Me being a native to this area, it's been a treat to see and experience the growth of this restaurant. Americana had a humble beginning as "just another dinner", but over the years, they've expanded and upgraded. The decor is nice and somewhat upscale. And of course, this place is huge! There's multiple dining areas and a huge covered patio. I've been to Americana more times than I can count and they have always been consistent with their food and service. Fast forward to now and though not needed, the quality and menu has changed to offer a more high-end experience. But the important thing is with all the changes that they've undergone, they've still managed to keep the prices reasonable. Friend booked this place for a large birthday brunch. There were around 16 of us total, and they were definitely able to accommodate for every one. I got a forest omelette. The omelette was a bit dry, and it wasn't really my favorite. The sausage was nice and snappy though. One of my friends got the eggs Benedict which she thought was alright. Desserts were shared around the table: carrot cake, cannolis and blueberry pie. The taste was a bit artificial and each dessert was very dry. Despite having a large party, the dessert was not finished. I like how there's plenty of parking in the back. I believe this diner has been open for quite some time. I'm not sure if it's bc when we came here it was a holiday weekend and it was super busy, but everything to me just was a bit subpar. read more

I've been to Americana more times than I count through its many transitions from full-fledged diner to it's current bistro-restaurant environment. The renovations are beautiful and the outdoor dining deck is nice (despite the fact, you are in a parking lot.) I've been here for breakfast, Sunday brunch, happy hour, and dinner. The service has always been professional and efficient. Good: Overall this is still a breakfast spot for us. The omelettes, eggs Benedict, huevos ranchero, and avocado toast are all great. We've had the Sunday Brunch, which priced at $25 per person, is fairly reasonable for the food they give you. I just wish that coffee or tea was included in that price. Their French Press coffee is good, but strong. The tea is above average with loose leaf tea steeped in individual kettles. Meh: A few or our trips have been for Happy Hour. Their "Happy Hour", honestly, does not have much of a Happy Hour Menu or prices you would associate with Happy Hour. Two apps and two drinks cost a little over $30 - 40. I find the dinner menu priced too high for the location and was underwhelmed with my entree. Overall, Americana offers a great vibe in a nice atmosphere. read more

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate people in our party! It's a pretty big establishment with a decent amount of space. It looked like they had a small room to host events. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The menu had a nice assortment of items. Our server was accurate and prompt but totally deadpan. Our drinks (pear-licious martini and appletini) were good but filled so full that there was spillage on the bottom of the glass when they were served. I had the goat cheese poppers which were delicious, as was the apple salad that accompanied them. I also had a side - apples Brussels sprouts, butternut squash & celery root - a fabulous combination that I thoroughly enjoyed. The others in my party had a burger (too well done but ok) and rare seared tuna (yummy) with the same veggie side. For dessert, we tried 3: warm chocolate chip cookies (very good), baklava (ok), and espresso creme brûlée (good). We had espresso and coffee as well - which were both accompanied by biscotti which went home for a morning snack. Our reservation was 7p on a Thursday near Christmas. The place was packed with lots of larger parties and what appeared to be a holiday party. So it was LOUD and hard to hear each other speak. As the crowd thinned out, it got much better. read more

We had a gap in our schedule and stopped for breakfast, and the omelets were so light and fluffy it was almost unreal. Everything tasted fresh. The corned beef hash, recommended by our waiter, was easily the best I've had in three decades. It was so good, we drove back for dinner the same night. Dinner sealed the deal. Sean, our server, was warm and attentive and offered us their house-baked bread. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful and well decorated, the vibe is really nice and everyone is very welcoming. My husband has a serious allium allergy, no onion or garlic, and the kitchen didn't just accommodate, they excelled. We had the cheese tray, branzino, and a filet mignon. That filet was incredible, and the mashed potatoes were honestly the best I've ever had, sorry Grandma. The staff, from breakfast to dinner, were polished and professional, but still genuinely friendly. This team takes food allergies seriously without sacrificing flavor, which is rare. Was the food bad? No. Was it good? Also, no. I met friends here for dinner. I ordered bone broth with a matzo ball, rigatoni bolognese, and espresso crème brûlée. The broth and matzo ball had no seasoning. I had to heavily salt and pepper my food to make a slight dent. On the other hand, the only seasoning that was used in the bolognese sauce was salt- a lot of it. The pasta was also a little overcooked. The dessert was the best part, though the biscotti served with it had an odd flavor. The way that food is delivered- in a tiered tray (think afternoon tea) by someone who is not your waiter- was different. When we asked for bread, a cold 10-inch hunk of Italian bread was served three dime-sized scoops of butter with copious flakes of sea salt. They seem to be going for atmosphere over food, so if that's your scene, this place may be for you. Personally, I prefer a spot with good food and a less pretentious vibe. read more

So my experience here wasn't "perfect," but I do see them having five star potential and regardless, the place is fantastic. The onion soup (I'm a huge onion soup snob and make my own I'm the winter) was very good, and a bit different than the average. I also ordered a Lobster Roll, Qns I'm grateful that the waitress told me that it's small, 'cuz it's really tiny. But I wasn't starving, so I went along with it... but glad she prepared me for that. It's on a really soft, nice bread, too. My only issue with the Lobster Roll was that they didn't really cut up the lobster well. I had about 2 perfect bites, but on my 3rd, the rest of the lobster came out of the roll! It was one awesome bite, but I had the rest of the bread alone. Thankfully, the bread is good. But this is an easy fix if they're interested in instructing their cooks to cut up that lobster better. I had the green Rishi iced tea, which had a nice flavor to it and was just a bit sweet. The bathroom was clean, fully functional, and they even had this nifty attachment on the bottom of the door so that you could open the door to leave using your foot! I took my parents here for the Father's Day brunch, but they didn't check me in properly for my OpenTable reservation. Now OpenTable is harassing me to prove I was there. I didn't save my receipt, and they insist on a bank statement showing the time of the charge, which my credit card does not offer. Since when do diners have to justify that they ate a meal? If this restaurant uses a service like OpenTable, they need to train their staff to use it properly to avoid issues like this. read more

Staff said the owner is building a hotel next door. When the diner changed hands the menu kept getting more interesting. I haven't been here in years but the food was exceptional. The beet salad was spectacular with tzatziki-like sauce and garnished with pistachios. My entree was the spicy pasta and veggies and it was just right. The carnivore had a burger and fries and my dessert--apple crisp a la mode. My review only speaks on the food. The staff were lovely and the decor, while a bit bland, have no effect on my review. I tried the guacamole entree, the Reuben sandwich, and the seared tuna. The menu itself, is best described as "beige" - inoffensive yet uninterewting. The guacamole was very bland. They included a tiny, tiny lime wedge and a fraction of a spoonful of salt. It needed both to have a semblance of flavor, so I think they knew that. 2/10. The Reuben filling was tasty. For some reason they gave me 8 fries assembled like Lincoln logs so I wouldn't tell they only gave me 8, soggy, limp, unflavored, and oil soaked poor examples of fries. Arguably some of the worst fries I've ever eaten, and it looks like they were seasoned from across the room. It was either a ton in one section of a single fry, or nothing. The Reuben itself - an oily mess to the point it was ruined. It's hard to tell from the picture, but it felt more deep fried than it was toasted. The bread was oil soaked, the sauerkraut felt canned, the meat was good, but it felt like I could wring it out with how much oil was in it. I needed extra napkins to deal with it. 2/10. The tuna - tiny portion, dry (clearly frozen), underseasoned, and just genuinely bad. 0/10. I remember when this was a diner. It should've stayed a diner because this is pizazz sold at exorbitant prices but basically serving garbage. We ordered 2 of the lunch specials, and my daughter ordered the chicken sandwich. My biggest shock was when the sandwiches came and they literally only gave you 9 French fries. NINE! For $25 I would expect more than 9 fries! Also while dining the place was loaded with flies. The bartender was actively killing flies with an electric fly swatter while we ate. I was seated right away, and my server, Stefanos, started things off perfectly with a flawless Manhattan made with a fine Bourbon. I began with the shrimp and oyster mini tower. The shrimp were cooked to perfection--they had that satisfying "pop" when bitten into. The cocktail sauce, made with fresh horseradish, was outstanding. The oysters were fresh and paired beautifully with a champagne sauce that was fantastic. For dinner, I ordered the double-cut wood-fired lamb chops, medium. They arrived cooked exactly as ordered and were accompanied by lemon potatoes, green beans, and an olive tapenade. It was easily one of the top ten meals I've had this year. The restaurant's fireplaces give the dining room a warm, comfortable feel, adding to the high-quality ambiance. The staff were attentive across the board--a waiter who wasn't even assigned to me noticed my empty plate and cleared it without hesitation. Though I was full, I couldn't resist dessert: the espresso crème brûlée, served with two small homemade hazelnut biscuits. It was the perfect finale--the proverbial icing on the cake. 1 Star Super pretentious and overly dramatic experience. Upon arriving at a restaurant that was barely 50% full, we were asked if we had a reservation. The host then made a show of asking the manager if we could be seated, as if it were some exclusive privilege. Once seated, we were given a tiny booth directly in the high-traffic path of the kitchen. When we politely asked to be relocated, we were curtly told "no." The worst food I've ever had at a "fancy" place. I never write reviews but this was so bad it needs to have one. The food was awful. No flavor. No seasoning. I could have cooked the food way better myself. Waitress didn't even ask us how it was going. Vday menu was a joke and they're lying to customers. On their website it's listed at $79 per person I got charged $94 per person because of filet mingno", What a scam. It wasn't even real steak. I got the "filet mignon" which was more like roast beef or a pork tenderloin. Whatever the hell it was it wasn't a steak. And it tasted like cardboard. The dessert thy clearly just took an old one from the fridge, the wafer on top was soggy and bendable. They actually gave the nerve to charge people money for this garbage. Gordon Ramsey would have burned this place to the ground. Mac and cheese was more milk than cheese and tasted like paper. Back again, this time for the Thanksgiving buffet. Quick update it was great service, seating and well prepared food, lots of options with some creative substitutions. And the $25 return gift certificate was a really nice touch. We were seat across from the front door and did experience a bit of cold wind as groups came in and out. If we do this again I'd opt for alternate seating. I really would have enjoyed standard stuffing. Desserts were tasty and while their size allowed for sampling more variety; they were more like boxed assorted candy chocolates than a $60 buffet option. Lastly we arrived just before 1pm so the buffet line was reasonably quick, 5-10 min. By 1:30-1:45 the line seemed annoyingly long. Curious I timed it to about 15 minutes for the last person to enter and exit the buffet area. So really not unreasonable but .... (for management) that's 15 minutes per person, and if 2 trips, that's 30 minutes before a dessert round that patrons are standing not eating, holding a table. Im sure there are some ways the buffet line(s) could be streamlined. Any hoo "food" for though as they say. Overall nice job and an enjoy holiday meal. read more
