Absolutely love this place! It's everything you'd expect from a great local sports bar right in the heart of El Segundo. I've been here a few times, and the staff are usually friendly. Their happy hour is an amazing deal -- Monday through Friday until 6 PM, with plenty of tasty items for just $7. And the HH food is really tasty (sliders highly recommended). Parking is usually easy to find, either in the nearby shopping mall or across the street, and there's also free street parking around. Great value for money, fun atmosphere, and they even host events like karaoke nights (check their website for dates -- usually Fridays). They have high top tables outside, with heathers if it's cold, as well as the usual seating options indoor.

An absolute 5-star burger from my favorite local diner. I tried the "ghost burger"--every ingredient was fresh, and made the burger complete. Normally I'm hesitant when it comes to turkey patties, but this place did it right. Moist and juicy. But beef is also an option, if it's more your flavor! Junior was my server. Was courteous and helpful--helped me decide what to order.

The food was okay, nothing to write home about. I like the crispiness of the chicken, but the spread they used was not my taste and the overall experience was messy. The cold beer was a plus.

Went to Standard Station with a couple of friends. We mostly wanted a quick bite and somewhere our dog and cat could be with us. (Dog leashed/ cat in a cat backpack) We sat outside and were helped pretty fast. The wings (bone in and boneless) were very good. We also enjoyed the fries. They turned on the heaters for us. Definitely coming back.

Great Food and Service. I was there for the World Series Games and the place was Packed. The Staff was Great and the Service was still on Point! Would definitely recommend for and Sporting Events.

Met a friend on a Saturday afternoon. Literally talked for hours! My friend is a regular there so they didn't rush us. Always there for baseball, birthday, etc. at first they were playing radio music, which was too loud for me. I could hear my friend talk. Minus the 1 star. I know... I'm in a bar. Then they had a guy in the corner with live music after. Which is nice! We both weren't too hungry and wanted finger foods to graze on. I loved the tots! Nice n crispy! Chili was delicious, could have eaten a bowl of that! Servers knew my friend and stopped to chat. Nice to have friendly people!

Great Food, Endless TVs, and a Sports Lover's Paradise If you're looking for a place to grab some fantastic food, enjoy a solid drink, and catch every game happening on planet Earth, Standard Station in El Segundo is your spot. I went with a group of friends and my girlfriend last night, and while the service was just okay--not bad, but nothing to write home about--the food and atmosphere more than made up for it. The food? Absolutely on point. Whatever they're doing in the kitchen, keep it up. From appetizers to mains, every bite delivered. The beer selection was strong, and their drinks were well-crafted--a perfect combo for a casual night out. But let's talk about the real MVP here: the TVs. They're everywhere. Seriously, if you're a sports fan, this place feels like you've hit the jackpot. Whether you're following one game or trying to keep track of five, Standard Station has you covered. It's a great place for groups, good vibes, and a chill, sports-centric evening. Just don't expect white-glove service--it's more about the food, drinks, and wall-to-wall action here.

Nice, local, "dive-ish" sports bar with friendly patrons. They offer pretty good selection of local craft beers and appetizers/food. The prices have increased significantly in the past couple of years (like everywhere else). It gets crowded in weekends so it can get pretty loud inside. Street parking only for the most part.

I limped in here with my Mom and her 3 friends after Tuesday evening Pickleball as they had me sprinting all across that 44 x 20 slab of asphalt. This is their go to happy hour spot after whacking that little wiffle ball around for 2 hours, so I thought it'd be fun to tag along. As we entered, they said hi to their favorite server and said "just the usual please" before we even sat down. They really DO this ahahaha. After sitting in a 4 person booth along with the "Moms Mafia," as they dub themselves, I began to take in my surroundings. Named after the Standard Oil Company (before it was renamed to Chevron in 1984), The Standard Station is the perfect mix of a divey sports bar, but without being too grungy. It is clean and well kept, but you can feel the character and just the overall soul of El Segundo in here. I love El Segundo so much, it reminds me exactly of what Manhattan Beach was 20+ years ago. Did you know El Segundo got its name because it was the site of the second Standard Oil refinery on the West Coast, when Standard Oil of California purchased the farmland in 1911? Because I didn't. Learn something everyday, damn... But I digress-- The happy hour menu is ELITE, as everything on there is $7 or less. Felt like I had warped space time reality to travel back to 2008 with this pricing. We opted to get nachos, popcorn shrimp, and the tots. The food was solid for sports bar food, slightly better than what you would expect...AMPLE portion size though you gotta LOVE that. I ended up walking into an ambush with the Moms Mafia, as they began to pepper me with questions about my new girlfriend. As I was alternating between bites of chicken nachos and popcorn shrimp I would have to answer everything from "So what does she do for fun?" to "Can we see some more pictures this is just one?" to "So when did you know that you LIKE like her"........ but it's okay cuz tbh I'm kinda smitten and like talking about it hehehehehe. All in all, I loved this place like I love El Segundo. So much soul, so much character. Ideal place to watch a game, to post up on a Saturday/Sunday and watch football, or to come after a good Pickleball sweat with the Moms Mafia. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

Met up with friends to watch Game 4 of this year's MLB World Series between the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Arrive several hours before the game to take advantage of the Happy Hour (3-6). No dedicated parking lot. At least nothing marked and no mention of it by staff or signage. Street parking available but there's a two hour limit until 6PM. Don't know if parking is strictly enforced. Not something I like to test. I parked on a side street that has no restrictions and walked a block to the station. No worries about tickets. There's a Rite Aid parking lot but there are signs reading for customers only. Park at your own risk. Service was excellent all staff who served us. Caught the shift change so I'm referring to both the day and evening crew. They were attentive. Friendly. All the usual even when business picked up with other sports fans as well as people coming in to hang out for Halloween. Food was standard - no pun intended. Meaning not gourmet but decent enough for the setting. See pics. The only knock I have is that I ordered Chicken Wings with Nashville hot and it didn't register or even tingle. I even asked the staff if I was given the right order. The server told me it's hot for the clientele and brought me out a cup of what he referred to as the spiciest sauce the kitchen has. Still didn't register but had a nice char flavor that I enjoyed. Lots of TV's to where we could watch the World Series, a NHL hockey game and eventually the Clipper game. Lots of seating with booths on the edges and both bar height and standard height tables, plus a bar and bar area. There's also outdoor seating too. Liked the place. Definitely be on my list of places to go to watch games

    Churros
    Jenna L.

This is your typical town bar where all of the locals hang out! I like how they have outdoor seating with patio heaters which is a nice touch. I ordered the churros which were delicciioouussss but I could only eat a few because they were loaded with sugar (obv). They were also Drizzled with caramel & came with vanilla icecream on the side. Oh emmmm geee! lol. The music they played here was amazing. Old school r&b and some oldies mixed in!

Perched above the Manhattan Beach Pier, this longtime local favorite has one of those views that makes you immediately forget whatever minor problem you had before walking in. Traffic? Gone. Emails? Gone. That text message you were supposed to answer three days ago? Also gone. All replaced by floor to ceiling windows, the Pacific Ocean, and a sunset that looks suspiciously like someone adjusted the saturation settings on reality. We stopped in for cocktails before dinner elsewhere, and honestly, it took a fair amount of self discipline to leave. The bar itself strikes that perfect Manhattan Beach balance between polished and relaxed. Contemporary without feeling cold. Stylish without trying too hard. Large enough for a lively crowd, yet comfortable enough to settle in and watch the evening unfold. Upstairs feels like an elevated coastal lounge, while downstairs carries a bit more energy and nightlife spirit as the evening progresses. A special shoutout goes to Jeffrey behind the bar. Jeffrey is exactly the kind of bartender you hope to find when you sit down somewhere new. Friendly, relaxed, knowledgeable, and able to make a cocktail that tastes like it was crafted by someone who actually enjoys making cocktails. The Old Fashioned was particularly memorable. Too many bars treat an Old Fashioned like a chemistry experiment gone wrong. Too sweet. Too bitter. Too medicinal. Too much of something. Jeffrey's version was balanced, smooth, and effortless. The kind of cocktail that quietly reminds you why the drink became famous in the first place. Around us, the room was buzzing. Large business groups celebrated victories. Friends gathered for sunset drinks. Couples leaned in over cocktails while pretending not to notice the spectacular view behind them. The atmosphere felt vibrant without becoming overwhelming. And then there was that view. The Manhattan Beach Pier stretching into the Pacific. The changing colors of the sky. The waves rolling in below. You almost find yourself staring out the windows between sips like a tourist seeing the ocean for the first time. The Strand House has been part of the South Bay dining scene for years, and after spending an evening here, it's easy to understand why. It's not trying to be trendy. It's not chasing the latest fad. It simply delivers a great setting, great drinks, and an experience that feels effortlessly Southern California. If you're looking for a sunset cocktail in Manhattan Beach, stop searching. These plants appeared to have union representation. They're everywhere. Hanging from things. Growing out of things. Quietly observing your meal. The whole place feels like someone built a really nice restaurant and then let nature move in as a long term tenant. The room hums. Not loudly. Not aggressively. Just enough. Glasses clink. People lean into conversations. Servers weave through the room carrying plates that look heavy enough to alter their center of gravity. Nobody seems rushed. Everybody seems busy. It's a difficult balance. The biscuits arrived first. Now, I'd heard about the biscuits. People talk about these biscuits the way fishermen talk about the one that got away. Slightly dramatic. A little emotional. Hard to verify. Turns out the stories were true. Warm bacon cheddar biscuits with maple butter. I took one bite and immediately understood why people order a second round. The outside has just enough structure to remind you it's baked. The inside is soft enough to make you wonder whether butter has secretly become a building material. We ordered another. Not because we needed another. Because apparently that's what happens here. The creamy polenta showed up next and felt like the culinary equivalent of a weighted blanket. Comforting. Smooth. Relaxed. The sort of dish that encourages you to slow down and stop checking your phone. The duck was one of my favorites. Lightly fried with crisp skin and tender meat, resting on white Italian beans and rosemary. It felt like something a French chef would cook after spending a weekend in the countryside and becoming briefly inspired by fresh air. At some point you stop evaluating food and simply nod in agreement with it. This was one of those moments. Dessert was equally dangerous. The olive oil cake arrived with strawberries and disappeared much faster than logic suggested it should. The cheesecake somehow managed to be rich and light at the same time, which feels like it should violate a law of physics somewhere. Service deserves its own mention. The whole team operates like a group project where everyone actually did their part. Plates appeared when they should. Water glasses mysteriously refilled themselves. Questions were answered without anyone making you feel like you should already know the answer. The chef's French influence shows up everywhere, but not in a showy way. Nothing feels complicated for the sake of being complicated. Everything feels like somebody spent a lot of time thinking about it so you wouldn't have to. By the end of the meal, I realized Manhattan Beach Post had done something difficult. It felt special without feeling serious. You can dress up. You can come casually. You can celebrate something important or absolutely nothing at all. Just order the biscuits. The plants already know you're going to.

Some dishes could've been executed better. Going down the list of dishes I had here: - Bacon Cheddar Buttermilk Biscuits: These were more like scones rather than biscuits. Crunchy with good bacon and cheddar flavor. - Japanese Hamachi Crudo: Unique and I liked the citrusy flavor and creamy texture. However, 3 small slices of fish for $26 was overpriced. - Leafy Greens & Radicchio: Solid and crispy salad with a nice tangy dressing. The cheese also added a lot of sharp flavor which was nice. - Skirt Steak: Good flavor and char, but a bit tough. Also some dry pieces. - Chilean Sea Bass: Lemon orzo risotto was creamy and delicious. The sea bass itself was okay, nothing special. It felt overpowered by the risotto. The fish was moist and flaky though. - 20 Oz Prime Beef Ribeye: Quality was subpar relative to price. Portion size was solid by the steak itself was inconsistent. Some of the pieces were rarer while others were more well-done even though we asked for medium rare. There were also some dry pieces which I did not like. Flavor was good though. - Strawberry and Olive Oil Cake: Was confused since there was just a thin layer of cake, but realized the title also referred to the mousse. I would title it 'Strawberry Mousse with Olive Oil Cake" to make it less confusing. Regardless, this was a delicious dessert! Love the fruity strawberry and savory pistachio flavors as well as the smooth textures. - S'mores sundae: Got this on the house for my aunt's birthday. A generous portion but the components were a bit too sweet for my liking. I visited this restaurant for a birthday that I organized and my experience was overall good. Reservation was made easy using OpenTable and I could also mention it was for a birthday occasion. The ambiance was gorgeous with good mood lighting. Good for group and 1 on 1 dining. Parking is metered or street parking. Overall, I probably wouldn't come out of my way to dine here again, but my experience wasn't bad just not significant enough to put in my rotation. Would come back if someone treated me here though.

The kind of happy hour where you're not just snacking -- you're accidentally having a full-on dinner because you can't stop ordering "one more thing." Food: Legit. Everything we tried was solid, but the wings were the standout for me -- the kind you keep reaching for even when you tell yourself you're good. Great flavor, cooked right, and they held their own against any wing spot that claims they're "known for wings." Whatever they're doing back there, keep doing that. Service / experience: This is where they really won. Trent was our guy tonight and I can't say enough about him. Manager supreme is the right title -- he wasn't just checking boxes, he was running the whole experience. He served, suggested, kept the pacing perfect, and made it feel effortless while still being locked in the entire time. You can tell when someone actually cares that your night is going well, and Trent is that dude. Major asset to this business and the kind of manager that turns first-time visits into "we're coming back next week." Atmosphere was exactly what you want for Manhattan Beach happy hour: lively, comfortable, easy to settle in, and perfect for a group. We came to try the menu and ended up staying for the vibe. Only complaint -- and it's not even on them, it's on the "beach cities trying to save the world one soggy sip at a time" vibe -- the paper straws. I swear those things last 11 minutes before they turn into a wet napkin. Let me live, Rockerfellas Bottom line: If you want a happy hour that actually delivers, Rockerfellas is it. Bring friends, come hungry, and if you get Trent taking care of you? You're in elite hands. We'll be back.

If I can tack on a 1/2 star or 1/2 point above, I would. And the only reason WHY I am not giving a…read morefull 5-star rating is because of The Rockefeller's cockamamie rule of "yes, we're dog friendly" but "you can't have your dog or your party block the sidewalk" and "we're not allowed to have the chairs out to here (indicating a particular distance on the sidewalk)", etcetera, etcetera. GIve me a break. JUST SAY that The Rockefeller isn't dog-friendly and be done with it, ok? By the way, this incident WAS on Mother's Day 2026, so the staff was particularly overwhelmed. . . so there's that timing. On a previous time my husband and I had brunch here about 4-5 months ago, we DID take our little doggie without any issue. So the staff either has to get their stories straight for next time or just say that The Rockefeller IS dog-friendly, BUT ONLY for a two- or one-person party. Other than that, The Rockefeller's Chilaquiles are phenomenal. It was flavorful and filling. Also, the Bacon & Eggs (two eggs, any style) -- which I had my eggs over-easy -- were outstanding. Bottom-line: Don't bring your dog. It's just too complicated for The Rockefeller to handle. Leave your dog at home.
