This place is ridiculously huge and has an amazing selection. I could spend hours in here just looking and learning about new drinks. They have anywhere from entry level drinks all the way to quiet expensive drinks. They also had several different "tastings" going on. Whatever you do check the prices as they ring up. The overcharge rate is running around 18% with me based on around $16 G's over the past 8 years or so...Oh if anyone purchases the Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier make sure to tell them the real price is $4.49 as marked...not $4.99 like it keeps ringing up for the past 5 years. What a great place to shop for Beer, Wine, and Liquor. The staff there has never steered me wrong, they've often recommended wines that were priced less than I indicated I wanted to spend. Never had a bad rec.. Selection is better than Specs, prices are better and they have much nicer décor. Who cares that they don't have a small wildly overpriced gourmet food section? Went here for Woodford bourbon tasting event on a Saturday. It was a live feed from distillery in Kentucky. They had a pairing with some foods here that was different. We had an Old Fashion mixed with Woodford. You got to keep your bourbon glass at the end. Representative was on hand for questions. Had a few buys on their brand afterwards. Everything was good. Live feed guys had more to drink than paying customers. So pairing was limited to some extent. Chairs were a little uncomfortable. Room was tight for tasting. Live feed quality was good at best. Overall a good experience. Will try another tasting here. read more

I run a nonprofit and I buy our gala here and this year I over bought beer and brought it back to return and was told very rudely that "we tell every customer beer is non returnable" I wasn't told that and it was still in the cases in bottles unopened had gone from the store to my home and back in less than a week and they wouldn't refund now I'm stuck with 4 cases and a charity that helps marginalized women around the globe suffers for it. I know it was my fault for not calculating correctly but we've never had an issue before and they handled it so rudely. We will find another store for future events read more

Normally great. Not today.. They are having a sale on all bottled beer $17.99 a case. Made a special trip guess what they were completely out of Bud light in the bottle . Very large selection, especially of wines. The two employees I dealt with were both very nice, but neither had any idea where I might find the item I was looking for. It is an obscure whisky, so I was expecting as much. The other item I went in looking to see if they had in stock is a pretty common whisky available at other chain spirits stores, yet neither had any idea what I was talking about. Prices were OK from what I saw, but I was expecting a more knowledgeable staff. I get my ID was expired and but to have one associate have no problems over the weekend with my ID then to come in for a valentines gift on Valentine's Day and get rejected is so frustrating. I don't get how some associates can let it fly but others won't; it's bad business ethics. Won't be coming back here probably ever because the least they could of done was be nice when I was leaving upset - but nope had to add "no problem" when I said they ruined my Valentine's Day gift. read more

Total Wine provided the wine, beer, and champagne for my wedding last month. Ellwyn helped us out when we came to the store by making some suggestions for each that we took home to try. We can in and had a question about bulk liquor and our cashier had asked what I thought was the manager about it. The manager named Ashely was not helpful at all. She made it seem like we were bothering her by asking a question. On our way out we asked if she could take our basket because our hands were full. She basically told us no and said you can take it to the door. We spent a good amount of money there to be treated like that. The customer service by the management staff was horrible. The manager was so rude. My husband wanted to buy two bottles of Hennessy Privilege and he was told it's one bottle per person, per day. 1st let me say I tried to fill out a Total Wine & More survey on their site & cked 'Strongly Disagree' on several ?. Site wouldn't accept my survey even after 4 attempts. So I tied 'Neither Agree or Disagree' oddly survey wouldn't go thru. Always came back 'Oops please try again' Seriously? Sooo I answered all the ? 'Agree' & site magically allow my Survey to go thru. So below is my Real Opinion: I've never written a review about Total Wine & More but I was so irritated by treatment I received. I came into Collin Creek store @ 6:30pm. I walked in just as someone left desk. I waited & waited as several employees walked by me no one addressed me. Finally I pulled up TW&M # on my cell & called this store. Phone started ringing right next to me & Lisa the Store Manager came to desk to answer phone & saw me. Lisa did not apologize for making me wait & said "can I help you." "I ordered online & I need to pick up my order" Lisa asked for my ID, which she didn't actually ck, & went get my order. Lisa wasn't friendly, didn't smile & seemed genuinely annoyed that I was there. Lisa came back with my order. As soon as I saw it I knew it wasn't my entire order which was over $250. She put a copy of order on counter & told me to ck my order & sign. I said "I'm supposed to ck my order?" "Yes, most people want to ck order before they sign it" I told her I had never had to ck my own order before. "Well if you don't want to I can do it." I did ck my order & 4 items, an entire box, was missing from my order. A young man, I didn't get his name but he had light brown hair & a ponytail, came by & Lisa sent him to look for missing box. The box was very heavy & he struggled to put it in my cart. I signed my order & stood there for a moment waiting for someone to ask if I needed help to my car with my $250+ order. They had both turned from counter. No offer to help me, no thank you, nothing. We only buy our wine & liquor @ TW&M and 9 times out of 10 on line w/ pick-up @ Collin Creek location. I've never had an unpleasant experience @ TW&M until tonight. I've never seen this Store Manger Lisa before but she needs a serious lesson in Customer Service. Customers like me who spend over $250, small order compared to some, are the reason she has a job. Lisa definitely doesn't need to be dealing w/ customers without a major attitude adjustment. I'm not a big drinker but I do like to have a nice glass of whiskey every once in a while. I don't really like beer that much but I have found one beer that is fantastic and I highly recommend that everyone tries it it's called Kentucky Bourbon barrel and all that has a little bit of coffee in it. Total wine is about the only place I can find it in their prices are incredible a lot better than other liquor stores also the people that I have come in contact with that work at this location are very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. read more

DO NOT DO A SPECIAL ORDER! I ordered a special keg of beer for my husband 10 days ago. They said it would be in today and when I called to check, the guy immediately and quite flippantly told the person on the phone that, yeah, it is out of stock. When I asked why they did not tell me sooner so that I could order from somewhere else, they did not have an explanation. They said most people just say call me when it's in. That is such BS, most folks order for a special occasion. They said the order was "partially fulfilled."!? read more

Have gone to Total Wine several times before, but today I had such a bad experience that I will never be back. Walked around the entire store with my 12 year old sister (she looks older). We were on our way home from picking her up from an after school activity, and I didn't want her sitting in the car. So I go to the check out line, and the woman IDs both of us. My sister was like "I'm 12." I was trying to explain that I am her sister, and that she just had to come into the store with me because I didn't want to leave her outside by herself. And so the manager came over, and I tried to explain it but before I got 5 words out, the manager cut me off in the rudest way possible to say "NOPE I CAN'T SELL YOU ANYTHING. SHE IS A MINOR. YOU ARE NOT HER GUARDIAN." Well she never even asked if I was her guardian, so I'm not sure how she knew I wasn't. And she was completely rude and raised her voice, not even listening. I will never be back to Total Wine. Their loss because I would've spent over $100 here today- and many times in the future. The policy itself (if this is the policy) is ridiculous to begin with, but the automatic attitude from the manager is enough for me to feel comfortable NEVER giving any money to this place again. read more

Worst place to get anything. Terrible selection! Manager yelled at me for being with my friend, while purchasing and I was not even buying. Great selection and most of the staff I spoke to was curteous and knowledgeable. However, check out was another story. The, I hesitate to call her lady, woman staffing the register we picked had no trouble selling burbon to my visiting boyfriend but flat refused to sell to my brother reisling (who had valid ID and was paying) because our entire group of 4 could not produce iD. She quoted some "store rule" that everyone in the check out line needed to produce a valid ID even if not actually purchasing liquor. This was AFTER she'd already sold my boyfriend. She became extremely curt and defensive when we asked to see the manager and claimed she was the store manager. After she took the reisling (but let us keep the already purchased burbon.), we walked out but then went back just inside the door to see that she was not "carding everyone in every group" as she had claimed the store rules required. At this point, a for more curteous gentleman came up and identified himself as the REAL store manager. After we told him about what had happened, he didn't confirm whether her quoted rule actually existed, but said that since three of our group was family, he would allow my brother to purchase the wine. I don't have a problem with rules.. only when they aren't consistant and single out individuals. read more

Negative stars!! Incredibly rude and unprofessional staff. My husband and I stopped here over the holidays with my family from out of town to pick up some wine to have with our dinner. My little sister (she is 18) came in the store and we were quickly told to leave, our cart was confiscated and we were surrounded by 4 staff members as if we had stolen something! Apparently anyone underage is prohibited. One staff member said it was store policy, the other said it was state law. I would be happy to comply with either if we were approached and told respectfully instead of like we were criminals. I will never stop here. read more

Service was excellent when I was buying over a dozen bottles wine, champagne and packs of beer for my college graduation party. What really sealed the deal was my ability to return any unopened bottles of wine. Less than five days after my original purchase I went into the store to return the unopened bottles of wine and was met with restrictions for returns I wasn't made aware of during my initial purchase. I have never brought such a large quantity of alcohol before, usually I buy one or two bottles of wine at a time. Unfortunately I'm stuck with bottles of red wine that I won't drink. If you are planning to buy a large quantity of alcohol make sure you are get all the information on returning items before making a purchase with this store. I was extremely disappointed and I will never purchase any products from this store ever again. I've heard great things about SPEC'S and hopefully they will be more appreciative of customers. read more

An awful experience both times I went. First time I went in preparation for my anniversary and wanted to get a nice bottle of wine. Walked in and was eventually approached by a manager. I explained to him why I was there and he asked if I was going to take long because they were about to close even though they were open for another 30 minutes...and then said he was too busy to help me and walked away so I left. Second time I went was a few days ago to get christmas presents with my brother. At the checkout line the cashier asked to see my ID...she called down two separate managers to check it and they questioned my thoroughly on it even though it was a Texas state issued drivers license....and then they made sure to open and to check every one of the packages to make sure I was not trying to steal anything. Took a few minutes for them to do this all the while the line is being backed up. My brother went afterwards and they did not even ask for his ID or check any of the boxes he had. Terrible experience being singled out like that. I have and will continue to tell others of how terrible this store is to their customers. I will drive farther just to give my business to someone else. read more
