My wife and mother in law wanted to take me out for Veterans Day. I'm so glad we went. Morgan was our server and her recommendations were spot on. She took great care of us, the service was superb. I had the pork chop, amazing. Wife had the sirloin and mother in law had the rib eye. Their food was also amazing. This is a great place to eat and to be treated well. Really the very best. For the past two years we've stopped at Town 220 as we passed through Madison on our way to Athens -- first for lunch then for dinner. Both times our meals have been exceptional! Our most recent dinner was fabulous. The steak, grouper, tilapia and crab ravioli were delicious. The crime brûlée and flourless chocolate cake topped off a wonderful meal. The staff was most courteous too! We will most certainly return when we travel through Madison again! read more

If you like healthy fresh food, this is a great pick. The service was great, not anything at all like the stereotypes you'll see floating around southern yelp reviews. Number one recommendation is stuffed peppers (goat cheese, feta, and mozzarella), atop a delicious tomato, basil sauce - must try! Extensive wine and cocktail menu. Went later in the evening on a busy weekend. Only a few tables seated and service was friendly and excellent. We were seated in a corner which is more intimate yet we could still enjoy the warehouse atmosphere. Escargot appetizer was flavorful. Salmon main course was wonderful and vegetable side dishes were great. Date had chicken with the sauce on the side and he ate every last bite. Had lunch this afternoon with Stephan as server. We were there for my daughter's birthday and Stephan couldn't have been more less interested in serving us. We selected the tilapia, crab cakes and steak for lunch. The food was mediocre but we were hungry. Not at all worth the price charged for the meal. The crab cakes weren't seared, they were overdone and lacking in flavor. We all asked for tea and were given unsweet tea with no offer of sugar or sweetener. Overall a pretty poor experience and I would not recommend. read more

This has been my favorite restaurant in the area for many years, but after tonight, it will be a long time before I visit again. We have been dining here for over 10 years, and never once were we charged for substituting a vegetable on the plate. Tonight my husband asked to substitute mashed potatoes on his steak pommes frites order. The waiter said no problem. When our bill came, we had been charged $4.95 for the mashed potatoes, with no adjustment for the fries. In our many years coming here, we have never been charged for a substitution of the same item prepared in a different manner. When the waiter was questioned, he said "the menu says no substitutions" and the chef/owner backed him on this. We should definitely have been informed when ordering and asking for the substitution that we would be charged full price for the side of mashed potatoes, but the waiter made no mention of this. Very poor waiter, in my opinion, who does not inform his customer of something like this when they ask to make the substitution. I have sent many of my friends to this restaurant who had never heard of it, but definitely will not be recommending it in the future. It was not a huge price, but it seems to me that it is gouging customers. read more

For the most part I have nothing but raves for this place. The food was excellent, so good we ate there twice in one day. We have never done that before. The service was superb. The atmosphere was elegant. I will place in the middle here my critiques. At lunch, we had an apple salad that had a grilled chicken slightly overcooked and dry. At dinner, we found out our waiter had not tried any of the specials. So with that being said, be careful if you are going to pound the chicken so thin that you don't over cook it. Also at the beginning of each service, if you are bringing out specials, make a half portion and all the wait staff needs to try it. How can you sell something when you don't know what it is? We were completely impressed with each meal. Each plate had fresh ingredients and melted in your mouth. I was completely impressed by the greeter after she seated us and was clearing the unneeded services, she asked about our day and if we have visited any of the rest of the town. She made us feel completely at home. Both of our waiters we great! They constantly made sure we were completely satisfied. I have to say I can't wait for our next visit to Madison! read more

Took 5 min for hostess to greet us. No sign saying to wait or help yourself. Ambiance needs some detailed cleaning. App bread good. Had the crab cake sandwich as a special. Let me first say that the food was excellent and the atmosphere was as well. With that being said I was a little dismayed that the service was very slow, but being in the industry I could see that the manager had understaffed from some odd reason even though it was graduation, prom and Mother's Day weekend. I counted over 6 tables that our server was trying to service, with no other help I might add but there was no way she could keep up. I was also surprised that a simple request: I asked for a substitution of creamed spinach instead of fresh vegetables( I received roasted potatoes and as far as know most potatoes were harvested quite some time ago) and that really shocked me with the economy in it's current state, I would never tell a patron no unless it was completely absurd. The food as I said was excellent, I asked for my pork chop medium, and it came out a little over that but it was still moist and perfectly seasoned. I would recommend it to anyone. My wife had the snapper with watermelon and jalapeno salsa and it was cooked perfectly as well. I am not a huge seafood person, but I would have thoroughly enjoyed this as my main course. We will come back, but will wait for a slower evening. Also I will add they have some strange soup and salad substitution policy, some they charge for and some they don't. We went to this restaurant while back,service was great but manager walks around all mad looking,looks like manager u will see in chain restaurants,she smiles every once in a while,well the dinner ,we started with mussels,broth is really good but they are absolutely the smallest mussels i have ever seen or eaten in my life and over cooked.their rack of lamb ,chewy, of course i expect that from lamb but right seasoning and marinating kinda takes care of it, some kinda crust i dont remember comes with and some kinda mint sauce and rosemary mash i think. u wont taste lamb, sauce is so overwheelming.tilapia was really good ,restaurant looks and design really good ,i wish food would be better because patio would be really nice to hang out .but i dont think i would go back. read more

Fantastic find! I was in Madison for a conference and decided to try Town 220. There were a variety of items on the menu and several specials that sounded great. I chose the oyster appetizer, Blackened Ahi Tuna, and Berries and Creme Napoleon; all of my selections were delicious! My friend ordered the Salmon and said that it was excellent. I would definitely recommend Town 220 and will come here again if I am in the area. read more

We were really happy with our meal. My friend and I are world travelers and foodies (I've lived in Chicago, London, Tokyo, Seoul, etc). We found this place on a drive to eastern GA for an event, and like it so much that we stopped by on the return trip as well. First time: she had the chicken livers (a favorite since childhood) and she loved it. I had the ciaoppino -- it was also very good. 2nd time we had her hubby in tow, and this time she had a salmon tartar dish special (she loved it), I had the wild mushroom soup and she had daily special, a cheese beer soup (that tasted exactly like Welsh Rarebit, one of my favorite dishes in the world)... we enjoyed both of them so much that ordered 2nd servings to go. For my meal I had the appetizer special (pork cheeks -- I have nothing to compare it to having never had cheeks before, but it seemed good) and her hubby had the lamb which was amazing. We have now all added this place as a "must stop" -- my friend and her husband live up by Chattanooga and regularly have to drive to Aiken Ga for business. read more

The drive takes us about an hour so we don't go as much as we would but it is always good. Very clean, classy, friendly and delicious.
