Donny was extremely thorough in identifying the issue and diagnosed that the unit I had was not the right size for my home. In addition the piping was inefficient and not up to code. They offered to refund the prior install, designed a sleek solution with a new combi boiler and somehow managed to make everything fit perfectly into the very small mechanical room in my home. This was a complicated install made even more challenging by the small space, but Donny's workmanship and problem-solving was excellent. They were able to accommodate my schedule, finished on time and were collaborative with me throughout the process and helped me land on a solution and price that I was satisfied with. It was a Saturday, so... not a great start to the weekend, and also, not a lot of (decent) plumbers available! Anyway, I posted a project on Yelp, and Homeservice Plumbers were fairly quick to respond after my other Project options (not to be named here) either demanded a phone number or made wishy-washy timing range options (which were not amenable to my schedule). Homeservice Plumbers was quick, to the point, and not pushy or demanding at all anytime I was talking to them. I scheduled for Tuesday between 12-2pm arrival, and Xavier, the first person who came out to see the problem, showed up in a timely manner (just before 12pm!) as he had another service call in the area. He was respectful of property (brought his own shoe coverings!) and was also pleasant to work with. Unfortunately he didn't have the tools, but he was the one to call in Nick who had the requisite tools for the job. He confirmed the service would be possible, and off he went. The next person, Nick was great to work with - he arrived promptly at 5pm (the quoted range was 3-5pm, which was perfectly reasonable), respected the property (brought his own shoe coverings, asked to use a small bowl to capture the grease drippings from the p-trap, and cleaned up after the work was done), and was able to provide a fair estimate for a high value of quality work. He finished by 6:30pm and confirmed the drain was working, and verbally confirmed (it's not on the invoice but I hope I never have issues again!) that there's a one year labour warranty - great deal! I never caught the phone "operators" name (my bad, she called me THRICE and I still never caught her name), but she was cordial, polite, and quickly handled my concerns for updates on when the plumber(s) would arrive. Scheduling through Yelp was simple and easy - and having no "service call" fee means there's no obligation to go through with anything you're not comfortable with. Anyway, short story (really) long: this company is on my list of "high quality work at a fair rate", because (1) they don't charge for service calls, which is a bold move in today's service-oriented environment, (2) they are reasonable with pricing given that I'd done some research beforehand, and (3) they verbally offered a warranty for their services, which means that they're willing to stand by the quality of their work. Call them today for your plumbing issues. Fair, honest, trustworthy service is hard to come by - the companies you see on the billboards aren't the only options in town!

We had success clearing…read morethe first portion of the drain, but needed professional assistance with clearing the rest of the blockage. Eli did a through job up to 50' limit of his auger tool. Based on what I've recently learned with roots growing through drain pipes, I would opt for clearing drain pipes with a mechanical auger rather than a hydro jet since something is needed to cut out the roots. After the initial drain clearing, we paidfor an additional service to get a camera into our drain to see if there was any additional blockage. Hudson answered our questions about whether there were any additional blockages up to 100' (there were none), the path and slop of our drain pipe, and the location of low points in our drain pipe with a tool that identified the exact location of the camera. Though the cost of the appointment to use the camera was not inexpensive, I appreciated that we did learn useful information from the use of the camera.

So, when I needed new hot and cold water inlet valves installed before the delivery crew would install my new washer, I called Jafco and made an appointment. The basic fee for a service call was quoted as $180. The Jafco plumber, Leif Storkersen, came as scheduled, looked at the job, and wrote up an estimate. I was stunned to see the cost: $691.38! When I expressed my astonishment and dismay, he explained that they had a minimum job cost, so the price was the total of their minimum job cost plus the two valves, plus tax. I accepted this outrageous bid because I figured that I was on the hook for the service call and because of the time pressure--the washer delivery was scheduled for the next day. Yes, Jafco successfully installed excellent new spigot valves, but I doubt very many plumbers in Seattle would charge almost $700 for barely a half hour of work and a few dollars in parts.
