The WORST carpet cleaner I've ever used. I bought a groupon for a 2 room cleaning. When we called to schedule, the first question he asked was if we were from groupon, then he told us we would have to wait a month. Then he shows up and tells my husband he is going to charge us extra because the room was over the square footage. So my husband measured for him, and it was under the square footage we bought the groupon for. Then he says he is going to charge us extra because the carpet was soiled. I'm sorry, isn't that why I bought a carpet cleaning. THEN he didn't even get the carpet clean!! It looks like he just vacuumed my carpets. Waste of money. I am really surprised at the reviews here! I found Total Carpet Care on Groupon while looking for someone to do a move-out cleaning in Reno. It was urgent because I needed to be out that week and waited until the last minute to book carpet cleaning. He was able to get me in that week, and honored the Groupon price without me having to actually purchase the Groupon. He came within the hour that he said he would, and the carpet looked great! So much so that my property manager asked for the company information so that he can refer his other tenants to them. I hope other people will give them a shot. read more

Bought carpet cleaning "deal" through Groupon and was very disappointed. I buy from Groupon all the time, including a previous purchase of carpet cleaning from another service provider (Evergeen), and didn't think I'd be this disappointed with the utter lack of quality work. The job that Total Carpet Care did was sub-par and that's me being kind as I don't think yelp would take kindly to the excrement expletive I'd prefer to use to describe the quality, or lack thereof, of work that Total Carpet Care provided. I was looking for a way to leave a review on Groupon, if only to ward off potential buyers from making the same mistake, but I don't see it. Hopefully, potential buyers will look for reviews online and find mine and the others who have given honest opinions about the poor, poor, shoddy job that Total Carpet Care provided to my carpet. Unfortunately it seems like some businesses overload themselves when they post a Groupon or a LivingSocial deal. Bought the Groupon months in advance for carpet cleaning... scheduled the appointment about 3 weeks in advance... and they never showed up or called. Tried calling the number listed on the Groupon, and it went to his home phone voicemail. He calls me back later that evening (very polite & apologetic) but he didn't have my cell number correct and said his GPS "wasn't working properly". I explained the situation to Groupon and they refunded me the $35. Then my wife and I just cleaned the carpets ourselves. Had a similar situation last year with a landscaping company that posted a Groupon for "$1,000 worth of landscaping work for $200" and it never materialized... They no show/no called on me. I called an hour after they didn't make the appointment (12-4) and he said their truck broke down. Sounds like this is standard operating procedure. Hopefully groupon will allow me to cancel the coupon. I was pretty rude to the guy I spoke to and feel a little bad about that. I really hate to have to do this review because I personally know the owner's in laws, but this experience was totally unacceptable. After calling twice, I finally got a return call to make an appointment. I was told they would be here between 8-8:30. Called him after they were 1 1/2 hours late and was told he was on the way. Finally showed up over two hours late! After they had left I discovered they didn't even touch the walk in closet!! I expected to smell that fresh clean carpet smell when they left but it just smelled of wet dirt. I don't think they even used shampoo! Being late seems to be the common complaint with all the reviews. He needs to get his act together and put his customers first. read more

I had scheduled a carpet cleaning several weeks in advance. The morning of, 30min before he was supposed to show up, he calls me to reschedule because he had to go and put down his dog. He said he would call to reschedule the next day. A week later, still no call. I have since then cancelled the Living Social voucher because I didn't have the time to just wait around and wait for him to get his acts together. Thank goodness I got my money back! Just say no. I scheduled with these folks a week or so out, which wasn't too bad. I received a 2 hour window, and they duly called to let me know when they were on their way, which was about an hour and a half into the 2 hours. They then got a flat, ending up arriving 1.5 hours after the window. I suggested, because I had been sitting in a vacant house for over 1.5 hours waiting that they might throw in the 8 sf hall. They offered to do it for $20 cash additional, which was way excessive. I turned that down, which was a good thing. These guys "did" 2 medium-sized rooms. I pointed out the 3 spots in the room that needed cleaning. From the time I opened the door to the time their van was packed and they were out of there was 10 whole minutes. I kid you not. The 3 spots are still there. When I pointed them out, the owner? (a big baldish guy) rubbed his dirty shoe across the wet carpet in that area and he said it must be a stain. No attempt to reclean that area. Not even an offer to upsell me stain treatment. If what you want is damp carpet with a little nice scent for cheap, use these folks. I first found Total Carpet Care through Groupon and found Michael to be very accommodating and fairly priced. Our carpets were installed brand new 3 years ago and TCC has been the only company we've used. In the last year my husband and I became licensed realtors and regularly refer Michael at Total Carpet Care for both our sellers and buyers. All our clients have been completely satisfied. So I guess I should have read the previous reviews before purchasing service from this company. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is, should be their motto. They upsold us a service called a rake I beleive, that was 35 and a waste of money. We have some areas that needed a little extra cleaning and we were willing to pay for it, but was told that there was not much they could do.... umm excuse me, you are a carpet cleaner aren't you? So we tried after about 5 hours to use our little cleaner on those areas and a few others, and the water coming out was BLACK. I understand that you can't get everything up and there may be some left, but this was ridiculous. I would not recommend them to anyone. I used this company 4 years ago. It was through groupon. We were moving and I had them do both houses, the rental we were leaving and the home we purchased. They cleaned the rental after we were completely moved out. They knocked a hole in the wall and never bothered to tell us. The work they did at the new house was shoddy to say the least. read more

Absolutely not "Total Carpet Care!" I purchased a groupon for 3 rooms and tile cleaning. I checked out their website and it said 15 years of experience. Really? A guy showed up and said he couldn't vacuum, he said that was my job, so II vacuumed. Then, when he went to look at the grout he said he couldn't do it because he didn't have the proper machine. He said he was getting one the following weekend and would call to schedule another appt. He never called. I called him 3 times and never heard back. Plus the carpet didn't look a whole lot different, I ended up paying the price to have another company come out. Spend your money elsewhere! read more

Late......rude and thought it was my problem that they could not make it within the 2 hour window they set me up for. I fugured they were late and maybe they could give me discount or do a part of my house for free since they did not fulfill their part of the contract. The owner thought that this was outragous since I already got a discount on groupon. Hey buddy I did not tell you how much to list your services for. Grow up, realize that customers are the reason your business will fail or success. My dog had a big accident in my daughter's room on a Monday that I did my best to clean, but it still smelled. I called that day and got an appointment for Total Carpet Care to come out on Friday (all the way to Sparks), using a discount voucher. Michael called on Thursday to confirm the appointment and arrived during the time he said he would. He was friendly and quick. The carpets looked and smelled great. I even had him add on an antibacterial treatment to officially kill any germs on the carpet since my daughter is always playing on the floor. Very professional. And I realized Michael had cleaned my carpets at another home I lived in a few years back and did a great job then as well. Very pleased. I will use them again! read more

I found this company through Groupon for a "deal" of $65 for three rooms and a sofa cleaning. It was a terrible experience!!!!! I booked an appointment and it was scheduled out over a month due to them being 'busy'. Then they call me the night before my appointment and re-schedule due to equipment failure. I then had to wait another 2 weeks for my next appointment only to stay home another day for disappointment. One hour into my three hour window for the scheduled arrival, they call me to say they have once again had equipment failure and it will take over 4 hours to repair but can possibly schedule it for the next day. I had to do a lot of leg work to keep calling the main guy to ensure my appointment was indeed set for a specific date or time. On my final attempt to get an appointment I find out they had my address wrong the whole time and after 2 hours of phone tag I get a hold of the main person, Michael, only to find him to be completely rude and lacking of any kind of customer service! Was too much of a hassle for not that much of a discount and I would not ever want to deal with this company no matter the price or deal. DON"T USE THIS COMPANY unless you have endless time to sit around waiting for their equipment to work and want to be treated rudely. read more
