Total Pro Plumbing was the service my home warranty selected for us. My toilet and any other drain had backed up into my tub. They scheduled us a week out to 6/13. Then, without telling me, they changed the appointment to two weeks later on 6/27. After leaving us with raw sewage in our tub for 3 weeks they were a NO SHOW NO CALL NO MESSAGE NO NOTHING. Now I am starting all over again with the warranty company and HOPEFULLY will never be dealing with them again read more

If you want shoddy work and bad customer service, call Total Pro. They came out to my house in Powell to address a water leak. I've never seen a "professional" guess more than when their "plumber" came to troubleshoot. Before we could even rule out the simple issues (caulk, drain seal, valve issues) they were cutting into to finished drywall below. After they cut a 12" square in my finished ceiling they still couldn't find the leak. The needless drywall repair will cost us $1600 when a real plumber would have been 1/4 the cost. Total Plumbing Pro has no customer service. We had a missed appointment with them to do some plumbing work. The missed appointment was my fault and apologized to that fact and requested an appointment reschedule for the following week. I thought all was fine, however I reached back out to them on the very next Monday by text. My final text and phone call the following Friday were cordial, but ignored until the Friday late morning. On Friday, I was told told by Valerie by text to call the warranty company they represent and they were not going to do the service. We have a Ring camera video showing the technician showing up during the missed appointment and my wife talking to him over the speaker. The technician walked away from the door ignoring my wife as she was trying to discuss an alternative option in an adult-like manner. He was not interested and turned his back. I gave Total Pro Plumbing the benefit of the doubt to come out to do the service and receive a positive review from me. I think they need a positive review and experience more than anything else at this point. In addition, I informed them that if they wanted another service fee for coming over, I would have paid since the missed appointment was my fault (there is text to this fact as proof). The company reviews on Yelp are overwhelmingly negative for a reason and unfortunately this went the same route as most other reviews for them. I did check the BBB and they show B- probably for the same reason/s. Customer service is the lifeblood of any business such as this, but they chose to ignore the customer and resolve the issue regardless of fault. I've been a business owner for 25 years and respect my clients enough to engage in any problem solving to create long lasting relationships. Bottom line: don't waste your time on this company as they do not care about customers or customer service. Just know the company can't handle a simple scheduling conflict to resolve an issue and would rather ignore the situation. This company will eventually fail in today's social media world. read more

NO! NO! NO! I should have known when it took almost an entire day to get a hold of them in the first place. I used them at the request of Home Warranty of America. We had a sewer backup, never a great day,but just after we'd moved. The cleanup company we used was here as well and my house was ridiculously busy. Instead of the plumber coming to me and telling me that he couldn't get to the problem because it was behind a wall he just left with no plans to come back and fix the problem. After calling both the insurance company and the main office I finally got someone to explain clearly that the warranty didn't cover the wall removal. However the cleanup company already on site from my regular home insurance company was easily able to do this but getting the plumber back to my house took forever. He got the sewage flowing down finally making for a very long two days that didn't need to be that long because of a lack of communication... It Turns out that it wasn't fixed after all as 40 days later the same drain backed up and overflowed again. I called several times this morning and afternoon and didn't hear from them directly until almost 5 pm. The owner when I explained the the problem decided that I sounded agitated which I did because it's the same drain less that 2 months later. He refused service and hung up on me. This of course resulted in an entire day waiting for a company I was told was going to call me directly. An entire day of having sewage in my house and not getting the problem addressed. Second lesson learned is don't trust Home Warranty of America for contracting with such a sketchy company. read more

Company covers Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati. We live in Cincy. So appreciate Tina who did troubleshooting for some issues we ran into getting the various plumbing jobs done at my house. Dustin who was the plumber that did the work is VERY good. We were schedule with them through a warranty company (through Sears). While there were some scheduling glitches involved, the biggest frustration was the result of the warranty company not covering many of the things I needed done! Bob the owner and Tina and Dustin worked with me to get things taken care of at a fair price, though. UPDATE: This company definitely goes above and beyond! Tina continued to follow-up with the warranty company (even though it took her an extra 90 minutes of wrangling with them) and got everything covered for us. Do not use the company. I didn't even choose them, my home warranty company did. The plumbers called and said they would be to my home in 30 mins, and they showed up an hour and 15 mins later. When the plumbers came, they looked at the three faucets, and actually told me I could buy Gorilla glue to fix one of the faucets. Told me they need to order parts, and it would take a few days. That was a week ago, called them a few days after they left my home and left a voicemail, but got no response, and actually called the company back. This company sent an apprentice to conduct an emergency plumbing repair on his own in east Westwood Cincinnati. As he struggled to figure out what he was doing after only putting in an hour or two daily over the course of four days- I asked if he was licensed and what company he worked for- he refused to confirm. He also refused to confirm his name. Suddenly another man showed up with a jacket that said TOTAL PRO & the new guy that randomly showed up is on their website in company photos that also refused to state his name and confirm he worked for TOTAL PRO . This company was hired by my landlord who is a slumlord and told me he didn't have to tell me his name because he doesn't do business with me directly as he left his apprentice in my house ALONE when only a licensed plumber is permitted to do the work when there are orders issued by the city of Cincinnati building and codes department. Apprentices are not permitted to complete the work. They left very swiftly when I took a picture of his license plate and called the police so I could see if they were actually licensed. Horrible experience, my pipes were left wide open & this is now day 5 without water because I've had an unlicensed unknown man in my house for the past week with not a clue as to how to fix a major repair like what was going on. The apprentice had a phone number he texted me on and on the voicemail it states "Jason something" I did get a picture of him but still have no idea who this man was. Utterly awful. Is there a negative star rating I can use? It took the technician seven....SEVEN hours to replace my water tank. After seven hours I was left with puddles of water in my living room due to a leak caused by a valve the tech opened that he shouldn't have, soiled carpet from when he DRAGGED the old tank up the stairs and at some point, he removed the protective covering on his shoes, proceeded to walk around my living room, further tracking the dirt into the pools of water...I called Tina, their (lack of) "Service" representative, wanting to be transferred to the owner, who I was able to speak with only because I had asked the tech to give him my phone number. The owner was quick to deflect accountability. When I told Tina my living room was getting pools of water, she flippantly said, "Well the tech has a shop vac in his car". He did...he brought it in....AND DIDN'T USE IT. They were referred to me by First American Home Warranty, which I'm actually considering dropping due to this experience. read more

The Receptionist that takes there calls and sets there appointments "TINA" is a real peach, I liked her the moment we started talking, she was very understanding of our issue, and did her level best to try to get someone out that night, unfortunately it just wasn't in the cards for us lol, but they showed up bright and early the next morning and had it all fixed up and running with in the hour, these gentlemen were very professional, and courteous, and I would use them again in the future. read more

This company was refered to me by my home warranty company. The technician installed a new bathroom faucet. Not a difficult job. It took about 30 minutes. I few days later a noticed a leak under the sink where there was no leak before. I called TotalPro and was told they would come out but that I'd have to pay another service call charge. I told Tina that I shouldn't have to pay a service charge since the leak was a result of the original install a few days earlier. She was rather terse with me and said she'd have to discuss it with her manager. That was a week ago. Still no call. I paid good money for a properly installed faucet. This is a totally inept business. First off, YOU will not be able to reach anyone when you dial their number unless you select that it's an emergency. I bet you my bottom dollar ok this. Give them a call and see if they pick up. Granted not everything is an emergency but at the same time it's nice to have a receptionist pickup and speak to her regarding your issue. This should have been my first clue that something was amiss but I didn't heed the warning. We had the unfortunate 'pleasure' of having our former warranty company pick this company to come out to fix a 'running' toilet and a kitchen faucet that had a drip. They decided the faucet needed to be replaced but never notified the warranty company of this. I had to harass the warranty company for a week before they either gave in or managed to get a hold of this poorly ran company. I wish my issues with this company had ended there but sadly they didn't. We discovered a week after they left that the toilet they 'repaired' had been leaking onto the floor. This toilet is in a downstairs half bathroom that isn't used much. It wasn't leaking before they worked on it and mysteriously developed a leak afterwords.. I called the warranty company back as soon as we noticed and they ended up sending this company back out. They replaced several more parts on the toilet and said the original techs should have replaced those too and they weren't sure why he didn't. I asked the tech that did the second set of repairs to have the owner contact me since they never pick up the phone when you call their office. Of course he never called. Several days later I called them and was forced to leave a message. The owner called me back a day or two later and refused to take any responsibility for anything and asserted that we should have kept an eye on the toilet after they repaired it. Uh.. I expected you to make a quality repair and didn't think I had to repeatedly follow up on your work. They have a decent amount of poor reviews. They seem to do a lot of home warranty work and it clearly shows as a consumer wouldn't or shouldn't willingly elect to have this company do any kind of work. Avoid like the plague and take your hard earned dollars to a company of competent pros that not only answer the phone when you call but also do top notch work. read more

Our Sink on the first floor got clogged. we had HMS insurance who required us to hire Total Pro Plumbing. Jason the plumber came, charged the $50 deductible then said the only snake he had only toilet auger. SO he wanted to unseat the toilet on the second floor because the auger wont fit in the bathroom. Which was going to cost additional $100. I told him that the stack on the second floor does not have anything to do with the clogged Sink on the first floor. So he went to the first floor but he did not have a snake, he had loaned it to another plumber in the company. He called the other plumber while he tried to unclog the drain with another smaller auger. That did not work. Finally his friend came and gave him back his snake. the snake did not have a bulb on the top and it went right thru the drain and came back out without unclogging the drain. After 3 hours, he left saying he will have to comeback. HMS called later to let me know that they will not cover the claim because the plumber said that the drain had gravel and grease in it which is an abuse not covered by the policy. HMS refused to authorize to fix the drain. I hired directly another plumber from Knochelmann Company, It took Ron 7 Minutes to unclog the drain with a hand auger. If there is Zero mark I would give it to both HMS and to Total Pro Plumbing. read more

I have never left a negative review of a business before, but felt it was absolutely necessary in this instance. I had a slow draining shower and a toilet that would bubble while the shower was in use. I filed a claim with my home warranty and was put in contact with Total Pro Plumbing. Two plumbers showed up on a Thursday and went outside to the sewer clean out. They were snaking the drain but immediately I could hear an insanely loud banging. I am not familiar with plumbing so I just assumed it was normal. This went on for 20+ minutes. When they came back in they told me that they didn't have the equipment that they needed to reach the clog and that they would be coming back Saturday to fix it. They said they would call Saturday morning to let me know the time that they'd be out. After they left, sludge started coming up from my shower drain. Half the time my toilet would fill when I tried to flush it. Saturday afternoon I still hadn't heard anything, and called. The woman on the phone told me that I wasn't on the schedule for the day and that the plumber probably told me that "to be nice" (!?!?!?). I scheduled for Wednesday. Two men come Wednesday and go back out and are snaking the clean out again. After about the same amount of time as before they come in and tell me that they are unable to drain the clean out and that I *probably* have a broken pipe and that I would need to excavate. They say that they will give the diagnosis to my home warranty on Monday (my appt was the day before thanksgiving). After they leave this time my toilet started leaking at the base, my washer drain was backing up, and this is on top of the previously mentioned issues. I call my home warranty on Tuesday to get information on how we are going to proceed. Total Pro NEVER submitted a diagnosis. My home warranty reached out and left two voicemails (on separate days) requesting that they provide a diagnosis in order to proceed. Total Pro never returned their calls. I had to start over and have a new plumber come out. I explained everything to the new plumber and even played the video I recorded of the banging during the first visit. He was astounded. He said that they went the wrong direction and that they should have IMMEDIATELY realized when there was any banging. He said that they could have caused a lot of damage. He snaked the drain (the correct way), and it was completely clear and totally fixed within 30 minutes. My experience with Total Pro was horrible. They were not only unprofessional in so many ways- they were totally incompetent and seemingly unfamiliar with the fundamentals needed to successfully address plumbing needs. My husband and I had a technician come out to fix both our showers and in the middle of fixing the one, he quit and told my husband to fix it himself and left- not touching the other bathroom. It's pretty bad when the tech is on the phone with his manager and the manager tells the tech to calm down because of his attitude. My warranty company First American sent this company to my house to fix a sump pump in my crawl space. If you experience this tell them asap to send another company! This company came to my house their plumber they sent spent a whole whopping 10 minutes "fixing" my sump pump. I was told my pump was fixed and I had a broken footer tile in my crawl space. Naturally I had a company come out to give me an estimate to fix this broken footer tile and thankfully I ended up with an honest person who told me it wasn't broken at all and that my sump pump needed replaced and wasn't working. I contacted my warranty company to let them know and they again had this company contact me. I informed then there was standing water now since there had been rainfall since there last plumber came out they refused to come out until the water was out. I tried to explain that my sump pump wasn't fixed in the first place wheb there plumber came out and that's why I was left with the standing water. I went back and forth with my warranty company for 2 weeks in regards to the standing water that I didn't feel was my responsibility to remove since this company failed at their job. Finally they sent a whole different company out who verified that not only did the sump pump need replaced to begin with. But also the sump pump was in such bad shape it was popping the circuit breaker so when this company came out and "fixed" my sump pump there was no power even going to the pump. Now thankfully to the second company that was sent I have a working sump pump but unfortunately I'm left with having to hire a company to spray for mold due to the water that sat for over 2 weeks because of this company and First American Home Warranty. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! PLEASE, if I could rate ZERO I would, these were the worst people imaginable to have to deal with. Our home warranty company made us go through them to get our stoppage fixed. They called us to setup an appointment and the lady I spoke with told me she wanted to speak to my husband to make sure they knew the extent of our issues and make sure they had the correct equipment when they showed up since they weren't located in our area. My husband explained the issue and she said it wouldn't be an issue and had the appointment made. That Monday they were scheduled to come between 9-11am and they never showed. After 12pm I called them to ask why and the receptionist told me the plumber called in sick and they'd have to reschedule. We rescheduled for two days later, Wednesday. Wednesday morning came and plumber actually showed up, didn't walk in with any equipment and wanted to see our kitchen sink (which wasn't the issue at all it was sewer backing up in the basement), when my husband told him this he responded that the work order stated it was a simple kitchen sink clog and he didn't have the correct equipment to work on it, he'd have to come back. My husband then proceeded to call the company and ask what the issue was and when they were coming back, lady told him she'd speak with the plumber and call us back. 3 hrs later there was no response so I called them back and the lady very rudely informed me she called our home warranty company and let them know they were incapable of fixing it and they didn't need to call us back to let us know, the job was being reassigned and since we were so rude to call back and check up on the status of our appointment they were going to call the warranty company themselves and inform them of how hostile we were and to have them refuse to work with us. Upset by how the lady responded to our call I called our warranty company and the call center told us the company told them they tried to fix our issue and were unable to get it done it was too big of a job and didn't have the equipment needed to do it and needed reassigned. They never even used a plunger let alone an auger and was in a house a total of 2 minutes. Overall this company is HORRIBLE, please read the other reviews and see they are NOT BBB accredited before using them or allowing your warranty company to assign them to your case.
