Hello Everyone,…read more My name is Jimmy and I am proud to say that I work for Retriever Towing. I would like to take a few moments to clarify and rectify the perception of this very misunderstood and under-appreciated industry. The reason we patrol tow is the same reason police officers patrol their communities. We are here to serve and protect. The following is an open invitation to discuss what Retriever does and why we do it. It is the law to keep fire lanes clear as well as necessary to provide access for the other first responders and we provide that access. Handicapped spots are for people like my friend Mike that lost his legs in Desert Storm. They are NOT for people that don't want to take 2 minutes to find a parking spot at the mall. Tenant parking spots are established so when your loved ones get home late, they are not forced to park on a street that is poorly lit and put themselves in a possibly dangerous situation, all because of the inconsiderate behavior when someone else parks in the spot they PAY for. If you have ever come out to leave and someone is double-parked behind you, you will fully understand why we tow for double-parked violations. When you are in traffic on the highway and it is backed up for miles, we are the ones clearing the highway, putting our own lives on the line to get traffic moving again so that you may go on with your day. I, as a patrol tower, have been thanked for many things, but one example that sticks out is keeping the visitor parking at one of our apartment buildings clear so that a grandmother could have her granddaughter come over and start visiting again. (One person had 5 cars they were storing in visitor parking, on this property alone) We use permits on some of our properties that require an added layer of protection, and to give properties a better understanding of their parking needs. Now on a personal note, even though the news, social media, and many people in our community do not understand OR do not want to understand why we do what we do, we still wake up morning, noon or night, rain sleet or snow, put our uniform on and serve our community with pride and pleasure. Ironic story, I towed someone 8 months ago and when she came to get her truck; we had a real conversation about what we do and why we do it and now she is one of our best patrol towers, and the Portland metro area should be very proud that she is out there happily serving her community. She tells me all the time, "IM SO HAPPY YOU TOWED ME!!". 6 drivers and a dispatcher have all been towed by me and either work or worked here because once you see the value in what we do it's almost impossible not to get involved. Thank you so much for your time if you read this, and if at any time in the future you would like to become an unsung hero please email me at retrieverpatrol@gmail.com and we can take the first step together on your journey with Retriever.

Avoid at all cost. Have an Oregon judgement against them for unlawful conversion which they've…read morespent months trying to avoid. The court can effect service but when it comes to making good on their obligations they disappear. Those not in the know: unlawful conversion is an overly formal way of saying theft. They'll argue with me in email trying to rehash a case that was decided against them meaning they know they're legally liable to compensate me for my vehicle but accountability appears to be a foreign concept for this company. Save yourself a headache and just take your business elsewhere.
