This place is great; I could spend hours looking around at all the varieties of spirits, wine etc. The prices are great too; I rarely find a better price anywhere else. All that said, I'm all about customer service and on two occasions in the past month, we've received great customer service. On one occasion a cashier made a simple error when we purchased some gift cards (and we did not notice the error); the manager (I believe Jerry was his name) called us and informed us of the error and wanted to fix it. He was very apologetic and wanted to make things right. On the other occasion, I bought the wrong sized bottle of bourbon and needed to exchange it for a different size, but I had bought it with Gift Cards, so the exchange was a little time-consuming. Christina (a manager I assume) took me aside to a different register and got the exchange done and made things right. She was awesome. Total wine and more has way more alcohol selections than Bevmo, and better prices! This store is huuuge! My boyfriend enjoyed walking up and down every isle just to stare at all of the different alcohol. There were a lot of friendly staff that offered help and greeted us. I wish they had more locations around the south bay so I didn't have to drive so far but it's worth it. read more

This store is a joke! Management here is a joke. Lines were long and slow! Then the two cashiers that were open were under a light that was being changed and to top it off the light fell and hit a customer! I was lucky enough where I moved in time before the light fell but the customer behind me was not as lucky! Then once the light fell, the managers seemed to care less about the customer and more concerned about the merchandise not being broken then the customer who was bleeding!! Beware- do not come here at all cost! The 5-10 min drive to BevMo is worth it. Never coming back! Horrible store and bad experience! To top it off- I submitted a survey of my experience and they called me and seemed more concerned about me not submitting a bad review of the store then fixing the problems in this store. The manager ALMA NEEDS TO BE FIRED. I have never encountered a manager so nasty and rude! She was so disrespectful. A different manager told me to park all the way down the street and then gave me grief about my ID when clearly I look over 30. Their sign even says under 30 need ID. To add insult to injury she got smart and told me I should have known better. It's not your place to say things in a disrespectful tone to people as a manager. You are so unprofessional and should consider a different career since you don't understand the concept of manners! Horrible delivery service via DoorDash Don't understand the process. DoorDash called to confirm recipient. It's on the order. In addition, they asked who the sender was. I asked if the card I typed out was on the order. They stated that the only note is "this is a gift". Of course it's a gift, what else would it be. What's the point if recipient doesn't know who sent it. This was a horrible experience. Never ordering from you again. I love the store but delivery really sucks. Do not recommend. read more

I was in this store with my niece who is 20, I am 25, when we go to check out the lady was very nasty. She asked for ID's, I gave her mine and informed her that my niece was 20. She called another lady over asking for another ID check. We told her the same thing. She informed me that that was their policy and since my niece was with me I was not able to buy my items. The items weren't even for me, it was an instacart order by the way. After a little back and forth they allowed me to purchase the items. I feel as if the store policy should be updated and there should be someone at the door to check ID's so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. I love good customer service, seriously I do. Total Wine isn't my go to place because of the sheer size, bit today I had some time and thought why the hell not! I was wandering around and one nice guy asked if he could help and then another and yet another. All with a POV and knowledge. Then I ran into Joel (manager) who complemented my vodka choice and he recommended a great Chardonnay for my wife. Plus have me some history on the chain. He truly seemed to love the place and that obviously rubs off on his staff. In the end, I purchased more than I thought I would, but also learned more. Win win. Or wine wine I guess!! read more

AmEx offered a $20 off $100 deal here, so we stopped by after dropping family at the airport (it's normally out of our way, but not too far from LAX). It was my second visit and my husband's first. We both loved the basket of medical masks at the door, roomy aisles, lots of staff who walked us over to aisles with varietals we wanted to check out, and offered personal suggestions without any hard sell. They even had a tasting table (with one-at-a-time service, plastic shield, etc.) to sample four featured wines for only a penny. We also chatted with the very amiable store manager Matthew, who explained that many of their imported wines come from small vintners who otherwise wouldn't have much distribution in the US. My wine-drinking husband had lots of fun figuring out what to buy, and we picked up some German beer as well as an extra bottle of the delicious creme de cassis for when we run out of the one from my previous visit. I've been here a couple times pre-covid and a couple times since. The selection is pretty good and there are frequent sales. It seems that they have deeper stock on certain items while bevmo does better on others, so I think that your preference of store will depend a lot on your drink preferences. One big difference is the number of staff. Bevo usually has one to two people, and they are too busy to answer questions. While this site I always has loads of staff. Online ordering is easy and fulfillment is relatively fast. The downside is that the shopping plaza is pretty busy, and depending on the time of day, there can be a lot of homeless people and gang members. The last three times I was in this plaza after dark (or the Ralph's one next door), someone was being arrested either for fighting or for carrying a gun. read more

I went online to purchase a $200 gift card and have it sent to the recipient. After a week, I checked and it had not been received. Fast forward, I've now spent an incredible amount of my time calling (four times) and dealing with "customer service" and there hasn't been a resolution. I've been told that it will be delivered by FedEx, "any day now". This purchase was made on July 16th and I am unable to have customer service cancel and refund the $200 on August 18th. A supervisor was supposed to contact me, which hasn't happened, and they're the only ones who are able to issue a refund. What a waste of time!! read more

Could not be any happier that I came into this store today! I was greeted by Peyton and he was very generous and asked if he could help me. I didn't think I needed any help, however, I ended up asking a few questions and before I knew it, I had 6 bottles of wine in my cart (buy 6, 10% off). I opened one of the bottles that he highly recommended - Vennstone Pinot Noir, this afternoon, and I could not be more pleased with how satisfied I am. I come to total wine a few times a month and I always find it to be the best place to purchase alcohol. Their selection is top notch and I could spend hours just looking at what they have. Whenever I go in I always take a walk back to the refrigerated section to see if they have any interesting beer and they normally have a good amount of Russian River. Customer service here is always great. I've had all my questions answered and one time when looking at whiskey one of the salesmen was super informative on the different flavor profiles and what would be good to use them with. My one complaint here is when I've been carded. I get carded all the tine at places and it's usually no big deal. However one time out of the many here, I was asked to pull my mask down to compare my face to my DL, which I found extremely odd and unsafe due to the Covid pandemic. read more

I have been coming to this location for a couple months now have never had a single issue all staff is helpful and attentive. I recently had the worst possible experience EVER at this location with employee Briana and Paul. I went to purchase a bottle here and I was accompanied by my friend unfortunately my friend only had a picture of her ID (keep in mind the previous time we had been to this same location they allowed the picture ID) now this time Ms Briana wanted to give us a really hard time because of the ID stating that it's not valid when she first of all didn't even look at the ID and second of all she's verified our ID's before in store. So we left and I returned moments after alone and was refused service because by Briana and Paul once again because of the picture ID and explain that i understood but now I'm alone with my physical ID and was still not allowed to purchase anything because of my friend who wasn't with me this 2nd time around didn't have her physical ID. Keep in mind that I've been shopping at this store since i was 20yrs old and was never asked for my ID. This is such a ridiculous situation and the worst part is I drove 20mins to another near by store and the employee told me that Picture ID's were VALID as long as they are not expired. I just can't believe how I was treated at this store as some kind of criminal and especially being denied service this place needs to get there employees all on one page! The only reason I'm giving Total Wine 2 stars is because I could never find Blanton's there. It turns out that you have to spend hundreds of dollars to be put in a reserved level and qualify to buy hard to find whiskey or bourbons. In the last two years I was able to find three bottles of Blanton's at a Ralph's and two at BevMo. All without having to spend hundreds just to be put on a list. I am down to three bottles now. There is someone who posted about Brianna's customer service 11 days prior to what happened to me today. She needs to be retrained on how to properly talk to customers without making them feel bad. My friends didn't bring their ID with them but I had mine. I understand we look younger but there is absolutely no reason for her to approach us the way she did. She did not have to confront us in front of a crowd of people and make us look stupid just because they didn't have an ID on them. It's absolutely humiliating and if you bring your family and friends, make sure they have their ids and don't bring your younger friends or family because Brianna will follow you and confront you. Im really upset on this interaction because it has never happened to me before. It should be no one's business who is with me. If this is stores policy, there should be signs in front of the store. (Edit: I do realize now there is signs in front of the store and we did not see them prior to walking in. I apologize). The truth hurts. Total Wine & More is bigger and better than BevMo. They have better selection, more wine, and enough beer to make a stockade around your house. Their average store typically carries about 8000 types of wine, 3000 different spirits, and more than 2500 kinds of beer. Sounds like Disneyland for adults, if you ask me. This Redondo Beach location is pretty intimidating - just the size of the store that is. Aside, from snatching a parking spot on the weekends and finding out what hooch to buy, everything else is pretty damn easy. The associates working the stores are people who actually know and have deep interests in wine. So no more asking that part time associate on what bottle of wine will make you look more attractive after a couple of glasses. I received a mailer that promoted a wonderful "save $20 off a $100 purchase of wines" offer (ANY discount on wines was wonderful in my book!) to Total Wine & More, so I planned an early day of hanging out with a friend who lived in the vacinity of this Redondo Beach location and we decided to split the offer. This was to be our first time ever at this relatively new chain to California, so you bet we were excited! Here was the adventure two "winos" had at this toy store for adults: Wines...and more! ($60.42) - Since I whole-heartedly believed that variety was the spice of life and I'm an explorer by nature, I of course purchased a selection of wines I've never tried before. From a Bordeaux, Chardonnay, Chianti, Merlot, my favorite varietal Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc, I covered the vineyard landscape pretty well (six total bottles for me as well as my friend). With an average bottle price of $10.00 after taxes, this was very comparable to industry standards. At the time of this review, I've only drank the Merlot Double Dog Dare ($3.49), and I had to say that this definitely was a dog of a wine and every bit a $3.49 wine. The prices were standard if not a hair lower than their competitors (i.e. BevMo, Costco, grocery chains, and independent liqour stores). However, from a marketing perspective, whatever price savings they showed, the difference was truly miniscule and almost embarrassing to the point they shouldn't even bother unless it was of substantial value (many cases I saw was a saving of less than a dollar). I would say that it appeared they had a much larger variety than the BevMos I've frequented which could spell trouble for that competitor. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (total paid experience for my share was around $60.00 before discount; no tip required). Total Fail and More I was busy as hell yesterday, watching my two crazy young kids and planning for my wife's 40th birthday party. I wanted to get all my beer in one place at one time. I go to the Total Wine website, see that they have good prices on everything I need, then place and PREPAY an order to pick up. With two young kids in the the car, I figured this would be the fastest and easiest way to shop. I show up and manager slash customer service person wheels out this cart and wants me to sign something. I say, "I think you're missing the Peroni and the Diet Coke. Can you go get them now?" She says, matter-of-factly, "Oh, those items were cancelled." I say, "Not by me." She says "Oh, we're out of stock on those." "Really, that's not what your website said. I pre-PAID for that stuff." I explain to her that the ONLY reason why I came all the way from Palos Verdes was because they were supposed to have everything. I ask the manager slash customer service person to convey to her superiors that that "Real Time Inventory" is a technology that's at least 10 years old. No apology yet, mind you. That only comes begrudgingly after about a minute or so. So while holding my screaming and squirming son with one hand, I sign the receipt for this partial order with my other hand. Then I have the temerity to actually ask for help out to the car. Manager slash customer service person makes some motion to someone else (not herself, god forbid) to assist. Person #2 makes it clear that she's not available either. NOTE: This shit would never happen at a good Vons or Pavilions. After waiting for about a minute, I roll my eyes, grab the cart with one hand and my son with the other and make my way to the car. THEN Person #2 comes flying over to assist. "Sorry, I was on break." At that point, I was beyond my limit and just said, "That's not the customer's fault." Epilogue: Stop by BevMo on the way home. They had Peroni (for more money), but I had to take the kids out of the car and put them back in the car yet AGAIN. Should have just gone to BevMo to begin with. This location gets worse and worse. They don't have what you want and if they say they have it, they don't. Whether it's pick up or delivery, it's a mess. I made an online order today for curbside and they didn't have what I wanted. I changed my order to something they had and now they said "we have it but can't change the order online." Told me I had to come in to purchase the one item. It's freezing and raining and they said, "well we can bring the rest to your car but you have to come in to purchase the one item or cancel it. ". I am IN LOVE with this store! Seriously, it is fantastic. And as Keesy S. said it makes you totally forget about BevMo (Unless of course you are looking at a bottle and thinking to yourself "damn, this costs way more at BevMo!" Total Wine has everythang! Boddingtons for $5.99 (Whaaaa?) and I got a huge-ass bottle of UV Cake Vodka for $15. I am used to paying $15 for the piddly little bottle at Ralphs, but this bad boy blows that out of the water. Tyler got a bottle of the new Crown for $18. Guinness was also very reasonably priced too. On the way out my mum and I picked up a little flask that looks a lot like a water flask but had some vodka in it. $4.99 for us to enjoy a work party next next weekend - hells yeah! I didn't get to look everywhere but I did look at the vodka, gin, and scotch sections. I also took a look at the little moonshine section too. It's of course legal moonshine, so it's something a few Southerners I know would laugh about, but some of it did look really interesting and I'd like to give it a try sometime. There were a lot of things that I was looking at that I was interested in just because the bottles looked cool (haha, hey at least I admit it!) and on the way out we picked up a few little pocket bottles. I finally get to try 99 apples, and give UV Coconut vodka a shot. They had these sick ass little dia de los muertos bottles too, but $10 was a bit much for me. Even though they did look amazing.
