My husband did not have any problems with his car prior to taking it to this shop for detailing. When he went to pick it up they said it cut out when they were parking it. When he arrived, they jump-started the car and it didn't even make it a mile before it cut off again. When I called to speak to the manager, I was told that Mark, (the person who answered the phone), was the owner. He said the conversation was over when I asked for his last name. We have taken two vehicles here in the past week and both came out perfect. The owner is very accommodating and has a high attention to detail. He visually inspected the vehicles in front of us and if he saw anything he fixed it right away. He then asked me to walk around my truck to check just to make sure that I was happy with the results or if I saw anything that needed some more attention. The two gentlemen he has working for him did a great job and were also very accommodating when I took my truck in this morning. I will be going here again and will recommend them to anyone I know. While I waited I had a great breakfast at More Than Java Cafe across the street, which I also recommend. The employee did ask me if I would be waiting at the shop, so I assume this would be at the waiting room that Anon R. was speaking about. As far as Anon R's review, I saw nothing but the opposite. The owner was very professional and when I walked into the shop on Monday one of his employees called him to set up the appointment, which makes me believe Anon is lying about having an appointment set up. From the tone of the review, the reviewer seems a little self entitled; but that is just my opinion. ( Must be nice to never have to move your own bike.) I dropped my car off with the owner, Day and I joked with him that he wasn't allowed to lecture me on how bad my car was. I came back a couple hours later and my car was absolutely beautiful (no small feat since it hadn't been waxed in over 3 years ). I would have been happy if he'd told me he couldn't restore it to its former glory so imagine my surprise when I saw my baby looking like new money!!! Day was WONDERFUL and entertained my foolishness as we laughed at how bad the interior of the car is and I promised him I'd be back after the holidays. He even offered to look up some prices to replace my janky bumper (that's a whole other story). I went in with a Groupon deal to wash, clay and wax the exterior and he far surpassed my expectation. Believe the hype!!! From the moment I called to schedule my appointment to the the time I left their shop, they were courteous and helpful. I was running behind on the day of the appointment and expected to feel rushed when I called for the exact location or walked in but there was none of that. Now on to the car I purchased a salvage vehicle where some parts with oil and dirt had been thrown onto the seat and floor. They were able to get all of this and every other stain inside that vehicle out. I had purchased a Groupon for interior detailing (wished I had purchased the exterior groupon too) and because of how wowed I am, I will be returning to this shop to get my car cleaned again and recommending them to anyone who would like their vehicle cleaned. Crazy how I ended up at this place. I was visiting a friend in the Laurel Area and I happened to spill red wine in my partners new truck and I knew that I could not drive back to dc with car mats soaked in red wine and the truck smelling like a wine festival. I called Total Recon and asked if I could stop by without an appointment and they said yes. When I got there, the owner told me he would try his hardest to get it out, however red wine is known to stain. While I waited, I walked around the corner to Java Cafe and picked up a snack. 40 minutes later when I had returned, they had removed all the red wine stains and made my partners truck LOOK and SMELL brand new/back to its original condition. The interior was cleaned nicely and the outside was immaculate. They did a great job and I would recommend them in a heart beat. read more

Staff was professional and friendly. They even dropped me off at work when I told them I was trying to secure a ride and offered to pick me up if I didn't have a ride back! I got a total detail and hard wax. My car was so pretty! Just like new! They even got all of the melted crayon from my rear cup holder! (Yeah.... lol #2boys) Wouldn't recommend waiting there at TR for your vehicle... it is a garage after all an garage environment. If you wanted to wait, it's located in the middle of main street so it is walking distance from lots of cute little shops, the laurel pool, parks (a really scenic one right behind pool actually) and places to eat. I showed up without an appointment on a Monday evening, but the owner, Day, was attentive and accommodating despite that. My car needed some serious care after being parked beneath some trees for nearly a year while I was away. The car was given a full exterior detail with headlight restoration and it came out amazing. Like the other customers of Total Recon, I'm completely satisfied at the excellent work and results. My boyfriend hadn't cleaned his car in a year. In that time we went hiking, to the beach, played football. His car was a mess. I had a groupon for this place because I saw how great the reviews were. They did an awesome job, not sure if this is a chain or a local business. It looked like it was run out the back of a house, but do not let that deter you! The workers were extremely nice and professional, they even recommended a couple of places to sit and have some refreshments while waiting, and this is after they offered to let me wait there with free wifi and comfortable seating. He recommended a cafe up the street (which was also amazing), and showed me to the waiting room. Total Recon was amazing. I really needed my headlights restored, and they were the only place open late on a Thursday Night, I called up right before I got off work and they said "Can you get here before 7?" I said most definitely. I show up and head straight into the waiting room. Comfortable with full cable, and wifi. Made myself at home while they worked on my headlights. 45 minutes later, I look outside and my headlights look brand new! Great work! Great customer service! Having never had my car detailed before, I didn't have much of a frame of reference going into my appointment. But suffice it to say I am more than satisfied. I used the Living Social deal for a wash, wax, and interior detail and my 2010 Ford Fusion looks showroom-ready. A little backstory: The Fusion was my wife's company car and prior to deciding to buy it when it went off-lease, let's just say we treated it like we wouldn't have to deal with the consequences. Now that we bought it, we figured it'd be nice to freshen it up a bit. Goal accomplished. The guys at Total Recon didn't leave any stone unturned. There's an upcharge to take care of serious dog hair issues, but frankly they did such a good job that it wasn't even necessary (let's face it, the hair would be back within a day anyway). On top of everything the guys are super-friendly and they have a cozy waiting area with wifi and a large TV in case you decide to wait while they work. Definitely going back to have them buff out some scratches in the future. read more

The owner of this place is very unprofessional and rude. He said he does not care, when I tried to reschedule an appointment. I do no not recommend this business to anyone. Take your time and money and go elsewhere that cares. I was calling to reschedule from a rainy day and ended up with a very heated conversation. He even called back from another phone number to confirm we were rude back to him. This person should not be in a business with people. I had my car interior detailed on Friday June 17th. I was actually able to get in for an early appointment with only one day notice! I anticipated waiting a few weeks - I knew I got lucky. I submitted an appointment request on the website and within 15 minutes the owner called me to set it up. It was quick and hassle free. I looked up reviews for over a dozen auto detailing shops and ended up traveling nearly 2 hours hours round trip to this location just because the reviews made me feel confident. When I saw the promotion running and the reviews I booked that same day. Also, I loved how involved the owner seemed in his business. I am a Nanny so I had quite a few large stains on front and back seats from multiple kids that I was not able to get out myself. I keep my car clutter free and clean but I was still excited to see it all professionally fresh and shiny! (My first car detail ever!) The exchange process was quick, the owner was standing right in the garage area when I pulled up. He was very friendly; he asked me a few standard questions; confirmed my appointment; told me my estimated pick up time; and suggested places to explore while I waited. When I got back there were 2 other men working. One showed me around my car, asked if I was satisfied and then they set up the payment. They were both very friendly and professional. My car seats were still slightly damp so they offered to wrap my seat in plastic but I declined. The next day, after my seats were completely dry I was very excited that 99% of the (very set-in) stains were gone! (only a slight shadowing of the one that has been there for over a year) A couple weeks later I still feel so good getting in my car because of how clean it is! I am a highly satisfied customer and have already suggested this place to friends of mine in the Baltimore area! The only minor suggestion I could make is that I would have loved call once they were done to let me know my car was ready for pick-up because I am pretty sure they had been done with my car for a bit once I walked up to check if they were done. I say this because I was by myself, just killing time in a town that I am not familiar with and would have liked to head home an extra 20 minutes early if possible. This was my first auto detail so maybe they wanted to let my car dry out, or didn't want to make customers feel rushed to head back to pick up their car. So, this is just a personal suggestion. They were so nice, i'm sure all I have to do is ask the guys next time to call and they would! I really loved this small business and would be happy to support them again! I wish I could remember the 2 mens names that were there, they were really great! Tips: I figured out you can park your car anywhere in the lot, there is not really designated areas or designated way to park. They move it to the angle they want it later. Also, the town is quaint and tiny to walk through while you are waiting on your car. I also found a trail that runs along a river that was a great place to walk and then sit and relax on one of the benches. Bring a book or wear running clothes if you are into it! The last tip I have is, be prepared for them. I feel as though you should have your car clutter-free (no miscellaneous items in the cupholders/back seat etc.) I would think this would be obvious however, some reviews for other companies I came across customers were bothered because things were moved and/or missing. I actually thought this place didn't do your trunk so I had a small crate of things in my trunk at the time. It was an awesome surprise to find out they detail the trunk too. Literally the worst customer service on the phone that I have ever experienced in my life. I don't know if this guy was the owner, but he was confrontational from the beginning. It seemed like he was annoyed just to be on the phone. I have tried to call this company and leave messages twice in the last couple of months with my Groupon. Instead of just giving up and contacting Groupon, I figured I would just try one last time since the Groupon expires on Sept 1. They didn't have any Saturdays avaialble until mid-September and he wouldn't accomodate me. It's actually unbelievable that I get no return calls for my original appointment requests and then they don't accomodate. Go ahead and give this craphole company a call and see how this guy talks on the phone. CUSTOMER SERVICE 101....Be pleasant on the phone and accomodate your customers!! I would've been a repeat customer if the service was good. On top of that, you lose valuable word of mouth. Get off Groupon if you don't care about the customers that use their service. Before i purchased my groupon for an interior detail, i looked at the groupon fine print, yelp reviews and the company website. Made my decision to purchase and later made an appointment. The package that I purchased was for an interior detail. I will admit my car is filthy and still is. When i arrived the individual in charge looked at my car and said there would be an upcharge of $100. I was told that the groupon was for a basic package of 2 - 4 hours work. The groupon only indicated interior detail. Obviously I questioned him on his fees, to which he responded that mechanics in auto dealers get $99 per hour . I decided to go ahead with the work and let him know this twice since I doubted that I was going to get around to doing the work myself (even though at 65 years. i felt with the right equipment i could get the work done in 4 hours). I asked about the trunk and he indicated that that would also be covered. When he asked me again whether I was going ahead and I responded how many times did i need to say yes. Well surprise, for the first time in my life I was told to leave a business. I suppose one is suppose to come in with a clean car to be detailed. read more
