The kids loved the gym time and could have done 10-20 min more easily, but with kids still having food in their plates and not quite done eating we were told it was time to go and "you'll get your goodie bags ON THE WAY OUT" lol I get it. We paid for 1.5hrs and we got 1.5hrs. It just felt so abrupt, and they said there was another party coming but there wasn't. If the coaches had said it's another $ for every 15 minutes, I would have gladly paid it, but alas it was not an option. We went elsewhere to wrap up the party. Positives: The coaches were nice, engaging and helpful. The kids enjoyed themselves. Negatives: The lack of alternative options on timing. Overall, I would still recommend a birthday party here, but be cognizant of the time!

At the beginning of the season, many of the girls were around the same skill level, but throughout the season you could really see how much they all improved. As they learned how each other played and built trust as teammates, their confidence on the court grew so much. It was really rewarding as a parent to watch them develop both individually and together as a team. As far as coaching, Smash Koala has a great group of coaches which gives players the opportunity to experience different teaching styles and perspectives. The coaches were encouraging, positive, and genuinely cared about their players and their growth. They created a fun and supportive atmosphere while still challenging the girls to work hard and improve. What really impressed me about SK is how they truly live by what "KOALA" stands for within their club. As a parent, you can see their values of kindness, opportunity, ambition, leadership and authenticity, reflected in the way the coaches work with players and how supportive everyone, including parents, is toward one another. One of the best parts of the club was how family-oriented and welcoming it felt. Anyway, Silicon Valley Eagles club has been a great place for both my 2 sons in U8 and U10 teams in learning how to play real good soccer in a competitive and safe environment. My children just love being part of the club. Thank you so much coach Ayadi, coach Abdu and coach Rob for all you have done with my sons. My 2 sons have also made friendships with kids that they wouldn't have otherwise even met. My sons started off shy, I don't know what coaches said or did but now they love it and smile whenever they are in the practice. My boys have gained incredible soccer skills but beyond that they learn great life lessons like how to overcome adversity, work hard, self confidence and respect others. They feel they are a part of a large family of coaches and players who support and care for them. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Eagles.

When Mandala started in 2022 and noted that they would have Coach Jeff Alzina as part of their coaching staff, we were thrilled. My daughters have both worked with Coach Alzina and find him to be an amazing coach and extremely inspirational. All the coaches at Mandala are phenomenal and really understand the fundamentals of beach volleyball and have lots of experience with the sport. My daughters have learned a lot from Coach Alzina and all the Mandala coaches. The coaches will also coach you at beach tournaments, giving you great advice during the tournaments, which has helped my girls succeed and win at tournaments. Mandala offers a friendly and welcoming environment and my daughters are so happy to be a part of it.

When I approached him afterward to help my daughter feel comfortable, he was visibly exasperated and shouted, "I am teaching a class here and don't have time for this." As a parent, it is incredibly disappointing to see an owner treat a young child (and a long-term customer) with such a lack of patience. If the owner sets this kind of tone, it's hard to trust the environment. We won't be returning to a gym where the leadership lacks basic empathy for small children.

There's variety of schedules, tournaments, leagues (NCVA, AAU, Inter club, etc), coaches, and costs across all options. The good news is there's TON of options in the South Bay. The bad news is that ALL of them require a level of commitment that you have to be ready for. For us, this commitment came in the form of money, and giving up certain family activities to make room for a somewhat demanding schedule that you can't really miss days for (most clubs practice 2-3 a week and include a weekend day). The tryout process at Titan was fun and quite upbeat. Of all the places we tried, this club had music and super cheering coaches and volunteers. It was the best energy of them all. They offer 3 levels: Local, Travel, and select. Select is where the best players go and the tournament schedule includes a bigger regional event at the end of the season. Premier Travel includes some regional events. Local does not require driving or traveling more than an hour away. Season goes from December to May. Highly recommended if your girl has intermediate or basic skills and wants to improve her game without stress. Seems well priced compared to other clubs around. The tryout process started with a friendly greeting at the check in table where someone explained the welcome process. Then they gave you a number to pin tot he back of your shirt. Tryout consisted of general skill assessment as well as a couple of informal games towards the end. They seemed to have divided the girls into best skills, intermediate skills, smaller kids for U12. I counted about 36-38 girls for older group but only 10 girls for the U12 group. Right at the end of the tryout they posted the lineups and offers right outside the gym. The offer is basically an announcement to you of which team your daughter made with a 48hour period to think about it and decide. You then have to accept or reject the offer. If you accept, your spot in the team is reserved, but if you reject, you give up your spot so that someone in the waiting list gets an opportunity to participate. For the team we were trying (U12), every girl was offered a spot except for one. It's more competitive for older girls. Location is centric for people who live in San Jose / Campbell / Cupertino Area. Overall, my daughter had lots of fun and enjoyed her time during tryouts. The coaches here seem dedicated, fun, caring, and passionate about the sport. The level of coaches seems lower compared to other clubs that are more competitive around the Bay Area. But it seems like a good place to learn without the stress of other competitive clubs. I strongly recommend to try multiple clubs so you get a better sense of the differences in levels, coaches, facilities, schedule, etc. Good luck!

My daughter came from a competitive background (Hot Shots at CSC) and is a world record holder in hula hooping, yet the coaches here showed zero interest in her potential. We invested in double classes and summer camps to accelerate her progress, but she was stuck in their "orange/yellow" level for a year with no path forward. The "coaches" never bothered to provide targeted training or help her reach the pre-team level. To make matters worse, they gave her crushing negative feedback right to her face after a pre-team evaluation, which ultimately caused her to quit gymnastics entirely. They rely on their central location to attract new families, but they do not care about the students. Save your time and money--look elsewhere.
