Cloud Cake with strawberries and blueberries - the cream was so fluffy. I loved it. My coworker was the one who went in to get the cake but originally, in the morning at around 8:40AM, they didn't have the cloud cakes out yet. However, the person went in to ask and we had the cake immediately brought out which is win! My most recent experience was really upsetting. The lady got my drink wrong twice. I ordered a matcha latte less ice and she put down a matcha strawberry latte. Which was fine, mistakes happen. Then, she proceeded to make me what I thought was going to be a matcha latte, and came out again with a matcha latte iced coffee concoction-mix. Now I was getting upset. How do you get the drinks wrong so many times?!?! I usually am pretty patient with errors, she justified it by saying it's special. BUT I DON'T EVEN DRINK COFFEE. My friend actually ordered a iced coffee, but they also spoke in Chinese and didn't make any iced coffee for the day, so she had luke warm coffee poured over iced. How do you assume a customer will drink your tailored drink whatever you choose to serve!!? When she finally got my drink correct, it didn't have a lot of matcha in it. And a lot of ice. So I was just drinking green colored milk with a lot of ice. My friends drink was also not poured all the way. Then, she overcharged me and gave me less money then I was owed. Unacceptable. My parents always get me an ice cream cake from the Carvel down the block for my birthday every year. However, it recently burned down :( and that left us scrambling to find another place for a cake. Wandering through all of the Chinese bakeries on 86th street and not being able to find what we were looking for, we decided to try Tous Les Jour again since we got one of their cakes last year and it tasted alright. Assessing taste, presentation, and price, I think the cakes here are passable. Bakeries like these definitely emphasize the presentation of their cakes to make them appealing to customers and I think they do a great job. Taste isn't bad either. Not too sweet but I wish there was more cake and less cream. Price is definitely reasonable for what we got. WAY more reasonable than Audrey's Concerto. However if I had to choose I think my go-to would still be Carvel's. It seems like they are in the process of reconstructing so hopefully they'll be open again by the time my birthday comes around next year! read more

In the past I enjoyed their food and drinks at another branch. Seeing how they opened one in 86th street is more convenient . During my first visit I was disappointed with the lack of experience the staff had; especially it was grand opening and staff were training at the same time. Besides that English was a problem. During my second visit, i ordered a drink with soy since I'm lactose intolerant but the barista thinks soy is the same as skim and makes my drink with skim. Allergies to milk and messing up can cost drinkers problems. Luckily I only had skin irritation. Recently my mom helped me purchase a kimchi croquette and a sweet potato pie. I was highly disappointed to think they were more stingy then the past. They mixed to items and didn't even separate it. Oily and sweet food should at least be separated with parchment paper and not just put together. It's disgusting and they are ruining their name. I have not gone in there for a while and probably will not bother until I really crave for their food. What's better then going to Starbucks for a cheaper price and better customer service. read more

Unfortunately, this place will eventually become just another bakery on 86th street and here is why: 1) customer service is terrible: was kept waiting 10 min for a price check on Korean mooncake. It's mid-autumn festival in a predominantly Chinese community- this should be in the spotlight. No body knew the price and the girl behind the register didnt reassure me that I was being helped by a manager of some sort 2) baked goods left in center display for customers to take with tongs: unsanitary. It's covered, sure. Even then, all food items should be handled by staff. 3) their set up is terrible. It felt like a clusterfuck 4) again, sanitary concern. Sampler boy out front, under the train overpass, samples ripped into uneven shreds hanging out in baskets 5) where the hell are the milk buns ...? This is one of my "go to" spots for cakes. They have nice looking cakes that are delicious. Recently, I started working around here so I try to come here sometimes for breakfast/coffee... you know, mix it up a bit with the usual stuff around /(sbux, Chinese bakeries, etc.). For a first time experience for the early morning, it went well. My coworker was with me and we placed iced drinks first and paid. I then went around looking at the bread and stuffs and then this cute girl comes out bringing my drink to me. What great service! :) I ended up getting the milk bun to go with my iced macchiato. The drink was good (normal and tasted like the usual) but what I liked was that it was really quick and cold. The milk bun was awesome! Nice and soft with warm condensed milk. Not as cold as I'd imagined. The prices were pretty normal imo. Some stuff being normal priced like iced cold drinks, some stuff being overpriced and pricey (mainly buns/pastries) *not all* but was expected. Overall affordable. This is definitely a combo I would do again and I hope the service is the same next time. Nice and quick, just how I like it. Came here twice, full of different varieties of breads and pastries. I love how they designed the place, always bright and clean. This place should be good with small groups, I wouldn't come here with a big group if you want to stay to eat. The breads are good for breakfast and brunch, close to the subway station so that you can grab and go eat while going to work. Pricing is a bit more pricey than an average Chinese bakery, after all its more presentable and has more of a wide range of flavors. If you're looking for a cake that isn't too sweet and light, this would be the place. I had just bought a cake from here, when I asked for help one of the employee tried but didn't have much information for each cake. Glad to have a location close to home. Servers have been attentive and polite the few times I've been there. The only complaint I have is that each time I go and order the same drink it tastes different. I wish there was some consistency. I usually order the earl grey latte. One time is just tasted like regular milk tea. Another time there was a Lipton tea bag in it! Even if there was a tea bag I would expect an earl grey one. The other two times were perfect. Their drink menu isn't that extensive so not sure why it's so hard to keep a recipe where all employees can follow. It's never too crowded which I like. I got there to get some pastries for my family and they are bug fans of the custard buns and I love their cake. I gifted a slice of Fresh cream cake to a friend and they loved it. By the way this is a korean-french bakery so it's a collaboration of flavors which I love. I've always been a fan of Tous les Jours so when I saw that they were opening one just steps from my house and a step from my gym (Planet Fitness), I was excited! I absolutely love Tous les Jours cakes especially from picking it up and eating for my friends birthdays. The bakery is decent size, cozy, bright, and warm just like the ones I've been to in Flushing. The one on 32nd street in Koreantown is a lot bigger and spacious. Customer service here is top notch and great! I got the smallest red velvet cake they had for my boyfriend's aunts birthday and I was excited to try it as I never had their version of a red velvet cake. The cake was inexpensive around $20-$25.00. It was worth the price and it was extremely delicious! I don't know why I've had red velvet cakes that were salty, but this one from Tous les Jours was perfect! Baked, fluffy, and not too sweet. Everyone loved it! I'm glad Tous les Jours opened up especially on 86th street, there's not that many great bakeries on 86th street and my side of Bensonhurst so it's great to have this addition. The breads, pastries and cakes all tastes very ordinary and low quality. I'm going to come here less often or not at all because it's expensive for the quality you get. Sometimes the sandwiches are out of stock really quickly and other times there aren't enough of options breads to eat. Most of the breads are simple which you can buy at regular Chinese bakery. The hotdog buns are so tiny and taste the same when you buy it in the regular Chinese bakery for a lot less expensive. You will still be hungry if you just ate one bread or pastry . Your stomach will not be satisfied. Tbh the Tous Les Jours in China taste a lot better with more higher quality and with much bigger options. read more
