This preschool is not your ordinary preschool. They focus on academics and really prepare your child with skills for life. Our son has only been going there for 5 months and already can write his name with the pincer grip, knows all his letters (upper and lower case), knows his numbers, is starting to read and is so much more behaved. This school does everything in their power to get the kids ready for Kinder. Our teacher is Ms. Laura and we highly recommend her for the 4 year old room. She goes out of her way to let us know how our son is doing and tailors her teaching to each child's needs. This place really loves children and everyone thy works there seems to genuinely care about each kid that goes there. Instead of having a conversation with us that our son was having some issues, we found out that he was spending most of his time out of class at the front office when they sat us down to "dismiss" him from the school. Our boys have been going here for the last couple of years. Have loved all the teachers and staff the entire time. Not thinking they could impress us more, but then 2020 happened and they have gone above and beyond. They understand the concern of safety during this pandemic, but also have kept the needs our children as their top concern. They have found the balance between safety and teaching young children. They have even given a distance learning option which had allowed us to find the perfect balance during this time. Our son attended Totspot august of 2016 till graduation 2017. After my husband and i searched for preschools for our (at the time 4 yr old) now 5 year old. We must have called about 30 preschools from the east valley all the way to phoenix! When i found Totspot i know i called about 3 times for every new question or concern. Im a full time stay at home mom, so letting my son go for the very first time was hard but he was fully ready. We all went to the meet the teachers before school and they were so welcoming and answered all of our questions. It made us feel more at ease as the first day was right around the corner. As we had dropped him off on the Very first day, we walked him in and he says "Ok, bye" and waves goodbye. So we gave him a quick hug and kiss and off he went. We had a harder time than he did. But we stayed strong for him. That just goes to show you thats how comfortable and welcomed he felt. He went in barely recognizing his numbers and letters and after just 1 month, he came out writing his name, recognizing and writing letters and numbers. I was Amazed! And he enjoyed going there Every MWF! And we were so happy as parents he enjoyed going and that we were now completely comfortable dropping him off. They did an end of the year assessment and he is completely ready for kindergarten as he attended the PreK class. His knowledge, skills and reading ability has only grew with attending Totspot! The staff are so Amazing and im So thankful for Totspot and all they have done for my son! I wouldnt choose anywhere else. My daughter has gone to To Spot preschool here for three years now. She has loved every teacher she has had from the time she was two to the time she is in pre-K this year. Great preschool, the staff is very professional yet personable. They are very serious about their curriculum, even for the 2 year old class. They are definitely not a day care, they try really hard to teach the little tots the alphabet and numbers. They also have sports, dance and music classes available for extra. read more

This is my favorite preschool yet! I haven't even enrolled my son but I could tell from the beginning to the end of the campus tour that the staff/teachers really care about their students, and the parents by the communication they keep concerning class activity! The security was also well considered in the layout of this school as there are two doors you have to enter prior to reaching the classrooms, one door in which you need a special key card to get in! Awesome feature!!! I fell in love with the structure and curriculum provided! I love that the student to teacher ratio is small enough for each child to get the proper help that they need in learning! The classrooms are very well sized, they include bathrooms in the classroom, which made me feel at ease that my 3 year old could just go straight to the bathroom while still being in site! They also had an adorable class pet--which I feel is important in a child learning the ability to nurture as well as responsibility + it's fun!! My son was so excited and his eyes lit up, he actually had a meltdown when I told him it was time to go home, he didn't want to leave! Unfortunately the classes fill up quickly and I couldn't enroll my son because the morning slots were filled and it works better with my schedule, however, I will look into them next year when my youngest child needs a preschool! read more

We were very excited about enrolling our child in this preschool. The curriculum is really good but some of the teachers need improvement. Our teacher seemed to have difficulty with class room management and child behavior. Our child had been to several preschools prior to this one and had done well. After being at TotSpot for several months we noticed our child was showing signs of anxiety, the teacher seemed to react emotionally to behavior problems he and other children had. The rewards and behavior system that was in place at the beginning of the school year started to be used inconsistently. I'm not sure why this teacher seemed unable to handle normal preschool behavior but we were very disappointed. I would not recommend this preschool. read more

When I was looking for a preschool for my son I only visited two before I decided. The first one really lacked as it seemed like all the kids did was packets. When I visited Totspot I knew right away it was different in a good way. They are so well rounded in all areas of the curriculum and do so many fun things with the kids to help them learn. I really like the small class sizes as well. The teachers and staff are all so kind and great at what they do. My son had a very hard time adjusting to being away from home and they were so patient with him and made him feel comfortable. He loves going to school here. We had a tour of this preschool last Friday and it looked and felt like a wonderful place. There were two teachers per classroom with impressive and relevant educational backgrounds. The children in the classes seemed to be very happy and the rooms were very well organized. A great sign to my husband and I was when several children came up and hugged the woman giving us the tour. As a family, this is our second year at TotSpot. I drive quite a bit in order for my kids to attend their PreK and 2/3 year old classes but it is 100% worth it. As a former teacher with incredibly high expectations of the educational environments I put my kids in, I am thoroughly impressed with the overall "learning culture" TotSpot provides. My oldest attended a different preschool when she was 2 and while that program had a great reputation, the experience we have had at TotSpot has been beyond what the other program could provide for us. The educational backgrounds of the educators here are impressive. My guess is they are paid more than other preschools so they attract the best. The amount I pay is about what I paid at the other preschool. They seem to appreciate each kids' emotional/mental needs as well academic levels. Beth and Kristen, in the front, are genuinely friendly. I haven't talked to the owner, Shannon, much on a one to one basis but she is often present and available if needed. The teachers communicate thoroughly each week about what is going on in their classrooms and some send pictures of what the kids have been doing/learning. I love that! We love TotSpot Preschool! I really appreciate the smaller class size with two highly trained and qualified teachers in the room! The teachers are gold! They work so hard to provide a quality education and nurturing, fun environment for all the children. My son was very shy when he started his first day and I was worried about how he would respond being away from me for the first time and being with other little kids he was not familiar with. Needless to say, the day went great! He loved school and made lots of new friends! He goes three days a week and begs me everyday to go to school! I love asking him what he's learned each day after school and hearing his excitement about all the neat things he did that day! After researching and touring many preschools in the valley, I decided to place my child in Totspot. I went based on the reviews and cleanliness of the facility when touring. When I initially signed my child up for the school there were 'waiting lists' for every class so I placed them on every one hoping to get into a class soon. I thought it was a good sign that there were waiting lists to get in. The next week I got a call from the secretary letting me know that there was an opening and my child could have it. At first, I was excited that we got into the school because the reviews were so great but they were 2 years ago so I felt like I needed to put a recent review to let people know that this place is not what it is made out to be. It is overpriced and incompassionate. My childs teacher was new and very unwelcoming to me and my child whevever I took them to class. I would ask her questions pertaining to class and she would tell me she would get back to me when I picked my child up from school and would avoid eye contact with me when returning. I thought it was because she was new that maybe she was just shy but my daughter would walk into class and not be greeted as children should be by their teacher. I felt uncomfortable and I could feel the uncomfortableness from my child when dropping them off at school so only after 3 weeks of being enrolled I spoke with the director and was told that the teacher is shy and everyone else thinks she is great. I felt as if she didn't care about my child because I had an issue, I don't care what other people thought! I was so uncomfortable that I decided to pull my child out immediately. Since I had pain a last months tuition I felt it was unfair for them to keep it considering I had only been enrolled for 3 weeks and my issue was with the comfort I felt. I am not going to continue sending my child somewhere that is not enlightening and welcoming for them!! They would not give me my last months tuition back which was alot of money and stated that they would if my childs spot was filled. Funny thing was that now there were no waiting lists and they couldnt fill the spot. I found out that I wasnt the only parent that disenrolled my child after only 3 weeks!! This place is not what I expected and I was not happy at all!! I would not recommend it for the money you have to pay. My child now attends another preschool in the valley and it is a million percent better, less money, and they learned more in 3 days there than their 3 weeks at Totspot. We, unfortunately, did not have the same great experience as some of the other reviews. My 3.5 year old son has a speech delay and some behavioral issues that go along with it. After our first week there I had a sit down with the director, his teacher, and a behavioral specialist that works with the school. We discussed strategies on the best way to all get on the same page and find the best techniques to get him on the right track. The director raved about how all but two teachers there had degrees in early childhood education and they have the lowest ratios of teachers to students in the area. She assured me that they understand that every child is different and learns differently but that we would all find what worked best for my son and implement it at school as well as at home. I left this meeting feeling great about my son's prospects at this school. Three weeks later, right before spring break his teacher informed me that they had placed him in the older class for the day and he had done much better. One of the office ladies told me she was going to speak with the director about possibly moving him up to the older class. We went on spring break and then out of the blue I received an email from the director stating that she didn't think the school was a good fit for my son and that they were going to terminate his enrollment. I was shocked. First of all, that should have been a face to face conversation. Secondly, they had only been working with him for THREE and a half weeks. I would have thought a school that boasted about their degrees would have given a toddler more than three weeks to see if their strategies were working. When I began looking for preschools I had been warned to watch out for the ones that only want the kids that perfectly fit their mold. Otherwise, you will be let go quickly and just replaced by another child who fits in better. Unfortunately, Totspot seems to be this kind of school. If you have a child that may have learning/behavioral issues of any kind I would steer clear unless you like the humiliation of being kicked out of a preschool. read more
