Ofc we all know they have BOGO at the bakery towards closing and majority of the time it seems to be 7pm, they used to have a sign but this time I didn't see one. I prefer the ones from Bun Appetit more, but these were not bad. They have other types of bread and pastry behind the display cases to choose from. This is a one-of-a-kind bakery that's inside H-Mart in San José! Such an awesome location where you could get some groceries done, and be out & about with a savory/sweet treat from Tous Les Jours! Upon entering H-Mart, you can't miss this bakery at all! It'll be on your right immediately, and even though it looks small - don't let that deter you because they are huge on the quality of the ingredients AND the flavor - and it is also reasonably-priced! I am all about the quality & it is definitely well worth it. Once you maneuver around that corner bakery, you are greeted with cases filled with a variety of beautiful pastries and breads. When you are ready to choose your baked goods, you grab a wooden tray lined with parchment paper and a set of tongs and fill your tray with whatever your heart - or stomach - desires. I chose the fruit and cream filled croissant and a garlic twist for something more savory, but it was very difficult to limit my choices. Along one wall are a set of shelves with packaged goods. I also grabbed one of these - cream cheese bread - to take home with me. Next to the front counter is a cooler with some Korean beverages. I grabbed a box of strawberry milk, and proceeded to purchase my goodies, but not before I drooled over the aesthetically-looking cakes and delectable macarons in the front case. I had to resist getting anything else, so I told myself I would indulge in those next time. At the front counter, you can also order a variety of coffee drinks. No tables/chairs here, as it's more of a to-go place - but the surrounding locations of this bakery around the Bay Area has a full-service café set in a vibrant atmosphere with tables & chairs! Saw an Among Us cake from Tous Les Jours one day, and I knew I had to get it! I celebrated a birthday this past weekend, so this made the perfect birthday cake for my boyfriend. I ordered about a week in advance for pick up, pro tip: you get 10% your cake if you order more than 24 hours in advance! The only Among Us cake they had was the chocolate crunch one. I wish they had other flavors available since none of us are very big fans of chocolate. This is located just inside of H-Mart, directly on the right once you enter. The person who helped me was nice and helpful as they helped me get my cake. The flavor of the cake wasn't as bad as I thought. The chocolate flavor wasn't too strong and the "crunch" was a nice touch to balance out the cake. The hard chocolate shell on the outside was a little thick and was very rich in chocolate flavor. I loved the little decorations on the cake too! All in all, it definitely made a good laugh for everyone and we all enjoyed the cake. They also offer a decent amount of sweet and savory pastries as well as drinks. I have been coming here and purchasing cakes for the past few years and am rarely disappointed. Cakes are always fresh and so very beautiful!! I have never pre-ordered a cake, instead I opt to walk in and chose from whatever they are currently offering. Do I recommend winging it? Probably not but it does force you to try different flavors and keeps things from getting boring. We've never been disappointed so why fix something that's not broke, right?? Lmao. All things considered, be aware that there are a few things that may irk you: -Cakes are on the smaller side and will cost you $30-40 easily. -Requesting to have something written on your cake board is not guaranteed to look "pretty". I got the Spinach Feta Danish Garlic Cream Cheese Bread Milk Cream Bread And I forgot what it's called but it's a flat cream cheese pastry with a hint of peanut butter I've never had a Spinach Feta Danish before and I thought it was SO GOOD and I'd highly recommend it! The Milk Cream Bread was also delicious, it was very fluffy with a vanilla custard. I felt like it had the perfect light sweetness which is what I prefer in my pastries sometimes and what made it enjoyable for me. I love garlic pastries but I thought the cream cheese in the garlic bread was a bit overwhelming. Same with the peanut butter in the flat cream cheese pastry, I don't remember seeing peanut butter as a ingredient in it so it took me by surprise, but it honestly wasn't that bad, it was just a little bit dry. My review is solely based on the cakes Tous Les Jours offers since I have not tried any other pastry or drink from this chain. My family is certainly a fan of their tiramisu cake!! The cake itself is so soft and it cuts through easily. One of the things you need to watch out for is definitely that heavy heaping amount of coco powder! I've ordered cakes from Paris Baguette and 85C Bakery before, but I think I will most definitely order from here instead from now on. I ordered the Cloud Cake #3 and was so impressed because it was $35 and it was able to serve 15 people perfectly (with small-medium sized slices, i'd say closer to medium). I called in to place the order around 10am and picked it up at 6pm. Cakes come with a serving knife, candles, and matches. Only giving 4 stars and not 5 because I felt the actual cake layers could have been a bit thicker for better cake:frosting proportions. I thought this place would be a cute little cafe where you can sit inside or out. Well it turns out it's located inside a grocery store. They have some hot baked goods in a heated case and some others in a regular case. It reminded me of a mom and pop 85 degrees bakery. I tried the croquet and the inside filling was a bit over blended. I couldn't taste the individual ingredients. The hotdog bun wasn't too bad. The spinach and feta cheese was pretty good. The braided bun gave it a crispier texture. The strawberry bread was pretty good too. It was a pretty pink and had strawberry filling. 3.5 stars if i could! Stopped by during Shelter in Place to get a cake and a milk tea latte for a birthday. Super quick! Picked out the Piggy Cake, which was red velvet with strawberry jam! SO CUTE! My friend loved the cake. The cake could serve maybe 4-6 people and it was $28.99. Definitely plan to buy more cakes here in the future. Now for the downside of the shop... You could tell the milk tea latte was powdered for $4.25... you might as well buy the milk tea latte packages in H-mart and make it at home. Also, I couldn't tell what kind of tea it was supposed to be... barley? black tea? I really could not tell... Afterward, we ordered a mango smoothie since it was a hot day grocery shopping at H-mart. It took almost 10 minutes for them to make the smoothie! The customers behind us got their iced coffee drinks before we got the smoothie. We could tell that the workers were doing their best to get the right consistency of the smoothie, so they had to re-blend it a couple times. This shop is inside H Mart. It's like a smaller Paris and 85 degrees. The cake selections are smaller than PB and 85. The pastry selections are small too and some are pricier. I do like that some of their pastries are already warm (curry, hot dog, croquette pastries). Service is relatively quick but they don't replenish as often when it's around 5 pm. I placed an order over the phone 2 days in advance and something in me told me to call and confirm on the day of pick up and I'm sure glad I did. When I called, they couldn't find my order and told me they didn't have my cake available. It was disappointing and put me in a bind. 15 minutes later they called back and let me know they found my cake and that I could pick it up in a few hours. Discovered Tous Les Jours one day while charging my car. Took a walk to find a place to get a coffee while I wait. Walked in and tried their Black Forest coffee. It is an awesome drink!
