Kinda sketchy - they wouldn't honor the yelp deal unless you wrote a review right in front of them - I wrote a quick thing about how it was good and they said it wasn't sufficient and to make it longer! Not sure if any of the other reviews felt like they were written under duress - I did and took mine down and I'm writing my real review now. The actual place is pretty nice. Once we got in there were language issues - I said I was breastfeeding and she thought I was pregnant so she made me lay on my side the whole time and just massaged one side of my neck over and over, even though I said I wanted mostly my feet massaged. By the halfway point I had to tell her I think I should turn over so at least I'm massaged evenly on both sides. My neck was sore the next day. My husband has some shoulder issues but they didn't understand due to language issues, too. One star for the place and one star for them being nice. read more

LONG, the owner, is the nicest and very experienced professional whom helped explained to me the great lasting benefits of acupressure message versus Thai massages, etc. All his staff are the best at deep tissue/ relaxation massages! Do Not Go To this Place! I walk in and ask for a 1 hr massage. They take my money and give me a room to go into. I get on the table and my massage starts. 10 minutes in the lady says I'm sorry we have 2 people coming in and they have appointments so you must leave. I ask if I can shorten to Half hr and they say no. I get dressed and leave. First time in my life I have had to leave after a therapist is literally walking on my back. So we were at home at it was 7pm and found this place on yelp we thought it well it's across the street let's try it . We called and got an appt same day at 8pm for a couple massage and let me tell you wow! Those girls really listen to you and focus on what is bothering you. I think we found our go to spot. I found this spot by the positive Yelp reviews it had. I was looking for a 60-90 massage to de-stress. I called the day before and made a reservation for a 90 min massage the next day (Saturday). They were able to fit me in with no problems. The place was extremely clean and smelt fresh. I was walked through to the woman's bathroom, where I was given my own locker to keep my belongings in before changing into a robe. I was then taken to a private room with dimmed lighting and relaxing music playing. It was perfect! I couldn't hear any outside noises until the last 15-20 mins of my massage. It wasn't a big deal but it sounded like kitchen noises which may have been from the restaurant next door?! The massage was amazing. Dianna was my masseuse and was firm and relaxing. The full body massage covered all areas. From shoulders, back, arms, legs, feet, hands, neck and head. The only thing I would have appreciated was to be given a glass of water on arrival. I became very dehydrated during my massage and I don't think that would have happened if I made sure I had a glass of water before we started. There is a water machine in the hall way, but since it was my first time I didn't see it until the end. The 90 min massage was $95 but with the Yelp discount of $20 it was a total of $75. If you're expecting a traditional Swedish massage, Total Relax is not the place for you. It's all about Shiatsu, which for some can be the exact opposite of a "totally relaxing" experience. The massage therapists get in there and knead out your knots, walk on your back and leave you worn out. The space is bright and clean and the locker room is fantastic. Showers, private bathroom, lockers, towels and a plethora of toiletries including mouthwash, deodorant, brushes and more. Many thanks to my fellow Yelpers who alerted me to this place. Without the positive reviews on Yelp I would have never gone here since the place looks like a "happy ending" type place from the street. Nothing could be further from the truth. The dressing area here is beautiful with showers, lockers and wrap around towels and sandals to wear as you walk to your massage room. The room is quiet, dark and the massage table is comfortable with nice quality sheets and towels. I don't believe there was any soothing music playing and if there was, it was so low that I couldn't hear it. My therapist was Sophia and I loved her. She is strong without being painful. I like very deep tissue massage and she is strong enough that I had to tell her to ease up just a little on certain spots. I plan to go back to get some more massage crack to feed my massage habit. read more

I had a massage at this day spa after a grueling workout. I arrived 30 mins after they opened and the cleaning crew was just finishing up. The girl behind the counter was nice but indifferent. The initial waiting area was adjacent to the front door. Once I changed into the spa garb they had to you come back out to a waiting area next to the front door. Felt kind of odd walking out to the front in the tight boxer briefs and t-shirt they gave me. Maybe that was the receptionist amusement for the day. The massage area was dimly lit. The music playing kept skipping and bouncing around. The massage was thorough and well done. I have had better massages in better places but you pay for what you get. If you do not care about anything but the massage, why not come here. For me I think I am going to explore other places before coming back right now. read more

This is a difficult business to rate due to its inconsistency. We've been here on and off for a few years when our usual place is booked, my experiences have ranged from 1-3 stars, my boyfriend at 2-4 stars. This is a place to get a functional massage, a step up from Asian "foot massage" parlors, with nice touches you'd find at western massage places like a locker room. I do laugh every time I drive by as I wouldn't consider the experience relaxing! Be ready to lose all sense of personal space. They will get all up in your bizness, even the female areas. Wearing undies when you don't want your glutes worked on isn't going to cut it. You need to tell them where they can and cannot work on, and bring it up because they will not ask before they start. They use a lot of oil. Pressure is subjective but we both like medium pressure, bf a little lighter. At our last experience, his therapist was great, adjusting the pressure with feedback. I kept telling my therapist to lighten up the pressure, but after a minute she'd go back to steamrolling. This made me tense up, making it even more painful. Her movements were very uneven from left to right side. Facilities have upgraded in the last year, now with private single and couple's rooms, and a "group foot massage" type room. I really don't like giving bad reviews, but this was just not good. The place is clean, but if you're looking for a relaxing foot massage, this is not the place. If you're looking for someone to violently rub your feet, jerking back and forth as fast as possible with boney fingers that feel sharp and painful, this is the spot for you. Amazing!! I walked out feeling totallyl relaxed and no more tightness around my neck, shoulders, and lower back. If you like deep tissue, hard pressure (and I mean hard, no joke) to relieve tightness then ask for Monica. She was so amazed on how tight I was and by the end of my 90 min session I was tense free. She even offered if I wanted some water and so I asked for warm/hot water since I was told that drinking warm/hot water after a massage is good for your body to rid of toxins. Another thing that I liked was the cleanliness of the changing room. They offer lockers to lock up your belongings (which you would find in a spa resort) and you can even shower after your session with all of amenities (blow dryer, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, towels, etc.) AND a major plus for me is that it's even clean!! Seriously!! Upon check-in, the girl was very nice and very accomodating since I was a walk-in on Saturday and then I just had to go back one more time before I left LA to catch a flight and so I called in Sunday night and made my appointment for Monday morning. They have the best Shiatsu massage specialist there than any place I've been to. They are very experienced and understand your needs. They are caring and help you with having better health. The place is very clean and quiet, the locker room is very clean and beautiful with full facilities including a shower and private bathroom. The tables are very comfortable to lay on, which for me is very important. I look forward to going every week. I find the staff there very friendly and you can make appointments ahead of time. They also have special cards, 5 massages and # 6 is 1/2 price. Or you can buy 10 ahead of time and save about $100. I have had several different massage therapists over the years at other places, but Amy is by far the best one I've ever had work on me. The person had the right technique like you would expect from a senior professional. Issue was she is just not strong enough to perform the technique for a good massage. I went last night and they close at 10 and our appointment was at 9 and we were running a few minutes late and they still took us and gave us our full hour of massage. The first time I went to this place, i was really satisfied with the excellent massage and the overall cleanliness and vibe of the place. I was really looking forward to the next time I can reward myself with an hour long body massage. Today, however, I was heartbreakingly disappointed at the lack of skill of my masseuse. She went through the motions of making it look like she was massaging me, but the "massage" felt like someone was just uncomfortably spreading oil around my back for an hour --- a total waste time and money for me. 24 hours ago I woke up with neck/upper back pain from sleeping wrong. It continued throughout the day and into today. I tried doing some slow neck stenches and head turns, but my range of motion was limited. I scheduled a 30 massage during my lunch break and now I feel very refreshed. My pain is now soreness from muscle tightness from the massage. Part of the 30 minute massage had about 5 minutes of hot stones therapy , which I enjoyed very much. The environment is very efficient and no nonsense during my quick appointment. I would go back an try a longer session and see if there are other perks as part of a session. read more

Just went here for the first time! I love that they're open late because I just prefer going to a massage before bed. They had changing rooms with lockers, showers (very clean) and sterile stuff to use like mouthwash, hair combs, lotion. I'm so mad I didn't ask the lady for her name! She gave me an amazing massage. I'm currently 5 months pregnant. They had me lie on my side with a special pillow. I loved the massage and almost fell asleep! My back pain is gone and I came out feeling amazing!
