They had scattered shelves all over the store with comics, new and old, slabbed and raw. But any sort of quality control was sorely lacking. Also, kids. I don't have an issue with kids running around however when I'm trying to seriously work on my hobby the last thing I want is kids all over, let alone them (and others) pawing through everything. Yes it's a large store in a mall so that's fine in general, just not my thing. They really should change the name to Pops and a Few Comics. That'd be more appropriate. It's not a bad place by any means. It's just definitely not comic book-focused. And I am.

A simple hello goes a long way, but the only person who seemed to maybe work here was engrossed in his phone too much to even notice I was shopping. This store LOOKS well stocked, but it's almost entirely an illusion. It's mostly funko pops, which is fine, but they are dispersed throughout the store in a way that makes finding anything specific impossible. The rest of the figures are old peg warmers marked ilup significantly from msrp. Speaking of wildly crazy markups, the huge selection of back issues are marked "minimum of $3" regardless of the sticker price. The back issues are clearly a large collection of dollar bin books purchased, never sorted, and just flopped out onto the tables like raw meat. It is impossible to shop the back issues unless you have all day to sort through the completely and utterly random boxes. This store lacks any charm, or charisma and seems to be simply a way for the owners to price gouge dollar issues to people who don't know any better. Even the issues being sold at a premium are 3-4 dollars more expensive here than online. In addition, there is signage throughout the store that warns shoplifters that they will be sued for 100,000 dollars if they steal, which i understand is a deterrent for what is probably a real problem, but phrasing it like this reinforces the fact that this place is only looking for an extra buck on goods that are not worth the price, nor effort to steal. If they would actually expend a modicum of effort to clean up the back issues, and break away from the cycle of price gouging comics to kids in the mall, they'd have a decent location and stock, but in the state it is in now, you're better off going to a swap meet.

Buuuuuuut Miniso is the closest you'll find to a Sanrio in the valley with the nearest Sanrio being a couple hours away. Some things to note: Store is immaculately clean. Store is organized. Store is conveniently located. Staff is average. Pricing is average. Selection is on the meh side of things.

There was only one time when there was weird hyper "music", I couldn't stay in the store that long as it was giving me a headache & making my heart race in not good ways. Eeek...but it's usually cool... Lots of cute stuff from Japan. Facial products, makeup, body & home scents, travel items, housewares, snacks, portable chargers, bags, slippers, massage tools, seasonal decorations, notebooks & washi tapes, etc... I like going in there to browse & usually buy something... My faves have been the Hot Shrimp Chips, Pocky (even though I'm now liking Pepero brand at the Kpop store better), Hi Chew candies, Portable Chargers are so cute, Tissue Packs (I get the larger soft packs for home/auto), holiday decorations, travel slippers, packing cubes, makeup brushes, facial/back/neck massagers, etc... They change it up often so it's not always the same things... The staff has always been nice!

We mentioned it was for an 8 year old and they assured us she would be able to operate it. They took it out of the box and put fresh batteries in and showed us that it worked (they have a disclaimer posted that you need to make sure what you are buying is "good" before leaving with it. Ours was "good". After she opened her helicopter, dad tested it for a very short flight then we put it back in the box, for later. The next time she took it out of the box, she powered it on but did not fly it. We were about to eat so asked her to put it away until she ate. When she tried to turn it back on, there was no power so we figured it needed a charge. We charged it following the instructions exactly, but it never worked again. We took it back to Funny Toys and spoke to 2 different men. By the 1st, we were told if it had been an exterior part they would have replaced the part but claimed we messed up the interior battery (which cannot be changed) so there was nothing they could do. The 2nd man said he could sell us a more expensive one that is "easier to fly" (which wasn't our problem). He said it was regularly $60, currently on sale for $35, but he would "help us out" by giving it to us at $30 and no tax. I told him we did not have more money to spend on something that has no guarantees and if he could not replace ours I would have no choice but to ensure that others are able to read my review so they know not to shop there. So here I am.
