ingredients, I guess this place is for you. Think Subway but with no bread. I doubt anything but the juice is made on site. I've been there for lunch and breakfast. First, the breakfast wraps are a little over $10. That's a lot. Second, they don't have coffee, but gladly offer $5 Espresso to accompany your $10 wrap. Think of all the breakfast food you could get at, say, Urban Grind right across the street for $15! Regardless, my $10 wrap was mostly spinach, the steak in it was at least a day old, and the roasted potatoes were essentially raw. Their lunch follows a similar pattern. While the veggies are typically crisp, expect nothing from the meats. Tough steak slivers and boiled chicken chunks is the best you'll get. The soups likely come from giant cans, since they taste just like Progresso. And the cookies will likely break your teeth. I'm not saying everything has to be farm to table, but a little effort on the "cooked" foods here would go a long way. I get that it's a salad place. If you offer cooked ingredients or dishes, I'm of the opinion they should be cooked in the same place I'm buying them. read more

This place is a bright, shining star of healthiness in a sea of indulgent Downtown lunch options. Some options on the menu are healthier than others, of course, but this place makes a delicious, fresh, and customizable salad for weekday lunchers. And the service is pretty fast considering that every time I go, it's slammed with a line out the door. They have a ton of staff working in an organized manner to get things done, and it works fairly well. There are a lot of different topping, protein, and dressing options, and the veggies always look fresh. The price is good too. It's hard to get a quality, filling meal under $10 these days. I was very disappointed when I went to Tossgreen. I got the Original Tex Mex. I added chicken. My bill was $14 and change. The toppings were scarce. What a drag. We were so excited about the location of the Tossgreen. The flavor would have been much better had they not given me a bowl of lettuce. That is not good business. I won't go back. read more
