We knew this going into the service call and I explained this to the call center. I wanted them to have the part on hand at arrival. They charged $178 and tax for a total of $186.59 to come out and wanted additional $403.04 to replace the capacitor. They went ahead and installed without permission. There was no application of the service call fee to the charge for the capacitor. I may have gone for the $403.84 straight up. Although even that is high. There was no explanation from the start that just showing up was $186.59; that any work done would be an additional above and beyond charge. Now keep in mind that the OEM Carrier Part costs at most $26-30 and this literally requires seconds to install once the panel is open. The entire service call should last 30 minutes and this includes the initially and follow up diagnostics to ensure the unit is running properly. I called three other local HVAC service companies and they quoted from $89-129 to come out to the house and all would apply that fee to the cost of the repair. They quoted $209 to $269 to replace the capacitor and do the follow up diagnostics to ensure the unit was running properly. So at most $269 plus tax. Not double the price of $590.43 with shady business practices and poor communication.

Always Comfy (Tom McNally), the name says it all they always make sure your home HVAC System is up and running, this a local service provider that really is there to help you with any HVAC issues. He came in when he said he will (on time) and will see what's the issue, explain what's the best solution for the issue and will not charge you arm and a leg for fixing it. He fixed the issue and then I asked him if we do a yearly service contract that will help us make sure that everything is running smoothly and also maintained properly. Then after he left our heating system worked fine for 2 days, he had already informed us that if this goes back we'll have to change a part that he had previously cleaned to make things work. After two days heating went back to working on and off, so I called Always Comfy and Tom said he will be there at the end of the days as we come home after work to fix it. It's was to our surprise he came to fix it just before he had to join his family for a dinner on his birthday. That's going above and beyond to make sure we had our home Always Comfy and we would recommend them over any big name in the area. Although everyone is in business to make profits, but Tom understands that he is not in business to make one time profit or long term business relationships which will grow s your referral will help him to make profits larger than spending money on advertising for months. Just a little synopsis before we had met Always Comfy (Tom McNally) what all we went through. It's been a while we had been looking for someone who can give us a second opinion for our house HVAC and we have been with AJP for 6 years and now they had been suggesting that our furnace is not performing at optimum we should go for High-Efficiency systems that will help us with our home heating & cooling and reduce our electric & gas bill. We called few guys and they all wanted money before suggesting anything to even come in, one guy comes in and tell that there is some wiring issues with our system and that can be fixed for a material cost of $250-300 and when I asked him what's the issue he said you need to pay me $99 for coming to my place and $100 for consultation before he can utter a word. I said since it's too cold and my heating system was acting up so I said "we would certainly like this to be fixed, please explain what the issue is". He said let me make some calls and he went out came back and closed the system and walked out without anything done what so ever.

Josh did most of the work and was very professional, tested everything well before leaving, was thorough and was very easy to work with. The scheduling of the appointments through Amanda and others in the office went well too. I had been a long time customer when Tom was there too but have not experienced issues more recently with them as others have expressed in their reviews. Luckily we have not had major A/C or plumbing issues so I can't say whether that would be different so you'll have to assess for yourself based on all of the reviews listed.

Water stains on the 1st floor ceiling from a toilet that was removed and replaced (you don't even want to know why they did this). The replaced bathroom ceiling fan was not set right, so there is an ugly gap next to it. For the minimal work they did, they charged me over $1,000, then they tried to charge me another $600 for replacing the flapper and flusher in the toilet (I kid you not - $20 of parts, 5 minutes of work = $600). What a great company this used to be.
