Went at end of the year and took about three weeks to get my glasses, never got a text or call to notify me my glasses are available. Order new glasses from them and did not get a case just a cloth with my new glasses. I have three sets of Oakley glasses and always have got a case for them. Goldstone Optometry partners with Total Vision and has horrible service! I would never go back there again to get glasses. I called several times looking for my glasses and left messages, they never returned my calls. When I finally got someone on the phone days later they told me my glasses have been sitting there, further, they're understaffed and no-one is checking messages. Do not go to Goldstone Optometry located in Long Beach on Carson in the Ralph's shopping center. They currently partner with Total Vision and their service sucks!!!! They don't deserve any stars!!! read more

I have seen almost everyone in this practice... Dr. Alan Goldstone was able to treat my eye infection aggressively enough where it was cleared up in one week. I met with other optometrists on follow ups, then Valerie talked to me about Lasix surgery and I was thrilled to be a candidate. I've needed vision correction since I was a child and I can't see my own reflection in the mirror without my glasses or being nose to nose with the mirror. NOW, Today, I saw Dr. Mary Hoang, OD for a dilated pre-op eye exam since I'll be doing my lasix surgery in one week. After 20 years of vision correction, she was the first optometrist to get me to see 20/20!!! Optometrists for years, in different states, different levels of specialty.. and it happened today! I'm just so thrilled because never in my lifetime did I think it was possible to see so clearly!!! Your office doesn't return phone calls to even set up an appointment. Super frustrating.

I'm very pleased with this office! Saturday was my first visit and everyone was very thorough and polite. Dr. Hwang was knowledgeable and helped answer all of my questions as well as providing a speedy exam. Before I knew it, we were all finished and it was time to pick a pair of frames. I wanted both contacts and frames, but they informed me that with my insurance it would be better to get the frames covered and just order my contacts out of pocket because it will be more cost effective. Thank you for that!! I had no idea what I was looking for when I was browsing, luckily a woman offered to help me and she ended up picking my frames for me. I went with these beautiful Dolce & Gabbana cat eye glasses that I just can't wait to pick up. They let me split the payment (half now/half at pickup) which made it much easier for me to convince my husband I NEEDED this pair. They also made me an in-house appointment for a Lasik consultation...that's exciting! I'll definitely be back and will refer others. Thank you to the whole team for a lovely experience!!! read more

My appt was at 130pm. I arrived at 120pm. I waited for about 10-15 mins before the receptionist acknowledged me, asked for my insurance card, etc. She made a copy of my insurance card and ID. She was friendly, but very busy. After paying upfront for the cost of my exam, I was instructed to wait for my name to be called by the technician. I noticed that the office has been renovated since the last time I came. Looks like they're adding a lasik center or an office for patients to have a consultation. They tested my eyes for glaucoma, etc. I always experience discomfort when they or anyone blows air in my eyes. The technician was not sympathetic and made me feel like I was wasting her time. After trying 2 times, she quit and said I'd have to do the test later. She deserves the award for best customer service... not! Finally saw the doctor around 220p or so. Why was my wait so long, especially because I had an appointment?! The optometrist was ok. He seemed concerned with selling products vs. addressing some of my concerns. The worst part was when he walked me out and reminded the receptionist to collect payment for his services... I was really turned off by that. Also, I paid before I even saw anyone! I won't be returning to this office. I've gotten better service and care with other optometrists--and when optometrists are a dime a dozen, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

It literally took more than 30 mins for them to help me out just to pick up my contacts. It was not even busy at all... very disappointed with this location, I will for sure not be coming back because it takes way too long to get any service. I had to pretty much go to the front counter and ask why it was taking long, apparently the woman with curly hair and glasses did not notify the other woman about me. 4 stars because they're all so dang nice! Was there recently for an exam and new glasses. The exam went well, or so I thought until I picked up my glasses. The Rx in one eye was completely off so they sent them back to the lab to be corrected. The second set of lenses were worse so they asked me to see another Optometrist. The second doctor made a change to the prescription and so my fingers are crossed that after the third try at making my glasses I'll actually be able to see out of them. The selection of frames at the Long Beach office is quite limited (at least for me) which a bummer so I found a frame that I feel comfortable with elsewhere. Dispensing is done on the sidewalk outside the office which is inconvenient on so many levels but I'm guessing this has to do with limiting the number of people inside the office because of Covid - safer for everyone, especially the staff as they come in contact with so many people during the course of a workday. The front desk staff is very friendly and efficient. Monique, the Optician that helped me is kind and funny and very helpful. She's the one that made this ordeal tolerable and I thank her for that. Times are difficult for everyone right now so a little grace goes a long way and Monique is just that, grace under pressure. read more

Personally don't use them because I don't need glasses, but my father has experienced some VERY BAD customer service here. He was told that his glasses would take one week to be made and that they would give him a call. After THREE weeks, he still received no call that they were ready for him to pick up. When he called, they gave him the run around and some excuse. Whoever he spoke to said, "Oh! We just opened up the boxes right now. It just came in.." Sure. So he went in today to pick up the glasses he waited three weeks for and the technician just handed him the glasses. It seemed like the tech just expected him to leave. Kinda like, "Here are your glasses, now get out." He wasn't told to try them on to see if they fit. Even Lenscrafters does this for you. When my father saw that they were slipping off his face, he told the technician and the technician disappeared with the glasses in the back for a while. Didn't fit it on his head to get a right fit so of course they were still loose. My father had to fix them himself. Oh, and they tried to charge him $3 for a glasses cloth. Complimentary at other places. YOU COULD FIND BETTER SERVICE AT A MALL. read more

The good news: it's probably better than Walmart. The bad news: not by much. Didn't get examined by the tech until 45 mins after appointment time. Seating in waiting area is airline style (pack 'em like sardines). They got the prescription right, so the mechanics are OK. ----- Follow up: we ordered two pairs of glasses, one for me, one for my wife. My glasses arrived on time and were correct. Her glasses arrived several weeks late and one of the lenses was unusable due to an incorrect prescription. The additional visit to the office to pick up my wife's glasses was as zoo-like as prior visits, and featured quite a lengthy wait even though all they had to do was get the glasses out of the back and bring them to the front. To their credit, they offered to re-examine my wife, and were fairly prompt about refunding the cost of her glasses when she declined. Still, I'm marking them down from three stars to two. 3/26/11 Update: Though they refunded the cost of the glasses to my wife, they billed our insurance. The insurance company, none the wiser, paid the claim. Thus, my wife was ineligible for glasses coverage for two more years. We followed up with the insurance company, which had to recollect their reimbursement from Dr. Goldstone's office. After all that, we were able to get my wife the glasses she needed. Review knocked down to one star because working with this office has been a hassle from start to after we'd thought we'd finished. read more

Not a goof place to purchase your prescription glasses; I paid a one time $99 glassfor they said they provide a 6 months warranty for the frame but within that one year they will only replace your glasses one time, so technically theres no warranty. Went to pick up my daughters glasses today. Her doctor referred us here to check her vision. We made an appointment and came early. Like other yelpers said, the wait is long! We waited an extra 20-30 minutes to be seen and the seating area was packed with people standing. Probably them making too many appointments at same time or being too slow. We were finally seen and the doctor said she sees fine, but could use a low prescription for maybe reading and homework. So we said fine we will get a pair of glasses. When we went to pick them out, the employee said the paperwork claimed our daughter needed full time glasses which was wrong. We came back today to pick them up after we got a voicemail and text from them. No one in the waiting area. One employee was helping the only other customer and another employee was answering non-stop phone calls. The place was empty! Finally a woman came from the back to help us after waiting for 10min or so. Overall, small waiting area for the amount of customers they have. Slow operation, but friendly staff for the 2 stars. read more

When I tried ordering them with my eye glasses prescription, Lisa went out of her way to contact my optometrist to get a copy of the right prescription. Even while my original optometrist (not dr. goldstone) was being extremely useless, Lisa was still extremely nice and did her best to keep me from waiting forever to order them! Yes I'm highly disappointed. I've been coming here since I was 7. I bring my kids here my mom and my wife. When I arrived at 1025 there was no one in the waiting room. My appointment was at 1030. About 3-4 people who signed in after me have been seen or helped while I still wait. I brought my 2and 3 year old had I known it was gonna be this long I would've packed the a lunch and brought more water. I have 2 older girls who also come here they get out early from school today. At 121pm I don't know if I will be out of here in time I already waited almost a month for this appointment. I really need it my vision is so bad my current glasses barely work. If I can't stay I don't know when I'll be able to come back it's hard to find a babysitter. I just don't understand. read more

I came 5 minutes early for my appointment and waited 40 minutes before Dr. Goldstone saw me. He was very friendly. After all my eye tests, I asked him if laser eye surgery would suit me. He said it wouldn't, since my eye sight isn't that bad, and it would be more of an annoyance to see things that are in close range than a benefit. I'm glad he was honest. Every time I've gone, the other staff is courteous as well. I would suggest, however, if you're waiting for more than 15 minutes and you have an appointment, go up and remind them you're there. It seems to get too busy for them sometimes and they forget you're waiting. read more

My wait time for my initial visit was long. It took about an hour to be seen. However, the staff were friendly and courteous. Dr. Goldstone apologized for the long wait since two of their doctors were on vacation. He took his time on my needs and even made helpful recommendations. My succeeding visits went well- to refit my contact lenses. One of the doctors saw me and did not hesitate when I asked for a rebate on the brand I settled with. When I arrived I was very impressed of the service they gave me after my daughter had eye examined and we went over to the table and talk to a wonderful lady who told me that I can purchase 2 pair of my daughter's glasses to day I explained to her I needed to run to my house to grab some more money so that I can purchase the glasses when I got back their receptionists told me they were closed and I asked her nicely if I can just pay for the glasses I feel like she was very rude and I will not recommend this place to any of my family or friends once I get my daughter's glasses I'm never going back to this place. read more
