The restaurant is right off of a new development on the Green belt in Garden City and you can hear the water from the restaurant. They open the side of it so it gets fresh air. It just feels really refreshing and new. The buns were really good. I ordered the classic pork bun and the teriyaki bun. The lunch special is pretty reasonably priced I would say. I think it's a great new addition to the Greenbelt and the Boise community. I can't wait for more people to check it out. The service is good. The food comes out quick and it was really fresh and juicy. A fun new concept on the green belt. You have to stop by!

They didn't have the lumpia, but had croquettes instead which were absolutely delicious and highly recommended. We also tried 6 different bao and I think the Nashville Hot was probably my favorite. All of them tasted pretty good though. We were a little disappointed they didn't have desserts but they said they are hoping to add some. Service: 3/5. At first , we got our items quickly since we were one of the few groups there but once other groups started to arrive it took a long time to get anything that we had ordered. It also seemed like the waitress was late so one of the cooks had to fill in and take orders. Atmosphere: 4/5. The weather was nice so we were able to sit on the patio along the greenbelt. It is a good vibe and relaxing to sit outdoors. As the area gets more developed with the other additions currently under construction I think it will be a really cool atmosphere.

Days later, the city condemned the entire building, saying that a seemingly never-ending project by the building's owner to replace a basement floor had rendered the building unsafe. What had been expected to be a two-month closure has lingered for nearly two years as the building owner and the city have fought in court to get the building made safe again. As a result, Mai Thai, which had operated in the Union Block for 20 years has been largely homeless for nearly two years. They reopened at the kitchen of the defunct Crave delivery service in Meridian, a ghost kitchen concept, offering takeout and delivery far from the restaurant's Boise base. In early August, Mai Thai opened at a Boise ghost kitchen, only it's owner Billy Pothikamjorn and his staff running the place, not contacted workers with no ties to the actual restaurant. Mai Thai was located close to our home in Boise's West End and its new location is even closer. It's located in the West End Food Co. on Main Street. We ordered Hat Yai fried chicken, street food from Thailand topped with crispy shallots and served with yellow curry, roti and ginger rice. I had drunken noodles and Kristy and I shared an order of paratha a type of roti bread) with Japanese pumpkin green curry. Everything was excellent. Pothikamjorn took my order and prepared the food, so I knew it was going to have the same quality as when they were in their downtown location. Service is mostly restricted to takeout and free delivery if you live within a six-mile radius. There's a few tables outside, but it's on the sunny side of the street and during the hot summer likely isn't too inviting. I'm glad to see Billy and his crew back in Boise. They were among the restaurants that sustained us during Covid with their home delivery so we're happy they've persevered despite the troubles at their former location.

"Dear our loyal customers. We are writing to inform you of a significant transition that affects Ramen Sho. Effective March 19, 2025, we will sadly be closing our doors. It has been a pleasure serving our dishes to our customers, who became friends and family over the years since 2017, but it is time to say our goodbyes. We are incredibly grateful for your support throughout the years, and we want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly. Due to multiple determining factors, it has become impossible for us to keep the business going. We hope to open our doors again, should circumstances allow. Until then, we want you to know how much we value you as a customer. We encourage you to visit us in these last weeks and have one last meal.Once again, thank you for contributing to the memories we've made at Ramen Sho. It has been an honor serving you. The service was quick and friendly! The interior is not really my taste - it felt like a teenaged boy's room. There's a lot of anime posters and Japanese artwork, so definitely driving in the Japan/anime especially with the artwork outside the storefront. The menus look like they need an update since it was pretty worn down and barely held together by a taped up binder ring. We ordered veggie egg rolls to share and I ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen. The egg rolls were ok. The ramen was also ok - nothing impressive. The soup was ok, but not as creamy or rich as I prefer tonkotsu to be. The chashu was dry and chewy, so it could've used more cooking time. The noodles had a great texture and the half boiled egg was delicious. I wish there were bamboo shoots as well but not a personal dealbreaker. All in all, it's an okay ramen restaurant that's on the affordable side.

It was a little awkward coming in because it appears like a counter order and sit system but they actually seat you. We were guided to a table after they watched my friends and me wondering aimlessly trying to figure out the process. We ordered appetizers first, Crab Rangoons and gyoza. The rangoons were stuffed with cream cheese and crab, deep fried and crispy. Gyoza was heavily browned with hard edges and soft middles. All ingredients and sauces tasted fresh. We ordered as soon as our appetizers were delivered but our food came out almost immediately after. Kudos for quick service, but I was juggling appetizers and eating a meal which isn't my favorite thing to do. Not to mention, two people received their meals at the table, then mine came about 3 minutes after, then my last friend about 5 minutes after that. Pacing was uncomfortable as people were waiting on our friend to receive her meal to start eating. My husband had the teriyaki chicken. The broccoli was cut in larger florets but were perfectly steamed, ladled with a touch of teriyaki sauce. The chicken was fork tender and nicely seasoned. Though the rice amount was on the smaller side, the portions were incredibly generous for the price. My tonkotsu broth was not as flavorful as I'm used to but was a nice combo of flavors. The noodles were stuck together and the bok choi was in large pieces which made it difficult to eat without gnawing on a huge piece like a lady without manners. But I did it anyway. My friend loved the beef and broccoli. My other friend was not a fan of the orange chicken though I found it perfectly cooked...just without a crispy candied outside (which she prefers). Service was very slow after our food was delivered but those women were hustling to take care of a lot of orders, so I understood. When they finally came to give us the checks, they offered to box up my ramen...which was well done to keep it fresh. Very pleasant experience, though I would have loved a more flavorful broth.

That dining experience wasn't the best. Our server was rude. Our chef cross contaminated his cooking utensils with cooked veggies and raw chicken. We had to look for our server for sake bombs. These were just a couple of the few issues with my first initial visit. As horrible our first visit was, I made sure I came in today with an open mind. Our reservation time was for 5:15. They had our table set up and us at the table by 5:10. We did come early so it wasn't really busy at the time. We sat, got ourselves adjusted and our server was ready to grab our drinks. Our server did take a minute to get our drinks to us. We did have a couple different lemonades which could be time consuming and a hot water pot. After drinks were dispersed, or server asked if we wanted to do at starters. We asked her just to take all of our orders at the same time. Some of us wanted sushi for dinner as well as Hibachi. Soups and salads were dropped off while everything was getting prepped. The soup looked really hot but it actually was at a good temp. The soup was on the saltier side but still good. The salad was ok. The salad dressing didn't really hit for me. It wasn't sweet nor savory. This part of the review will be hard for me since my dad was our chef tonight. He's the most amazing chef on the planet so my opinion will always be bias for my dad. But I'll be honest! We started off with the fried rice. The rice was cooked nicely! It wasn't dry and had great bits of onion, egg and carrots. It could have used a little more soy sauce. My husband opted for the side of yakisoba noodles. They were chewy in texture and slightly charred! So good but it was on the saltier side. My meal was shrimp and salmon. The shrimp was tasty! They were good sized prawns and cooked perfectly. I appreciate that the salmon was grilled perfectly! I love when the salmon is crusty from the grill. I like the crispness on the outside and softness on the inside. My chef did a great job! Our server did an ok job. She checked up on us once while the chef was cooking. She filled up our drinks but miss my daughter's drink so we had to fill it ourselves since she left carafes of our lemonades on the fireplace. I had to fill up my drink as well since she was gone for a while. Boxes were passed out when we were done. She gave us 1 bag and didn't ask if anyone else needed their boxes bagged up. I did see bags on a side table so I grabbed a couple. Bagged up my sister's 4 boxes and my mom's 2 boxes. I would leave this at a 3.5 stars but since my chef did such a good job it's a 4. The silverware could be polished. Nothing like eating your meal with a fork with a ton of water spots on it and looks dirty. Soup could have been hotter since it's cold outside. Overall, it was a good meal with decent service.
