I have been coming here for over 10 years today on Easter Sunday, April 5. I went up as usual and the lady said no we are totally booked. There wasn't one person in the place and she insisted that they were completely booked two minutes later I had my husband call on the phone and she said oh yes, come right in but she kept saying Massage only Massage only so this leads us to believe that they have transfer session into a illegitimate situation. Do not go here! The front desk lady wouldn't even acknowledge that I was standing there for five minutes before she acknowledged me, which was pretty awkward. Especially because I've never been there before. Then they brought me to the back, where I had paid for a 75 minute massage, and the lady who gave me a massage, kept leaving the room and leaving the door cracked open, which was uncomfortable. She acted as though lotion was in low supply, because she would only use one little tiny drop on me at a time so basically, it was a dry massage, and it was pulling and hurting my skin, because there was no lotion or oil. I paid upon arrival, and although it was very bad, it is not in me to not tip, so I was going to leave a tip, so I walked up to the front, and I stopped at the front desk. And the front desk lady said "how do you want to pay" I thought she was talking about the massage so I told her I already paid for the massage, and she said know how do you want to pay for the tip. The way that they presented it it was like it was not an option at all, but since I was going to leave a tip, I didn't argue, I asked if they did Venmo. And she gave me the QR code to Venmo and I sent over a tip, and I went to walk out, and she made me stop and stay. She would not let me leave until she verified that the tip went through! Like what were they going to do? Lock me in there and hold me hostage if the tip did not go through? They basically treated me like I was a criminal. I will absolutely not be back! Worst massage and worst customer service experience ever. I bought my husband 2 couples massages from this place on Groupon. I called to schedule and they conveniently speak zero English and direct you to their website that half works. The online scheduling enables you to book only one week out, and they don't have evening appointments available. I called at least twice to explain the issue and the lady said she would call me back which never happened. I opened a dispute with Amex, after trying to take it up with Groupon, which does not answer the phone and still has a message saying they are closed for Covid. The Amex dispute quickly got them to respond and speak English and book my appointment. The massage was not relaxing, nor was the environment. The massage "therapists" did not have the experience to really feel the body and get into the problem areas. They left only a very thin sheet that partially covers your whole body to get under after undressing, which made me not even want to take my clothes off. Then they came in and put my feet in a bucket of water. I did not ask for a pedicure, so this was a bit strange to me. They went in and out of the room several times leaving us there, giving my husband plenty of time to complain to me about how terrible the massage was. Needless to say, my husband did not want to go back to use up the second massage gift certificate but I didn't want to waste the money. Super weird experience, will not be going back. Ive had a decent amount of massages and I felt uncomfortable and definitely not relaxed the entire time. I was laying on the massage table with the thin sheet over me, pretty typical, but then a man comes in and puts my feet in a bucket of water, puts a towel over my face, and starts massaging me. He also left the room multiple times and was burping and sighing during the massage. I absolutely enjoy all my massages at My head 2 toe. I've been coming here for about 3 years now and I hate seeing these poor reviews from the groupon community of people. I will start by saying if you are a "SPA" type person requiring 1000 thread count sheets, microfiber blankets, crystal chandeliers, aroma therapy candles, heating pads and whatever else those $100/hr places have to offer....this place is NOT for you. If you have experience with other inexpensive Asian massage places then you feel right at home here. Their open room is much smaller than most, they have a couple of private rooms with doors. A couple of private rooms with curtains and 1 couples massages room. If you want a great massage and a fraction of what the Spas are charging, then this is your place. I don't think I've ever had the same therapist and they've all been wonderful. Despite what some on here are saying, they ARE all Licensed therapists. You will find that most of them are very petite in Stature, so they will position themselves on the table around you (that may mean sitting or kneeling) so to assure that your massage is not compromised and they remain injury free. Not all of them do it, but in my experience most do and it's not a big deal. Truly. Some mentioned about them stepping away. Yes. They do. Mostly 2x. Once to take the foot bath bucket back and the second time to obtain hot towels to wipe off the massage oil. If you were to time their absence I think 90-120 secs is max. Most of the people (not all) working there are very limited on their English, so keep communication simple and don't assume they are being rude. When tipping, please be respectful and hand it to them on your way out or to the receptionist. Don't leave it "on the massage table". and I'll say this, don't think 15-20% of the cost. That low cost is designed for you to be able to tip your therapist better than that. Think of it more like minimum wage. Which is currently $12.00/hr. So that would be at minimum $15 for the 75 minute massage. Even tipping $20 on top of the $40 for 75 minute you still getting out of there for half of what it would cost you in a "spa".....so be thoughtful. Enjoy a great massage. For the price you pay, it's not bad at all. I used the $35 Groupon deal for a 75-minute full body massage package. I booked the last appointment which is at 8:30pm on a Friday night. As I was checking in, my heart almost stopped when the guy behind the counter couldn't find my name on his list. My mind was set to get a massage and so was my body. There was no way I was leaving that place without getting one! Thankfully enough, he figured things out and made sure I got accommodated. Whew! I appreciate that I had my own private room. It was clean, aromatic, and nicely dimmed. Didn't care for the choice of background music though. I would pick relaxing nature sounds over that. But, that's nothing compared to the creaking sound of the floor when someone walks outside. Not relaxing at all! Depending on your preference, you can choose between a male or female masseuse. Lucy took care of me that night. She didn't speak much English but enough to ask me twice if I was okay during the entire duration. I figured that was her way of asking if the pressure was fine. At first, I thought it was too soft so I told her to add pressure which she did. I just wish there was some consistency. There were times when it was perfect, sometimes too soft, and sometimes too hard. Overall, the massage was fine but I've definitely had better. On the plus side, I do appreciate that she has soft hands unlike other places I've been to where you can really feel their calluses against your skin. Now, that's gross! They also offer foot reflexology here where you get to sit in one of the massage chairs in the common room. They have two common rooms with a couple of these chairs so it's something you can do with a group of girlfriends. This is a Chinese operated establishment, which manages its booking through an online system. Prices are reasonable, and employees work hard to get their tips. Today I tried the full body massage, which completely delivered. First the masseuse works on the head and neck. The next part focuses on the foot, which is ticklish at first, but provides a lot of relief. She will also massage your arms, before having you turn around to work on the back. Shoulders, traps, mid back, low back are all addressed in a very thorough manner (she will do some scrambling around the bed to get to those really tough spots). I especially enjoyed her work on knots that have been building up in my upper and mid back area. Buttocks, thighs, and calves are massages too for extra comfort. Employees speak English and mandarin. There is a mixture of pros and cons at My Head 2 Toe. The website appointment system has multiple areas that require improvement. I never received confirmation for two of my requests, and others were all being rejected, while the time frames were appearing as available for days following. Only after multiple phone calls back and forth in a span of 1 hour 30 minutes - because the business kept informing that they'd call back due to the lack of proficient anglophones who could communicate with me - my reservation was confirmed. The reservation system had just failed to send a confirmation email even after a few days. The reservation system would merit around 2/5 stars. The massage was alright. It started off with a very refreshing scalp, head, facial, and neck/shoulder massages while my feet were bathed in warm water. It felt strong and good on some parts, but the masseuse just grazed over my feet instead of actually massaging them for a good 15-minute period, so 10-15 min wasted on that. Also, there were moments when she was just pinching me instead of massaging and it irritated my skin due to not enough use of oil. Overall I'd give this place 3/5 stars for only the massage portion. After the massage, I handed the tip, but the middle-aged lady waited and stared expecting more. She didn't even say thank you and just scoffed/laughed, immediately grumbling in Chinese to the staff as I left the business. I am not surprised by her poor behavior, because in their emails, they insist on "generous tips," "only in cash," etc., which gives customers even less desire to give anything. A tip should be a pleasant surprise, never be a nearly-required expectation. Therefore, for their unappreciative and unprofessional attitude, I'd rate them 0/5 stars. This is definitely a Chinese massage. The style is reminiscent of my own dear mom's massages. They will massage if your face if you say it's okay, which I did despite hating it when people touch my face. They start you on your back! The massage is truly from your head to your toe. I had a woman, and her English seemed to be limited. I am familiar with Mandarin, but even then preferred not to talk much. I'm really grateful that although I arrived 10 minutes late, the lady still did a full 75 minutes. Maybe they were not busy when I went. The scheduling was a breeze. Probably the worst and most uncomfortable experience I have ever had getting a massage...I wish I could leave zero stars. The atmosphere is shady, you can hear everyone and everything that happens in that place so relaxing is not something it brings to the customer. The amount of oil they use on you would be suitable for a slip and slide. And they go so fast I felt like my muscles were going to jump out of my body. On top of that...when you leave. They tell you that you HAVE to tip. Not only do you have to pay for a massage you didn't like...but they REQUIRE that you tip as well. I work in the service industry. I get it.
