In my pursuit to try all of the croissants in town, I came to Tous Les Jours to try their ham & cheese croissant. I knew this was more of a fusion bakery so didn't expect anything too fancy. I was very disappointed by their croissant though. It was filled with the ultra processed American cheese that gave it a gummy texture and the croissant was just ok - not too flaky. It was also much smaller than the other bakeries for over $4. I couldn't even finish it because of the texture and flavor. The hot dog bun was much better and had a creamy cheesy/mayo sauce and the sausage was pretty good. I think I'll go to Paris baguette today to get my croissant fix satisfied after the disappointment. read more

On Friday it was sunny and beautiful and I was stir crazy, planning a picnic and maybe an adventure for Saturday. Between Covid, chemo, and working from home I have been feeling a little trapped TBH. On Saturday it was that dang crazy Oregon so called spring weather where you look one way ( hail) then another (overcast, gray) then another -(sun shower). So huh. Maybe not the right day for an adventure. Or? How about a bakery adventure? I dragged my minion in here and we got several things to share, macaron, and an iced mocha. The staff were all masked, efficient, polite, there was limited seating. Most things are packaged for customers to pick up except hot things, cake, and macaron. Then you ask for help. We took our $31 haul ( it was the 6 macaron for $13 that upped the bill) to Cedar Hills Park and simultaneously spotted a picnic table and hail in the same instant. So, we ate in the car and watched the volleyball players play in the hail. -The macaron were not my fav. Very soft almost mushy. Orange truffle was the yummiest flavor of the three. -The profiteroles were damn delicious. I could eat a dozen. They come 5 in a cup. -The strawberry cream croissant was more squishy than flaky but very good still. I ate one illegal ( for me) berry slice. The rest minion ate. -The croque monsieur had American cheese on it which isn't my preference. It tasted nice tho'. It was kind of sweet which I found surprising. -Minion's iced mocha was yummy. There were a lot of beautiful pastries with nuts and fruits I had to skip for now. They also have yummy looking smoothies and boba teas. The bread here is good with a fair variety of different items to tend to your cravings: savory pastries, sweet pastries with/without creme, cakes, croquettes, etc. We got the milk bun, cream cheese cake, spinach danish, and Yuzu bread. The milk bun is classic with a glazed bun and sweet milk creme inside. The cream cheese cake could be alittle sweeter but that's my personal preference. July 17, 2020: Dropped by to get a quick snack before my grocery shopping at Trader Joe's. I got a savory bun and cold brew to eat in, while taking a chestnut pastry to go. The staff was friendly and practiced the social distancing very seriously. They pour a little cup of cream for my individual use, and I really appreciate it. The food is amazing! I love their savory pastries. Everything I have tried has been delicious. They have good service. They have the flow down, so even when it is busy everything moves smoothly. Before my visit here today, I called in to make sure they still had milk bread and was informed there was a fair amount left. Upon my arrival, I was incredibly sad to see that all the milk bread loaves were gone and nearly all of their other selection of loaves had been ravaged as well. Completely heartbroken, I waited in line to ask the cashier if they had any left in the back. Fortunately, they did! Impeccable customer service she had as she went into the back and prepared a fresh loaf for me and I went on my merry way. The food here is excellent, the service is great, the place is incredibly clean, but things go fast!! I advise coming here as you'll most definitely enjoy the experience, but I also advise getting here earlier to make sure you get the tasty treats you want. TLDR: It's pricy but the quality is so worth the price, especially for their coffee drinks. Pastries: they have a great variety of sweet and savory options. Compared to other high-end Asian pastry shops in the area, I would always choose this place above all the others. While the price is higher like the other shops, they just have better pastries, the service is courteous and great, and the coffee is outstanding. Coffee/Beverages: Don't get me started on the coffee, it's the best coffee that is actually worth the $5-$6. I always get their mocha, but the tiramisu latte I'm drinking right now, is the reason why I'm writing this review. I have been wanting to go here for some time and I am grateful that I was finally in need to bring something for a friend's Halloween gathering and was going to be nearby. I went in totally blind which makes me want to go back and be a bit more efficient about it. I felt in a hurry and just completely awkward with the entire experience so now I can safely tell you to not do what I did because what I did was completely wrong. I went in, I think....an hour before closing. Let me also add in that I am currently in an air cast boot with a broken ankle and a cane so I am awkward and people suck. So, two different people near ran me over as I was trying to figure out what to do in the store. I walked in and was confused because there is a sort of display to the right which had a bunch of empty displays with crumbs and labels. An employee kept rushing back and forth between the back area and the display grabbing the empty items prompting me and everyone else entering asking if they were closed because for a bakery I saw very few bakery items and they seemed to be rushing to shut down. She said no, almost confused. I then saw some small signage directing people to grab a sort of tray and use tongs to grab items etc. So I guess when they have available things you would do that and then bring them to the front counter. Up fron there was a fancy counter and had macaroons in many flavors. I grabbed a very spendy box of those which is what I brought to my friend's party and she did not put out so I never tried one to know if they compare to ones I have found elsewhere. I did grab from another case a fruit tart which was lovely. I also got a hot cocoa...this was a nice surprise as they spice it. It was odd at first but I did enjoy it in the end. They have a pretty extensive menu and are very popular - for good reason. The bit I was able to try was impressive but know going in that you should go earlier in the day and probably plan a touch what you are going to order since they seem quite busy. I'm biased though because I love bakeries, and have a soft spot for asian bakeries at that. It definitely reminds me of the bakeries I visited in Seoul. Fresh breads and pastries -both sweet and savory - are all self-serve. As are the warmed items like kimchi croquettes Chilled items like their cakes and macarons are behind the counter. I'm sure everything is delicious but I love the sesame donut (closest thing to mochi donuts that we have in Portland), and the sweet pumpkin donut (similar to the first but stuffed with pumpkin). The red bean donut is good but it's more like a sweet bread rather than typical donut outside. You can't go wrong with the chocolate almond pastèques either. Finally got over here to try this place out, and I see it becoming a regular spot of mine already. Similar to the Japanese bakery Oyatsupan, this is a Korean bakery that lets you get your own items using tongs. Of course, the refrigerated items that are behind a glass must be retrieved by them. The decor is simple, but chic; it's the perfect place for an Instagrams to take pics! It's also really clean and has air condition, which is awesome for combating the summer's crazy weather. They have donuts, cream puffs, macaroons, cheesecake, cream cake, mango mousse cups, chocolate cake, and a bunch of other assorted pastries. Tous Les Jours, a Korean/French bakery chain opened a location in Beaverton Square, diagonal to Trader Joe's, and it was calling me in! I've been to Vietnamese/French bakeries like the delectable An Xuyen Bakery in SE, but I've never been to a Korean bakery. There are lots of similarities like the breads, which are sweet and light, the batter made with milk. And many new items that I had never seen. The bakery is set up so that you can circle the cases that have sliding doors for self serve, tongs and trays are provided. Each item has a description, calorie count and price clearly labeled. Most people were selecting several to enjoy so I strongly recommend coming with friends! For me, one high carb item is enough, two will send my blood sugar to the moon! After speaking with both the head baker and one of the employees, who was super friendly, and explained all the different choices, how they were made, her "favorites" and those that sell out first, I made a selection to bring home and share with friends: - Cocoa hazelnut croissant. Flaky, nice cocoa flavor without being overwhelming, light hazelnut crumbs. I would buy again. - Milk bread. This is the Baker's favorite and I can see why. The outside was crisp and the dough inside soft with a nice chew. Sweet from the milk but the texture of bread. It is nice eaten at room temp, better toasted. I would buy again. - The Milk. Not to be confused with the Milk Bread, this is a small, soft, round bun with vanilla cream inside. The bun is very soft and spongy; it reminds me of bao but with a sweet cream inside rather than a savory filling. They sell them individually packages and they come in a variety of flavors. As recommended by the Baker, we heated this up for a few seconds in the microwave. I am glad I only purchased one because if you bought these by the dozen, they would disappear! It's a few quick bites and your done. It doesn't fill you up which explains why I saw others buying several. The red bean doughnuts are the most popular, a doughnut with a red bean paste inside like a jelly doughnut, but not as sweet. And sesame doughnuts also sell out fast. There are several different types of milk breads (strawberry, walnut cream cheese, blueberry) and loafs, and a morning bread filled with cream cheese. Evidently there are a lot of repeat customers already because many people were searching for their favorites! On the French side, there were croissants, chocolate croissants, pain aux raison, individual macaroons (in the refrigerated area with the cakes) and pre-boxed macaroon, which would make a lovely hostess gift. If Savory is more your thing, you will have lots to choose from - ham and cheese croissants, Croque Monsieur, a variety of pastries with hot dogs, and hot croquettes with either ham, curry or kimchi fillings. I need to come for lunch one day and try the kimchi croquette. I'm intrigued! The cakes are beautiful, some absolutely adorable, They even sell squares of tiramisu to take home or individual pieces. Candles and other birthday essentials are also available and very convenient. Of course there is a full drink and coffee menu available, and cold drinks and sandwiches to order. The space has lots of natural light, plenty of tables, and a clean uncluttered aesthetic. The smell of fresh bread permeates as they bake items all day. They are still figuring out the demand and customers preferences, which fluctuates as more and more people are discovering this little gem. So if your favorite is sold out, try another, it may become your new favorite! And if you walk around long enough trying to decide, a fresh tray of red bean doughnuts or croissants may come out of the oven. SUPPLY AND DEMAND ISSUES! This is the third time I've visited after 3pm and another experience of scraping from the bottom of the barrel. I can hear other customers asking the same questions "do you have any more of...?" "No, we stop baking after 11am". You can see that the place is over staffed because most of them are trying find something to do when they could be making more pastries to stock the empty shelves. This is a reputable bakery knowing it's also in nearby CA, however there hasn't been any consistency as all the southern CA locations maintain a healthy stock of items. We want to see this bakery successful as it's been long awaited for in this area of town. It's about time that a Korean bakery has opened in Beaverton! With a large Korean community in the area, it seems fitting to have Tous Les Jours settle into the Beaverton Town Square. It's conveniently located right next to a Korean restaurant and near Trader Joe's. Given that Tous Les Jours has a French influence, the interior design is very fitting. The so oden designs and warm tones gives it a French bakery feel despite the smaller size. On the right side is where all the baked goods are at. The desserts are in a case with the registers and there's a small eating section as well. I've grabbed an assortment of items: kimchi croquette, milk soft bread, red bean bread, sesame balls, blueberry cream cheese bread, an egg sandwich and etc. My personal favorite is the kimchi croquette because it tastes like eating kimchi stew in a warm, soft but flakey bread crust. It's a surprising but great combination that you can't find anywhere else in Portland! During the grand opening weekend (1/25-1/27) they are offering special gifts if you purchase at least $20, $30 and $50 worth of items. I'm glad that there's a good bakery and pastry shop located in the area! I've been here a handful of times now and have been pleased and satisfied everytime. Some of my favorites include the sesame donut. Its has a nice hard texture outside, but chewy and packed with flavors on the inside. The kimchi croquette is also very tasty as it is not overpowering. They also have cakes here, and I've literally tried three of them already and they are all good. I would have to say the blueberry yogurt one was my favorite as its not your typical cake. The cake has like a layer of yogurt that goes seei'll with the blueberries giving it a nice taste. The cakes here are not too sweet, which is also a bonus. The place to buy birthday cakes in Portland! I love Paris baguette's strawberry shortcake. Having moved here from New York, I couldn't find a store here. My brother ordered the strawberry shortcake from Tous les Jours on my birthday and since then on all our birthday cakes come from here! The cloud cake cream is so light and fluffy and aptly named. It doesn't have the coy sweetness of buttercream and hence I love it! We have ventured out and tried different cakes that this place has to offer - some of which are seasonal. My two boys and I just returned from spending a few months in Asia. We were missing the bakeries from KL and wanted to see if we could find something similar. To my surprise, this place popped up on Yelp. And they had coffee buns, our favorite treat over there. Yay! We were actually in a hurry to be somewhere else, but we had five minutes to spare. Just enough time to run in, find the coffee kaya buns, pay and get out. It was very busy. They were so fast and efficient that we had time to spare. The coffee kaya bun was good but not like the roti boys (Mexican coffee buns) we had in Malaysia. I still give it five stars because I realize there could be subtle differences between coffee kaya buns and roti boys. Either way, it was pretty good. And had I not had a roti boy in KL, it would have been amazing. I did not see anything else as we only ran in to get the bun specifically. We do want to try the sesame balls, but they do not look like the street food we had in Thailand. But again, every place does it differently. We will definitely return and try more goodies. 03/04/21: 4.75 out of 5 - I was returning a Volvo loaner and decided to make a stop over to Tous Les Jour as it's been awhile since I've been in Beaverton. Regardless, this is during COVID so it's pretty empty but busy. Others were coming and going. The staff was very nice, and attentive. The place is clean and kept. There is much to take in as there is such a variety. I bought no drinks and went with just some little pastry snacks -- which all are all tasty little pastry snacks. Visited this place for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The selection of sweet and savory options was pretty balanced. Pricing was as expected for a nicer end bakery, with a butter cream soft bread running $2.75 and a slice of fresh cream green tea cake for $6. The packaging for the $18 Swiss rolls looked very premium and their breads seemed quite most. The green tea cream cake was tasty and the highlight was the quality of the whipped cream. It wasn't a heavy dairy taste or overly sweet. The green tea cake was light, but the ratio of whipped cream vs. cake was a bit imbalanced with a tad too much whipped cream (as tasty as it was). So far, so good... I have yet to try the strawberry soft bread I bought, but would definitely go back to try the Swiss roll and the curry or kimchi croquettes. (One of my friends said they were good.) ---------------- Updated review: Tried the chocolate fresh cream cake and the green tea version was definitely better. There wasn't a lot of chocolate flavor, which I expected to be a strong flavor balance to the cream. The BEST bakery in Beaverton! And Oregon, if I can be so bold... Oh my god. Several times I drove by this place and thought to myself, oh cool, a French bakery. Super cute but looked too high end for my pocket. So I never checked it out. Oh, was I so wrong. Finally a few days ago, I decided to just throw my hands in the air and check it out. I initially thought I'd take a look at their cakes and pastries and probably buy something small with my drink. I walked out with four different cakes/pastries! So spoiled! But too good to pass. I went for a buttery croissant, which tasted splendidly and had a slight crunch and wonderful buttery aftertaste. Then I picked up a doughnut red bean bun, sprinkled with sugar. Oh! It was amaaaaazing. I think I like this version more than the steamed version now. Oops. The fried doughnut complemented the red bean filling so very perfectly. And the sugar on top just balanced everything out and made it one wonderfully scrumptious treat. Ah I will definitely grab more of these next time. One of my faves by far. Then, I got a savory pastry loaded with mushroom and cheese and cooked to golden perfection. It just looked too good to pass up, even though I have been following a strict no dairy diet. I do slip up sometimes. TOO GOOD!! omg. Never have I tried a savory pastry so flavorful. I was telling my partner, they need to make a bigger, pizza version of this... Finally, I picked up a cup from the fridge that contained some profiteroles. They were FULL of delicious sweet cream. Just loved everything and I had no faults regarding the treats that I bought. They were all reasonably priced and affordable with no compromise on quality and flavor. I also ordered a chocolate chai latte which sounded intriguing at first but tasted a bit meh to me. I think I'll go with the plain chai latte next time. The hints of chocolate made it taste strange and not in a good way but maybe that's just me. Not taking away any stars for the drink though! As they're primarily a bakery not a coffee or tea shop. Will DEFINITELY be popping by here again. Probably TOO often. Help. read more

Aesthetically pleasing and their pasties are absolutely adorable. The workers are super friendly and are extremely patient. I was ordering macarons and was indecisive on what to get but they didn't rush or stare me down to hurry. I love this bakery. Always stopping by when in the area. read more

A quaint little bakery. It's actually a Korean brand so most of their breads have an Asian fusion. When I got there (around noon) there was no bread left at all, only a few throwaways of tarts and mochi balls. We were informed that the fresh breads will start coming out at 5. I don't understand why it would take that long! When I peaked into their work station, there was plenty of dough and pastries waiting around. I think they just need time to adjust as they are a new business. Give them a go but go during the less busy hours! (Not noon!) read more
