Perla was great (5) and the food (5) was delicious! This review has NOTHING to do with food or service and everything to do with the venue itself and how they are choosing to do business. I think it's a bit crazy Ritrovo charges a service charge to dine there (give you MY business) and then the auto tip that comes up is 22% (which can be adjusted). Plus my dish was cut back (only 9). When I tipped out, my 9 agnolotti (no drink, app, dessert) totaled almost $35. I drove from the South Bay. Sorry, but there are SO many great Italian places that this will likely have been my last visit. read more

We love going to ritrovo for a cozy dinner. I have been many times and especially like the Bianca pizza and the agnolotti. You get fresh bread and olive tapenade to start when you sit down, which is always delicious. Today we tried a different item, the lasagna and the red sangria. The sangria was light and slightly bubbly and came in a large wine glass. They use the wine glasses with thin glass which is my preference. The service is great and the food comes out fast consistently as well. We have definitely been sleeping on the lasagna, it came out not as a dinky slice on plate like some restaurants, but in a baking dish so you get all of the amazing sauce and crispy edges. The lasagna was bubbling and almost overflowing, so it was a large portion. We dug right in and were very satisfied with the indulgent dish. Overall we very much enjoy eating at ritrovo. read more

We went here for a Valentine's Dinner and was pleasantly surprised! I didn't want to get caught in the stress and hustle and bustle of overcrowded Valentine's reservations. I'm so glad we found this humble little spot that was okay still taking last minute reservations and walk-in's. Luckily we beat the rush and was able to enjoy the cozy interior, service, and decent classic Italian dining service for a date night out! We ordered pappardelle and a shrimp risotto which I loved. The pappardelle bolognese was pretty generic. We shared a bottle of red wine. The arugula salad was nice and salty with shaved cheese on top and a generous portion. What I most loved was the live music guitar player playing songs that I recognized and loved and fit the cozy ambiance on the outdoor patio with heaters. I'm glad my boyfriend and I had an easy neighborly experience here and avoided the rushes. A great little spot in the area if you're looking for a good little pasta date night out! read more

This place has always had excellent food, but the experience has gone to another level over the past couple of years. About two years ago the staff was refreshed, and the current team is outstanding. The energy in the room is noticeably different -- everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, and that vibe carries through the whole restaurant. Valeria, Alejandro, Edward, and Louise deserve specific recognition. They are attentive, welcoming, and clearly take pride in what they do. It makes a big difference. Also a shoutout to Pedro, the chef who has been here forever -- the food continues to be consistently excellent. I lived in Playa Vista for two years previously and only came here maybe twice. I've been back in the area for about six weeks and have already been here four or more times. That says a lot about how much the overall experience has improved. Message to management: You clearly have a great team -- do everything you can to keep this crew together. One suggestion: if margaritas are on the menu, it would be great to offer tequila options that aren't from plastic bottles. You likely have the best happy hour in Playa Vista, but it feels like not enough people know about it. Also, not everyone sticks to beer and wine. Ok why are toppings on their pizza more than the pizza itself. Went for lunch and ordered the lunch special of the MINI pizza and a side salad which cost about $15 and then asked for pepperoni on the mini pizza which cost $7 extra which I felt was ridiculous for toppings for a Pizza the size of my hand isn't that the price of getting pepperoni on a large pizza which is still ridiculously priced! The scampi diavola was also good and it included a big portion of shrimp which made the already pretty affordable cost so much more worth it! The table bread and tampanade is very comforting but be careful or you'll fill up on it. The Caprese and the Polpettini Della Casa was a nice appetizer. The Seabass was slightly fishy but the presentation was gorgeous and the Risotto was melt in your mouth delicious, the Sausage and Pepperoni is my new favorite pizza. Great crust which is also the table bread, and the sauce is really flavorful. Sausage and pepperoni pizza I usually am super thirsty after but not this. It's fresh and made so light without lots of salt which I love. Hard to stop eating. It can get a little loud inside when it's busy because of the brick walls but you can grab a table outside for a little more quiet. $11-$30 pp depending on what you order as a main dish. First time coming here on Father's Day and had high expectations since I'm a huge fan of Italian food and also new to the area. Although the food was amazing, the service was less than desirable. Upon arriving 15min early to my reservation, the waiter didn't even acknowledge my presence in front of my children. Not a good first impression especially when the inside was fairly empty and he kept answering calls vs. attending to me. Second, it took 10min just to get water and to even get menus. Another 10min to place order and then a full 30 until we even got bread to the table! The waiter came only 3 times during the course of us being there an hour and a half! Once to give us water and menus, once to take order and then finally to leave a check. Only then did he wish me a Happy Father's Day. Don't really go to Playa to eat much. Can count on both hands how many places I've been to. After dining at Ritrovo, gonna have to consider Playa more often seeing as I live so close I could walk if I wasn't lazy. Anyway ... Ended up here last week Friday. I was dreading parking but found unmetered, street parking with no restrictions. Dinner experience only got better after that. 40 minutes early for my dinner reservation. No problem. Opted to sit at the bar and have a drink before dinner. No alcohol. Only beer and wine. No biggie - got me a wine sampler (see pics). Been on a wine kick lately. I like reds. Got me a white (Riesling) just to try something sweet. Just stayed seated at the bar for dinner. Service was excellent. Excellent. Said it twice intentionally. The whole team was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about their wines and food selections. The food - along with everything else starting with the parking - was great! See pics. Pasta was done to my liking. Sauces weren't bland or overpowering and the portion size was enough that I had both dinner and lunch the next day. And enjoyed both. Enjoyed it enough that my friend and I are already planning on when we're going back. Almost forgot to mention, it's family friendly. Standout dishes...risotto with fish, spaghetti carbonara, gnocchi with pesto and beet salad. My only complaint is that the olive oil mush served with the bread was awful. Please don't serve. At first blush, between the "Silicon Beach" location description and the server busy chatting up her model-looking friend. I was afraid this place would be a little too "LA." Still coming from Denver, I was wedded to eating outside after many cold months, so I went for it. When the food came out, though, I was proven very wrong. PIzza's, while not textbook Neoplitan, were excellent and just the right size for lunch. The wine list had a bunch of perfect options for a patio lunch and I'd be remice if i didn't call out the excellent Arugula and Artichoke salad. Ritrovo is not the easiest place to find. It is mostly a locals place, but it is tourist friendly and you want to take the time to find it. It is located in Playa Vista, right near Mar Vista and Marina Del Rey. It sits across from a park and near pretty new apartment complexes. You will find it. It is really a small town in some ways. First, the service is super great. It does not matter if you eat there or pick up, the staff is always smiling and they seem to like their job. The interior is very pretty and spotless. You can dine inside or out. They have a nice patio area. We usually pick up because we are nearby. We have also dinned there and loved it. They have great pizza and all things Italian. My favorite is their ravioli. It is just the best. You really need to try this place. You will love it. read more

Came here with 2 of my colleagues on the last day of my business trip since it was close to the office and had a great time! It's a good option to hang out and enjoy with some friends. [[ Location ]] It's located in a nice (new?) plaza that overlooks condos, other establishments, and a park. We went at night time and I thought the area was lit up really nicely. I think it's only street parking though but we got lucky and there was a spot right in front of the restaurant. [[ Restaurant ]] A nice bold sign of the restaurant is easily seen from the street and it has both indoor / outdoor seating. Luckily we got a break from the atmospheric rivers that have been hitting us for weeks in Jan 2023 and we decided to sit outside. Their large modern heaters were great and kept us warm and it was nice sitting outside and enjoying the food and views. [[ Food ]] For the 3 of us, we decided to order two large 16" pizza's and two salads to share. We got the following: - Arugula E Carciofi Salad - Sicilian Salad - 16" Napoli Pizza - 16" Dalla Casa Pizza Since the menu is so extensive, I will just say I enjoyed each dish and thought each dish was tasty. I will say that 16" pizza's are huge and we had a lot left-over for the 3 of us. I think one 16" pizza is enough for 3 people.
