Took my Scion to be serviced here today. I have Toyota Care and this was to be my last complimentary service, from what I was told. With the purchase of a new Toyota/Scion you have what's called Toyota Care, where you get 5 free services. (Or what it's supposed to be). I had called Scion directly to ascertain I had a service left and I called the service department to again make sure. I bought my car on the opposite coast and just recently moved back to this coast. Of course when I got there, there was no record that this was to be the case. The exact reason I call because who wants to be screwed over? Well long story short, the service advisor, Ms Connie Chan, is a gift from the car gods. She is the reason I'll be returning there. She made sure I was taken care of and that I got my final free service. Connie is fantastic and makes you feel at ease, which for me, isn't easy. The one negative thing I had to say, which I won't deduct a star for, but I will put here. When Connie was talking with the manager they did it extremely close to where I was sitting, so I heard every word. Connie was on point, explaining everything, leaving no details out. He was less than nice and was rather rude in questioning the fact that I bought the car on the east coast, had a service done in another state and was now here? First of all, yes, people move. A lot. Sometimes for work, education, etc. I left the east coast after Hurricane Matthew and just moved back fo CA in May after spending some time in Nevada. That really wasn't for you to judge. That made me feel less than welcomed and almost made me want to write just that and leave no stars. But alas, Ms Chan, was so exceptional at her job and everyone else was so nice and professional that I'll leave you 5 Stars. Thanks Connie for earning a new customer for life. read more

**Update** Management has done a great job of trying to make things up to me for breaking my key. My broken key has been fixed and they even gave me a back up key. Kevin also took me into the shop so I can look underneath my car to see what's going on. It's true that my car axles are starting to leak at the inside boots. My water pump also has a baby leak but the fact remains that the service advisor made both items seem more urgent than they actually are. Looking forward to the new system they are working on implementing that will give us a better idea of how urgent things actually are. Plus they will be able to monitor leaks and how they are progressing this way they will not forget to mention at each inspection. They never brought up my tires which the new service advisor said "you should definitely get these changed out today. They are in really bad shape." He literally made it seem like they were slick with wires coming out. He was probably just trying to upsell me on some tires. My lightbulbs are easy enough and cheaper to change out myself. I drove across the country driving semi trucks. I know a thing or two about engines and tires so please don't judge a book by its cover guys. I don't look like a trucker but that doesn't change the fact that I was a professional driver for 20 years. I can do my own regular maintenance but I don't like getting dirty so I pay you guys to do it for me. After my experience today I would give 5 stars to Toyota @ Pasadena but the prices are still a bit high after comparing with local independent shops. For that I will deduct one star. My car has been running great so thier service is on point. Regular maintenance cost $190 that price didn't include a tire alignment. A local guy charges $60 for oil change and tire rotation for an extra $30 I can get them aligned. Over charge much Toyota? They broke my key and two light bulbs that were fine when I drove in were somehow broken after. The "advisor" said I needed new tires even though my tires are 1 year old. Last time I was there they said my water pump wouldn't last very long and my axles were leaking. I didn't get the repairs that would have cost over $2000 and this time some how magically those items were okay. They lie to try and upsell and even break stuff on your car. Last time I go here. We went looking for a Prius based on a Toyota rebate sale. The salesperson was very nice and knowledgeable, but the pricing was dodgy from the manager. Having worked in finance before, what they were likely doing was adding $5k onto the base price of the cars then giving the rebate...basically a bait and switch to pocket the Toyota sales money for themselves. If you understand how dealerships work, this isn't illegal or particularly shocking, but I'm not buying from someone who is giving me a discount with one hand while reaching in my back pocket to steal my wallet with the other, lol. Toyota was offering its customers a discount on the old models...the dealer can either honor that or be upfront and say they don't participate in sales events. I did my research and found a 2017 Tacoma Crew cab 4WD here that was priced right for me. My husband and I came here hoping to see the truck and give it a test drive. We were there for a good 20 minutes looking at some trucks and no salesman came to offer us assistance. My brother and his wife then stopped by because they wanted to take a look at said truck as well. We walked around their lot some more, and still no one came to help. We finally went into the building where my brother went to ask the front desk for a salesman to assist us. I will give this place a five just for service. I came here a few weeks ago to see about trading in my car. For that part of the business, I wouldn't come back. It was basically, take it or leave it. You aren't worth our time. Also, they have that aggressive feeling during the sales process. I'm not a fan. With that said, I needed service today and decided to give it another try. My attendant was Dustin, he was super friendly and talkative. He got my car done within two hours. I think he was an excellent customer service and representative of what that place should be like. My only critique in this department was that they didn't wash my car. When I go to North Hollywood Toyota, my car is always washed to be spotless. That disappointed me. Maybe they were in a rush because of the holiday, but still. I will probably go back because it's just close to my house. Excellent Customer Service!! Above and beyond (which I have not seen with business lately in general) Bought a Prius C 2015 in May and it has a leak with the rear shocks already! Despite my irate behavior Mitch Seibert in the service department calmed me down, listened to my concerns took care of the situation and with all of that he was great with my 4yr old daughter who was impatiently waiting. Had an appointment. Came in because of some indicator lights. It took them 3 hours to figure out that car needed an oil change. 3 hours! No apology, no nothing. Just "that's Saturday for you", and that people without appointments were waiting until 4 pm - as if that's supposed to make me feel better. Most Toyota dealers are slow on service, but this place takes it to a new level. Still have to actually do the oil change which will take 30 minutes. I'm guessing it will be 1 hour. Follow up: The same indicator lights started going off again the same day after I left the dealership. I brought it back later, and they ran another diagnostic saying that it might be a gas evap problem. Not sure why they didn't find that out the first time. I also had to tell them that my hybrid battery probably needed replacing. They said they thought that could be the problem and quoted me $3000 for the replacement. I said "Sayonara!" I had a very negative and stressful experience here that turned me off of toyota almost completely. I love the brand, have been driving one for years. Very reliable and I couldn't imagine going back to American cars. Anyway I came in looking to *possibly* buy a car but was more into researching my options. I wanted to take a test drive and see if I even liked the car, then take a little time to think it over. My plan was to put a large down payment on a new vehicle and finance the rest, either through toyota or the bank. I've been saving for a down payment for a year, and had 10k to put down. ALOT of money for a middle class stiff like me to spend without considering all of my options. I ulitmatley wanted to test drive the vehicle and think it over before making such a big financial decision. Anyway I went in and was shown a few different cars by the sales man, who was friendly and personable enough. He then took me to the sales manager to crunch some numbers with me. It was then I realized I probably still needed to save a little more cash in order to have a smaller monthly payment, and even told them so. That maybe it would be better if I just came back in a few months. Instead they both sat me down and started throwing numbers at me trying to convince me it would be more cost effective to finance through toyota, even though I'd have to get full coverage insurance to do so. The finance manager said my insurance would probably only be about $120 a month. The salesman then kept throwing even more numbers at me, at that point I felt incredibly pressured to make a decision there and then, and even felt like I couldn't leave. I've never been in a situation where I felt trapped and couldn't leave, it was horrible. I've shopped at different dealerships in my lifetime and never felt as trapped and pressured. I finally got up and literally ran out of there like a bat out of hell. Had small panic attack in my car directly after, lol. Also, I called up my insurance carrier later on and asked them to verify how much a full coverage insurance policy would cost for the make and year of the vehicle I was looking at. They quoted me twice what the dealership said it would be. So it would not have been cost efficient at all to finance through toyota like they claimed, even though their interest rate was lower than that of my bank. I'm now reconsidering buying from toyota, and am considering looking elsewhere for my new car. Maybe I'll try Honda next week. read more

Overall I haven't had problems getting my car serviced here, but I don't plan on ever getting my car serviced here again, merely due to the inappropriate wait time it takes for them to do a simple oil change and inspection. I have come here at least three times for a basic car service and every single time I have waited at least three hours for my vehicle to be serviced. They even send you a link to check up on the car's status and every single time I have been here, the status NEVER changes so I never know what is going on with the status of my car. I frequently make appointments in the morning and this most recent visit, made an 11am appointment and waited around until 2p for my vehicle to be serviced with no updates on the progress. I have not had this problem at other Toyota dealerships and other Toyota locations are able to get me in and out in about an hour, maybe 90 minutes maximum. I'm not sure why it takes so long, if the staff is twiddling their thumbs in the back not doing their jobs, or whatnot. Know if you come here you're going to have a long wait time and prepare to spent a good chunk of your day waiting around. Since I had a package of 5 oil change services that I have been using for my car, I cannot speak to the price of the service since I had prepaid for them at a different Toyota location. read more

This place charges you for services, but doesn't do the work. Worse than your local shady mechanic shop! I brought my 2018 4Runner in for service and their recommended 1 year maintenance that includes some multi-point inspection. They told me it would take "a couple hours". 4 hours later and I'm still waiting, so i ask them what's taking so long and I look outside and see my vehicle still sitting in the parking lot! THEY HADNT EVEN STARTED IT YET!! Somehowwwww, they finish an oil change, tire rotation, and a multi-point inspection after I point out that my car hasn't even been started on yet. FIRST red flag was when they finished that quickly after just beginning work on my car. SECOND red flag was when they supposedly checked all my systems and filters and they were all "excellent". Knowing I had been off-roading, I knew there was no way my filters were "excellent", so I dragged the service advisor to my supposedly finished vehicle, pulled out my air filter, and dust poured out of it. He was shocked. THIRD red flag was when I noticed that my tires had NOT been rotated as one of them had a slight gash on the side from the aforementioned off-roading. I asked to speak with the manager, but he was apparently "busy in meetings all day". That was the final straw. I started a big commotion about what shady service people they all were loudly in the waiting room and look who magically made an appearance 2 mins later! Tony, the service manager! Long story "short", I basically made them redo all the supposed services they had done, including the oil change, while I stood there watching to make sure things were done. Tony, while very apologetic, could not offer a satisfactory reason why they lied to me about the supposed services that were done, besides the fact that supposedly I was rushing them. Lmao. Yea ok bud, when someone is there waiting, and you guys quote him a time of 2-3 hours, and after 4 you haven't even started on the car, that's not rushing you guys. TL;DR. You're better off taking your car to the local mechanic shop, cuz they'll be more honest about the work being done on your vehicle. Check your car with a keen eye after bringing it in to service here, as they lie, cheat, and steal your money! read more

This location has terrible service now that Tom Redd is gone. He is now managing the Glendora location. If you want to take your business to Glendora like we did (even though we live in Pasadena!!) I highly recommend the Glendora location. Tom moves mountains to help his clients. Meanwhile, I had to have my Dad's car towed to the Pasadena location, and I can't even reach someone on the phone to discuss that. AVOID this Dealership! Took my Minivan in for a warranty recall on the power sliding door getting stuck. Service Advisor said it will cost $140 to diagnose and that fee might go up. I asked to see the warranty and its clear that all parts are covered under the recall. By far the worst Toyota I have ever visited. I just moved to this city and wanted to get my car serviced at my local Toyota. Earlier this week, I called and spoke to a representative indicating that I wanted to schedule an appointment for an oil change and routine inspection that was included with my warranty. When I finally arrive to the appointment, I am greeted by Freddy Carabello at my car and explain to him that I want an oil change and routine inspection. When we get to his office space, he informs me that oil changes are no longer included in my warranty, which was completely fine. I had no problem paying for the oil change and told him I wanted it anyway. After two and half hours pass, I go to collect my car and I soon find out that no oil change was done on my car. I have just wasted my time for what? Now I need to reschedule another appointment and waste more time because of a service rider's poor listening skills. This dealership needs to invest more time on training staff on their communication skills rather than service turnover. read more

Any dealership expecting customers to pay any deal of money, yet alone $20K+ should provide each customer with common courtesy and exhibit professionalism. Unfortunately, my first 30 minutes with their staff was anything but that. Heed my warning! Like any serious car buyer, I previewed their inventory online prior to my arrival, scheduled an appointment with a sales consultant, confirmed my appointment and arrived on time. Upon my arrival, I walk past several different associates whom made DIRECT eye contact with me but otherwise did NOT acknowledge my existence. Strike 1. Upon finding the individual I had scheduled an appointment with, I was told that he was busy and that he needed to pair me with another salesman. I was then assigned to a guy (wouldn't call him a gentleman) named Young. Hesitantly, Young walked over and said, "you want to see the 4Runner?" NO introductions/handshakes/smiles/greetings. Really?!! I'm here to provide you with a sale and make you money, man! Strike 2. I brought these actions (or inactions) to their manager's attention, whom offered to assign me another salesman. However, by this time, I was offended beyond the point where saving $1000 would make up for their lack of professionalism. Luckily for me I did not let Toyota of Pasadena earn their Third strike. Service dept - bad customer service, and this is not the first time they talked down to me or tried to overcharge/ take advantage of me. The last time I visited was 7 yrs ago, and I thought they would have changed. I presented a coupon for my oil change. They said that my 2007 Camry requires "synthetic oil"; therefore, there was an up charge. I told them that I have never had a synthetic oil change. They said my car required it. I called my husband, who is a mechanic at Ford, to assist. We asked about the oil required, and explained that my car does not require synthetic oil. Then the manager changed his tune and said that my car requires an oil that is a "synthetic blend" so the coupon doesn't apply. I said forget it and left. I called West Covina Toyota, the car lot where I purchased the vehicle, and asked them about the type of oil my car requires. Charging us a $110 diagnosis fee just to pull a code that we already previously did on our own time and already mentioned to the service department beforehand, are you @#$%ing kidding me? We had some choice words for them but didn't feel like making a scene, so we just ate up the cost. This alone is the reason that if we have to absolutely go to a stealership to get major repair work done, we travel to the one in Glendora instead. $60 labor to install a headlight bulb (not include the price of the part). We are regular service customers since we moved here two years ago. I have *never* in 40 years of going to Toyota service in other cities been charged to change a light bulb because I was a regular customer. Also, a few months ago I had a big problem with them calling, after I had made transportation arrangements, to change the appointment to bring the car in -- several times! I can understand delays in getting the car repaired, but delays in being allowed to bring the car in? Wow. Update: The headlight part itself cost $25 at the dealer. Since I was there I went ahead and bought it. When I got home, I realized it was the wrong part! So now I have to go back again. Ugh. In the meantime, I found out that the same headlight -- name brand Sylvania -- costs $7 elsewhere! It took me less than 1 minute to install it. So...in summary the dealer wanted $85 to take one minute to install a $7 part. Again, wow. read more
