Sparky rude girl at the front tasting bar. Super sarcastic. Hassled me about ID and ver very nasty and very rude. And yet she wasnt worried about the tweakers that came in right behind me. Oh and the Asian lady at the other tasting bar was a trip and acted like what she had cost 100k or something. She didnt want to offer it. It cost $40 something. Are u serious lady? So, I was upset that I ordered champagne to be delivered - Black Girl Magic and it was room temp. I was upset. Why didn't she get a cold one? Well, there wasn't a cold one. Everything is room temp here, so now I know. But the selection of wines, hard spirits, ciders, and so on was overwhelming. But, I had choices and came back with more desire to try more. They also have tastings, which is awesome. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area so I probably won't be back. We have some here and they aren't near me, but if they were to open up closer to me, I'd come here. I actually like them better than BevMo and that says a lot. read more

Prices are not discounted, and glassware is also available for purchase for gifts. They will charge a few pennies for a plastic bag, which didn't bother me. Do not place a delivery order, it seems they cancel and you'll wait patiently through your delivery window for a delivery that won't arrive. I called the electronic system over an hour after my delivery window closed, and it indicated my delivery was still scheduled between 1 and 2. I thought that was strange, since it was after 3 pm, so I called the customer service number, only to be told my order had been canceled, and would I like it rescheduled or refunded. Since no one seemed to know how to email or call to let me know they chose to cancel my order, I asked for a refund and will order from Bevmo instead. It's a shame, I liked shopping there and had done so for years. read more

For Tacoma, Total Wine and More is pretty great! There are other liquor stores of larger size in town but they seem limited in selection compared to this place and getting to some of them isn't very easy with oddball turns and small parking lots it gets very frustrating. This is in a newly developed section right by the mall so parking is considerably easier though it too can get congested too over by Ulta. And the newness is nice. It's fresh and clean and doesn't look like it's going through it's worst days for several years. There is ample wine as the store suggests in it's name but my favorite part with this store is going to the craft beer selection and seeing which breweries I haven't tried a beer from yet. It takes a little bit of looking but to me that's what makes it fun. Most of the breweries are relatively local and out of Washington state but you will find Oregon and California breweries that have products here as well. I did an impulse buy at the register and bought some bourbon gummy bears which I really liked. They were non alcoholic and I couldn't stop with just one when it came to a single seating with them. There are champagne gummy bears too I'd like to try. So things like that are throughout the store too and that's always fun to see what fun little items you can get on your way out. read more

Newly opened next to Krispy Kreme donuts at the Tacoma mall. The store is huge, plenty of wine/beer/liquor selections and there's lots of staff who continued to offer assistance. There's even a sample bar in the middle of the store that offered small samples of vodka and other spirits (we came on a Saturday). I see a representative replied and attempted to state this is policy. It is indeed not. The policy is to ID at the register. Not upon entry. I called the store and went over the policy with the supervisor and after I clarified with her that it is not in the policy to ID at the door, she then proceeded to tell me that it was up to the security guard "to his discretion". I've been in enough liquor stores to know that you do not get ID'd at the door or just because you have a child. This is not a lounge nor a club and for a manger or store owner to sit and try to justify it in the policy when it's not in the policy. That's sad. I would even be willing to compromise on thoughts if my son was a teenager but he's not, he's a child. 8. And I was ID'd at entry of a STORE! Red flag. Big big Red flag. ------------------------- Walked in with my son and the security asked for my ID. I immediately left. Never had that done and I've been to many of these stores. So I video called my wife and sent pics of certain bottles to neighbors to make sure I was getting the right things..... Then I was approached buy a large short hair blonde worker that asked why was I taking pics and pulling our my phone...."was I casing the place?" ... I went tot total wine in Tacoma over the weekend with two of my friends all of us having a good time, i realized while walking through the store my ID was not on me so I left before the went up to the register and was waiting in the car, my friends came out and said they got denied because I was not there to show my ID, I was not making a purchase therefore I should not have had anything to do with there transaction especially considering I had already left the store. later that night we come back and the front desk manger imidiatly and rudely says i hope you all 3 have IDS this time, my friends don't even acknowledged that she's speaking to us but I do, and I say that I do but it never should have mattered cause I'm obviously over 21 and so are all of my friends, and I wasn even in the store when my 2 friends with ID where trying to make the transaction, she was rude and kept raising her voice at me and then she kicked us all out one by one chasing my friends through the store and Harassing them. The late night manager is on a power trip and if you want to make sales you should probably look into replacing her, BevMo is right across the street and has never given me a problem, they are even open on New Year's Eve. All in all this has been an eye opening experience and I'm not sure I will be comfortable coming back. Edited after total wine's response. I understand your policy for groups, I was not in the store during the first transaction that my friends were denied. And the second time we were asked to leave before we were even able to start a transaction, your manager gunned towards us the second we walked through the door and kicked us out before we could even make a selection without even trying to look at our IDs because I forgot mine earlier in the day. Just went into Total Wine this morning and was greeted by empty shelves. As in the entire Canadian Blend Whiskey section had been dismantled as in they've removed every single bottle. When I asked what was up I was told that Total Wine will not be carrying the cheaper alcohols as well as Canadian blends anymore and that they will be focusing on the more premium alcohols. Really? You think the people of Tacoma can afford the premium stuff? You seem to have us confused with Seattle because we can't afford premium only cheap if you get rid of that then say goodbye to a major number of customers. I hope this isn't true but if it is then you just went from being the best priced store in town being to just like everybody else and seeing you at the mall nobody's going to out of their way to shop there seeing they can get the same thing for the same price as everywhere else. read more

Attended this location for the first time today. As opposed to other Total Wine & More locations I have been to in the region, I Immediately was asked for my ID which was a bit startling as I felt like I entered a club with a bouncer. As I looked around to other young customers who walked in without being asked for their ID's, I made a comment that I've never had to show my ID at an entrance of a Total Wine & More before. The worker said, " we have to ask for ID's for people who look 30. Underage have been coming in for samples". My reply was, "why didn't you ask for ID's for the young couple that just walked past?" The worker replied, "I can't get everyone". That was a wrong answer in my book. You don't implement systems that are not equitable for all patrons that fit your specification. At that point I asked to speak with a manager. How to pick and choose who is 30 is subjective. How do you gauge this with masks? This regulation felt like it borderlines discriminatory practices. The signs above their register say that they 'ID when you pay' which is when I would assume I would be asked for my ID. If under age are sampling alcohol then perhaps move the sampling section to another part in the store where you can ask folks for IDs who are interested in sampling but not selectively as they walk right into the store. You may be wondering what my race is and those who looked younger than me well, you can probably figure that out. They were white and my friend and I were not. Furthermore, I will continue to shop at the other locations and notify friends and family of their practices until they make some necessary changes that will allow all 21+ patrons feel welcomed. read more

What a great place for all your alcohol and typical alcohol accessory needs! On top of the wine, they have an excellent selection of beer and liquor. The staff were friendly and helpful; readily able to answer questions and make suggestions. They also have soda, mixers, garnishes, and snacks that were all reasonably priced!
