King Cong Brewing is on Del Paso Blvd and down the street from my house so we have visited a few times - I'm surprised I have never left a review until now! They offer inside and outside seating which is nice because the inside is a little small, but they have tables and chairs plus bar seating. During our last visit, we ordered the Half Pepperoni, Half Cheese Pizza, Pesto Twists and Loaded Baked Beans. Everything was good - I was a big fan of the baked beans. I have also tried their Chicken Banh Mi, Chicken Wings, Goat Cheese and Almond Stuffed Dates Wrapped in House Smoked Applewood Bacon and Spinach and Goat Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms plus a couple of their other pizzas - everything is usually pretty solid! I think their menu is always changing as well. I did not try their beers this visit, but my husband did and he is always a fan of whatever he orders. Staff is friendly and they give great recommendations. I like that they also offer Paint Nights, Trivia Nights and even Millennial Loteria Nights plus other events! First time checking out this brewery and we happened to stop by on trivia night! It was definitely lively, but we just came in for a couple of beers and to soak in the atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. They even gave us a heads up about when to order food before the trivia rush hit, which we really appreciated. Even though we only ordered beer this time, everything we tried was refreshing and hit the spot. We didn't get food, but the pizza coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled so good that it's already on our list for next time. This was my first time visiting this brewery and it didnt disappoint! I visited on a weekday, about 20 mins after they opened which is at 4pm on a Tuesday. We parked on the street, which has a 2 hr limit but you dont have to pay, which was nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which was nice. There are about 5 tvs, both indoor and outdoor. They had a good selection of beer (stouts, sour, ipa, and pilsners), so I opted for a flight. Their food was super yummy, we got their nachos and their pesto twists. The twists were AMAZING. Stopped in on a early Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty quiet. The interior is kinda dark and old looking, but clean. There is a large back patio with seating and an area that looks like it would work for entertainment. The service person was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Ordered a flight of beers and the soft pretzels with beer cheese. Both the pretzels and the beers were excellent. They had a great selection of different beer styles from light to dark and everything I tasted was clean and correct for the style. The only thing I wish they offered were some malt forward options that would round out the offering. I will definitely return for the beer and also to try their pizza, which looked amazing. I've been wanting to come here for a while, it's in one of my favorite neighborhoods, and not too far from my house. I just came back from Germany, so I thought it would be fun to go to a brewery for some good beer for Valentines. When we first drove up, I wasn't sure if it was open or not. The front is a bit dark and could use some light. But we decided to park and check the door. They were open! The ambience is casual. They have tables inside, and an outside patio. I'll get back to that. When you come in you are greeted and you place your order at the bar. I asked for recommendations because the beer menu is huge. My husband and I are on the opposite ends of beer, and both of us like the recommendations we got. If you want to keep an open tab, you leave your credit card at the bar. The food menu is surprisingly extensive, ranging from salads to plates to pub food. We ended up getting a Mac burger, and a flatbread with bacon and chicken. We took our beers and our order sign and went to sit outside on the patio. It took a minute for the food to come, but we enjoyed it. Perfect with the beer. I love sitting outside and will do so in my fur coat if I have to. But here you don't have to because there are heaters everywhere. Personally, not a big fan of the heaters and they made the area pretty warm. I asked for the heater close to our table to be turned down, and the tables next to us that had other heaters on it became rolling stones because people would sit down and then move again because it was just too warm. I like the ambience and will go back to try more of the fantastic beer menu. This is a definitely a family place. Lots of children and a dog. There is parking out front on Del Paso Boulevard, but I suspect when it gets busier, you might have to park on the side streets. read more

Came here after a busy day at work with a coworker and was pleasantly surprised! I loved every beer we tried on the flight. The flatbread was very delicious and the crunch was perfect. The bartender (?)/ cashier (?) Were really friendly and willing to give recommendations to try. The space was busy even for a weekday. There were people of all ages there and they had a small cupboard with board games. It was a very hot fay so we didnt go to the back area. King Cong is a decent little brewery in a part of town that desperately needed a quality place to gather. Every now and again I come here to meet up with a group of friends and we enjoy the outdoor patio. Inside is rather dark and small, but the outdoor patio is pretty chill. There's shade, space heaters for the colder months, and the occasional brewery kitty. They do Trivia twice a week as well. Dog-friendly, of course. Service here is always polite and friendly. As far as beers go, I usually go with their Czech dark lager Prague at Night because it's fantastic and I am drawn to all dark beverages. There's usually a Russian Imperial Stout on tap too. In all honesty I really wish they would incorporate more maltier styles into the lineup as this place is very IPA heavy. I'd be down to see some ambers, browns, or porters in the mix. They have pizza here too, which I'm told is pretty tasty and reasonably priced, but they still don't offer dairy-free cheese so I can't partake. For my taste this is a solid three stars. read more

They have regular brews like the Orangutan, a fruity IPA and customer favorite. They serve mostly IPAs & Lagers, but you'll find some unique ones. Right now they have a Very Merry Chocolate Cherry Collab with Solano Brewing, which is a tasty stout. The Cocada King is a coconut-lime Kolsch and you'll find more fun beers like their Dia De Los Muertos Menu throughout the year. They serve a variety of menu items like their pub pretzel and burgers, salads and pizzas. We usually order the pepperoni pizza and it's so good with an ice cold beer. The bartenders are always so friendly and happy to let you know if there's anything new and we always have a great time while we're there. They have trivia nights on Thursdays and they're a great spot for groups. They sell four packs of most of their beers and they have some cute merch for sale too. I love King Cong Brewing! They have great beer and great food! My favorite is the elote salad or flatbread. It's so good trust me - order one of them and you will be happy. We last visited during the 12/16/23 anniversary party. There is always fun stuff happening here! They have outdoor seating and they have a bunch of propane heaters so you can stay comfortable while you listen to the live music with your dog. The indoor seating is plentiful as well. We have always had great service with every visit and all the staff is super helpful as well. There is a code for the bathrooms on signs in the seating areas. This is such a great place! read more

King Cong Brewing is a delightful Old North Sacramento nightcap after making the trek out for the likes of Southpaw Sushi or Burly's Vegan Diner. This is not your 8 IPAs and a pilsner brewery. Several styles are always available and most are done very well. I am liking their Czech pilsners lately. Their food features some surprisingly solid items. The pulled pork nachos are tastier than average and a real solid portion for the price. Their margarita pizza was also surprisingly good. The crust had crunch, chew, and a light buttery flavor that went well with the fresh basil, tomato, and tasty cheese. I'm intrigued by their fusion pizzas...the elote pizza and banh mi pizza. Maybe next time. The Kings games are on inside. Their patio is also quite comfortable for a pint. If you are lucky you may be visited on the patio by a friendly neighborhood kitty. I've been here a couple times over the years and can always count on good beers, and a decent selection of styles. I fully admit we stopped by last night just because Bridget W. posted pix of a brewery kitty and I have zero chill. Again I was satisfied with my experience and my beer. It was nice to sit outside in the chilly evening air, spending precious moments before we return once more to the season of Satan's Butthole. They have a nice spacious outdoor area decorated in the jungle theme with a cool mural. Space heaters are available on a chilly evening such as last night, and of course there is the brewery kitty making the rounds for pets but mostly to see if you have a scrap of spare food about your person. Kitty was especially brave to visit us when we were a table away from a big doggie. The outdoor seating area is dog friendly, which is another plus. We ordered an IPA of some kind (Dave likes these and I don't typically but I found this one to smell nice and taste good too. Nice.) and the Jungle Project Imperial Stout with Cabernet and honey which was a delightful punch in the mouth at 11%. I also have zero chill when it comes to strong beer. Heh. The Jungle Project kind of reminded me of what would happen should a barleywine and a stout decide to have a baby. Yum. I've also had other lagers, stouts, a pilsner, and a sour here that I quite liked. Again, the variety of styles is much appreciated. They also have food offerings; we've tried one of the pizzas before and found it to be yummy. They also offer ciders for the people you bring who don't like or want beer. We had the bahn mi pizza and it was delicious. One of the best pizzas I've had in a while. We joked about how much flavor was in the crust, they probably use cucumber water or something in it cuz it was crazy. We also had a couple beers and chips and salsa. I can't remember the name of the beer, but they were sour and very good, smooth, and easy to drink. I'd probably pass on the chips and salsa next time. Looks like they also do trivia so we'll probably come back for that. I think I remember there being a sign that said Mondays it's 2 beers and a pizza for $30 so I might have to go back and try the other pizzas because they all sounded good. Luckily there was seating inside the restaurant. I ordered two drinks, one was the King Lórien which was more on the lighter side. This beer had a nice rose note at the end. I then ordered the Orangutan which tasted amazing! Definitely on the stronger side but love the crisp taste at the end. I would recommend order this as this is their most popular drink there. I tried my friends nachos which was great, love the tortilla chips they used. The pizza tasted okay, I wouldn't recommend ordered it. It was nothing special. Would I come back? Yes!
