Two things to start this rating; #1 - I want to give a 4.5 rating (thanks Yelp) and #2 - Don't judge this book by its cover. Inside this old, under-renovation building is a gem of a restaurant and bar. While it likely is known for its pizza, it has a wide variety of items on the menu. It also has a full bar. It offers high top seating with banquet style seating in a dining area off the bar. It is decorated with photos of old Hollywood stars. Our group tried a little of everything during our visit. Fish fry, chicken Parmesan sandwich, meatloaf, pizza and a chicken sandwich were ordered by the group. One member of the group said his chicken Parmesan was the best he'd ever had. The meatloaf was huge and extremely flavorful. The pizza was really tasty and the chicken sandwich was...a chicken sandwich. Personally, I had the fish fry (offered on Friday and Saturday nights). It could be prepared three ways. I took the house special corn meal. I received a hearty portion. Like all meals eaten, it came out hot and well prepared. I eat a lot and the four piece meal was not only delicious, but filling. My drinks were nicely priced and mixed nicely by our busy server. She and the cook appeared to be the only staff working during our visit. Overall, we worked past the construction and enjoyed a very good meal at a reasonable price. In Chicagoland(actually Plainfield), there's a Lou Malnatis 10 minutes away from me and it's become my go-to pie when Im home. Club Northern's thin crust pub style pie is BETTER. Its the ONLY pie I'll eat anymore in the Northwoods! Had sausage, green peppers, and mushrooms, and all the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Crust is perfectly thin and somewhat reminiscent of a Vito & Nicks (I got mine extra crispy). read more

We specifically came for their fried fish and crab cakes based on recommendations. We were a large group and they were nice enough to reserve a table for ten when we called to ask. We got there and sure enough, our table was ready for us. We knew what we wanted when we got there so we proceeded to place our orders. We did not have to wait long before our food was in front of us. The restaurant itself is quite rustic which is perfect for its location. While the service was quick it wasn't very friendly. Then again, our waitress knew some of the people in our group so it could have been an act. Either way, we enjoyed our food and the company was just as great. read more

We started hearing about this restaurant only recently. It didn't disappoint. We were pleasantly surprised at the aesthetic there. Bright and clean.. Fun to see the old Hollywood memorabilia too. The food was great. We had fried ravioli for an appetizer. I had a chicken parm sandwich and my husband had shrimp. Service was great. A couple sweet and cheerful servers who were more personable than we've experienced in a long time. We're going back for sure - great menu with lots to try. read more

This intimate and welcoming diner/pub and good food place is fantastic!!! We're driving home from Canada and this gem came up. Thank goodness! We had carry out from here. We ordered a very eclectic dinner - pizza, wings, poppers and chicken gizzards . The food was excellent- everything was prepared well and the portions were very generous. A nice touch was that with each order of wings we got a nice handful of French fries. The only fly in the ointment was that the wait staff was not very interested in helping me with my pick up order. I stood there ignored for 5 minutes. A simple hi - we will be with you shortly would have been appropriate. However, that treatment won't keep us from coming back though - the food is worth it. read more

Simply the best pizza within a one-hour radius of Minong. At least. The sausage is fantastic - not the crumbly stuff, but the little balls o' sausage. So good.
