More Red Bordeaux than for example Toco Hills or Tower, and in a more attractive (temp-controlled?) & sensible organization(by sub-regions) as well. Here & there, some great values to be had. No annoying surcharges for credit card payment. Helpful staff. Cons: Other than Spain & Italy, I don't recall other wines being organized by region. I was looking for South African, and most of them were under the "Other Varietals" section (since most are Pinotages). Their bulk discount only applies to a case of the same type - unlike Toco, Tower, & Hop City, which have a 6-bottle mix-&-match discount. Overall - I'd drop in if I'm in the area again. read more

This Total Wine was okay but it was kind of disappointed me in not selling liquor. My previously frequented Total Wine is located on Northpoint in Alpharetta. It had everything and was glorious. The guy checking me out explained why they don't sell liquor. Apparently only two Total Wines in the area have liquor licenses. What a bummer. This review is for the & More part of this store. the & more being beer! I was looking for something specific and was told it was in stock here so here is where I came. I am so happy I did!! Craft Beer heaven!! There's like 6 rows of the stuff plus refrigerators. I love the following: 1.Beers are in sections according to their types! Best thing ever! If you like a certain style and want to try something new, its easier to find. 2. You can mix and match 6 packs! Oh freaking yea! If you want to try stuff this is the best way to do it without committing to a whole 6 pack or large bottle. 3. There is a nice selection of local beers as well as European beers! Listen they do beers right over there. Now I can pick some to try on my on? Yes Please! The store is huge and I imagine the wine selection is just as appealing. I definitely have to go back to take a look at the wine. But definitely if you are looking to up your craft beer game, Total Wine definitely has a selection for you to get started. Go! Finally took a look inside this location hey why not I to have pass it twice a day. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and more than willing to help. There are a couple of pro's and con's when shopping here. On the up side - Lot's of beer, wine and wares here if you are looking for a gift to give someone or several for yourself, know that openers to some really cool decanters can be found. Con's - They do not sell spirits (liquor) here. The state of Georgia says "if a retailer has more than one store (being several in the state) only two can sell spirits." All other locations can only sell beer and wine." What are you kidding me ? "No" was the answer so know walking in your getting none of the rough stuff. If you like a bit of tasting you Can do this here. The locations selling spirits won't allow it (again state law). So should you stop by on a weekend to pick up a few things you might just get to try Italy, Spain and bit of France in just a few minutes. read more

This location has exceptional customer service from the moment you enter the store to helping you load the items in your car! I go out of my way to buy wine at this location after the great experience I had in December. I wrote this review over a month ago (waiting until gift was given) and forgot to post... I decided to create a personalized beer subscription for my mate. I know nothing about beer and after quite a bit of research on stout beers. I stopped by Total Wine on a Friday afternoon. I wondered around a little and found a few beers that I found during my research. I shared my gift idea with Maurice and he was excited to help. My boyfriend's favorite type of beers are the same as his! Maurice helped me load up on beers that fit the plan while educating me on beers. Maurice's knowledge and passion of the beers at the store was amazing! I ended up with about 14 beers ranging in price from a few dollars to $20. He even gave me a few suggestions that were not carried there. He gave me a list of upcoming beer tasting that we could stop by at the store on Saturdays. When I checked out Davis assisted me with finding a box to put them in that was sturdy and had separators. The service that day was beyond superior and personal. In the several visits since this day the service has continued to be great. I ran into Maurice recently on one of those visits and he remembered me! Asked how my boyfriend liked the gift and which were his favorite so far. read more

I started a wine learning project. Finding rare kinds of wine is a problem for me. Not for this supermarket. I was amazed the variety they offer. Really, from $1000 to $5 a bottle, you can definitely find your soft spot. They also have their own reward program and discounts. What's more, try their high quality wine direct, imported from wineries all over the world. I easily found a $15 super Tuscany, and lots of wines from Bordeaux. I did look at some rare wines, like petit syrah, which they didn't have a lot. How about Japanese sake? It looked like a big selection, but not top notch sake(Daiginjo-shu). When I heard that my favorite store to get wine opened up a new location near where I live I was elated. I've visited this location twice and neither time did I get the warm fuzzy feeling like I do at the Perimeter location. There is always someone who comes around and asks if you need help like at the other stores. I love the variety at Total Wine and More and can typically find all my favs whether it's my favorite San Antonio Sweet Red Wine, a specific plum wine, or sometimes I just throw a bunch in my cart so I can try something new. My most recent visit was with my niece who came to live with me from Maryland who accompanied me while I shopped for wine. Upon entering the store there is a sign if you are under 21 and not with a parent or legal guardian you can not enter, naturally since I am my nieces legal guardian we walked in the store. When I checked out the young lady at the register asked myself and my niece for ID. I explained that she was a minor and I was her aunt. The young lady said are you her sister I said nooooo her aunt and legal guardian. The cashier looked amazed, I will assume that since she never looked at my ID she must have thought I was a lot younger than what I am and thought I was lying. She then asked her Manager what to do in a case where only 1 person was over 21 years of age. I was asked to leave the store and they could not sell me wine with my niece in my presence. I wasn't sure if I should be offended by the entire experience or excited that they both thought I was not in my late thirties and that there was no way possible to have a teenage niece that I take care of. When I recall my teenage years the last thing I could imagine is asking someone to purchase wine for me but I guess anything is possible. Either way that was my last time at this location I will travel the extra 3 miles to the Perimeter location. read more

We rented their wine tasting room for a birthday party for 22 people. We went for the European selection. The food was catered by another restaurant. This was one of the best small party we have hosted. The staff there was very accommodating and helped us in all possible ways. Very knowledgeable and entertaining during presentation so everyone was engaged throughout. Kudos to Sean for keeping all of us in line. We will definitely come here again for events and recommend this to all our friends. read more

I was shopping this store online and found a bourbon specific to this store. After driving through Atlanta traffic, which is a nightmare all in itself, once I arrived and inquired about the isle it would be located in, I was told this was a beer and wine ONLY store. What a joke!!! I will shop the local, smaller businesses from now on. They don't seem to perform the "bait and switch" or borderline, false advertisement. read more

Pretty awful experience. Looked for beer online and it says it's available so we drive to the store. Store seems pretty nice & clean. We walk around but cannot find the beer we are to buy so I ask a guy at the register and he says they do not have it. So why does it say online that it's available? Anyways so we look for something else and decided to buy something else. When we get to the register, the lady asks for our IDs without even ringing anything up. So me & my wife hand her our IDs but the lady asks my wife's friend and she did not bring hers. I am in my mid 40s & my wife is a few years younger & her friend is in her late 30s. So the lady refuses service since my wife's friend forgot her ID. She was not buying anything!!! I was just buying beer that I didn't even come here to buy. The lady says all people in the party needs to have ID. What??? If that's the case, why not check ID before coming in the store??!! So if I buy one bottle of beer, she needs to see IDs from 3 people??? And we clearly look well over 21!!! Also the lady says I can come back later to buy my beer and that they will hold my beer for me. What??!! How stupid is that?? I do not leave any reviews but this was such an awful experience that we will never be back!!! read more

After a keenly unpleasant experience at Tower Wine & Spirits in Doraville, which perhaps could have been avoided had any employee been willing to look up a sku number to see if an item their site listed as in stock was, in fact, in the store; I went to the baby-small package store near my home. Baby package had little that could not be found in a grocery store and I was shopping for a gift. So, I went home and researched package stores. I decided to try Total Wine & More. Their site did not list the item that had been my first choice at Tower. So, I made a new list. The Total Wine & More site tells you which aisle each item is located on. As with Tower, I drove by the package store closer to my home to get to Total Wine & More. I strolled inside and walked directly to the correct area. Rather than two out of five or six items being in stock, everything on my list which the website said was in stock was right there on the shelves. I studied the descriptions below each bottle and made my selection. There were no used car salesmen type employees trying to up-sale me. It was completely stress free. When looking at their nice selection of very cheap gift bags, I realized they had cute little gift boxes that came with tissue and a ribbon for only a dollar more. The cashier was friendly asking if I had found everything I wanted. This is the place to buy any alcoholic beverages not on your grocery store shelves. read more

I spent 10 minutes looking for a six pack to buy, and then they wouldn't let me check out because my girlfriend, who wasn't paying, didn't have her ID on her. If you're going to have a stupid policy like that you could at least put a giant warning sign on the door so people don't waste their time. read more

I was sent a mailer in the USPS mail with free coupons to the store. It's not really in my hood so it is a bit of trek for me. I have visited a Total Wine & More at another location and loved their variety. I figured the coupons gave me the excuse to get a nice bottle of wine. I had recently had a nice, sweet glass of Moscato at a local restaurant and was hoping I could find it here. They did! Woo hoo. I was able to use my coupon to get some free stemless glasses, but they were already out of the wine bags. Boo. Checkout was a bit confusing as some employees were working at some stations, but not doing checkout. It was hard to figure out where you were supposed to go. An older lady just stopped, looked at them quizzically, and asked where she was supposed to check out. Thank goodness she asked as I was finishing up my wine selection and had been wondering the same thing. Check out the map at the store entrance. Super helpful. read more

The staff at this Total wine is the most friendly & helpful staff I have ever come across. My grandfather-in-law is allergic to gluten & they have every type of gluten free beer out there. If they sold liquor I would never go anywhere else. Also, the selection is unmatched. read more
