On the positive side, the air conditioner worked well; the breakfast area was clean and many appetizing choices were offered. Also, parking was free and ample; the king bed was comfortable. On the not so positive side: the room had some visible cracks that were not visually appealing; the toilet paper roll kept falling off because the paper holder needed repair and adjustment. Most significantly, My son used the sofa, however he didn't sleep well because a bar under the thin, wire-spring mattress, kept pressing on his back. The front desk lady was very rude and hung up on me. I was simply trying to book a reservation. The GM listened when I called back, but wow.

Looked good but then reality struck. Our room was not what we reserved. Then when I told her she sent me to another room. That room had not been cleaned from previous guests. She want to argue about it saying it wasn't her fault and told me there were no other rooms. She'd have to clean that one. Finally when I threatened to contact the district manager or go to Hilton she found me a clean room. The room was fine but would definitely not stay there again. We didn't receive an apology for the problem. The front desk receptionist was probably 16 and was no equipped to handle these issues. read more

Not great. The staff was friendly and helpful enough, but you spend most of your time in the room and ours was subpar. There was a dirty sock on the floor when we arrived in our room, there was hair from the previous guests on our towels, the front door would not easily close because one of the hinges was broken, and there was a gross stain on the ceiling (see picture). We were supposed to stay for four days, but after the first night, we left and stayed somewhere else even though we had to pay for a night we didn't use (we missed the check out cutoff). read more

Amazingly friendly staff. Great rates for two bedroom suites. Full kitchen with small oven and range, medium size fridge and decent sized freezer. Some of the items were not in the best condition (the coffee pot top was broken and melted and the towel holder was broken) but I am sure if it was such a big deal to you they would replace it with zero complaints. Breakfast was an ala cart with fancier pre-made bagel sandwiches and individually wrapped quiches along with the usual all you can eat breakfast fare. After our very rough stay in San Antonio this was a welcome reprieve and recovery spot on the way back to Dallas. read more

I was disappointed in this hotel. It had a smell in the room that would not go away. The bathroom was poorly caulked in the shower with moldy residue and various hairs clinging to surfaces all over the bathroom. I left towels on the floor and they did not replace them. The sign says leave towels you want replaced on the floor. I went to the front desk and was told they only replace them if it's cleaning day... This was supposed to be a suite but it was so crowded it was a worked over room with counters added in to say it has kitchen space. Overall i disappointed in Marriott properties. They used to be top notch. Now they are going down in all levels of the hotels they have. Like most things nowadays, they could care less if you are happy or not. It will catch up with them. I was loyal to Marriott properties for over 30 years. I'm about to change. read more

Once someone finally checked me in (20 minutes later) she was rude. Room is small and it was disgusting. FIRST of all, I have been booking and staying at this specific Townplace Suites for state cross country and track meets for YEARS, and have NEVER had an issue like this. I booked 4 rooms, specifically for the needs of my team and coaches, on March 26th for a one night stay May 3-4. I PREPAID for a 2 bedroom suite, reserved 2 more rooms with 2 queen beds to accommodate my team of 4 girls and 4 boys - PLUS their families and our coaches. I also booked a King for a coach. I verified my reservation weekly and checked in on the Bonvoy app the night before (May 2nd). Friday morning, the day of our arrival, Taylor, Director of Sales, called to inform me that my reservation was being canceled and they needed to move my 4 reservations to another property because there were guests who didn't 'check out' and they needed my rooms. I responded very nicely with "I cannot move, I have families coming in who are staying at the property to be near their children" - I also pulled the titanium level, owners for 19 years card and asked her to please find other guests who could move. I told her that I had prepaid, already checked in, and could not move. She said OK. I arrived at the property a little before 3pm, just ahead of my teams first race at 5pm. The woman who checked us in gave us room keys - each coded with 2 br, 1 king, 2q, etc. When we got to the rooms, they were all 1 king bed studios. I came back down and was told that the GM had switched our rooms that morning and there was nothing she or anyone else could do. NO apology. She proceeded to call her manager who also did NOT apologize and actually blamed me for not switching hotels when Taylor called. He was rude and disrespectful and could not give me a reason as to why Carli changed our rooms. I again (admittedly, not so nicely) asked how this could happen if I 1. Made the reservation for specific rooms 5 weeks in advance. 2. Prepaid for one of the rooms, and 3. Checked in the night before. He had nothing to say, no apology, and again blamed me for not switching properties. If it had just been me and my coaching staff, that would have been tolerable, but it was 14 to 16 year old athletes who were unable to get good rest before competing in the state championship races that evening and the next day. It has been 3 days, and I have not had a single person reach out to me with any explanation. I feel just awful for my team and their families who had a terrible first experience at state. read more

We have stayed here twice. Last year we got a suite with a king and a pull out. So SMALL...when the pull out was open, there was no place to walk except on the beds. Vot a two bedroom suite this time. Plenty of room but, one mirror for a room that can sleep six is ridiculous. Maintenance is poor. Housekeeping is poor. Elevator broken. Dog poop on the lawn. Herd of buffalo in the room above us. Employees bring unruly kids to work. Christopher at the front desk is awesome...the only reason I gave it a second chance. There are several hotels to choose from in this immediate area. I will not give this one a third chance. read more

There are a lot of REALLY bad hotels in the Waco area, this is thankfully not one of them. This is a relatively new hotel, everything looks fresh and neat. All the people working at the hotel was very friendly to us the whole time. The room was large enough and had a kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and everything else that you would expect in a similar hotel. They accept pets at this hotel which I think is a huge plus. The hotel breakfast was fairly good. They have pancakes, fried pork, eggs, cereal, bread, muffins and similar. Their coffee was quite good as well. There are several restaurants right next to the hotel and it's fairly close to the highway but not so close that you get annoyed by the sound either. read more

Management must have changed This used to be our "go to place"for staying in Waco but front desk was unfriendly than ever. The gentleman that was the manager here was so nice; assume he is gone now. The employees in the front lobby are very helpful, professional, and polite thus the second star. The room that my wife and I stayed in wasn't as clean as you would come to expect. My biggest complaint is that the cleaning crew came in our room at some point during the day and half way made our bed and apparently never came back or just decided not to finish cleaning the room or bathroom. None of the trash was emptied and of coarse there were no new towels, no vacuuming etc etc etc... sorry to say that this is the first Marriott that we've visited that I will not be returning too. read more

If I could give zero Stars I could The cleaning of the room is not really thorough. And don't sit in your car cause the police will be called and accuse you of casing the place which has a whopping 6 cars in front of the hotel and your sitting in a work vehicle that has your company name plastered all over the vehicle. I've been here for 4 nights and I was supposed to be here another 7 nights I canceled the remaining time and I will find another place. Nobody would case a place in there work vehicle. Goods: Great place with that new car smell (good smell). A nights stay includes breakfast and wi-fi, bonus! Full kitchen and soft linens, towels were very soft! The staff was very kind with us. Bads: Loud hall doors, very dusty kitchen shelves where drink ware is stored, microwave didn't work unless I held the handle closed and the kitchen takes up 1/3 the entire room. Pull out bed placements are poorly planned where you can't get out of either bad on one side when in use. We're fairly easy going, so most of the bads didn't bother us, just thought it was poorly planned. read more

My husband and I stayed here for 12 nights after the sale of our home, while waiting to move into our new one. They do accept pets, which we thought we might need but turned out we did not. I will start with the staff: The staff could not have been more helpful, gracious, accommodating and caring. We were so pleased with our treatment there. I would highly recommend TownePlace for that reason alone. The rooms were perfect for what we needed. It had a dishwasher, refrigerator, dishes, coffee maker and a microwave. Their breakfast was probably one of the best hotels breakfasts we have enjoyed, as well. There is also a laundry room downstairs. Everything was clean and tidy. I wish I had taken pictures of our room, prior to checking out. We had absolutely zero complaints or issues. read more

Friendly staff at check in. Its technically Hewitt, so a bit outside of Waco so I think thats a bit false to put on their online ad. Its new & secluded. Like a small apt. 2 restaurants close by which was handy. My card stopped working 2nd day, so had to go to front. Asked to have room cleaned & they just did a very general cleaning. Did not give extra tp, etc. The room is not cheap, so I felt that was a bit cheap of them. Hated the coffee maker. If you need a secluded, kinda hidden hotel near Waco & u plan on staying 2 days or so its not bad. King size bed was comfy. read more

We came to Waco because our son had an interview at Baylor. The hotel is very convenient to the school. Jerrica was wonderful to us and very accommodating- we so appreciated all her help. The rooms (we had 2) were clean and very functional. I would highly recommend the hotel. Note (nothing to do with the hotel) - the construction in the area is ridiculous. I did not like this place. You better like dogs and not be allergic to dog hair because dogs are everywhere... in the lobby, in the eating area, allowed in all the rooms. Took 45 minutes to check in. Needed a technician to hook me up to wifi. I heard the people above me walking and stomping and moving furniture around late at night and then super early in the morning. I live in a Marriott for two to three weeks every month due to business. I've experienced what Marriotts are known for. This place is brand new and looks incredible. Everything is nice and clean and up to date. It's away from the city so it's quiet and has plenty of parking. Now, the rest is just I'm sure growing pains of a new hotel, but the staff is not your normal caring Marriott staff. Not sure if that is due to lack of training or just an air of superiority. TERRIBLE guest services! We stayed 2 nights and had very loud people above us night one. We requested to be moved to the top floor for night 2. They said they would block the room above us since they were only at 60% occupancy. Well the stomping started at 945pm. I called downstairs and the employee was rude and mentioned the other employee mentioned our situation but he just checked people in and since we are not "preferred" customers that there was nothing he could do. My husband and I stayed here over a week due to sell of our home and closing on the new home . The room was great and very comfortable. Loved the kitchen ! I want to Thank the manager Donna Holdbrook she made us feel welcomed and Logan at the front desk always asked me how I was doing and if there was anything she could do for me. You don't get this kind of service anywhere else! All the employees are wonderful and very personable ! As I was reading all the comments I hope that the ones that didn't give them much of a rating, will come back and give them another try. We just moved to Waco from California and had about a week of time before our stuff arrived to really move in & unpack. We hotel hopped for a few days and hands down this is the best we stayed in (Mariott/not Mariott) so we booked it for the rest of the time we needed a place to stay. The 2 Queen room with kitchenette makes you feel like you are in someone's guest house! pots, pans, real plates & silverware, even a dishwasher, it was perfect. All clean, and not smelly like bleach or new hotel at all. The staff has always been incredibly nice and breakfast is delicious. The TV is also equipped to sign in to Netfix & Hulu which helps to make it feel like home! If we ever have any reason to stay in a hotel in Waco again, it will be here. read more

Towne Place Marriot is nice enough and clean but it seems that some things have not been thought through. #1. ALL doors in the building are heavy and slam. #2. The microwave doesn't work. I got really frustrated trying to get it going. I gave up, although my husband later told me that if I held the door closed it would work. ?!?! -#3. The room is really small for 4 people. With the sofa bed pulled out, my husband had to crawl across the bed to get to the restroom. It was simple things like these that became annoying. For 1-2 people, this would work just fine but because of the layout, it was difficult with more people. On a really positive note, the front desk staff is beyond nice. ** From what I gather, and by the looks of things, this is a new hotel. I think they haven't gotten the kinks smoothed out. read more

After much wasted time, I finally just created my own personal hotspot... And I expected it to be much nicer as it is a Marriott company.
