First timer, ordered over the phone for pick up it was really quick and easy. Inside reminds me of the crab shack from my name is earl. Pepperoni pizza was a solid 4/10 thin greasy almost no crust. I live local, and have recently discovered this amazing place. I tend to go more towards the beach and other places like POW or Harbor Room, but recently I've been going to Tower. Service: Best I've ever had in LA. The owner, Tony, is beyond amazing. He remembered me the second time I came. He knew I liked a big Bud Light and a Diet Coke. He remembered my name as well, and said "welcome back". Small things like that mean a lot, especially here in LA. All other staff have always been amazing to me as well. Food: Beyond good. I'm a pizza guy, and this is great. I also tend to love wings, and I gotta say...these are amazing. I highly suggest. Crowd: Friendly. It's obvious they have a lot of long-term customers, and I dig that. It means they're doing something right. That said, it's welcoming to everyone. I'd bring my GF here. I'd bring my parents here. It's just a friendly and happy place. Prices: Spectacular. Nothing else needs to be said. I love this place. You'll feel welcome there and you'll meet some great people. I go for the Parmesan chicken sandwich & hubby likes their meatball subs. It's really yummy. We also like their pizza a lot the only issue we have is w/ their pineapples. Beer, Burgers, and Pizza. Tower Pizza is a bar ... a local bar ... a very local bar ... full of people who know everybody else's name. It's the kind of bar you wouldn't drive 5 minutes out of your way for, but would walk to every night for a round of drinks with the guys. It simply gives you a relaxed place to get a Brewski with a classic American Burger or Pizza. I plopped down at a small table with a perfect view of a large TV. Each screen seemed to have different sports on, so, you can probably find one with whatever game you're interested in seeing. Within a minute of arriving, an out-going waitress popped over to offer service. She was friendly without being perky ... very relaxed ... which helped me relax. I ordered a pitcher of the Beer of the Month (forgot the name) and she quickly brought it with a bowl of free Popcorn. The beer was cold and the popcorn warm and fresh. For food, the Tower Burger with Cheese (Provolone) and Bacon met my mood and she had them toss on some extra Jalapenos for a spicy kick. To round out the "bar experience," an order of Chili Cheese Fries (with more Jalapenos) made sure I wasn't skimping on calories. The food was pretty standard 3-star bar food, but was exactly what I expected and wanted. The neighborhood gang wanted to get together for some pizza, so we went to Tower Pizza! SUPER glad that we did! This restaurant is nestled in between several restaurants on Lincoln Blvd in Westchester. Blink, and you will easily pass by. It's a small little restaurant that has plenty of friendly people. They have about 10 tables in the place and about 8-10 seats at the bar. You walk in and you are greeted with baskets of free popcorn (and you can also help yourself to the fresly popped stuff!). There are about 5 large flat screen TVs with sports playing (Hockey, Golf, Baseball, etc) , so you can pick and choose the sport you want to cheer! Food ranges from pizza to burgers to just about any kind of pub kinda food. We decided on the pizza! We ordered the 12" cheese pizza and added two toppings of pepperoni and mushroom (each additional was $1) and diet cokes! The pizza is always freshly made here. They make fresh dough every morning, so the crust is tasty chewy and crispy. They are very generous on the toppings, because when the pizza came out hot and fresh, there was tons of oozey strings of Mozz when you pulled the pizza piece away! YUM! Pizza Grade: B+ What I liked best about this place is the atmosphere they create. They have 5-6 video / pinballs / grabber games tucked away in the corner of the place. The owner / bartender knew that our group had a lot of kids (10+) in our party of 20+, and came by to give them a (free) roll of quarters to share and play video games. The kids were happy with their video games and prizes (the grabber game DID allow players to win cool prizes like Angry Bird Stuffed Animals) and the adults were happy sitting around drinking ice cold beer! Service Grade: A+ The wait staff were super friendly, as she learned everyone's name while walking in and used it throughout the day. She even made separate checks for every group/family in the party. WOW! She was super attentitive and made sure we all had a great time! You know how sometimes on a Friday night you're in the mood for some sort of quasi-greasy food like a cheeseburger and fries that comes in a Styrofoam to go container that requires an additional Styrofoam container of ranch dressing to really get the job done right? Look no further than Tower. I wouldn't say it's the BEST food in the whole wide world, but for the price, convenience, and delicious fatty-food-fix, it's a darn good choice. Wish I could give it 3 1/2 stars, but Yelp apparently does not cater to such wavering. :-) Also have only done take-out, so don't know what the service is like. read more

Tower Pizza appears to be more of a bar than a grill or restaurant. The ambiance is frat house/Animal House, dark and dingy with ultra cheap decor that has been around for decades. I did not have a beer or cocktail but they seem to have a decent selection of beer. I would not give them an A for cleanliness. The servers are extremely friendly and helpful with a big smile. The food: Their fish and chips looked and tasted like frozen fish sticks, which I know all too well what they taste like from my childhood. Reasonably priced, but I would rather pay double and get a real fried fillet of fish. I had their pizza twice. The first time it was decent; the second time it was amazingly salty. I cannot remember ever having such a salty pizza. This is a sports bar with 12 or 15 TV's on the walls. If I wanted to watch a game, have a drink, or eat bar food in the neighborhood, I would rather go to Tompkins Square on the corner of Lincoln and Manchester: better food, more upscale, and a much nicer ambiance. If I were an LMU student nearby and did not have a car or wanted to get stinking drunk and leave my car on campus, I would walk here to Tower Pizza. read more

I love pizza. Few people I talked to recommended Tower Pizza. I already have my favorites in Westchester but am curious about others. So I took their recommendation on the place and got their Super Tower for pick up. It's no where close to the likes of LaRocco's, The good pizza, Melodies. I'm going be to be nice and spare the details due to the COVID - compassion. But for $20.00 and being their largest is a 16" vs. the others 18"...like I said, I tried it....oh and they forgot my italian dressing after they have asked which dressing I would like with my salad. read more

The only reason for a 4 star instead of a 5 star review is that I went in for taco Tuesday and when I arrived at 7:30 they told me they were already out of chicken tacos and had a limited supply of the other options. I've been here before for taco Tuesday and the food has been great however every time I come in they are out of a certain type of taco or have to tell you that they are about to run out. I have no complaints about the food and think it's one if the better taco Tuesday places around playa and westchester I just wish they didnt always run out early in the night. I've been coming here since it opened. It's great family fun, and a great place to watch all the games. Little Leagues celebrate wins and consoles losing games with great pizzas and burgers. Tony the owner has supported the community in so many ways , from donating to ALL the schools in the community , All sports and community. Love the pizza put the Patty melt is my favorite. And it appeared to be a guy's place to watch sports although there was one woman in there with a guy. I was happy my pizza was ready because I felt uncomfortable for some reason. My first time here, but I was really early to a meeting and decided to stopped in for a quick bite and to watch the end of an NBA playoff basketball game. It's seems to be one of the only bars/restaurants in the area that had TVs to watch games, so I felt lucky. Baseball fans were sharing pies as the Dodgers were leading the Diamondbacks. As I got settled, a server came by to ask if I wanted anything to drink and dropped off a plate of pop corn (a nice comfort bonus). It's a relatively small place, but there were 11 TVs playing basically anything "sports" that was on at the time. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, and it was a solid dish. Nice, prompt, friendly service and a great place to relax and watch a game during a relatively chill Sunday afternoon. read more

Me and the GF walked down here yesterday for some pizza 'n beer eats. We could have gone with Dominos, considering I still have 31,000+ points, decided to have the real thing. When I walked in it just took me back to my childhood. I used to have a friend, who without fail, always used to go to a pizzeria every Saturday. Walking in to Tower, it was like being a kid. They have old school arcade games, a bar, and tables/booths. They do represent Loyola, because they have tons of memorabilia on the walls. We ordered a basket of fries, and a Super Tower 16" pizza. The pizza we ordered comes with 4 toppings, so I picked pepperoni and jalapeños, the gf picked mushrooms and olives. A few minutes later, the pizza was brought to our table fresh and smoking hot. We washed the foods down with some Sierra Nevada that they serve on tap. It's a pizza bar! We had a great time, and we'll be back. read more

I always found the food here to be underwhelming. Pizza - go to Vinny's. Chicken Wings and Sandwiches - go to Mo's. They often close early. Update to August 2013... Came in to get something to go. Service: The person who took our order seemed quite detached and non-caring. Do you tip when picking up a to-go order? I don't know what the customary thing to do is, but I usually do. I wondered about it here but when our order came and was simply plopped down beside me without a word...and when I paid and got my change and did not get so much as a 'thank you' and no eye contact, that pretty well decided it. The food: Chicken wings were not great, the sauce barely adequate. Chicken Parmesan Sandwich was flavorless with bits of breaded, fried chicken and mozzarella mostly. The marinara sauce was tremendously tasteless. The fries were the best part of the whole thing. It was absurdly comical, a meal of this caliber. No use getting upset; you just have to laugh and chalk it up to experience, as the saying goes. I even give one extra star for providing an experience I can use to have a laugh and tell a story (and write more of a yelp review). Like Mozart said in 'Amadeus' when he mocked Salieri's opera, "I never knew music like that was possible." I never knew food like this was possible. read more

To say I want to give this place negative stars is an understatement. I'd actually like to have Tower Pizza shut down it's that bad!!! I went to Loyola so sadly I have had the displeasure of eating at tower pizza. During my college days I'd often get dragged to tower by friends who loved the place though for the life of me I can't understand why. Something about the place being cheap and having good food. Just because something is cheap does not make it good! The pizza is mediocre at best and even at it's best I'd still consider ordering from a chain (pizza hut, dominos) before I'd order a pizza from tower. Thankfully I never had to do this because there's a decent pizza place right across the street! On the times when I got drug into tower I''d often have one of their sandwich specials. A buffalo chicken sandwich, California club or whatever they were making special on that given day. 100% of the time these sandwiches sounded way better than they are. How do you mess up turkey, bacon and avocado! I don't know I just don't get it. If anyone can explain to me the appeal please enlighten me. read more

The positive reviews on Tower Pizza are a testament to their service in the Westchester area. They are a local joint with a loyal patronage, and that counts for something, without a doubt. This review, however, is solely based on my take out order. I have no comment on the service, cleanliness of the eatery, etc. I'm hesitant to lob 2 stars at them, but after some thought, they were here well before the internet, and will most likely be here for many years to come. I doubt an honest and constructive review with a low rating will put them out of business, nor am I trying to. That said, in my quest to try all of the pizza in Westchester, Tower fell below Beach Pizza in the rankings, which is incredible, because I detest Beach Pizza. I was excited by the lure of Canadian bacon as a topping, an offering that is somewhat rare, for whatever reason. After getting my order home, I tear into a slice to be met with bland disappointment. The crust was incredibly flavorless and bland, and the sauce offered no help. This was a disaster. And when a Canadian bacon topping can't save you, all hope is lost. The saving grace, and the reason for 2 stars instead of 1, were the wings. Crispy, breaded, sauce on the side, with blue cheese. These were good, and I can imagine well paired with beer. Dear Tower "Pizza", with all the pizza joints in the area, you have a long road to competing. I get it, you have an edge over them with the bar. The stools were all taken, and I'm sure you do gangbusters business. But as a fellow local businessman, I'd love to see you thrive with a better quality product. There are no less than 6 places to get a pizza within a mile of Tower Pizza, and I didn't try their pie, so I'm not the guy to ask about their pizza. But I don't think they focus too much on their reputation for pizza. Tower Pizza is a great sports bar and grub joint, GREAT! It's barely visible as you walk past, but once inside you know what you've got. Video screens basically cover every inch of wall space, and the smell of stale beer and greasy bar food permeate the small space. If that sounds negative to you, oh well. To me it is heaven, free peanuts and cheap beer finished with a no frills cheeseburger, on a Wednesday afternoon watching a businessman's special Dodger game. Good to go! In a neighborhood that is increasingly being hipster-a-fied by the so-called silicon beach invaders, Tower is a hold out that, I hope, lasts forever as a tribute to Westchester's old school culture. read more

We have lived in Playa Vista for almost 7 years and we decided tonight, game 6 of the Kings Vs. Blackhawks to order in. C I'm bummed. I saw the pizza and it was thin, which I prefer. But it had no taste. Completely flavorless. To the point that I truly think Dominoes would have been better. Also, they didn't have wings. They had fried chicken wings with hot sauce but not the type of wings you usually see with pizza. At the end of the day, I didn't have super high expectations, but it was also very mediocre. Reviewed this place a few years ago, but after reading all the negative comments (not from locals), I have to throw in again. Don't like the vibe? Go elsewhere. Don't like the clientele? Go elsewhere (please!) Don't like the noise or the kids? Go down the hill to Brennans or some other college bar. Don't like the food? You don't know what to order. It's a great Westchester neighborhood place where everyone knows everyone else, and you can watch whatever sports game you'd like - just ask. If I could give this negative stars, I would do so. My boyfriend and I went in for beers with a relative of ours. First of all, the place has CARPET on the floor. Of a bar. A place where beer and food get spilled on an hourly if not bi-minute basis during sports games and the ilke. Gross. The carpeting was almost black with old spills and there was food and crumbs all over the floor. And it smelled as bad as it looked. But more importantly: And this next part might gross you out so word of warning. I decided just to have water while they drank beers. What I got was not a fresh clean glass of normal water, but a glass of water with chunks of food floating in the bottom of it and with food residue all along the bottom inside of the glass. Absolutely disgusting. Like, not a water stain, not a tiny floater of straw paper or a crumb from a nearby plate, but actual chunks of nasty old food floating around and stuck to the glass. It looked like someone dipped it in nasty sink water full of food and then filled it up with tap water. I asked for another one obviously, quite disgusted, but was given no apology, no sorry that happened to you, nothing. What i got was just an annoying look, not even any words spoken to me. Then...he brings back another glass of water and THE SECOND GLASS WAS ALSO DIRTY!!!! Same thing, but lesser chunks. I think the guy, honest to god, just rinsed out the dirty glass I had already been given and then refilled it! OR even worse, all their glasses are filthy. Either way, it's vile. Like, HOW DO YOU MESS UP A GLASS OF WATER? TWICE?! If their water glasses are this disgusting, I can't imagine what the food preparation must be like in there. Sick. They have an "A" rating up in the bar window, but I'm wondering who in the food inspection industry they had to bribe to get that grade. There's a photo here of the 2nd glass of water I received with the chunks of food floating in it. Keep in mind, the first glass had about 10x that amount of debris in it. Great place, servers, and patrons. Pizza is great and you can customize it. Great beer and wine selection. Kat L's post is completely false. The only thing true in it, is that my daughter was in the bathroom for a long time. I am the girl's father and was there that night. I never went to get her out of the bathroom. The girl's mother was not even there and she does not have any sisters. Her iPad was at the table, not with her. Kat L. has no idea what she is saying and was an embarrassment to her and her friends that night. Good riddance for not having to deal with her again. Her parents are the ones who raised an incompetent and rude girl. My daughter had to go to the bathroom because her stomach hurt and this Kat L. made a complete fool of herself in the bar. Kat L proceeded to call my daughter rude and say "why is she taking up the bathroom from paying people". We bought food and drinks too, so are we not allowed to use the restroom? Not to mention there are other places next door, if you have to go that bad. Kat L was an embarrassment and her story is completely false. Tower is not responsible for their patrons getting along. Cozy place... LMU supporters. Country-type sports bar feel with TV's at the bar... reminded me of joints in Big Bear. Definitely did not feel like LA but San Bernadino County. Service was good. Friendly big guy took our drink order and bought us popcorn. I'm a spender but tonight I just wanted water, plain and simple. He was happy with that. Some are not and you see the disappointment/mock in their eyes... anyway... Cranky GF was being a total arse (zero stars for her... wish I could rate her on yelp: 5 black holes) THE FOOD: the antipasta salad was missing 2 ingredients one was bell peppers and the other I forgot. The large pizza size was good at 16 inches. The pizza itself was unprofessional. All diced vegetables and canned mushrooms - GF couldn't believe it! The base was cooked first separately with sauce and cheese. Then diced unripened tomato, onions and bell peppers were put on top. The pizza was put back in the oven for another minute or so tops. So these ingredients were raw... you get the picture. I eat enough raw food as it is preferring the vitamins and enzymes to cooking them out but this time I wanted a real pizza... white flour and all. Maybe something was going on in the kitchen with the equipment or something... who knows. I have stuffed meals up in my time. They have a takeaway deal - 50% of a second pizza (large I think) Not my type of pizza but hey... if I was up at the bar knockin' a few back, I might not be so fussy and it might hit the spot. To the Cagey C reviewer telling everone who didn't like Tower Pizza to 'take a hike'... You sound a little too close to this place to be impartial per Yelp's rules. Anything ordered from the menu should be up to scratch... it ain't a matter of not knowing what to order. Menus shouldn't be booby trapped... like a minefield.
