After reading their excellent reviews, I decided to give them a call--and I am so glad I did. Everyone who came out to our house was incredible, friendly, and deeply professional. They made an incredibly stressful situation completely painless, and they treated our home as if it were their own. One important tip for future customers: This company focuses strictly on remediation, meaning they do not handle the reconstruction or repairs (like replacing drywall) once the mold is gone. This wasn't an issue for me--I simply called around and found a local contractor to patch things up afterward--but it's important to go in with the right expectations and always ask questions! The team members we worked with deserve individual recognition: Brandan came out first to rule out any active plumbing leaks. Once he confirmed the mold wasn't plumbing-related, he kindly offered to inspect the rest of our new home's plumbing. He caught a few minor issues, explained his recommendations clearly, and provided no-pressure quotes. We are so relieved to finally have a trustworthy plumber on speed dial! He then immediately looped in their mold specialist, Ruben. Ruben arrived the very same day to assess the mold and provide a fair quote. He was incredibly sympathetic to our situation and reassured us that he would remove as little material as possible while keeping the home safe and thorough. We immediately knew we were in good hands. A few days later, Ruben and Ivan completed the work. They were punctual, efficient, and surprisingly quiet. Not only did they finish on time, but they also managed to save an entire wall and our builder shelves. Because they saved the wall, Ruben actually adjusted our final invoice down to reflect the lower material removal--a massive financial relief for first-time homebuyers. Ruben took extensive photos, walked me through the containment zone to explain their findings, and even returned the next day to walk my husband through the exact same breakdown so we were both fully informed. The final report they provided was incredibly thorough, detailing every single step with photographic evidence. My husband can be very picky about contracted work, and even he was completely impressed and had zero critiques. We were so incredibly stressed, and the calm presence and expertise this team brought into our home was invaluable. In our case, we had over $500,000 in fire and water damage, and it seemed like everyone else was more concerned about their profit margins than helping us. Some even tried to play games with the insurance company by requesting payment for items that weren't warranted. ASAP Restoration was completely different. They were honest, upfront, and transparent from day one. They took the time to review every budget, selection, and step of the process with us, making sure we understood everything along the way. Before the plumber even arrived, three different restoration companies showed up at my door. The strange part? I never called any of them and nobody told me anyone was coming out. I did overhear one of the technicians I allowed in for a "free evaluation" on speakerphone with the plumber asking if a $2,000 finder's fee sounded reasonable. I kept my mouth shut but it definitely raised some red flags. I listened to all three companies separately and then decided to do some serious research online. While some companies have plenty of glowing Google reviews, once you start looking at other sources like Yelp, the Arizona ROC, and the BBB, the picture can look very different. Consider this a friendly warning to homeowners: do your homework. After digging deeper, I was fortunate to find ASAP Restoration. One thing that immediately stood out is that they do not work referral deals with plumbers, do not pay kickbacks, and do not play games with deductibles. They simply focus on doing the job correctly. The team was extremely professional. The mitigation/demo crew handled the water damage quickly and thoroughly, and the reconstruction team has been excellent. We're now about 90% finished with the rebuild and everything is coming together great. I just felt the need to share my experience before heading out for spring break. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, take a breath, do your research, and call a company that focuses on integrity and quality work. For me, that company was ASAP Restoration.

I was never given a clear estimate or realistic pricing before the work started. The final invoice ended up being far higher than expected for the scope of work performed. Although a discount was eventually offered, the negotiation process involved repeated pressure regarding collection and leg action, including a 20-day preliminary notice. I ultimately paid the balance to resolve the matter, but I strongly recommend that customers carefully review all documents and request detailed written pricing expectations before authorizing mitigation work. Emergency restoration billing can become very expensive very quickly.

They did not communicate with me about the cost. I am glad that my insurance covered it (Progressive), but the lack of communication has caused so much frustration. These charges are insane. AHS sent out iPlum for my water leak service. iPlum sent sub contractor Enviro clean to take out my…read morewalls and install dryers. Then I declined the iPlum estimate because it was inflated. They then contacted AHS and told them that they didn't cut the holes in the walls so it would not be covered by AHS. I had to pay out of pocket $2000. DO NOT USE both of these companies and make sure only the contracto that AHS sends out does all the work. No subcontractor. Beware of this scam

This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. We had a leak coming in from our laundry room and it took…read moreus about a week to see if this was an insurance or home warranty issue, but when we found out this would be an insurance claim we contacted my ex husband who referred Alex with Slate. We called him on March 15th, he came out on the 17th and let us know the steps and process of what to do. He said to call our insurance (State Farm), assured us that they do a lot of work together and to make a claim. He said to tell State Farm we are working with a restoration company (Slate) and to start the claim. Alex did not give us a quote at this time but wanted us to process the claim in which we did. When that was done he started planning on his equipment arriving and getting the job started. Since she had told us that State Farm is a tricker insurance where he has seen claims like this get approved but also has seen claims like this get denied, we were VERY hesitant to start work and voiced our concern. We also told him we do not feel comfortable starting this process without the approval many times but he assured us by saying "Don't worry, I wouldn't accept this job if I thought it'd be denied" "It's okay, that we don't have the approval because if we don't, it's my job to get the approval because that is how we get paid." Our trust in him got our better judgment and we signed the papers to start work without getting a number estimate but again we have voiced that we want to stop at the threshold of our insurance deductible at $2500 because without approval we did not want to come out of pocket that much. We made it very clear financially we will not be able to go above that as well as move forward without being approved by insurance. Again, he was reassuring us that there is no way that this could be denied. (Texts messages attached of us asking for estimates and saying we need to stay with our deductible threshold) When the crew came on the 20th and started to pack up we had a conversation with the team because they were telling us how they would have to put plastic tarps up, cut out the cabinets (in the areas where the leak was not at.) I could only say "okay" cause I do not know what is right and wrong, what is wet and needs to be dried, I can only trust the company we hired. But when Thomas heard all of this, once again he questioned "why do you need to pull out all these cabinets? The leak is now there? What do you need to cut out the drywall that far? Why do you need to hang up tarps? That will be an additional cost." Which again, at this time Alex and his crew mentioned that they needed to test for asbestos, that they testing would be to our cost. I said, "okay but if it is hot for asbestos, would that make this claim more expensive? Because again, we have not gotten approval and if what is done so far is MORE than $2500 if it is hot for asbestos how much would that add on?" Alex said, "If it's hot for asbestos that will probably be an addition $1500" I then reminded and asked him again, "Okay Alex, remember we do not want to go over our $2500 if we are not approved yet. What are we at right now, cause if we are hot for asbestos and that adds $1500 we are already really close to our deductible. Shouldn't we stop until we get approved so Thomas will not be upset with the total?" Once again, "no, no Michele I am confident we can get this covered" Well, they ended up gutting our kitchen, ripping out the cabinets and ruining them that we can not put them back together, they told us no matter what they would do everything in the least invasive way possible because they needed to take pictures for the insurance company but again with the confidence that they would get this covered explained to us,"it's okay if they are damaged because if the insurance can not find a comparable match to what you have they will need to replace not only the cabinets pulled out but replace the entire kitchen." The shelf needed some custom trim work done to match the wood stain and overall design. I asked for a "built in" look for the bookshelf given its large size, so it feels like a main feature in the room. From start to finish, Eric exceeded my expectations for the project. He was a pleasure to work with, very responsive to my requests, and fairly priced for the work he did. The fact that he has a design background in addition to carpentry skills set him apart from other woodworkers and "handymen" in the area. (I hate to even throw that handyman term out in relation to Eric because he is truly an artist!!!) The bookshelf repair and custom trim project took a couple of weeks total to complete as he squeezed me into his schedule between larger jobs, but the work turned out perfectly and was totally worth the wait! Sorry if long but worth the read- I have a old house and our pipes were backing up and flooding our bathrooms, twice in 4 months. First time it happened we had a different guy out who just snaked our lines and left. When it happens again, we had a guy from king plumbing out first who said he wouldn't get on the roof to snake pipes (as last guy had to) and when asked about doing a camera inspection it would be $280. GMR came the same day we called and it was even later then usual and I explained what happened before and what was going on currently. Not only did they snake my pipes to get them clear, they also did a camera inspection for no additional charge. They also showed me on the camera exactly where and what was going on with my pipes. So I could actually see myself what they were seeing. They physically marked (with my permission of course) anywhere in the pipe where there was an issue that would need to be addressed. I know in today's world it's easy to get scammed or raked over financially for things like this. But GMR was professional, reliable with same day service, mindful of our problems, and wanted to genuinely help us for long term solution instead of just coming and putting a bandaid and moving on. I highly recommended their service to anyone! read more

We needed a new water heater as our old 80gal gas heater started leaking. I received a recommendation for Plumbing Express from one of our home builder. Rob came out and gave us a quote on a new Tankless water heater capable of meeting our whole hose demand. While much more expensive than an old fashioned tank version, the tankless does not continually re-heat the water in the tank and can keep up with our highest water demand without running out. In addition, when I asked for a manufacturer that Plumbing Express doesn't normally install, they accommodated without complaint. This took a couple of days due to equipment availability, but as Rob left, he told me to get additional quotes because he was confident in their capability and pricing. We did get 2 additional quotes and Rob was right! Their pricing was very competitive and his install was flawless. The only minor issue we had was connected the unit to wifi, but this was a bug with the hardware that was solved by calling manufacturer customer support! I would recommend Plumbing Express to anyone needing plumbing work. read more

Thought this posted when I did it on my phone - apparently not! Sorry Jerry! I wanted to let anyone know that needs plumbing work that this is your guy!!! I used a big, family owned plumbing company (if you're searching, you'll find my review, I'm sure, so I'm not going to mention their name) in September to clear a main sewer line and after 2 times coming out within 4 days I thought it was clear, only to have it back up again 2 months later for the same thing!!! Not willing to trust the job to the original company a 3rd time, I contacted Jerry based on the reviews and I'm so happy I did! He came out on a Sunday - his only day off - and took care of my issue quickly and at half the cost than the other company! He's plugged into my phone and I have a refrigerator magnet now so I don't forget who did such an awesome job last time! read more

Wow talk about express Josh and Austin were super express with 11 stars if I could give it. I had a different plumber come 3 weeks ago with no success and no work done. I was told my the other plumber the work would not be done for approximately another month. I already was waiting on them for 3 weeks. Yet, Josh and Austin received my call this later in the morning and all my toilet and tub plumbing issues were fixed. Hey are proficient, professional and listen to your plumbing needs. When they first came I had little hope and figured it would take weeks so wow everything done the same day. Words cannot express how grateful I am for Josh and Austin. GMR was awesome. I can't remember his name but he's the owner of GMR Plumbing and he was one of the most respectful and helpful contractors I've ever dealt with. He came and did his job well, quick, and with a courteous attitude. That's not all, though. I needed an outside waterline spigot, that was previously and stupidly soldered on, to be replaced. When I called they said they would be there by noon. However, the plumber was not there at noon. In fact, he got to my house around 3:00 PM. Which was TOTALLY fine! He still showed up the SAME DAY I called. When else does a plumber do that? Never, that's when. I am not bothered by the fact they showed up a few hours later then they said because of the quality of the service and the same-day service. GREAT JOB GMR Plumbing!!! read more

Jerry and Austin at GMR saved the day for me. My son and his family had just arrived from Japan for a 3 week visit when the bathtub/shower faucet broke and would not turn off. We had turn the water off to the house, which is not fun at anytime, but worse with 2 little girls needing to be cleaned up frequently. Austin had to go through the back wall and change the valve and then put on a new faucet. Total time from the time I first called till the job was done was 3 1/2 hours. That is exceptional! all that at a VERY reasonable price. I couldn't be happier. It's always great to find a company you can trust, whether it be plumber, electrician or mechanic. We have been suffering through kitchen sink drain issues for months. We are pretty handy so had been snaking the drain ourselves and pretty much stopped using the garbage disposal. It recently became frustrating enough that my husband was willing to call a plumber. We feel so lucky to have found Plumbing Express. Robert and Austin were friendly and knowledgeable and most of all very skilled at their jobs. Long story short, drain cleared COMPLETELY, pipes inspected, and structural problem noted for a very reasonable price. I live in a rental unit and I was having issues with my water heater. Element and and thermostat needed to be replaced. Long story short there was a miscommunication on somebody's part and the thermostat didn't get replaced and I had no hot water for the night and majority of the day. I had to call back and for between my leasing office and Plumbing Express but fortunately their wonderful manager Robert reached out to me and very thoroughly apologized and sent out Jose who was great and completely took apart my water heater and fixed it. Fantastic service! I called on a Sunday and had help by Monday afternoon. I have used GMR Plumbing on three different occasions and have already recommended them for another person to use. That person was also very happy with their price and service. They repaired my broken faucets and replaced a drain sink with ease. They cleaned up after themselves as well. They also snaked our sewer pipe with ease, even getting onto the roof to complete this job. Others had told us that they wouldn't get on the roof to complete this job. Just moved into an older home. Washing machine valves were corroded and leaking. Thought we could handle the job ourselves, but quickly realized we would be in over our heads if we even tried. Found GMR on Yelp. They arrived within two hours of our call and we had our washer and dryer running two hours later. Would have been sooner, if our water main valve wasn't also corroded and needing to be replaced. Loved observing Jerry with his apprentice - patiently showing him the ropes and tricks of the trade. I have hired Jerry for many different jobs from installing a backyard sprinkler system to rerouting a gas line in my attic to fixing a leaking water heater at my rental property (among other jobs.) We're very pleased with our experience with GMR Plumbing. Jerry came to our rental the very same day I called at a time that was convenient for our tenant. He replaced one toilet that was cracked and called me to let me know that he would be able to repair the second toilet that was leaking. He sent me photos of the problem, which I appreciated, since I wasn't on site. Jerry was polite and professional and did a good job. Our tenant is happy! GMR plumbing is the best! We had called another plumber we found on Yelp to install a new sink but ran into issues with the install and no longer had a kitchen sink! With a party at the house in three days and no sink we called GMR. The owner, Gerry, said he would send out someone to take a look and in less than an hour Robert was at our home to inspect what needed to be done. My experience with GMR was a great one. I contacted Jerry for a broken shower spout Memorial Day evening and after providing him with pictures of the issue, he emailed me a very reasonable quote & we set up an appointment time for the next day. Jerry honored his labor warranty on work he had done for me a year and a half ago. (He replaced water line from meter to house, worked with me on cost and timeline, was great to work with!!) A leak developed at the connection to the meter. Though he no longer works valleywide (lucky you in the Mesa area!), he made the drive to the northwest valley and replaced a cracked brass fitting (!) within 24 hours of my call and at no charge to me. My room mate dropped her pedometer down the toilet. She tried plunging but it didn't help so the toilet kept overflowing. I found plumbing express had good reviews so I called. They came out the next day and had to completely remove the toilet to get the pedometer out since it was stuck so securely. Jerry is the real deal. He is very friendly, and most importantly, honest! He doesn't scam or upsell and only does what is needed. He truly is a pro. He charges by the hour, rather than an exaggerated flat rate, which actually seems to be more fair than other plumbers. He lives close by (Mesa) and he has always stuck to his time lines. For anyone who's owned or lived in a home, you know that plumbing troubles are surely to sprout up here and there. West Plumbing has helped us navigate through both basic and complex issues. From something as simple as reconnecting a toilet handle to addressing a leaking upstairs pipe. They're great at diagnosing and explaining the problem, followed by fixing it and offering creative preventative ideas for the future. One time, our shower handle broke off mid-stream and the water wouldn't turn off. It was late at night, so I had to turn the water off to the whole house. We asked a good handyman friend to come by that night, but together couldn't figure out how to pull out the handle mechanism. So, we called West. They came out the next day and fixed it in less than 30 minutes. Voilá! Often for home repair, we'll work directly with our Home Warranty. The downside there is that you're at the mercy of whoever is contracted with that service, and the quality of the workmanship is inconsistent. While it can be cheaper to go through a warranty, or shop around on price, you run the risk of a poor job, or requiring several visits and second opinions. I trust the opinion of the West Plumbing team every time!
