I don't drink much, but when I do, I've always enjoyed my experiences at Total Wine and Moore. The staff has been helpful, the store has been clean, the displays are immaculate! I went in today and found a bottle of whiskey I was looking for. As I was standing in line I looked up, returned the whiskey to the shelf, and walked out. I understand this business has a right to support whomever & whatever they wish, but I also have the right to spend my consumer dollars at a place that does not support an ideology that encourages & facilitates perpetual victimhood. read more

I reached out to the Columbia SC store on Saturday July 9 about this. Afterward I called Total Wine's national customer service number (855) 328-9463, sat on hold for 15 minutes and then requested the auto call back. No one ever called me back, even though I indicated this was about fraud. The local store (Columbia SC) also never called me back, even though the Manager said she would. The fraudulent charge has not yet been reversed - 12 days later. I am only making this public review because no one called us back and we still have $1300+ charged on our card. I wrote this same letter to Total Wine's media relations department and called as well. Below are the details. It sounds like an inside job, and the person should be arrested. On the morning of Saturday July 9, I had three email notifications from Total Wine: 1 - Thank you for your order (171612523) - an order I did not make - indicating a pickup window of 11:00-1:00 at a store in Columbia SC. I do not live in SC nor do I have any connection to the state whatsoever. This was 58 items totaling $1,343.94. A large order that, in my opinion, should be a red flag. Bottom of email indicates the order was under my name and charged to my husband's Amex card 2 - 44 minutes later - "Your order is ready for pickup" standard email following up from the order - This is a very quick turnaround considering the large order. I am a frequent customer of my local Total Wine store in Phoenix and Scottsdale. Most orders I make (far smaller than this one) take at least several hours, sometimes the next day. 3 - 35 minutes later - "Your order has been picked up" standard email following a pick up order - Again, a very quick turnaround. I am on Mountain time, so I didn't see these emails until it was too late. Most concerning is that I know Total Wine's policy is to have an ID checked before picking up an order. In my personal experience with Total Wine, my ID has been thoroughly checked every single time at the Phoenix and Scottsdale locations. I know it is of paramount importance to your company, due to liquor license issues. This is not something your team takes lightly, my ID has always been checked. Clearly - on July 9th in Columbia SC, the pick up person's ID was not checked. Frankly, due to the size/amount of this order, it should have been double-checked. Given that my account is Grand Reserve status, and that we have been loyal customers for years, I am surprised no one on Total Wine's customer service team reached out. We are disappointed in your security and your service. I hope that you find the employee who made this crime possible. read more

I love this place. They have every spirit you can think of. Even my local fave, Doc Porters. You can order online for curbside pickup of beer & wine. Ive been to this location plenty of times, jus forgot to review. The store is very large with 2 separate sections, depending on what you are looking for, lots of parking. The traffic in the Harbison area is horrible on the weekends, so go during the week if possible. The store is clean and the staff is very helpful. Thru out the yr I sample diff drinks and take classes here. They have everything you want and more, especially for you mixologist! I love the liqueur ice cream tastings, so yum yum, they keep it in stock also. For the most part the staff is knowledgeable, so ask and learn. read more

Older brunette lady with glasses (to be specific working 06/10/24) One of the most ignorant encounters I've dealt with in my life. Showing up to the front door at 6:57pm seeking to purchase ONE bottle I was told they were closed and wouldn't sell past 7pm. Okay? This is SC law but then again IT WAS NOT 7pm? When most normal people would be much easier going or apologetic for closing EARLY this lady seemed to be happy and somehow snarky at the same time. I can only hope that GREENS will have better customer service since this is where I'll be going from now on. I see other people have also dealt with similar issues in regard to customer service so let's hope management can get rid of people like this. read more

I have never been disappointed with Total Wine. We buy wine, bourbon, cognac and occasionally cigars. The selection is wide ranging and staff are routinely friendly and helpful. Recently we were looking for Italian wines specifically and Caroline (at the Greenville store) offered expert advice and was fun as well. I don't see how you could go wrong there! read more

I always have a great shopping experience at the Total Wine on Harbison Blvd in Columbia SC. The staff are always so helpful and professional. On Dec. 20th I purchased a very nice bottle of French Champagne. When I got to my office and opened the back door to my car the bottle fell out and smashed in a thousand pieces. Later that afternoon I went back to Total Wine to purchase another bottle. I was telling the cashier my story about the first bottle while the Assistant Manager was walking past us. He stopped after hearing the story and graciously offered me a 25% discount in the new bottle. He certainly did not have to do that. I was very grateful to say the least. Yeah this place is nice! It is divided. One side is for wine and the other side is for liquor and they have a huge selection. They have plenty of people dressed nicely out on the floor to help you if you have questions. They also have a taster that has several bottles open that you can sample. This TW&M was very nice, the staff were very helpful, and the selection was AH-MAZ-ING. If you want a specific wine or spirit and can't find it at TW&M, it probably doesn't exist. If, however, it does exist, just check with an employee to see if they can order for you. I hated the parking lot this store was in, but it is part of a larger strip mall. My experience here was spot on. I know there are a few places to buy alcohol in Columbia, but I think you'd be hard pressed to find exactly what you want at the prices that you'll find at this store. read more

They knew their stuff and were great at breaking it down for me, a lay person who doesn't know anything about alcohol, doesn't drink alcohol, and needed to bring a bottle of something nice back home as a gift. 2. And staff is friendly, but not very helpful in the sense that they search for an item accurately, or promise a restocked item until eternity by saying "thats usually an end of the month item, that our shipment comes in". If you've heard that at all just go to bottles. Bottles is a no nonsense provider of whatever you need. Bitters and cocktail ingredients for days. The store layout seems different than a few years ago but that is good. The entire store looks newer and has a tasty room of some sorts in the back. Many beers to choose from on the right hand side of this location. I found exactly what I was looking for from Holy City today. Cashiers were really nice and talkative and seem to be in good cheer. The rest of the staff seemed kinda of neutral and kind of whatever. But not every place you has time to sit and talk about ales and porters for an hour they have jobs to do here. Would shop here more but I hate Harbison traffic like the plague, it takes forever to get here and off the interstate. I suggest getting here mid morning to lessen the gridlock you have to sit in. I have been there twice. Both times in search of a particular bottle of wine. The 1st time they looked it up and told me they didn't have it. I explained that my son have found it on line on there web site that said it was in stock. Was told they didn't even carry wine from that winery. So I wandered and asked another employee who immediately lead us to exactly what we wanted. Went back a couple months later because it's the only place within 2 hours we can get it. Went to grab it and they didn't have it in the same place. Explained that last time if was not listed on the computer. I knew the man wasn't listening. He wanders to where he thinks it will be. We call this place the "Boozateria". While the cigar selection is somewhat limited, their selection of wine, beer, and liquors are second to none. I love bringing people in who have never been there. The look on their faces are priceless. I've been to both this and the Kennesaw, GA locations. Always great service, very knowledgeable staff who can answer any questions you have. We had stopped in Columbia in the fall and did a little re-stocking of our depleted wine cellar and, at the time, I thought it was a little dingy and didn't compare to the others I'd been to. Our travels brought us through Columbia recently and we had a huge shopping list to catch up on so we made a bee line to Total Wine. I noticed right away that improvements had been made and this place now is spectacular! Clean, well lit, well stocked and organized, modern restrooms, and helpful staff. She just stood there as I had to put the bottles in paper bags so that the didn't clank together and she just stood there while I then put them in plastic bags in order to carry them from the store. Today at Total Wine Harbison I tried paying for Father's Day gifts with a check so that it would be a surprise for my hubby. And he wouldn't be paying for his own present. First I started with a business check. The cashier questioned that, so I tore it up and complied by writing a personal check. The cashier had to leave one side and go to the other side to process the check. She returned with someone, and she explained the check could not be processed. It had been tried twice. I charged the gifts. Called my bank to check on said funds as there was considerable funds there. No problem with the account. Went to other side to address the issue. The cashier had written the wrong birthday as information, but I was told that had nothing to do with? In no way did either person I was speaking with lead me to believe they were truly sorry.
