Picture a decades-long horror movie marathon, but instead of ghosts and ghouls, it was contractors and service providers. And trust me--those jump scares were real. Let's rewind to when we moved into our current home ten years ago. Bright-eyed and full of hope, we decided to rip out all the carpeting and install engineered wood on the main floor and commercial-grade Berber upstairs. We went with one of those big box stores--you know the ones with the catchy jingles and questionable installation crews. At first, everything looked great. The installers were friendly, professional, and the floors gleamed like a Pinterest dream. But they installed them in August, when the heat was doing its best impression of a sauna. They left generous expansion gaps around the edges, which seemed smart... until early spring rolled around. The temperatures were much lower, the floors contracted, and suddenly our beautiful planks were playing hide-and-seek with the baseboards. Spoiler alert: the labor warranty had expired, and the material warranty didn't cover "seasonal heartbreak" or poor installation. So we lived with those gappy, groaning floors for nearly a decade. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We used Touchdown Flooring in 2020 to refinish hardwood floors and to install flooring in the kitchen and bathroom of a rental home. The kitchen and bathroom flooring came with a lifetime warranty. In 2022, the flooring was beginning to fail.. The snap lock system was cracking at the snapping area. We sent pictures and called many times. We were told it was a manufacturer issue and after months, they finally came out in August of 2023 and replaced the floor.. The installer that replaced the flooring told us it was a manufacturing issue that they were aware of. In early 2024, we discovered the same issue in the bathroom and began the process of calling, sending emails and pictures all over again. After 6 months or so, they had finally ordered new material and we waited again for it to be rescheduled. They sent the installer out again to replace the bathroom flooring. The installer asked our renter if there were any planks left from the original install then proceeded to replace the bad planks with the old ones leaving larger cracks than originally there even though they had new material specifically for the bathroom. This has been a couple months ago. We have called, emailed, been told that it is no longer under warranty even though it is a life time warranty, told it would be scheduled, and are still waiting for a return call to schedule the replacement. read more

I could not have been more happy with the service. I really wanted to love this company. The family who runs the shop is nice, but poor communication and quality control was not there. They were contracted to level the floor in a sunken den and install LPV throughout the main floor. The crew did not check the work to make sure the floor was level during or after install. It wasn't. Plus, there were large nail holes near the entrance that were a visible eyesore. I had to point both of these things out to the crew. They pulled up the old work and leveled the floor before reinstalling and they filled the nail holes with matching putty. So, it could be done. Communication-wise, it was awkward that I had to reach out to the company to see when they would arrive, to follow up about the quality issues, and to inquire about reducers instead of raised transitions. They said reducers wouldn't be a problem and they could send the crew out to install them. But, I've never heard back. They have been paid, so I imagine they are done with this project. We've had floors installed in 2 other properties in other states and this was such a strange experience. read more

Very responsive to our scheduling needs and always delivered as promised. When I went to pay them for a job, the dad (i am sorry I can't recall his name) was having lunch but invited me into his office to make sure all was well. I always prefer supporting local businesses, but sometimes I feel that the big chains are cheaper for bigger jobs because of their large volumes. After working with Touchdown Flooring, I've tossed out that myth. I just had beautiful new carpet installed on my entire main floor at a great price. The installers did a wonderful job. I've been working on a rather unusual tile border in one of the rooms; the installers had no problem working with me on that and getting the carpet edge to meet up precisely with the tile. I had scheduled an appointment to get the estimates for our flooring job with TouchDown flooring. Initial appointment went well when Sergio came home to get the exact measurements. We were told that the estimates would come in the following week. In the meantime we visited the store to look at the material and were hooked onto one of the luxury vinyl planks that we liked. We had decided to go ahead and get the job done from TouchdownFlooring until we saw their estimates. When the estimates came in we saw that the measurements of the floor were 300sqft more than even the unfinished floor plans as published on our county website. When we bought the house we carefully looked at the floorplan and there's no reason for that square footage to change as there where no renovations performed with respect to floorplan after we bought the house. I called the store back to tell them that these measurements skewed the estimates completely, and via email I also shared the county floorplan with them just so that we can get the measurements correct. I was thinking, why would I pay extra for the ~300sqft overage (which is 38-40% overage, usual overage that contractors/stores consider is at max 10%) and what will I do with the leftover material? I also mentioned to Mia that in the process of getting estimates and talking with other contractors, we saw that the other contractors were very close in square footage to the county published floorplan. Mia told me in an immediate email reply to go ahead with other contractors as their calculations are farther apart. I was honestly surprised by Mia's reply. They were not even considering to give us an honest measurement and estimate. The floor plan we provided was not a measurement from any other company or contractor but it came directly from the County website. To this Mia's reply was that they could do our work by considering what square footage we propose but if material falls short, their team would have to another trip for which we have to pay separately and the scheduled for the leftover work will depend on their availability later on. Honestly guys, customers do their research and it is very normal for customers to ask questions and get an honest answer if you want to build trust and gain business. After what happened, I would never go back to them and do any business. And yes, as rightly said by one of the older reviews - Touchdown flooring is good for you only if you are not on budget and want to just get the job done without doing any research. For what its worth, I am glad that we choose to pass on the offer from them. We got our job done, with the expected measurements and estimates and the with the same material as we wanted. read more

Touchdown Flooring performed a true and priceless act of true generosity and kindness. After years of saving, and hundreds of work hours, my parents finally accumulated enough to buy new carpet in our home. Going through a fairly rough time in life, they were so excited for new flooring. Yesterday on 4-2-18, Touchdown Flooring installed the carpet. When my parents came home, the carpet was all down (YES they finished EVERYTHING in one day!). Even though it was masterfully installed, my parents' heart sank when they realized the carpet they decided on did not match the walls at all. (The choice in color was 100% my parent's choice!) Sick at their stomachs and scared they threw thousands of hard-earned dollars away, my mom calls Touchdown Flooring in a panic. Without even asking for grace, this family-owned company offered to REPLACE the newly-installed carpet with another color, for a fraction (huge fraction!) of the cost. Not only that, TOMORROW they will rip up all of the hard work they just put in, and bless us with the perfectly colored-carpet... And unbelievable deal. very dissatisfied with their service!!! DO NOT care about the feelings of customers. Firstly, I reached them in JUNE，and started our service on JULY. BUT ,Still did NOT finish by today! They did measurement,and ordered carpet, but when they did the installation in JULY, they told me they did not order enough carpets for my home, then my two closets are just covered with broken pad.I called them 3 times to following up when they can finish the job, different staff told me different stories. Finally, they called me last week said they can finish my two walk-in closets by today. Then I spend one hour to empty my two closets last night, THEN I JUST GOT PHONE CALL SAID: "SORRY WE DID NOT ORDER ENOUGH CARPETS FOR YOUR TWO CLOSETS,ONLY ONE CAN BE FINISH TODAY." Seriously??? I am waiting over THREE MONTHS to do my carpet-program, still did not finish!My two closets size around 100 sqft, is it really hard to provide enough carpet by one time??! I did my diligence when selecting the flooring company for an update on my home. I looked for recommendations from friends as well as my local Facebook community. Touchdown was one of the companies that was recommended. All the estimates i received were relatively close in cost but the service i received from touchdown was excellent. We dropped by one day looking for a cheap way to refresh the flour on the lower level of our house in Issaquah. The friendly, experienced and well informed staff talked to us about our different options and in the end we went with high end flooring from DUCHATEAU and we couldn't be happier. We have two rambunctious dogs that "added a lot of character" to our old maple wood flooring and they haven't left a mark on the new stuff (over a year in). We recently had a flood in the upstairs of the house, that went through the ceiling to the first floor. The water sat on the hardwood floors on the first floor and buckled the hardwood, the carpet in 5 rooms was water stained and was a rip and replace. The kids were away for the summer so we wanted to get at least the flooring sorted out before they arrived. So starts our journey, Carpet, Product, or Hardwoods. We went to home depot and lowes which had a limited amount of prefinished product, we would have had to rip and replace the original hardwoods and replace them with pre finished and manufactured flooring. We went to Long's flooring who stated outright that they no longer refinish hardwood floors and they wanted us to rip them out and get product and carpet. We went to touch down flooring and were met with excitement, experience, knowledge, and speed. They seemed honestly interested to see the water damaged hardwoods and the situation. After having them to the house. ( less then 24 hours for the appointment, they owners have lived locally for 30 years ). They were very patient answering all of our questions about hardwoods, product, and carpet. Very patient and knowledgeable and honest, we asked a lot of questions. Most importantly the questions we didn't know to ask they did, " Wood you like those metal heating vents replaced with recessed oak vents so they stop popping out. YES! After talking with them we decided to have them refinish the pre-existing red oak hardwood floors, and even extend them through out the entire first floor of the house, partially upstairs. They assured us that they could match the wood pattern, and blend it perfectly. We were still very nervous as it was a lot of money our largest home repair improvement ever. They spent house looking at pictures of the existing hardwoods, and matching up lots from local distributors they felt would match the grain that was 25 years old. All the material arrived in less than a week of our decision, and the employees arrived the following Monday to start. The stitched or weaved in the new flooring to the old, sanded all the floors down multiple times until they were even and super smooth. They encountered some rotten subflooring under the downstairs toilet, that we didn't know had a slow 20-year leak, and no problem, they ripped up the hardwood around it, replaced the subflooring and just keep going. It probably took them a half day extra to do it. When I asked the owner about it he said Don't worry these things happen. The Job was supposed to be done Saturday, but because of the new problem in the bathroom, they went a little behind and asked if we minded if they came and finished Sunday. This is a great company, and we are so glad that we made the decision to go with them. Now we are getting more carpet with them. I would recommend this company without hesitation and serve as a personal reference for them and hope them the best. The hardwoods were also only slightly more expensive than the fake ones, and they will add a ton of value to the house. read more

Everyone is very nice to deal with and no pressure but after so many high reviews I was disappointed. I went with them despite their slightly higher bid, thinking I was getting better quality materials and workmanship. In the end, 1) they ran out of carpet and had to order more, 2) never kept us in the loop when they'd be coming back, 3) you can still see some of seams and stairs look a little different, 4) we asked them to bid on putting in hardwood flooring and despite having multiple chances (original measurement, carpet install, additional carpet install, promises to send someone out), we never heard a thing. A-OK is about right--nothing particularly awful but I won't use them again. read more

After contemplating for weeks, we finally decided to go with Touchdown Flooring and I'm so glad we did!
