It's a great spot for your classic gym work-out's, but also as a change in pace for those who work from home (there's a separate work space where you can also rent out private room). Noise level is typically lively. Parking in the main lot is difficult especially after work or at noon (during weekday's) and is generally packed during the weekend - of note, there's an alternative parking lot to the side of the main lot for Bay Club-specific parking (approximately 5min walk). SERVICE Service was friendly, overall, as you're typically greeted by those at the front desk, which is lovely. I'd say there is room for improvement for my tour/meeting with the membership director when I first looked at Bay Club Courtside, as it felt that my question's were more of annoyances and that he wanted the meeting to be over with sooner than later. STANDOUT DETAIL What stood out most to me was the overall atmosphere and vibe - it feels like I'm going on vacation to a resort everytime I enter (rather than a gym). I've never paid a monthly fee for a gym until now, and I'll say it's absolutely worth it! Overall, I'd highly recommend Bay Club Courtside!

Our event was for approximately 100 people which included players and spectators. For some of the people, it was their first time playing pickleball and for others it was there first time playing at the Hub. All of the details were taken care of, even some that we did not even consider. I personally just buy the day passes here and come during the weekend every so often, and stay all day (since they have in n out privileges) to make my pass worth it. I remember the good old days when day passes were just $25, but now it is $40! A bit too much for me, if you are looking for a free court with good opponents, you can play at Mitchell park in Palo Alto. Also, during rainy days is very busy so be mindful of that if you are coming because you can't play outside for free, because everyone else has the same idea! The club was the perfect venue for this holiday boutique. The facilities comfortably held the 13 vendors, and it was bright and clean. If something needs to be fixed, it's taken care of quickly. The gym has everything you need: machines, a few squat racks, free weights, a Smith machine, and a decent-sized cardio area with a good variety of equipment. The only thing I wish they had is a chest fly machine. There are classes going on all the time, and there's a turf area where your child can play while you work out. The turf has outdoor toys, ride-on vehicles, and large Legos, which is a great setup. We use the kids club for our daughter, and she loves it and always has fun. Childcare was the main reason we chose this gym since no other gyms in Cupertino offer it, and it ended up being an amazing decision. Our daughter also does swim lessons here. Brian is very patient and makes her feel comfortable in the water. She has learned how to float, hold her breath underwater, and is beginning to swim. She used to hate swimming, and now she looks forward to going every week.

I've never tried it myself, but that is a unique perk only this YMCA has. Chess club meets on Sunday mornings. I had to stop going last year, but when I went it was a ton of fun and open to everyone. Negatives: The men's locker room floor is almost always wet from kids not properly drying off after swimming. It's pretty annoying for gym goers because we are wearing socks that can get wet; that just ruins our day. Weight room has no ventilation and the fan is broken; it can get stuffy in there. Parking lot has shade from like one tiny tree in the very back. If you don't get that spot, your car is going to be under the sun during your entire workout. Overall, I do love this YMCA. I love seeing families and people of all ages, ethnicities, and cultures enjoying their time off work or school. There's always a good vibe here.

I do feel like this is a step up (although it's also a lot more expensive), but I do feel like there are opportunities for improvement here. On some days, parking can be difficult to find, especially during rush hour time. Some areas of the gym look older than others and the overall layout is strange to me. There's multiple, sectioned off areas with different workout machines, so depending on what you decide to work out on, you migrate to that specific room. I personally like a more open layout floor plan, but the building isn't designed that way. I feel like some guests don't pick up after themselves and often find the men's steam room trashed. Lockers are big and for the most part pretty clean. I feel like more regular sweeping, cleaning, and wiping down of surfaces would be nice. Showers are nice and there is complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. In the restrooms you can find everything you need to shave, Q-tips, hair dryers, lotion, etc. The towel service is definitely nice and convenient. Complimentary coffee and tea before 11am is also a bonus. The recovery room is one of my favorite areas. It's nice for a post workout hydro massage. Equipment is usually in good condition. Overall, I enjoy my membership and try to make the most out of it. Honestly, if Equinox was closer to where I lived I would probably pay the premium to go there, but Bay Club is closer to where I live so it will do for now.
