    Home made root beer soda!
    Dulcie J.

The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. Our server was friendly, helpful and very attentive. Food service was fast. All of the food was home made, tasted amazing and was delicious. We will absolutely be back. Even their soda was home made!

Rude and unprofessional staff, boring food. Don't waste your time - try one of the other places in town.

Bland food. Not great for takeout as it gets soggy. Service was fine. Seems dark and dingy.

Great rustic restaurant from back in the day. Good food, good people right in the heart of downtown Townsend.

The servings are super generous, their homemade potato chips are to die for, and the gluten free bread is the best I've had anywhere. They even offer a discount for First Responders, which makes me love them even more. It's a great place to sit and have a really delicious bite to eat. Go. You won't be disappointed!

So I walked…read moreinto the restaurant on Friday at 4:25pm (after ordering on Thursday for 430pm) and the owner and another person talked for about 10+ minutes before acknowledging I was even there. This felt very unusual/uncomfortable as not even a quick look toward me to let me know I was seen etc. but even if this was odd, I finally received my haddock plate to go and I have to say I don't think the haddock was fresh as it was a chewy like frozen fish and not flakey like fresh or it was way over cooked. Too bad as I was really looking forward to a fish plate. I give three stars being generous and I'm not trying to ruin the restaurant as i hear the sandwiches are good. I do recommend Fresh Pond Seafood in Arlington ( i know a big difference in location but I visit this place every Tuesday on my way back from Encore and it is excellent, also Kimballs Farms in Westford and Lancaster also have amazing fresh fried haddock and seafood plates! Sorry based on my one-time experience, I can't recommend Sweet and Salty for fried Haddock plates

If you're looking for upscale boutique sandwiches, curated charcuterie boards, and a cozy atmosphere with owners who truly care, this is the place to go. My family and I discovered them a couple of years ago, tucked under the West Acton Village building, and they've quickly become our favorite sandwich shop and gourmet cheese market. My son, who is in college always makes a point to get their sandwiches when he is back home. Their sandwiches are upscale, boutique creations. Our family favorite is the Ploughman's Lunch: rosemary ham, mango chutney, pickled red onion, cheddar, and lemony arugula on a Portuguese roll. It's the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and fresh. Our second go-to is the Pig and Fig, which is just as delicious. They also have gluten free bread available. In addition to the sandwiches, their cozy shop sells cheeses (if you love blue cheese you have got to try Rogue River!!), charcuterie, natural wines, craft beer, and carefully curated accompaniments like jams and chutneys. I've gifted their chic napkins and artisanal jams many times, and they always make the perfect host or hostess gift. They even carry unique finds like Bret's goat cheese and chili pepper potato chips, which I can't find anywhere else! On Fridays, they even have free wine tastings, which are such a fun way to discover new bottles. The owners Dawn and Tamara (aka Eve and Murray) are incredibly friendly and passionate about what they do. You can tell they put thought into every cheese, wine, and gift item they bring into the shop!

Was looking for a snack so decided to split a sandwich. Inside was cute little market with lots of items to build a charcuterie board. No seating indoors but some tables and chairs outside. My friend and I got the South-West Acton. It took about 10-15 minutes to be made. I loved everything about this sandwich! It was delicious! The bread was crispy. The turkey was delicious along with the cheese and mayo. So yummy! I do think this sandwich was a little small for $16. But overall so good and the other sandwiches sounded good too.

The lot was small but many people were coming in and out so we didn't have to wait long to get a parking spot or outdoor seating. There are two shops: the deli and market with different vibes and items inside. The market is a quick shop with some snacks, drinks, coffee, and knickknacks. The deli is where the hot/cooked foods are at with some other specialty foods. The food was overall ok, nothing noteworthy. The main attraction is their Mac and cheese that had been circulating my IG feed. Don't think it's life changing but the shops have curated selections of local goods that are reasonable priced to get some last minute treats. Pass on the general tso(?) and the potstickers in my opinion unless you're really craving it. The desserts looked amazing and would definitely get one next time

We were able to get a spot in front with no issue, but I imagine that this was because it was a week day. We chose the Mac and cheese and the maple pulled pork. Both were worth the hype in my opinion. The mac and cheese was super creamy and paired well with the tender pulled pork. The baked goods were nothing to write home about. Maybe we just chose the wrong items? We tried: Oatmeal cookie - good, but not amazing. Chocolate chunk/ peanut butter cookie - stale as heck and basically inedible. I always am leery of saran wrapped cookies that are out on display because its impossible to know if there are actually fresh. The giant stacks of cookies were too enticing to pass up on. The chocolate cookie we purchased was definitely not fresh at all. $3.29 down the tubes - lesson on saran wrapped cookies learned (again). Carrot cake whoopie pie and original whoopie pie - both tasty, but the cake was too thick for my personal liking. We sat in the small outdoor seating area to eat. This was a nice little reprieve from the car ride.
