It was a pretty good stop here after 1:30pm on a Monday. No lines and no crowds. The parking lot is usually packed with cars, but today was a breeze getting in and out. This corner 85 Degrees C Bakery Cafe store is huge/wide in space/high ceiling height. Nice. There's plenty of tables and chairs inside as well as outside. Good set up. As usual, I purchased my medium cup iced tiger boba latte which is still under $5 each. Good flavor as always. Afterwards, I purchased some bread buns and their tote bag. Not bad at all. Tossed a bit of everything inside: coconut almond twist, cream buns, pork sung buns, ham & cheese buns, brioche loaf, garlic cheese breads, etc. All are fresh and good. This store surprised me with their huge space. It was comfortable walking around inside, but the egg tarts in full box needs to be wiped down before putting out on display shelf because ants were crawling on them. I didn't expect to see it here. Overall, it was a good stop. Staffs are efficient and helpful. Checkout was fast and I received my beverage quickly. Met a friend over pastries here the other morning. I haven't been to an 85 since before Covid, and was pleasantly surprised to see some new pastries. There was a mochi egg tart and a mochi ube bun that I had to try, along with my old favorites of a cream boroh and a milk bun. The milk bun was filled with a whipped cream type filling instead of the more custard like cream filling that I remembered and prefer. The mochi egg tart and mochi ube bun did have a chewy mochi-like filling in them. Pastries are pre packaged so that you can serve yourself on a tray, then get in line with your goodies to pay. There are cakes and other more delicate looking items in the case at the counter. read more

I stopped by 85° today on my way home. I've been to this location many times. It wasn't busy at all today. They were putting out fresh pastries when I arrived. I bought a few things. My favorite pastry that they make is the Berrytale. It's a soft bun with blueberry and cream cheese in the middle. I bought one of their seasonal items, which was the pumpkin-shaped bread. It's so cute. I can't wait to try it. There is a lot of seating at this location, and they also sell teas and beautiful cakes. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Came by for dessert the other day and it was a decent experience. Parking is available on nearby streets or in the strip mall plaza. There is a decent variety of baked breads, pastries, and cakes. Most of them are individually wrapped. I do miss the staff changing "fresh bread." Seems like staff wear a uniformed apron and name tag. Make sure to sign up for rewards where "points" can be collected. It's also the portal to get sporadic discounts. There is seating both indoors and outdoors. I find most of their items to be mass produced. For example, their matcha chocolate bun tasted like there was quite a bit of high frutose corn syrup. Their black forest cake is tasty, although the perfectly shaped cake and cream lets me believe that it was made using a machine. read more

What works: *Place is clean. *Pastries, breads and desserts are fresh and fly off the shelves pretty quickly. *Prices are reasonable. What doesn't work: *they have a lot of varieties and not everything is stellar. You might hit disappointing items once in a while, don't let that stop you from coming back. *since it's a chain, the bar for quality is pretty low. Too much sugar, too much fat and grease (read trans fat) across most of the items. So treat this as an occasional indulgence. Came across this spot by chance while I was in the area heading to HMart and ended up really enjoying it. The selection inside is just like the other locations I've been to, with lots of fresh baked goods both sweet and savory. Everything looked like it had just come out of the oven and the quality was on point. I grabbed a few pastries from the self-serve racks and they were all soft, warm, and flavorful. They also have a nice variety of chilled desserts in the open fridges along the wall, plus more sweets in the display case near the counter. The drink ordering system is done through kiosks which makes it quick and easy to get what you want without waiting in line. I usually go for one of the sea salt coffees and this one came out perfectly made. The space inside is clean and bright with high ceilings and plenty of seating. There's also outdoor tables if you prefer to sit outside. Staff were friendly and worked fast even when it got a little busy. Parking was simple since it shares the lot with HMart and a bunch of other restaurants in the plaza. It ended up being a great stop and now that I know it's here, I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in the area. read more

The multigrain walnut bread is by far the best item for something yummy but also not too sweet and relatively healthy. The other items can be a bit sweet and pillowy soft texture. There's a strong selection of savory items with cheese and/or protein, with all of them including a bit of mayo on the ingredient list. 85C is a bakery chain - this location has plenty of parking in the lot in front and takes apple pay. The barista was nice, packed our pastries properly, and made our drinks relatively quickly. There's lots of seating inside as well. The pineapple cakes were reminiscent of the costco ones and tasted good - they traveled well and stayed fresh for a few days at home. The mango delight was airy and aesthetic but not sweet enough. The tiramisu was creamy and delicious. The drink, however pretty, was not good - it wasn't sweet and the texture of the mango coconut was curdly. I came into 85 Degrees with my team, and there sure are a lot of us! And the 85 Degrees staff were very patient and efficient with bringing all of our drinks out as quickly as possible, which I REALLY appreciate! Inside, there is an area to gather pastries, seating areas, and a check out line, where you can order drinks and buy your items. I got the Strawberry Milk Tea, Egg Mochi, and Pineapple Cakes. The Strawberry Milk Tea Boba was DELICIOUS! They put small strawberry chunks inside this drink and it tastes so delicious! The Egg Mochis also come in a small box and are so cute and yummy! Inside, there is music in the background, and the vibe is mostly always busy and exciting. However, there is also outside seating for enjoying your pastries as well. I've been to 85°C Bakery Cafe several times in the past, but this recent visit was by far the worst. The employee who claimed to be the manager was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Instead of resolving our concern or even attempting to be helpful, she responded with a disgusting attitude and acted as if we were bothering her just by asking a simple question. It's disappointing to be treated this way as a paying customer. The experience left a really bad impression, and it's honestly not worth returning if this is how management chooses to treat people. I hope upper management takes this seriously and addresses the staff's behavior--especially those representing the store as a "manager." Until then, I won't be coming back. read more

I've drank their iced lychee green tea before and it was good. I got it for free though; I haven't bought their drinks because they're kind of expensive ($5+ each). Do not go here on the 1st day of a promo. They don't know how to or couldn't override the system. I got a promo on my app to get a free piece of bread with buying an espresso drink this month. They couldn't apply the promo cuz it wasn't in the system, so I just cancelled buying the bread. Maybe I'll come back on another day or just go to Paris baguette instead. 85 degrees should update their system and process, so it doesn't leave a bad customer experience. Really nice bakery close to home. We love their selection of pastries and individual portions of cakes. The mango cake, strawberry and chocolate cakes are all delicious. Their cheesecake is good too. Personally, their stuffed breads (mushroom, cheese) were not that tasty nor were the drinks we ordered. They felt like more bread than mixed toppings. However, their fresh bread loaves including the flavored ones (pumpkin, garlic) are all delicious. Place is on the expensive side, but the quality of the food justifies these prices. There is ample parking in the strip mall parking lot, though it is a narrow perpendicular parking with a lot of traffic, so need to be careful while reversing. This 85 Degree Bakery Cafe is located in a huge plaza so no need to worry about parking. However, this is one of the smaller bakeries in the South Bay. I visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it was slightly busy. Since this bakery is smaller than the others, the selection seems to be more limited. They didn't have a couple of my favorites - boba bun and the taro bun. I asked if they have some baking in the back and a gentleman said it's sold out for the day. A bit surprised since it was only 3pm and other 85's would still be bringing out "fresh bread" at this time. Although, I did get to grab a couple of the mochi egg tarts that some of my friends have been raving about and have to say.. highly recommend these! I do suggest toasting it a bit before eating them to get the gooeyness of the mochi.
